This place is the definition of 5 stars. Service is phenomenal. The food is high end, pricey, but absolutely worth it! Very clean and warm welcoming atmosphere as well! Would highly recommend!

One of my favorite dinners we had in Maui. The food was great, just the right amount where you leave full but not stuffed. The virgin lava flows were delicious and refreshing. The service was good and our table was great-only thing is we were seated next to one of those torches and the smell started to become noticeable towards the end of our stay. I'd recommend taking a walk down to the beach to after your meal-it's beautiful!

Nick's Fishmarket used to be one of my faves, but... ATMOSPHERE: It looks pretty much the same since we've first dined here. Still open-air with covered lanai seating overlooking the pool. MENU: I wish they change that horrible font they use on the menu. It's very cheap-looking and contradicts the menu's delightful selections - a stronghold of American dishes but now with less of a Hawaiian aspect. FOOD: Seafood Chowder Served warm but not searing hot, the white chowder was creamy and seasoned well, with a fair amount of protein and topped with a mini crab cake. Fresh Island Catch Picatta The fish was monchong, cooked nicely but with disproportionate seasoning as parts of the filet had no flavor. What looked like risotto was actually farrotto, a wheat that looks and tastes similar to the former, but wasn't seasoned at all, akin to eating plain rice. The capers and sauce gave the dish some life but it was very disappointing and bland for $69. DESSERT: New York Style Cheesecake Drizzled with strawberry sauce and topped with fresh strawberries, the medium-density cake was good but a tad overly sweet for me. SERVICE: Host service was good. Entrees came out while we were still finishing up the appetizers which drives me crazy. Where's the timing? The male server was very shy with no personality and seemed either inexperienced or anxious to leave work. When he presented himself, he just stood at the table's side without any verbal communication. Peppering our dishes got maybe 3/4 of a twist from the grinder, not till we said "when". He checked on us just once near the end of our entrees, not soon after they were presented. Bill drop off was accompanied by him muttering "check"? No "thank you" or even "have a pleasant evening". Nothing. It felt like pay and get the hell out. OVERALL: A fall from grace. Substandard service with a downward turn in cuisine.

WOOOW!!! I had Rayden as my server for my first experience at Nick's Fishmarket, and all I can say is it was some of the best service I've ever had. He was funny, accommodating, and gave really great recommendations. When I come back, I'll definitely be hoping to get Rayden again!

We headed here after watching a beautiful sunset at the beach just a half a mile away. Didn't realize until we arrived that the restaurant was in the Fairmont resort. It was decorated beautifully for Christmas. We went to checkin at the restaurant after looking around a bit. We waited at the bar for about 15 minutes until our table was ready. We had arrived about 30 minutes ahead of our reservation time. We were seated and then our wonderful dining experience began. Started off with seafood chowder for me and the Caesar salad for my husband. Then I ordered the scallops and shrimp with tortellini and my husband had the Mahi Mahi special. Our son was tearing us to dinner for Christmas and he had looked yay their menu online and told us we had to have the strawberries for dessert. So we did. oh my goodness!! It was a treat for all your senses. I myself had to add a crème brûlée too bc it's my all time favorite. Both were delicious and we savored every bite. We were so stuffed by the time we left but we couldn't have asked for a better meal. Spot on with everything.

Oh my gosh, what wasn't AMAZING?! Food, Service, Ambiance...We sat at the bar and it was truly magnificent! From drinks to desert everything was exquisite! The mouthwatering oysters, my favorite I've EVER tasted and everything in between before and after of course! Thank you for creating a joyful atmosphere for a night out with my hubby after a crazy busy holiday week! Just what we needed!!!

I never eat at fancy restaurants but this place was gorgeous and the food lived up to the atmosphere! It's located in the Fairmont Hotel and the food was delicious! They also brought out bread while we were waiting for our food because the chicken was taking longer than the rest of the food. We really loved it here and it was probably my favorite meal of our vacation!

The food is FABULOUS! The service was great! We had a large group(9) and sat on the patio. Scenery was spectacular!

This restaurant is located inside the Fairmont Hotel & the location is just beautiful. We did outside seating so we could enjoy the sunset during our meal. For shared appetizers we ordered the lump crab cake & strawberry-beet salad. The crab cakes are small and the strawberry-beet salad is refreshing. We ordered the Potato Scaled Mahi Mahi, Ginger-Soy Marinated Ahi, & Moroccan Spiced Salmon as our entrees. All of their fish entrees are moist and cooked perfectly. I like how the flavors & creativity in the dishes shined through. For dessert we ordered the panna cotta and flambé strawberries. The staff and service are very attentive and helpful with the menu.

$56 SCALLOP & TORTELLINI: by far the best entree!!! goat cheese tortellini was DELICIOUS! Only 2 scallops, 3 shrimp, 3 tortellini for size.

**BETTER THAN MAMA'S FISH HOUSE** Don't shoot the messenger. AMBIANCE (4/5): You can see the ocean while dining out on the patio. It's inside the FAIRMONT HOTEL. I LOVE this hotel! Walk down a picturesque staircase to get to the restaurant from the lobby entrance. Don't forget some photo ops if you're dining when the sunsets for the perfect "golden hour" glow! SERVICE (3/5): We came with a large party (10+) and dined VERY EARLY, so no one was there except a few tables and us and service was TOP NOTCH at the beginning. But as we were nearing dessert the whole restaurant filled up and they pretty much forgot about us for 30 minutes while we waited for our desserts. If it wasn't for this one thing, it would be a 5 star review. We were literally just trying to pay and leave since we waited so long and almost cancelled our dessert, but we were celebrating a few birthdays and wanted them to have their dessert. FOOD (5/5): The food is 100% better here than at Mama's Fish House! I think the trendiness is the only thing that's holding Mama's Fish House. I wish more people knew of NICK'S FISHMARKET, but I'll keep this a hidden gem to myself. $32 OYSTERS (half dozen): fresh & delicious! Oysters were average, but I still loved them to start. $18 STRAWBERRY BEET SALAD: LOVED this dish! It's a lot of flavors that work really well together. Pesto, goat cheese, li hing mui strawberries. Must try! $45 MOROCCAN SPICED SALMON: I was really craving salmon, comes with almost a guacamole & purple rice with some Japanese mushrooms. $56 SCALLOP & TORTELLINI: THIS was by far the best entree!!! The goat cheese tortellini was DELICIOUS! Must love goat cheese obviously. Only 2 diver scallops, 3 large shrimp, and 3 tortellini for size. $27 STRAWBERRIES PANZINI: dinner & a show! They flambee (put on fire) table side for a fun show! It sweetens the strawberries the longer you let it burn. comes with homemade whipped cream, chocolate sauce and brown sugar. A light, but delicious way to end the night. OVERALL (4/5): Love the ambiance & food here! I'm sure that was a tiny slip in service, it did take away from the experience ending on a bad note, but we had the best time and I would HIGHLY recommend this place!

Ask the Community - NICKS FISHMARKET

    Can we walk in?

Depending on the time, you could get a table without a reservation. The earlier they open, the better the chance. Seasonality is a factor too. First couple weeks in December shouldn't be a problem.

    Is there free parking?

No as it is inside the hotel which charges for parking regardless of whether or not you are staying there.

It feels like drink prices are finally leveling out even while food prices keep climbing! Food-wise, we sampled every flavor of the sliders. They were all very tasty, though a bit heavy on the salt for my personal palate. We also tried the wings, which come in a great variety of flavors. My only real gripe was that the fries were a bit overcooked, but the service was so fast and attentive that it made up for it. Overall, a great neighborhood spot for a casual hang. Working in customer service means you don't let a bad day trickle down to your guests, and unfortunately, that's exactly how this experience felt. As for the food, it was just okay--nothing memorable. What really stood out (in a bad way) was the pricing. Charging $17 for a burger and then an additional $5 just to add lettuce and tomato feels like nickel-and-diming customers. At that point, just price the burger at $22 and be upfront about it--it's a much better experience than feeling upcharged for basic toppings. My husband and I had an incredible dining experience here during our stay at Hotel Wailea. He made…read morea reservation for dinner, and we opted for the course menu, which was beautifully paced and delicious. The dessert was easily the best part! I enjoyed both of the dessert options we tried. They were the perfect end to the meal. What really touched me was the staff's attention to detail. They remembered it was our babymoon and took the time to congratulate us, which made the evening feel even more personal and special! We had a stunning view of the water, and watching the sunset from our table was gorgeous! It is easily one of the best spots on the island for a romantic evening! We enjoyed the atmosphere so much that we returned the next morningfor breakfast. The omelette was prepared perfectly. It was served with a tropical frit mix that I enjoyed a lot! I had the best papaya I have ever tried! From start to finish, the service was top notch! The entire time made sure we were well taken care of!

4.5/5 stars We came…read morehere to celebrate our anniversary, and it was such a pleasant experience. This restaurant is located inside the Hotel Wailea. There is free guest parking, so that was nice. We ate outside, so the ambiance and lighting was nice and romantic. Service was attentive. For our anniversary, they gave us a complimentary bite that included caviar, and they decorated our dessert with the words "Happy Anniversary," so these were nice touches that made us feel special. The meal was a $150 per person for a 3 course dinner. For my starter, I got the hamachi crudo, which was perfection! The fish pieces were so large, fresh, and soft, and the mango relish inside added a great flavor. The star fruit on top made the dish so pretty, and it was so tasty! I tried my fiancé's scallop, which was cooked perfectly. Bread was included in the meal, and it was warm and soft and came with this lavender butter, which was tasty, although the salt was too concentrated in the butter in some sections For the entrees, I got the poached lobster, and my fiancé got the grilled kanpachi. The lobster was tender, and it also came with mussels, shrimp, and veggies. The dish was flavorful, but small. I tried my fiancé's kanpachi, which was solid but was too salty and not as tender as I prefer. For dessert, I tried the poni cheesecake. This dessert was just average in my opinion because the cheesecake lacked flavor (didn't taste like cheesecake or ube). The crust also had a coconut taste, which I didn't prefer. The texture of the cheesecake was light and satisfying. Overall, would give this place 4/5 stars, but increased to 4.5 due to the special touches for our anniversary.
