Recommended by a friend, we decided to give it a try on the way to happy hour. We ordered online for pickup - took about 10 minutes from the time of the order. Was hot and ready when we arrived. I'm actually really surprised at the ratings here - the only decent thing we had was the mahi mahi fish and chips - the tacos were loaded but totally flavorless. The salsa was nice but honestly shouldn't be something that "saves" a taco. Also the slaw that comes with the mahi mahi was super bland. I called in a Take out order for Mahi Mahi Fish & Chips. Sadly the price went up from what I thought was possibly $18 to now $20 + tax. As a resident, they were able to give a 15% off discount but with tax still totaled to $19. When you enter, the register is right in front of the door which makes it way easier now and I was greeted with aloha. The Breaded Mahi Mahi fish was deliciously breaded and crispy. I forgot to ask for Malt Vinegar but was able to squeeze some lemon juice and dip in their homemade tartar sauce. I also asked for some Tiger sauce to give it that sweet and tangy flavor to the fish. The fries have this delicious spice blend on it but wish it was a tad crispier. The Coconut Milk Cole slaw is a refreshing side dish to the whole meal. I was told they have a happy hour between 2:30-4:30 pm so I'll definitely have to check it out next time. Sounds more budget friendly for sure! If you love fish, this is a good spot. This is our favorite place in Kihei to get fish tacos. This trip we stopped by here twice. Every year they are just as good as the year before. They upped their game this year with providing neat little trays. I always ask for my salsa and tomatoes on the side, and this year they came in little metal containers. Mine even had a very small amount of avocado! Their cole slaw is particularly delicious. 2) Coconut shrimp. Their coconut shrimp appetizer was lightly battered and the sauce had a nice mango flavor. The batter certainly had a coconut flavor to it. It was not too oily and not too heavily battered. 3) Spicy ahi poke. I also tried their spicy ahi poke appetizer and it was very nicely flavored (albeit pricey even for Hawaii). Nicely decorated, casual place. Free water cups. I am happy that this place is still around. We stopped in a couple of weeks ago we decided to go for lunch. We ordered the poke nachos and the fish taco mountain. The poke nachos are a new addition and we enjoyed those. The chips were crisp and well prepared. The fish taco mountain is something I have been ordering here for years since they first opened. So I know how it should look and taste. This was excellent the fish was fresh and tender and the seasoning was spot on. This is why I drive halfway across the island. The service was friendly quick and efficient. Like the way they redid the place . Where the soda machine and wall hide the kitchen and the new pictures are nice. It gives the place a cleaner feel.
