3.5 stars. Really had high expectations, as I'd heard good things. The BBQ was good, not great. Ribs were a little too fall-off-the-bone for me, a bit of a sign that they're overcooked, as proper BBQ should have a little tug off the bone. Good flavor, and probably the best of the BBQ I sampled. We went with the moist over the lean brisket. Thankful for that choice, as the brisket was pretty dry overall. Can't imagine the distinction between the moist and the lean. Pulled pork was better than expected. Good flavor and not nearly as dry as the brisket. The baked beans were quite tasty. Actually enjoyed the brisket here a bit better, as the bbq sauce and sweetness truly rescued it. Pretty tasty collard greens, with a nice vinegar to help cut through that meat. A delicious side. The service is very friendly, and the food is served quickly. The beer selection definitely could be better. I like BBQ, but the bottom line is that this is not a place I'd be rushing back to. It's good for people who just need to satisfy that BBQ fix, but it's really nothing special in the world of BBQ. read more

Dad and bonus mom have never been to a Mission so this was on the list. Dad drove one of those deuce and a half during his time in the Army so he enjoyed the memories brought back from seeing this massive truck in their parking lot. Half rack of ribs for me with a side of cole slaw. Ribs were excellent (if I'm nitpicking, maybe a little teeny bit dry) but the table sauce helped and they were definitely delicious. Cole slaw was creamy and crisp. I only had a tiny corner of the cornbread because keto diet, but it was sweet and tasty. I love the mission of Mission and their support for military. While in Florida, I was craving some good ol' brisket, I wasn't sure what I would find but after some review reading, I knew Mission BBQ would be a good choice. I walked in at exactly 12:00pm, to my surprise as soon as I opened the doors everyone was standing, right hand over their heart. So, it begins regardless; of race, religion or gender we stood there as proud Americans reciting the "Pledge of Allegiance." Honestly, I didn't expect it but after I walked around the restaurant getting a feel for it. I later found myself on there website wanting to read the owner's story. It was moving... if you get a chance, look it over. Back to the food... I had premade sides at home, so all I needed was BBQ Brisket, got 1lb fatty brisket and 1/2lb lean. I also ordered cornbread. The fatty brisket was fire! The customer service was great, not to mention all the sauces, I love sauces!!! Can't wait to come back and try the ribs, chicken, coleslaw and fries! read more

This is a great barbecue restaurant that has a dine in or pick up option available for its guests! I usually eat in when I come here. The restaurant is decorated nicely with decor paying tribute to our troops and vets. I order the brisket which is great, for sides I usually get the collard greens which are also pretty good. Baked beans are tasty as well. The food service here is quick and enjoyable! The staff is also quite nice as well. Pretty good bbq. I got the brisket (juicy & fatty) with mac n cheese and a piece of corn bread. The brisket had some crispy pieces on it and I really enjoyed it. There are 6 different kinds of bbq sauces at the table that you can use while eating. A downside of taking this to-go is that you don't have access to the bbq sauce so you might find that your food is dry. The mac n cheese was average, not amazing. Chick-fil-a still reigns in at #1 for best take-out mac n cheese. If you really want bbq I would recommend coming in and checking this place out. read more

The place is where Shane's Rib Shack used to be off of Congress and between Gateway and Boynton Beach Boulevard. I had no idea that its first location opened its doors 10 years after the World Trade Center tragedy and it honors the first responders, soldiers, firefighters, and police officers across the country. It offers BBQ food, sides, and refreshments for customers to enjoy. I went for the pulled pork sandwich and a side of macaroni and cheese. I thought it was a little pricey for the side and expected it to be a bigger portion than what it came out to be. However, the meal was good and it had decent flavor and was cooked nicely. The pledge of allegiance was played when I was there and everybody was asked to stand to honor it. I'm not sure how often it's played there daily, but it was a nice tribute. The staff worked together with getting the orders in and out and one of the managers on duty actually gave me a little insight on how long the meat was cooked prior to it coming on the plate. It was around 12 hours and gave a description of the sauces that were on the tables to have with our meal if we wanted any. I wasn't overly impressed with it since the prices weren't reasonable for some of the items and probably could have got a full meal elsewhere for the cost of the sandwich alone. read more

I like their concept, but honestly I'm skeptical of these overly commercial looking BBQ places. Ultimately the only thing that matters is the BBQ and the BBQ part of Mission BBQ was unfortunately lacking. Let me start by saying I LOVE BBQ! I love ribs, brisket, pork, sausage, everything! We had gone to a Mission BBQ in some other state (can't remember where) and it was ok. So while there are many better BBQ options in Boynton we decided to give Mission BBQ one more shot. Unfortunately we were very disappointed and it was actually worse than the other location we had visited. We had a rack of ribs and 2 meat combo with brisket and pulled pork. For sides we had coleslaw and green beans. It came out to around $46 with 2 fountain drinks. Not horrible for BBQ but not cheap either. We asked for the brisket to be juicy/fatty. We got a couple of pieces of fat and some random dry flat portions. Very little bark on it and lacked flavor, needed BBQ sauce which is never a good sign. The pulled pork was ok, not horrible, not great, very forgettable. The ribs were also very disappointing. They almost tasted boiled instead of smoked. Again had to hit up the sauce to make them edible. Speaking of BBQ sauce they had like 6 flavors. Honestly I hated all but maybe 1 or 2. I didn't notice the vinegar sauce until we were leaving as it was in a separate container not with the other 6 so I can't comment on that one. Overall it's a nice place, friendly staff and fast service... but the BBQ is junk! If you just pour 3lbs of sauce on your BBQ sandwich then it may be alright for you, but if you want real BBQ find another place. Several better options in Boynton. read more

Haven't found a local BBQ place I like as much as Mission. When I came with a party of 5, I made sure we all had something different so we can share. We tried out the brisket, pulled pork sandwich, pulled chicken and sausage. They are all fairly priced. About $7-$9 for each serving of meat. You can also get a market sampler which combines 2-3 meats. Walking in after work time, they had a rush and the line was out the door. It was also hard to find parking as we had to park in the plaza next to them. After you order with the cashier, you pick up your order with the number assigned to you. They have an open kitchen so you can see the staff working to prepare your meal. It was hard to find a seat for 5 people but we waited for a table to get up and claimed it. Surprisingly, my favorite was the one I was weirded out with. I'm not a huge BBQ fan but the sausage with jalapeno and cheese got me hooked. It was amazing! They had all kinds of bbq sauces on the table for you to experience. I leaned towards the sweet sauce more. Great spot. read more
