Our order was taken at 4:20 but on receipt, it was placed at 4:37.... Needless to say, i was disappointed with the service even though it was just a 15% discount. I did see another review having a similar issue. Dislike the dishonesty, and if the food wasnt as great as it was, this rating would be way lower. The food was great, probably one of the best flat bread pizzas I've ever had. I would recommend the mushroom one. The shrimp mojo had a really strong cheese, a little too much for my liking. We came here last night and the service and location were amazing. We had high expectations, friends of ours said it was good and we really wanted it to be. The food was decent. It was not amazing. We ordered the octopus appetizer, filet, two pizzas, rosemary fries, an old fashion, lobster Mac and cheese and chipino. The lobster Mac and the filet were very good. Everything else was just okay. The clams in my chipino were not good at all nor was the lobster and the shrimp. Anyways, they did end up charging my 11 year old daughter with a $30 pepperoni pizza since they don't have kids meals. That was the most annoying thing out of principle. . Anyways, one cocktail, my wife had no drinks, and the bill was $415. Just for my family. Probably won't do that again based on value. My wife and I cancelled dinner for two here a few nights later and will try something else. read more

The grilled octopus was so good. It wasn't chewy, at all. It was so tasty. The Shirley Temple was a bit different than your run of the mill ST. Very good. The restaurant is very clean and is beautifully designed. I could tell the owner/decorator took care to make it feel high end. The view of the water was gorgeous! This is a wonderful restaurant to dine at and I highly recommend the ahi bruschetta! We got the 2 piece when we should have gotten more! The service was perfect and they were so nice to everyone at our table. My sister is pregnant and they accommodated her very nicely! They suggested she order a pizza which she did. My husband and I ordered the ahi bruschetta and shared a pizza! Parking was easy and free! We walked in and they were able to seat our party of four immediately. It was a Thursday evening and around 8pm though. We had some drinks and really enjoyed our dining experience. I would definitely return here again! read more

Great food and server! BUT the way we were greeted... I checked in advance to see if they had any reservations and the was a bunch so I decided not to make one. Upon arrival we were asked if we had a reservation and the restaurant looked empty. I said we don't and we were only offered to sit by the bar. I checked open table and there were still a lot of slots open which host didn't react too well to and told me to see "is it will go through". Oh yeah, it did. We came here to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday and I was blown away. The food was much better than Mama's Fish House and the value and quality of the food was great. Everyone in our table commented how much crab they got in their mac and cheese and how the portions were much larger than they expected. Fantastic ocean side ambiance and nice modern boat house feel. The service was impeccable- great touch on providing my husband with a free dessert and candle.I definitely highly recommend this restaurant and will be back when in Maui. read more

This is definitely the pinky-up kind of place you are looking for, for those super special occasions. It was my best friend's and my birthday on the day we went and showed up a little before our reservation, luckily the hostess just said a table opened up and was waiting for the right party to show for this table. Our view was amazing throughout the whole dinner experience!! Being able to witness the sunset on your left was such a beautiful and amazing feeling. We were even greeted with a birthday cake and a simple birthday song for our celebration at the end of dinner. The waitress was great and deserves all the praise for keeping her cool when drinks were spilled and the customer at the other table was not being understanding. Eventually heard from a manager who fully accommodated us. Place was packed Tuesday night but service was pretty good. Fun cocktails on the menu then super delicious foods, although a bit pricey, even for Hawaii. Seafood scampi was amazing, ahi meatballs were weird but great. Burrata with hazelnut raisin toast was also unique and yummy. Even the Mac& Cheese was cool with the included shrimp. Scallops were cooked to perfection, fish and chips were good too. They are not trying to be Mama's Fish House but the food is at a level where they may end up with the same reservation backlog eventually, because other restaurants arent ecen close. Dinner with an amazing view. Right on the ocean, so relaxing hearing the waves and seeing the sunset. Amazing place for a date night! Highly recommend the ahi bruschetta, nothing like you've ever had! We got the Caesar salad and the margarita pizza (removed the basil for my son). The scallops were cooked perfectly! The sauce that comes on the scallops is the same that will be on the rib eye. It's more on the sweet side, so I'd probably prefer that flavor with the rib eye! Will definitely try next time! Honu Oceanside was one of my top 3 restaurants while on a recent visit to Maui! I came across this restaurant on the Yelp App: it had a 4 star rating, a delicious looking menu, and had an open time slot for a reservation in 2 hours so this was an easy choice! This restaurant is located RIGHT next to Kahoma Stream waters and there were waves splashing up against the rocks next to us about 50 to 100 feet away; we never got wet and the oceanfront views were amazing for lunch meal!! We got the following: Grilled Octopus, Pepperoni Pizza, Charred Ahi Tuna Salad, and a Fried Local Fish. I enjoyed everything but the charred ahi tuna was specifically full of flavor and so velvety soft . The fried fish was also very good as well. Prices are pretty standard for the area as there are a lot of tourists around here. Combine great tasting food and an awesome view, this was a great experience! read more

And once sat down, water isn't served to you till 10 minutes later... then they leave you alone for another 10-15 minutes... Oysters and one oyster shooter - the babe thought the shooter was good - the oysters are from the pnw and a littler meatier than my usual choice of oysters, but fresh and yummy - however, the migionette was extremely salty. Fantastic, across the board! Here are just a few reasons I love this place! o Our octopus appetizer put the Woodinville Barking Frog to shame. I love how Mike explained how ahi was the fish of the day because that was the best of the best, they had purchased that morning, right there on that dock right over there. Came here for the first time almost 10 years ago on our list night on the island. Since then, any time we've been lucky enough to visit Maui we've returned to dine here on our last night. The food has always been excellent and the customer service has always been outstanding. Made a reservation for valentine's day and I assume it's safer to have reservations in general. We got there at 11am when the restaurant opened so we were seated right away. The views were really nice but parking can be limited so be prepared to walk a bit if you don't get to park in the super small lot on either side of the restaurant. We ordered pupus mainly and they did not disappoint. 1st and foremost, just do yourself a favor and order the Ahi Bruschetta. It's blasted all over their yelp page and it's what they're known for. That is one dish that I will be dreaming about and returning for. That sweet aged balsamic vinegar with edamame hummus was surprisingly delicious combo but that flaxseed toast with its buttery savory self was the star. Of course some will fight me and say it's the ahi and it was ono but the toast made the ahi shine. option is to order 2 or 4. we fought temptation and only ordered 2 so we could try other items on the menu. 2. grilled spanish octopus. let's tako bout it. the tako was super tender and the rich butter sauce was heavenly as tako by itself doesn't have a strong taste. Wife ordered soup of the day with chowder and although it was super good, the soup was heavily overshadowed by how amazing the bruschetta and tako pupus were. lastly, we shared an italian sausage pizza and that was also amazing. Great service, great good and great views of Lahaina harbor. Make reservations because this place is busy and for good reason. I ordered Ahi meatballs in marinara and cheese. This freaked me out because they tasted like a good beef meatball. I had to confirm with the waitress. And I also had the Cioppino that was awesome. Been here for over an hour. Still waiting for our entrees. We waited half an hour for the oysters to arrive. The chef's choice dozen oysters are great, very fresh. Oyster shooters however, aren't very fresh but the flavor is fine. We finished the oysters in 10 minutes or so and then proceeded to wait another 30 minutes for our next course. Update: Yup we waited 40 minutes for the entrees. We had the Cioppino and Seafood Scampi. The Cioppino was way too salty the soup could only be eaten with the brioche, not by itself. The seafood scampi was too sour, with too much lemon zest or something... fine to eat with the seafood but the pasta was basically inedible after two bites because it was coated with the sauce. There was also a dead clam in the plate lol (closed up). I'm usually a huge dessert person but this time we just wanted to leave the place asap after we finished the entrees. The family decided to do a staycation on Maui and we were lucky enough to snag a spot here at Honu Oceanside for an early dinner! We absolutely loved the atmosphere--windows and doors opened for the lovely breeze. Highly recommend coming for an earlier dinner to catch that sunset view. Since we came for an early evening, we were lucky enough to be seated with a table of 5 right away! The waiting staff was super attentive the whole time and frequently checked in with us for drinks and any other service. For the table, we shared the Grilled Spanish Octopus and it was cooked to perfection! The texture and flavor was so ono and served with little crostinis made it the such a delicious appetizer. I ordered the Fish & Chips myself while the rest of them got the Fish Sandwich and 3 burgers! Stole a bite of each family members plate and can admit the burger was sooooo good! Fish sandwich was okay but the fish & chips were my favorite!! Not too much batter, perfect level of crisp & a good amount of fish meat too!!
