After this food truck popped up on Yelp, I knew we had to go here for lunch. Luckily I called to confirm their location. There were a couple trucks parked when we entered the shopping center on the SE corner of Congress and Lantana. My husband knew they were not the right ones. We drove around to find the Family Dollar store. Yes! Right where they said they'd be. There was even a picnic table right out front where we could dine. You order and pay at the window. Your food is packed to go which worked out as we brought a few things home. They do a lot of takeout, obviously. My husband got a pulled pork sandwich. I got the rib sandwich. We shared a small order of baked beans. And he also got some banana pudding. His pulled pork was tender. He added some of their sweet sauce to taste. Ate every bit. My rib sandwich was also very good. I had it open faced. Didn't even need to add sauce. And brought a couple ribs home. The baked beans were fantastic. Nice bits of meat and great flavor. The pudding was my least favorite -- I only had a taste, but too many cookies for me. We even got to meet Howard. He came out to check all was good. And later he said hi to a few of his regular customers. He told us everything is "house" made. What a nice touch to meet the chef/founder! I now know where we will come when we have a bbq craving. Located in a large plaza next to Family Dollar, SE corner of Lantana and Congress. A small food truck putting out Gigantic flavor! Parking in adjacent parking slots with a table, chairs and covering for shade is available for "dine here" customers. I chose the Howard's BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich and my wife and I shared some BBQ Beans. My pulled pork sandwich was a generous pile of tender pulled pork between two slices of white bread. I chose the tangy sweet BBQ sauce for my meat. Delicious and satisfying. Howard even stepped out to see how we were enjoying our meals. Today we had the most delicious bar-b-que at Howard's and you should have it too ! Wife Mary and I visited Green, Cay Nature Center and wetlands park than headed over to Howard's food truck. It was AWESOME! Howard's smoked brisket is possiably the best I've ever had. Full Stop! Mary had the Rib Tips and they were equally delicious. Now for the collards.. OMG ! The Best! This is "Real Pit Bar-B-Que at its best. Howard was able to sit with us and tell us his story , how he began, his food truck is just a side gig. But his flavor and quality could steal the show. Howard recommends to call ahead with your order and it will be ready when you arrive.. He's parked his food truck in the same location for many years plan to eat in your car or take it away as there's only a small table with 4 or 5 chairs for emergency. His barbecue sauce is homemade. the tangy was very delicious. The hot was amazing. Oh, did I mention the collards? ! Get there early he runs out because his food is fresh . Seriously been missing the abundance of bbq spots that I found in North Florida. Venting with a coworker and he dropped this pin in my lap. Completely forgot about this place until after a serious weight lifting session I spot a line coming from the gym. That's always a good sign. Warm weather just signals everyone to start looking for the food truck bbq. Sniff for the smoke and be ready with cash. All the food is great and none of that craziness of sugar in the greens. After a good meal make sure you have a cozy nap spot picked out and all is well. The sandwiches and dinners are packed thickly. Never have tried any of the desserts since most plates will get you at least a good meal and a snack. But the cornbread is as good as pound cake. read more

Someone needs to humble this place. Everything tasted like it was made the day before and reheated... I have to say, I was VERY excited to try this place after finding the reviews on yelp. Had to wait a few weeks to get here on a Saturday but eventually made the trip out to get there right when they opened... was expecting a line down the block as is typical for a hot bbq spot open odd hours (think Franklin bbq in Austin). However, arrived and was the only one there. I ordered sliced brisket and ribs with coleslaw, Mac and cheese and cornbread. Was told they don't have coleslaw... never heard of a BBQ place with no coleslaw. Ok no problem I got the potato salad instead. I started with the cornbread since it was on top and it's best to eat that while it's hot. I was given a corner piece which was dry, crumbly and not edible. -1 star. Potato salad was very eggy if you like that style, I do not. Mac and cheese was bland, with the only cheese on top rather than mixed in, again not my style. -1 star on the sides. Ok so main event, Brisket and ribs. The brisket was tough, stringy and dry. It was also cut into little pieces rather than giving you the whole slice which was strange it wasn't chopped though thank goodness. -1 star for the brisket. I was given rib tips instead of ribs which was disappointing, however they were flavorful albeit difficult to eat as rib tips tend to be. Wash on the stars for the ribs since they gave me the wrong item even though it ended up being 1/2 decent. So, overall 2 stars for this place, that had certain items unavailable, inaccurate order fulfillment, bland sides, terrible cornbread, and dry, stringy brisket. I'm sure they have some great items, I just wasn't able to find them on this trip. read more

I discovered Howard's by accident. I had just moved here and I was driving through the parking lot and smelled something delicious. I followed the scent to a food truck around the side of the strip mall and found Howard's. Every single thing I have had here has been amazing. He's only here on Saturdays and we make a point to visit a couple times a month. The brisket is my husband's favorite. He said it's the best brisket he has ever eaten. I love the smoked chicken and the Georgia sausage. Every once in a while, he has turkey legs and those are delicious too. This is our most visited place to eat in the year we have lived in the area. Howard's was absolutely delicious. First of all, Mr. Howard made ordering so easy...I called him and he asked that I text him what I would like. We communicated via text and he made helpful suggestions to ensure that I had all my bases covered. The brisket was the biggest hit, and sadly I didn't get any leftovers of that. The pork was amazing--tender and flavorful, not at all dry. The ribs were a hit as well...I am not a big rib person, but they got great reviews from the group. The sauces were all very tasty and enjoyable, and I loved that there was plenty of sauce, all marked in their own containers, so everyone could have what they wanted. The dirty rice was also very good. I loved the Cole slaw, and the cornbread was heavenly...more like a nice thick piece of cake! We set up the pick-up time via text and my husband said that the pick-up went off without a hitch. He was also surprised how much food they got for the price. My wife had business in Boca and called me on her way home so I asked her to stop at Howard's to get us some bbq for dinner. Many years ago there was a guy in Delray that made the hands down best bbq. Unfortunately he passed onto the great bbq in the sky. I have found myself looking for that same favor ever since. I search high and low with no luck, till now!! Follow yelpers I have found bbq nirvana once again!!! This is true down home southern bbq. Its cooked low and slow with love and passion. You can truly taste, that this man has put everything he has into this food. So when you pull up in your car. The first thing you see is a big cage with a smoker. Also an old truck. But don't let that fool you. You are about to get some awesome food. Hey back in the day you got the best bbg from a guy with a smoker in his yard. Sonny's in Lake Worth closed down, so I was looking for a new BBQ joint nearby and I'm glad I found Howard's. I love BBQ, but usually can't get it because I'm poor and when I eat it my stomach can't handle it and gets upset. The prices are a little high for the dinners approx $12, but if your poor like me just get a sandwich or half pound of meat which will run you approx $7. Another difference is you take the food home or eat it standing up, so you save all that money from tipping a waitress. I have never had a good beef brisket experience. Usually I get pulled pork because it is tender and juicy - every brisket I have ever had was dry and hard. The half pound of brisket I got was heaven. Every single bite was tender and juicy. There was good flavor to it and I did not get the stomach ache that I usually get afterward so I think there is an element of quality/purity. Looking forward to trying their ribs which they promote. There were some young guys maybe teenagers running the inside truck operation and they were very friendly. Said they had been serving the bbq on location for three years now. When they gave me the bbq and I told them I was a new customer, they joked that they would see me next weekend probably because it happens all the time. The wife and I came by today (Sunday), thinking and drooling about the best rib tips we have had since moving here from Chicago in 2005, not realizing that Howard's is only there on Saturdays, we were there for the first time about 3 or 4 weeks ago, after ordering, we got hit with a very strong rain storm, took our rib tips home with colard greens, it was the best!
