First time here and this is how things shook out: Keep up the good work: - I had grilled chicken sandwich and it was perfectly cooked (ie, it was juicy) - my husband had the Monday night special and really enjoyed it. His sides were baked beans and mac n cheese. - server was attentive and kept our soda refilled Mild bummers: - Mac n cheese would be better if it had a crust on it - it was very loud here...not a huge deal breaker but given I have some hearing loss, it was hard for me to hear our server and my husband. There was an excessively loud table to our side and nobody used their "indoor voices". But it seemed every table was a bit loud and maybe it was because there are a lot of tvs and I know people were vocal while watching whatever was on. I just prefer no TVs in restaurants that are not sports bars. Oh well. Overall, we were satisfied and would come back again. read more

My coworker's could not stop talking about this BBQ place. It was so many good things. I had to check it out for my self. The restaurant was big inside. It was easy to find. It was in the center of a plaza with a huge sign outside. I got the BBQ pork sandwich that came with 2 sides. The bread was so soft. I liked the sandwich. I didn't taste much seasonings in the pork. It was a good sandwich. I then ordered the corn fritters which were big, and excellent lol. I enjoyed them. I was happy with the meal. I ordered takeout out. I sat by the bar and waited for it. Somehow this place still survives. The food hasn't gotten any better, the service is still apathetic, the kitchen struggles to put out a table full of food with edible items, and it's been 5+ years since the dining room was remotely near full, but they still refuse to throw in the towel. read more

Ribs are the same as usual. I tried the funny bonz today. They are the ends of the ribs. Most of them were dried out and overcooked. I won't get them again. The corn bread/cake and garlic bread was good. The Mac and cheese hasn't changed. The sweet potato fries are great as usual. Upcharge is $1.50 even if you only get one side. Running out of other sides I like. Price for a whole rack is now $32.00. Monday special has them at 20.99. Service was fast. Not very busy at all. I do miss the days when they were very busy. Nothing fancy here, just really good BBQ! My family has been coming here since I was a kid. (Fun fact: the smiling pig mascot used to really creep me out back then!) The ribs are the reason to come here! When I was a kid, they had an all you could eat option for the ribs on Monday nights. They can't do that anymore, but they do have some good deals during the week. I also loved the Cesar salad. The chicken breast on to was always perfect! This probably is a little higher than three, unfortunately it is not a four star restaurant. The ribs are actually pretty tasty but at $32 for a full rack that is almost the same price as a upscale restaurant. The service is decent for what it is, but not good enough to be considered a four star restaurant. I am so happy to have stopped in for lunch after my usual BBQ joint was closed for vacation. I may never go back to the other place because the food and service at PA BBQ was so good. I went on a Saturday for lunch and the very nice server said they had a lunch special that included a 1/4 BBQ chicken (light or dark meat) and 1/4 lb of pulled pork that seemed like a little more, with 2 sides and choice of garlic toast or cornbread. She also gave us a small bowl of sweet and spicy sliced pickes. My husband and I both got the daily special and our sided were mac ans cheese, collard greens, coleslaw, and we tried both the cornbread and garlic toast. Everything was so good but we still couldn't finish and had to get doggie bags. I loved the variety of BBQ sauces on the table and the music in the background was great for the ambiance. We thought the soda price was a bit expensive compared to other restaurants but they did offer free refills. While we were there, the togo window to the parking lot was quite busy. The restaurant inside was not too busy but it was filling up as we were leaving. The wood decor added to the ambiance and the bar area had a great variety of options. I have been to this restaurant twice and unfortunately had the same server both times. The first time she lectured me when I asked for a salad with Romaine lettuce. She told me I did not ask nicely. I actually did ask politely. The second time she rudely told my friend who didn't realize she had a glass of water that she should not have moved the coaster. She then stormed off while taking our orders and returned several minutes later. She told another friend who asked for a separate check that she assumed she was single because she didn't look like she belonged with our group. In conclusion, although the food was very good, we will not be returning to your restaurant. This server is certainly not an asset. Just came in for something quick to eat and drink. Decided to try the bone in wings. They had a good selection of sauces to choose from so I asked the bartender to confirm if the "Stupid" versions were the hottest. She said yes so I ordered 10 of the Stupid/Hot Buffalo Wings and a side of baked beans. Both were underwhelming. The beans did not look or taste like anything other than canned baked beans. The Hot Buffalo Wings looked like buffalo, in color only. They were a greasy mess with no discernible buffalo sauce flavor, and only mild at best for spicy flavor. PA BBQ is our go-to place for Bar-B-Q, and we stop by every few months. The food is consistently good and the service is usually excellent. Until now. I always order the grilled chicken sandwich and request cornbread instead of the bun. It's never been an issue until our last visit when the manager, Steven Brown, got involved and told me that he's been working at this location for 12 years and has never authorized the substitution of cornbread for the bun. I explained that I've been visiting this location for 14 years and have NEVER been refused my seemingly minor request. Sensing my frustration and recognizing that I was about to leave (which I was), the manager, who was clearly irritated that I would make such an outrageous request, agreed to allow me to have a piece of cornbread "just this once". I said that "just this once" would be sufficient because we weren't planning to ever return. To make matters worse, my dinner arrived with a burnt bun and no cornbread. I politely asked the food runner to get my cornbread. He was happy to do so. Clearly the manager never conveyed to the server nor the kitchen that he had grudgingly approved my cornbread request. The whole incident started with the server, who should be fired for her poor attitude. When I made my initial request for cornbread, she said that she'd have to check with the manager because she normally worked at another location and they didn't allow such a substitution. I explained that my request has ALWAYS been honored at the Boynton Beach location. After the food arrived, we never saw the server again. When she passed by our table, she saw that I had received the cornbread and had set the burnt bun aside. She must have been irritated that my request was honored because she did not once stop by our table to see how things were going or if we needed anything. She dropped off the check and picked up the payment with nary a word. Needless to say, her tip reflected this poor attitude and poor service. In fact, based on how we were treated, we probably shouldn't have left a tip at all. But the food runner and the kitchen staff did their jobs, so we wanted to be sure they received a portion of the tip. Why would the manager be willing to lose long-standing customers (including the friends we tell about this experience) over a piece of cornbread? Does it really cost the company that much more than a bun? If the issue was truly cost, the manager could have suggested that we pay a small upcharge for the cornbread. That would have been a reasonable compromise and a way to provide some semblance of customer service. We've noticed that PA BBQ is not nearly as busy as it had been in the past. The food is reasonably priced and tasty, with a nice selection of BBQ sauces. It's a good value, although the half-chicken with two sides at $14 is a much better deal than the thinly pounded single breast chicken sandwich with one side for $13. Perhaps customers are being driven away by the poor attitude of the staff and management? read more

After seeing fellow Yelper and friend Lisa H's 5-star review, I had bookmarked this restaurant for a visit. So glad we did -- as we had a very good lunch here. We sat in a booth (socially distanced) and browsed the menu. Our server Colleen was friendly and efficient. The comp pickles were surprising. At first sweet, they had a very spicy kick to them -- too spicy for me, but he liked them. There was a daily special of a large pork sandwich that my husband chose. The pulled pork came with a couple sides. He loved his collard greens. The baked beans not so much, but they were still ok. The pork portion was tender, moist, and large (he saved half for later). I ordered the small "regular" size "funny bonz" . They are the small uneven sized ribs at the end of rack they can't use for their whole and half racks. I thought it was going to be a tiny portion, but it was larger than expected. The ribs were in a very tasty bbq sauce. Messy but good. For a side, I chose their corn (good) and a square of slightly sweet corn bread came with it as well. They also have a pick up window should you wish to take out. We will definitely return. Time to update this review. I like picking up orders here because there's a window on the front to make it easy. Service is usually pretty fast. My favorite entree is their Funny Bones platter. It comes in small (one side) and large (two sides). They are the rib tips and very meaty. Love their Mac n cheese as well. Came for dinner with my hunny this week. Got the corn fritters as an appetizer which were massive and oh so delicious! Got the deal they had of the night with a half rack of ribs and wings for $15. While babe got the LeBron which was a brisket stuffed sandwich with an onion ring. I opted for the baby back ribs which were very tasty, tender and meaty. I wish the wings were cooked a little longer but I don't think the server heard me when I asked for them to be well done. They did give me all flats which I did request though. The server was very accommodating and asked us if we wanted to take our drinks refilled to go after we finished. We both ended the night saying we should go more often! read more
