Granted we came for lunch and while I did enjoy what we ordered, I'm not sure what the fuss is all about. I'll admit, the fries were magnificent, and the burger tasty, and the poke nachos fresh and delicious, but nothing earth shattering. Good, maybe even great, but just not "wow.I'm so glad I waited 2 hrs for a table" great. Even the famous Mai Tai just met expectations. Pretty big place, and I'm glad we made a reservation. They happy hour and music but that was the tailend of our visit so we didn't get to enjoy either. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town, and will go for dinner next time. Perhaps I'll be more impressed then!

Mai tais live up to the hype. The lilikoi foam is heavenly. Get it for $4 off at happy hour. Wings were good, half off during happy hour. We also got the saimin and ahi tuna steak off the regular menu. Both were okay, but way too salty.

We went to Monkeypod for dinner and it was amazing. We both started with mocktails- I got the noperol spritz while my husband got the virgin monkey pod mai tai. Both were very good and tasted like the real thing. We then got the lobster deviled eggs for an appetizer, and then the kalua pork and pineapple pizza and the fish tacos to share for our entree. The deviled eggs were really good and then the pizza I think was our favorite. Usually I'm not a pineapple on pizza person but this was perfectly done and not too overwhelming. Would definitely recommend Monkeypod if you find yourself in Hawaii.

Went for their famous happy hour. We did not have a reservation, but they had open tables inside, so we were able to be seated right away. Unfortunately their pizza oven was broken that day, so foodwise, there weren't many happy hour options. That was a bummer, as we ended up spending a lot more than we intended. Our food was still delicious, our server was super kind and helpful, and the cocktails were delicious. The mai tais there can't be beat! I would probably skip the lobster deviled eggs in the future. They were good, but they have better options for the price. Poke tacos were fresh and flavorful, and the seared ahi steak was perfectly done. I wasn't sure about the jalapeno potatoes, but they were delicious! A yummy combo I would not have thought to do. Definitely worth a visit when in Maui!

We came here for lunch and were able to make a reservation just two hours in advance, which was convenient. Once we arrived, we were seated immediately. The place was fairly busy, though there were still a few open tables. Our server was okay--friendly, but it felt a bit forced at times. She didnt check with us in between, only in end! We ordered the taro ravioli, beet salad, fish and chips, and the macadamia-crusted mahi mahi with extra sauce. For drinks, we tried the famous mai tai and a virgin mai tai. The virgin version was overly sweet, and the regular mai tai felt a bit overhyped--the alcohol content seemed quite low. As for the food, everything was decent overall. The macadamia-crusted mahi mahi was the standout dish, while the fish and chips were just okay, with the fries a bit soggy. Overall, it was a decent experience, and we had a good time.

We went there for dinner on a Saturday night. The place was packed. We do have reservation, so no waiting. We bought some cold brew at the coffee ship downstairs and were told no outside drinks, kind of inflexible. Had to finish it before we can be seated. Once seated, the service is very good. Server is friendly, patient and attentive. We ordered chicken wings, fries for appetizers; sasim and Macedonia crusted fish for main dish. Honestly, all the dishes are just OK, nothing really stands out, probably on the level of cheese cake factory.

Came here just for the mai tai after a recommendation from a friend. We came at happy hour and there was no seating available inside, outside, or the bar. It was 30+ minutes just for the bar seating for 2. But, they said we could order at the bar and stand at the little counter along the balcony railing by the hostess stand to try the mai tai during happy hour. This was exceptionally crowded with people knocking into us a lot while waiting for tables, hostess, etc. so less than ideal atmosphere. The staff was kind to give us the option and the bartender was very quick, friendly, and shared how to best enjoy their version. The drink was the best mai tai we have had. The mai tai is a bit more bitter than others, but paired with the most luscious and sweet lilikoi foam balanced it and made it a perfect treat. That said, the volume was quite small for the price ($16 happy hour, $20 regular price) since the glass was bulky and there was quite a bit of ice. Summary: its amazing to try and maybe have as a special treat, but there are others that do the lilikoi foam and give 2+ times the volume for half the price.

My best meal during my trip to Maui. Great menu with lots of creative options. Pizza for my son and he loved it. Easy walk from the Wailea resorts. Live music that was fun but not too intrusive. Very popular spot so make a reservation or be prepared to wait.

Wow. I'm pretty skeptical about nice restaurants that have a claim to fame for quality, freshness and originality .. but this place really delivered! Our waitress, Eryn, was fantastic- very friendly, knowledgeable, easy going, and attentive. Our menu.. ahhh. Just so diverse, unique, fresh, and flavorful. We had the roasted chicken wings to start, which were a refreshingly flavorful and unique take on the traditional wing appetizer. We normally can't have wings (typically fried) at a seaside place like this because of a shellfish allergy (they use the same oil) but the "roasted" part took care of that problem. Then shared the avocado cucumber salad (fresh, flavorful, and decently sized), followed by Jerk Chicken and Macadamia/crusted Fish entrees. All of this with the house specialty Mai Thai and mezcal cocktails. Every.Single.Thing we had was flavorful and fresh. Hands down worth whatever wait!!!

    Pork tacos delicious.

Friendly service from the hostess all the way to the waitresses and everyone involved. We went to wailea to check it out. Busy restaurant and it's smaller than I thought. I wish the tables were not so close to each other but oh well... The food was amazing! The drinks and the dessert! Wow !!!! Highly recommended! And the bill wasn't too bad! Ambiance was loud but energetic and cool! We ordered the strawberry pie to go and ate at the hotel in bed! So so good.

As I have always done for so many years, once landing on Maui and getting my rental car, I drive straight to Monkeypod for my first island mai tai and poke tacos (they never disappoint). My visit yesterday was no different and made even better by the two best bartenders-Jen & Jake. The Mai tai(s) okay so I had 2 were amazing! But Jen & Jake welcomed me back to Maui like I was family....I'm a lifer at MP....thank you for being so wonderful

Really fun restaurant. Like the friendly service. Happy Hour 7 days a week! Highly recommend shrimp/ mushroom dumplings. Fried and sautéed great combo of mushrooms and shrimp. Sauce is incredible. The Mai Tai's are so delicious ! Very delicious Caesar salad from up country growing locally the salad dressing made here... Pita bread included with the salad, completely delicious and savory garlicky and fresh at the same time. We ordered the Sea Bass sautéed in Miso with veggies. A very positive experience! 5 stars! When in beautiful Wailea, please visit this lovely restaurant .

Our first dinner in Maui on our first day. Made the reservation a few weeks before we flew. I felt we we're treated right and special. Our server made recommendations that we considered. It did not disappoint. Poke taco- the best appetizer for us. We returned here on our last day just for this. Fish is fresh and the sauce is spot on. Strawberry cream pie- is also very good. Not overly sweet. Perfect to finish a good meal. Banana cream pie- good too but strawberry is the best for me. Grilled ahi steak- cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Gnocchi- this is made fresh, but very heavy in my opinion. I think the olive oil is too much. Lamb- seasoned well and cooked just right. It's tender. They can get busy, the music I think is on the medium side. Highly recommended! If you don't make it to Mama's fish, it's okay. Go here instead. Tip: Better to call and make reservations, although walked in is welcome and you'll be seated in a good amount of time.

    Yes.

    Are there walk ins?

Yes, you might have to wait but actually got in on a Friday night.

Working in customer service means you don't let a bad day trickle down to your guests, and unfortunately, that's exactly how this experience felt. As for the food, it was just okay--nothing memorable. What really stood out (in a bad way) was the pricing. Charging $17 for a burger and then an additional $5 just to add lettuce and tomato feels like nickel-and-diming customers. At that point, just price the burger at $22 and be upfront about it--it's a much better experience than feeling upcharged for basic toppings. I don't know what I'll do if I lose Nick's Maui. But I dither, Nick's Fishmarket Maui is in an incredible location inside the Fairmont Kea Lani and it's setting alone would be enough to pull me back even if the food was just okay. Thankfully the food is MUCH better than "just okay", it is generally outstanding. I rotate starters and salads because there are so many great choices. The Caesar Salad is about as good as they get, but I really, really like the Maui Greek Salad. With at least four people we start with the Seafood Tower, but find it just too big for two of us. Other than that the Kalua Pig Pot Stickers, Charred Octopus, Crab Cakes and Blackened Ahi are the starters I rotate through. For my Main, I am less eclectic. I have a hard time getting away from the Diver Scallops and Scampi. I have tried other dishes, the Abalone, Kona Lobster and Ribeye (I know, I know, who orders steak in a seafood restaurant), but I keep coming back to. For Dessert, I am also in a rut, but I love desserts they set on fire and in this case it is Bananas Foster. I do sneak bites off my DW's Creme Brulee, as does off my BF. The service is terrific, attentive without being intrusive. I used to joke about the Chicago store that if you knocked a spoon off the table someone would catch it before it hit the floor. The Maui service isn't quite that attentive and I am not sure I would want it to be.

We also ordered the B&B ahi which was also delicious and fresh and ever so slightly seared. Both are worth the trip and the money. From there we started to feel like second class citizens. Hubs ordered the lamb while I had mahi mahi tacos (I didn't have a huge appetite). I would not order the tacos again. Table next to us raved about them and although the tortilla and the fish were fresh, the 'blackened' seasoning did me in. Overkill on a nicely cooked piece of fish - hard pass. Lamb, although cooked properly, (and I thought interestingly presented but) hubs is a meat guy and felt all the additions - sauce, relish, goat cheese - was overkill. Have to also say he didn't enjoy the waiter taking his knife to hand prepare a bite the way he thought it should be eaten. We barely saw him after that which further soured the experience. He vanished after the big ticket part of the meal (the 82$ lamb) and mentioned a comped panna cotta for our anniversary after we'd ordered a paid desert. Oops we owe you that next time (but you'll take our money today) Our food runner was great! Super upbeat, always with a smile. Bar area was relatively quiet until it wasn't. We wouldn't spend $350 this way again but would sit at the bar for sashimi and bounce.

I enjoyed both of the dessert options we tried. They were the perfect end to the meal. What really touched me was the staff's attention to detail. They remembered it was our babymoon and took the time to congratulate us, which made the evening feel even more personal and special! We had a stunning view of the water, and watching the sunset from our table was gorgeous! It is easily one of the best spots on the island for a romantic evening! We enjoyed the atmosphere so much that we returned the next morningfor breakfast. The omelette was prepared perfectly. It was served with a tropical frit mix that I enjoyed a lot! I had the best papaya I have ever tried! From start to finish, the service was top notch! The entire time made sure we were well taken care of!

There is free guest parking, so that was nice. We ate outside, so the ambiance and lighting was nice and romantic. Service was attentive. For our anniversary, they gave us a complimentary bite that included caviar, and they decorated our dessert with the words "Happy Anniversary," so these were nice touches that made us feel special. The meal was a $150 per person for a 3 course dinner. For my starter, I got the hamachi crudo, which was perfection! The fish pieces were so large, fresh, and soft, and the mango relish inside added a great flavor. The star fruit on top made the dish so pretty, and it was so tasty! I tried my fiancé's scallop, which was cooked perfectly. Bread was included in the meal, and it was warm and soft and came with this lavender butter, which was tasty, although the salt was too concentrated in the butter in some sections For the entrees, I got the poached lobster, and my fiancé got the grilled kanpachi. The lobster was tender, and it also came with mussels, shrimp, and veggies. The dish was flavorful, but small. I tried my fiancé's kanpachi, which was solid but was too salty and not as tender as I prefer. For dessert, I tried the poni cheesecake. This dessert was just average in my opinion because the cheesecake lacked flavor (didn't taste like cheesecake or ube). The crust also had a coconut taste, which I didn't prefer. The texture of the cheesecake was light and satisfying. Overall, would give this place 4/5 stars, but increased to 4.5 due to the special touches for our anniversary.
