I was in the mood for BBQ and decided to stop in here. I got there a few minutes before noon, and right as I was looking over the menu, an announcement came on saying it was time to honor our flag and our country. Everyone stood up and placed their hands over their hearts. It was a really nice moment and something you don't see often. The guy taking our order was helpful and gave us some recommendations, which we went with. We ordered the jalapeño & cheese sausage, shredded chicken, brisket, baked beans, and fries. All of the meats were delicious ,flavorful and cooked well. The baked beans didn't have the sweetness I usually look for, and the fries were just regular French fries. On the table they had six different sauces with descriptions, which I thought was a nice touch and fun to try with each meat. The place is decorated heavily with police, military, and firefighter memorabilia, which adds to the vibe and theme of the restaurant. Overall, I'd definitely come back for the sausage -- that was the standout for me. read more

I've enjoyed this place for years and always get a kick out of the military-themed decor and photos. My most recent visit was problematical, though, because I spent $20 and left hungry. I got a half-rack of five ribs that tapered from end to end. The three ribs on the narrow end were perhaps 3.25" wide or less, and there wasn't much meat on them. Even the two "long" ribs were short and skinny compared to what this place has served me in the past. The meat was also too dry, and a $4 portion of coleslaw was ungenerous. The free side dish, cornbread, was a small piece that looked like it had been cut precisely to avoid giving a customer more than his fair share. There were not many 'combo' specials that would have made the side dishes and beverages less costly. Service was a little slow, and the workers behind the counter didn't seem to enjoy their work. I have a feeling the owner cares enough to rectify these problems. He should visit the competition, including Chinese restaurants that serve ribs, to see what he is up against. Value is more important than ever to diners these days, and Mission BBQ appears to be falling behind in that category. read more

Randomly decided to stop in with my wife for dinner. When we walked in the door the barbecue smell was so appetizing, we couldn't wait to get started! It took a few minutes to get a grasp on the menu. The staff was friendly and helped explain everything. I ultimately went with the lean brisket, a side of coleslaw, a side of collard greens and they also added in a piece of cornbread. My wife got the same, except she got the regular brisket which was much more fatty. I absolutely loved my food. Even though the brisket was lean, it was still very tender and of course the flavor was sensational. The sides were also solid. I liked that the coleslaw was chopped on the finer side and it wasn't too saucy. The collard greens also had great seasoning. I didn't try the cornbread but it looked pretty good. The only complaint we had was the texture of my wife's brisket which was a little on the mushy side. The flavor was good, it's just texture wise, most of it was like a big blob of meat and fat, rather than brisket slices. She wound up throwing more than half away. I've actually passed this place a million times and eaten at restaurants all over the area. But somehow I never stopped in at Mission BBQ. Glad I did! Four stars, I am looking forward to trying more items off their menu. read more

Been here numerous times. Haven't been in a while. Had an issue in the past but thought I'd give them another shot... they have the best sausages, jalapeno & cheddar! Plus usually their moist brisket is delicious and today it was perfect. We split a XL combo of 3 meats. I wanted the brisket and sausages I asked about having more brisket than sausages, so two orders of it and the girl told me order 2 sausages and one brisket... yeah that was totally wrong. There was barely any to share of the brisket. But it was still delicious. Other than that the staff is amazingly helpful, they keep it clean, very helpful when you pick up your food. I want to say that I LOVE mission BBQ and normally have no issues. I order online for the most part and just pick it up in store with like I said, usually no issues. But today, I ordered a jr turkey slider, baked beans, Mac n cheese, collard greens, and cobbler. They only gave me the slider and baked beans. I told them everything I ordered and the receipt. The girl with straight black hair about in her early 20s kept arguing with me and saying I only paid for the slider when the receipt is quite literally in front of her face and shows her verbatim what I paid for. Then someone else comes in and checks the receipt, gives me two out of my three sides. I tell him, I also ordered a cobbler. He's like "really are you sure?" Then checks the receipt again and gives me my cobbler that I blatantly paid for. What an embarrassment. These people are totally incompetent and have bad attitudes. Not only that but I placed the order an hour in advance to be ready at 6:45. I get there at 7:15 and it still wasn't ready PLUS I had to deal with all of that BS. Wow. Idk if I'll ever come back unless I can speak with a manager and get this rectified. read more

I wanted to give a 3 star review, but the caption on a 3 star review was "ok". This was not "ok". I wanted to like the place and the food in order to support Mission's statement. I thought the menu was very limited as well as the dessert selections. The online menu lists Memphis style (spare ribs) ribs, as well as baby back ribs. I didn't see the spare/Memphis ribs on the menu board. I asked about the spare/Memphis style and was told, that they didn't have them. I'm not sure if they were no longer sold there or they had just run out. It was 1 in the afternoon, so... I ordered a pound of the brisket. I specifically ordered the fatty end of the brisket (the point). I didn't want the lean end, or flat portion. The pound that I got was virtually flavorless, it had no bark and no smoke ring. It was dry, but in the way a sponge is dry if you squeeze every drop of water out. The pound of brisket came with some cornbread, the cornbread was only slightly more flavorful and surprisingly just a little more moist. The people at the counter and in the restaurant were very cordial and helpful. I wish this place luck, and perhaps this was just an off day, but I couldn't chance another $30+ on an order of food, that I won't eat even half of. read more

DO NOT order the chopped brisket sandwich. It consists of shredded burnt ends smothered in too sweet sauce. It's like eating a beef jerky sandwich with bbq sauce. Just gross. Nice friendly people behind the counter, but unfortunately, the food here was not what I had hoped based on my past experiences. Had ribs, brisket, and sausage (along with Mac and Cheese side). The ribs were good and so was the Mac and Cheese (not runny like other Mac and Cheese sides I've had at other BBQ places). But the brisket (ordered moist) was dry and tough. Not much bark coming through. Had to leave some over. The sausage was also a little tough and not as tasty as I have had. I have been here before and it was certainly better than this. Hard to know whether it was a bad night or not. But many tables empty on a Saturday night around 7:30-8PM during week before Christmas in South Florida. read more

I visited on 9/25/25. I showed up a little early and was invited in to hang out for their team meeting prior to store open. First of all, I want go to a place where the food is good. The food here isn't just good...it's GREAT! This is my favorite place to eat in Boynton. Second, I want to go to a place where there is superior service and atmosphere. The whole environment and the staff honors military, law enforcement, and first responders. It's a place where the people there share common values with my family--God, family, country. Third, I want to go to a place where the company treats the people with dignity and respect. I gathered that a number of the staff were veterans and that was awesome! The team meeting was respectful, upbeat, and goal-oriented. Lastly, they are generous and kind. I have eaten at Morton's, Ruth's Chris, & Hell's Kitchen...for a pretty penny, but no place gives you the feeling of eating at Mission BBQ. As a veteran, physician, patriot, & corporate executive, I cannot say enough about Mission BBQ Boynton Beach. I will even go so far to say that, God forbid, if I had my choice, (since my dear Grandma is no longer here), I would choose Mission BBQ for my last meal on Earth...even if they had to puree it and put it in a feeding tube. Came to Florida for my nieces birth and needed a good filling dinner, so of course being from Texas I went for BBQ- I chose mission due to their amazing reviews. Everyone was super friendly and helpful! HUGE HUGE shout out to Heather who came by our table to ask how we were and when we told her it was our first time she came back with a platter of all of their sides!! When I asked about it they did give me a replacement brisket that was the total opposite of what I received initially. (They did not ask if I wanted a sauce on the chopped brisket.) The brisket was tender and juicy, the chopped pork was moist and had great flavor, the slaw was good, and the beans were excellent. There are six different sauces on the table that were all tasty, they even had a Eastern NC Vinegar sauce, my only sauce suggestions would be to add a SC Mustard based sauce or an Alabama White sauce. The staff stayed friendly as they cleared people out. But when I got up my order was also messed up. The quantity of food was biggest than I expected. But the quality was average. This place seems to worry more about sauce than meat. And both the sides and dessert were runny. Too much milk? Too much cheese. Everything all sauce and soft.
