We stopped here for dinner on our first night in Maui, and it set the bar pretty high. The wait for food was a bit long, but honestly--it paid off. We went all in on the pork belly (no regrets ) and ordered the pork belly fried rice and the garlic noodles with pork belly. Both dishes were packed with flavor and super satisfying. The pork belly on the garlic noodles had that perfect crispy edge with a tender, melt-in-your-mouth center--easily the highlight. We went on a Sunday night, and the place had a fun, lively vibe. There are tables available, but it does get busy, so come with a little patience. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. read more

I've been a repeat customer because I always enjoyed the grilled ono sliders, but this visit was a huge disappointment. The menu photo shows thick pieces of ono, and that's how they've always been served in the past. This time, the fish was paper thin and barely filled the bun. It definitely wasn't worth the price. I politely asked why the ono was so thin, and I was told, "They're sliders, that's why they're thin." I explained that I've ordered these many times before and they've never looked like this, but my concern was dismissed. I understand portions can vary, but this was a drastic difference from what I've received before. Loyal customers notice when quality and portions change. Unfortunately, after this experience, I won't be returning. read more

If you remotely like pork belly- this is the place for you. We ordered the garlic noodle with pork belly, pork belly bao and pork belly with rice. All three dishes were fabulous - the pork belly was so well breaded and fried in the noodle and rice dish- crispy while maintaining the soft melt in your mouth texture. The pork belly in the bao has a different texture than the other two dishes- more braised like but has that beautiful melt in your mouth effect. I wish i could eat this kind of food everyday- but pork belly is an occasional food. When i come back to maui- happy belly will be my first stop after the airport read more

We just spent 2 weeks on Maui and ordered Happy Belly 3x for dinner to the Wailea resorts. Drunken noodles, fried rice, pork bao buns, garlic noodles - all are spectacular and very well priced! The food arrived piping hot and with all necessary utensils. Until next time, Happy Belly! read more

We took night stroll in Kihei road and Yelp Happy Belly food truck . It's an Asian Fusion Buns and rice and wow the food was amazing. Input your order in their screen and pay at the same time . Very convenient. It isn't too busy since it's almost 8pm. So I got their Pulled pork slider with coleslaw, and sauce very tasty. The bun is soft and toasty on top. The Crispy pork bowl is so crispy not too oily . With rice it blended well , cucumber salad makes it refreshing. I would recommend this place for a night out of Kihei food truck experience. Ambiance ... Hawaiian breeze read more

The sliders were good, however the highlight for us was the Crisp Pork Belly. It came with rice, cilantro and a cucumber salad. The lobster fried rice was pretty good as well, but that pork belly is chef's kiss! read more

Staying in Kihei for the weekend and no plans for dinner yet, except for much needed R & R until we leave the hotel to get food. I checked Yelp and came across Maria's photo of the pork belly plate, that looked so good, then I did research on social media, Yelp photos, reading reviews and I am sold! Happy Belly it is! Not knowing where Happy Belly is located, I just know it is near the hotel, but what a bonus, that HB is located at South Maui Garden, I get to explore South Maui Garden before stopping at Happy Belly! Look for the Yellow Happy Belly Food Truck, I spot it right away on our walk around the premises, I already knew what I wanted to get , if paying by cash you place order at the window and credit cards are the self serve kiosk. Ordering was simple, wait was kind of long for food, due to how popular and busy Happy Belly was on a Saturday night. I wish I could order more but we were still full from late lunch & snacking. Happy Belly is your go to for delicious Asian fusion in Kihei, they have variety of slider buns, bao, noodles and rice bowl, made with the freshest ingredients. Although the panang curry with chicken katsu was on my mind to order too, I have to try this next time since I had chicken cutlet for lunch. I went with the pork belly rice plate (14.95) and lobster fried rice (22.95) . We enjoyed our plates back at our room and the verdict, YUMS., super tasty and our belly was for sure happy! My other half mentioned he enjoyed this meal more vs. where we went for lunch. I loved that pork belly, cooked just right, melts in your mouth so tender and with a nice crisp with fat belly. I loved the cucumber salad, I add the sauce from that on to my rice. The lobster fried rice was also so tasty delish! I have nothing bad to say about our meals, except for I am coming back again even if we don't stay at Wailea, I would ask my hubby to take me back here when we visit Maui again. All in all, 5 stars, made our belly happy and full. Check it out, I know your belly will be happy too! read more

Food was delicious and it's in an outdoor food truck court. Typical ambiance. Prices were decent. Be sure to check out the other side. I was happy with the food as it hit the spot for what I was craving. Workers were nice but I didn't hear them call my name so be sure to check if your food is done. You're sitting outdoors and there may be transients checking the trash for food. read more

Another trip to Maui and four trips to Happy Belly! We ordered a panoply of dishes over the visit. A most favorite are the Ebi sliders. Fresh, crunchy, tender and great flavor. Panang Curry was tasty. We ordered it with the Deep Fried Pork Belly- crunchy and tasty. Ordered the Deep Fried Pork Belly over rice with a delicious sauce - sweet, salty with a little heat. The last day we ordered the Drunken Udon with Shrimp, Ebi Slider, and the Pork Bao Buns. The two new dishes the Udon was super tasty, with texture and excellent vegetables and shrimp. And the Baos... I had to fight my daughter to get a couple of bites. The pickle vegetables added a brightness. Overall obviously another great set of experiences. read more

We loved the fish sliders! We got the grilled option and they were amazing -- big slabs of fish with creamy coleslaw and a soft buttery bun. The fries were okay. The dipping sauce was unique! The fried rice was also really yummy and tasty, a hint of curry and sweet with the pineapple and raisins. read more

Delicious Asian food from this food truck. Food 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere 3 Cost to worth it rating: 3 Opentableable: no Return worthiness: yes! Highlights: - Udon drunken noodles: Thai kee mao but instead of thick flat rice noodles they used udon. Super duper flavorful and I chose to add shrimp which were plentiful and a great size. 5 stars - Pork belly bao: 2 to an order with a soft open faced bao and tender slab of pork belly with a bit of savory sauce. Also d lish. 5 stars - Lychee iced tea: nice option fountain drink style with 2 lychees, though a bit sweet. 4 stars - Thai lady: my dad was thrilled to speak his native tongue with her. - On DoorDash so available for pre order pickup or delivery Midlights: - Not in the main food truck garden complex but next door - Allow some time as dishes are fresh made to order so can take a bit Lowlights: - They didn't have Coke but the competitor and I'm a big Coca-Cola loyalist Loved this lunch meal and will be back! read more

I decided to try Happy Belly on a whim a couple of months ago as I wanted to try something different. Their Asian fusion menu incorporates Thai, Chinese, local favorites, and more to create an interestingly unique combination of dishes. From bao buns to sliders to udon drunken noodles, there's something for everyone. I have tried a handful of dishes and so far, I have loved every single one. * The pork belly rice bowl is a Thai style, crispy pork belly that is cooked to perfection. The thin coat of flour gives it a nice crispy outer layer and the meat is just so tender and delicious! It comes with a sweet chili sauce that I like to dip the pork in for that extra dose of flavor. * The udon drunken noodle comes with a handful of protein choices. So far I've tried the shrimp and crispy pork belly and both pair very well with the noodles. It's stir fried with veggies and has the perfect amount of spice. * The katsu panang curry is a fusion dish based on the locally loved chicken katsu curry dish. The katsu served over a bed of rice and topped with onions, bell peppers, peas, and carrots. Panang curry sauce is served on the side and is meant to be poured over the whole dish. This dish is the absolute winner here for me! I'm so glad my other half decided to try this dish because I fell in love at first bite. The katsu is perfectly friend and wow, I've never had panang curry before and I don't think I'd want it any other way now. SO GOOD! I can see why this dish is their best seller. No one else does it and I highly recommend it! Their slogan is "happiness is a full belly" and I truly agree. My belly is always happy when I have a meal here! Everything is packed with flavor and just the right amount of spice for me (for those that love spicy, probably want to ask for Thai spicy, haha). Everything seems to be made fresh to order and they give you buzzer while waiting. Don't sleep on this food truck. They're banging out quality dishes at reasonable prices! read more

Wow. Just wow. Honestly, easily my most favorite take out meal I've EVER had. The freshness of the shrimp, down to the presentation and flavor. Amazing. I'm bummed I only found this truck the last 2 days of my trip. Had I discovered it sooner I probably would've eaten here every day for either lunch or dinner. I definitely had it the last 2 days. Once for dinner, and once for lunch today. I will keep supporting this small business each time I return to the island. read more

Happy Belly might have been my favorite meal from my entire trip to Maui - seriously, so good. We ordered the Lobster Fried Rice, Pork Belly Bao, Garlic Noodles with Pork Belly, and the Drunken Udon with Shrimp - and every single dish was a hit. The flavors were bold, perfectly balanced, and packed with umami. The Pork Belly was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the noodles (both garlic and udon) were absolutely addictive. And that Lobster Fried Rice? Just next level. You can't go wrong with anything from this food truck. This place has such a fun, laid-back vibe, but the food is on definitely up there with the upscale spots. Don't skip it - Happy Belly definitely lives up to the name. read more

Great grub! I recommend the udon drunken noodle plate. Stir fried udon noodles with red bell pepper, white onion, peas and carrot, basil, chill basil sauce. Just that slight touch of spice made it so good. I highly recommend the crispy pork belly. Excellently prepared. It's like they slice it up first and then fry it because it was crispy all the way through and on the sides. So good. Service was great. Pay and you get a pager. There's a few benches under a make shift covering. It was pretty hot out so that shade helped a lot. The area looks pretty dingy but it was a great meal. read more

We found Happy Belly just outside of the Kihei Food Oasis and were tempted by the delicious smells. They offer a variety of Asian fusion foods like fried rice, noodles, and baos. There are also slider options if that's more your style. We came in between lunch and dinner hours so we just got a Pork Belly Rice to share. I wish we had more stomach space to try other items because it was really tasty! The pork belly was perfectly crispy and didn't feel too greasy. The sweet and tangy sauce also provided a great balance to the savory meat. read more

Happy Belly is a delicious food truck that you should definitely swing by, if you're in the area. Earlier today, I got the Pork Belly Bowl and it arrived fast, piping hot, delicious and tender. It's a simple dish that really hit home for me, especially since I grew up eating this during my childhood. I couldn't help, but smile after each bite. The pork was cooked to perfection with the right amount of crisp, juice and flavor. I was a little lukewarm about with the dipping sauce, but it was still a great meal! There's a small dining area in front of the truck, or you can take it to-go to a nearby beach. Both great options to enjoy this fantastic meal by Happy Belly! read more

Confession - I've been here 4 times in the last couple of weeks, it quickly became a favorite. Consistently awesome, and wayyyy mo bedda pa nang than every Thai place from Kihei to Kahului. Definitely impressive! I can tell and taste that this chef has something special, perhaps it's experience , special training, lots of practice and cooks from the heart - a RARITY. I could be wrong, but at this stage I highly regard this place and hope it is consistent- I'll be trying everything on the menu. I usually get the chicken katsu panang, thought I've also had the drunken noodles, and found both to be pretty great, particularly the pa nang, one of my favorites dishes. I got it with medium spice, and it was PERFECT, which many places get wrong for some reason. The flavor of the dish works very well. One thing I also noticed is the more eco friendly and healthier to go boxes that they use- awesome, less microplastic and toxins. The food was very fresh. Definitely among my favorites places on Maui, and my only choice for a real Thai curry. read more
