An absolute gem. First of all, everyone was ordering prime rib and we didn't, so keep that in mind - seems very popular. However, my wife and I were in the mood for seafood. We ordered the lettuce wraps as an appetizer and just wow - there are not words to describe the best lettuce wraps I've ever had. The chicken wasn't diced, it was a sliced chicken thigh. The hoison marinade was great, all the parts of the wraps were so fresh and tasty, the peanut sauce was perfect, and the portion size was enormous. The Marry Me Mahi was great - every part of it was perfect. The poke nachos were fantastic and ENORMOUS. Their kids catch of the day (Ono) was tasty but probably the only thing that came across as overpriced. We went on a quiet Wednesday, the restaurant looked about 1/3 full and there were 2 wait staff and a hostess working and they were so attentive and friendly. 09/18: Came here with a group of 6 on a Friday night and had reservations at 7pm. We waited about 20 min to get our food orders in and didn't get our food until 8:05. Don't get me wrong, the staff were VERY sweet and kind when we were able to interact with them, but for most of our dinner, we were sitting around waiting for someone to come on out. Seemed like there may have been some miscommunication between staff about who was handling our group. Food was good, but definitely not worth such a long wait. It was lukewarm when we got it. Arrived a little after 6:00p on a Monday night with a party of 7. By the time we ordered, they were down to 2 or 3 slices of prime rib - 2 were medium well, 1 was medium-rare. So I went ahead and ordered the medium-rare. Unfortunately when it came out, it was medium/medium-well and the edges were well-done. I had to send it back bc $55 for that 8oz cut was just not okay. Really should've taken a picture of it for this post. Went with the poke nachos instead and sadly a lot of the tuna poke was stringy and fell short of a decent poke. A New Favorite in Wailea! So good I'm going back on Saturday night. Eating at the same place twice on our vacation. It's that good. We've found our new go-to spot in Wailea, and it's not close. From the moment the first dish hit the table, it was clear this place operates on a different level, every single item we ordered was outstanding, without a single miss. One quick note: they don't have their liquor license yet, so it's BYOB for now. Honestly? We loved it. There's something refreshing about a restaurant that doesn't need alcohol to carry the evening, the food does all the talking here. (And bringing your own bottle means you can pair it exactly how you like.) We already know we're going back tomorrow. If you're looking for the best meal in Wailea, hands down, this is it. The Caesar's Salad with chicken was a beautiful meal. The French Dip was hearty, and the crispy onions added the flare to make it elevated. We tried a mix of things: the spicy tuna panko roll (super crispy on the outside with fresh tuna inside), prime rib (English cut, cooked perfectly and very tender), grilled mahi in lobster sauce (rich with flavor and textures, loved the sauce. it was their special of the night), and the goat cheese salad with added hoisin chicken (nice balance of savory and fresh, chicken was deliciously flavored). For dessert, the cinnamon toast crunch banana bread was so delicious -- warm, sweet, and really unique. The piña colada mocktails were easily some of the best mocktails I've had. This was our second visit, and we're still impressed by the quality of the food and the friendliness of the service. The prime rib, again, was wonderful. The Hawaiian cut (8 oz.) is probably plenty, especially if you're not planning to take any home. I really liked my grilled ono special with butter sauce, though I would have appreciated a lighter alternative. The other choice was a lobster sauce that was even heavier. The outdoor patio is a nice space, though it was a bit warm, even at 7:00. I think that's because it's walled off with little opportunity for breeze. What a gem of a restaurant. The menu is fantastic and full of unique, tempting dishes. There were so many items I wanted to try that it was honestly difficult to decide what to order. The Prime Rib was outstanding--perfectly cooked, tender, and incredibly flavorful. The Hoisin BBQ Ribs were another highlight: a huge portion with fall-off-the-bone meat, the perfect amount of sauce, and just the right balance of savory and sweet flavors. We went for lunch a couple of days ago and the experience wasn't great and we won't be back. First off, the restaurant is clean, modern and nice inside. Second, the place was nearly empty at 12:30pm on a Tuesday, but the service was lacking. The server didn't refill our water jug after offering to do so. The app took 20 minutes to come out and then another 20-30 minute wait for entrees. The poke nacho chips were so oversalted that I couldn't eat them - also, very little poke in the dish. My husband had The French dip sandwich - the provolone cheese had a funky taste and smell. The beef was very dry. My sons ate their poke bowls but both said it was a bit fishy and the Island Gourmet Market poke was way better. Sadly, my potato crusted mahi mahi fish tacos were a complete letdown - extremely dry and unseasoned. I only ate one. We left disappointed and unsatisfied. I'm surprised the restaurant has such a high rating - lots of work to be done for this newer restaurant. We went here for dinner and it was so good we had to come back the very next day for lunch. Dinner was outstanding. I had the Prime Rib, perfectly prepared--tender, flavorful, and exactly what you hope for. My wife ordered the fish special and it was exceptional. For dessert, we shared the Banana Bread... absolutely amazing. Lunch somehow managed to live up to (and maybe even rival) dinner. We split the Caesar Salad and the French Dip--both were excellent. For dessert, we shared the mango cheesecake, which surprisingly gave the Banana Bread a real run for its money. This was our first time dining at Hide Away by Aloha in Wailea, and we went with friends for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of the food and the generous portions--especially by Hawaii standards. Everything felt fresh and thoughtfully prepared. We started with the coconut shrimp, which came with four jumbo shrimp. The shrimp themselves were excellent, though the coconut coating was a bit over-fried and darker than expected. We also ordered the chicken wing wrap, which was extremely delicious and fresh. Interestingly, it was made with well-marinated chicken thighs rather than wings, but the meat was juicy, tender, and paired beautifully with a peanut sauce. The onion rings weren't my favorite since they were made from shredded onions instead of traditional rings, though the batter and dipping sauce were quite good. The standout appetizer for us was the ahi sushi roll with panko crust--absolutely hit the spot and was easily the best starter of the night. For entrées, all four of us ordered the prime rib, served with mashed potatoes, asparagus or creamed spinach, and au jus, cooked from rare to medium-well. The beef was good, though not exceptional if compared to a steakhouse like Ruth's Chris. The creamed spinach was decent but could have used more Parmesan cheese to add depth, and a pinch of nutmeg would have elevated it nicely. The "Marry Me" mahi mahi was beautifully done--flaky, flavorful, and topped with a crust, served alongside panko-crusted artichoke. The dish was surrounded by a red wine sauce that was tangy and sweet; however, it felt a bit overwhelming in quantity and would have worked better as a reduced sauce. Overall, it's a very nice restaurant in Wailea with a friendly atmosphere. One small comfort note: the wooden chairs are quite hard, and cushions would make longer dining much more enjoyable. It was also a bit noisy where we were seated near the entrance. Our server, Nellie, was accommodating, professional, and genuinely pleasant, which added to the overall experience. We have had three great dining experiences here in a couple weeks so we've really got to give the Hideaway a shoutout. Their prime rib is tender and juicy and they offer it in many small and large cuts with delicious side choices and ample au jus. Tonight we tried their chicken lettuce wraps which were also delicious with fresh ingredients, an expert teriyaki hoisin sauce in a surprisingly large portion size. A few nights ago we loved their Mahi Mahi also with a perfect piccata sauce, fresh carrots and great mashed potatoes. Lastly and most importantly the owners and staff here (Shelby, Chef Al, Sasha, Aloha and others we met) are warm and could not be more welcoming - that really makes the whole experience great.
