Located behind Lahaina Gateway in a food truck pod just behind Foodland, this was the freshest Thai we had had in a very long time. Lovely swing bench decorated for Christmas and two tidy picnic tables shaded and nestled in a pretty little setting by the truck. The area was adorable and very nicely serviced immedately after each seating. We avere greeted warmly and checked on for anything else we needed during the meal. We had: Chicken Salad - Larb Gai - freshly prepared with deliciously bright flavors Crispy Pork Belly - carefully prepared and well presented - the crispiest pieces EVER, wow! Pad Se-ew - wide wok fried noodles served piping hot, yum! The food and service were truly outstanding, well done!

Spring Rolls

Ohana Thai Maui is an absolute gem and a must-stop food truck while on the island. From the food to the service, everything about this spot delivers comfort, flavor, and great island vibes. We started with the spring rolls, which were perfectly crispy on the outside with a savory, flavorful filling inside--golden, crunchy, and so satisfying. The chicken pad thai was excellent, featuring tender chicken, perfectly cooked noodles, and a well-balanced sauce that was savory with just the right touch of sweetness. The beef drunken noodles were the standout for me. The beef was tender, the wide noodles were cooked perfectly, and the dish had the right amount of heat--bold and flavorful without being overpowering. Every bite was rich and comforting. We also ordered jasmine rice, which was fluffy, fragrant, and the perfect base to soak up all the delicious sauces. On top of the great food, the service was friendly and welcoming, and the overall ambience and vibe were relaxed, casual, and full of aloha--exactly what you want from a Maui food truck experience. Generous portions, incredible flavors, and warm hospitality make Ohana Thai Maui a place we'd happily return to again and again.

An unassuming venue with food as good (if not better) than anything else you can find on the island. Will be on our list of places to stop each time my family and I are in Lāhainā!

Pad Thai + Spicy Tom Yum Shrimp

The food was so authentic and yummy. The pad Thai wasn't dry at all, honestly the best I've ever had. Service was good and the spot was cozy to sit at and eat. Tom yum was super flavorful!

Delicious spring rolls, not greasy, crisp. The drunken noodles with shrimp very good and my husband loved his pad thai. Another great food truck on island.

A food truck that should be on everyone's stop while in Lahaina!! We came on a Sunday afternoon and they were the only truck that seemed to be open. This was the best pad Thai we've had in a long time and that's coming from a couple that had some pretty good pad thai in Thailand. The right amount of sauce and tang! Freshly made by auntie! Service was fast but I can't say it would be the same if it was a lot busier. Food came out in about 10mins ish. Please come support them! We are so sad we stumbled upon them before our flight or else I would be back everyday.

Wings, great flavor

Luckily we ended up here after we could not get a seat at any of the front street restaurants. Really great food and service. We had the pad Thai, and wings, both were very good. Really clean and chill place to eat with several food truck options.

Ohana Thai Maui is the perfect stop to or from the airport. The food is incredibly fresh, bold, and comforting, and they put so much heart into every dish. Best of all, all of the food trucks here directly support the Lahaina fire victims, so your meal truly gives back to the community.

Pad Se-Ew (bottom), Thai Tea (mostly drank already, middle), Pad Thai (top)

Amazing food, service was fast and great! Definitely recommend trying Ohana Thai Maui to anyone in the area. We got the pad se-ew, pad Thai, and a Thai tea. We're no strangers to good Thai food and this was delicious and great portion sizes! It's parked behind food mart in Lahaina, we had our rideshare drop us off at Food Mart and just walked over from there which worked great, picked up some groceries after we finished eating and heading back to the hotel. Would eat here again in a heartbeat! Highly recommend to anyone looking for good Thai in the Lahaina area :)

Pad thai

Great cashew chicken and good pad Thai! Shaded areas with clean eating area and great parking! Great option for good Thai food!

Tofu Pad Thai #FTW!!

So ono. I've been trying to try new dishes, but can't move off the Tofu Pad Thai. I hope this food truck is here to stay.

Yellow Curry, Crab Rangoons, Mango Sticky Rice, Pad Thai, and more

The entire menu is excellent, all homemade as the food was steaming hot when we got it. We went here a little skeptical seeing how little reviews there were, but after eating here I can tell you that this is indeed a five star meal. The Tom Kha had amazing flavor as well as the Yellow curry. Had an amazing time, and the ambience of the outside lighting really highlighted the comfort of the area. If you're looking for authentic Thai food this is the spot to go. Thank you Ohana for the excellent service and delicious food!

Amazing food. As a pad Thai enthusiast this has been the best I've ever tasted. Service was great.

We had a sampling of dishes last night and each were amazing. - Adobo ribs are a must try. - Vietnamese crepe is a sleeper hit. It's a crispy crepe with a coconut milk forward mix of meat and shrimp. It's lighter than it seems and fresh - Singapore Noodles are the perfect flavor balance of curry, vegetables and meat. -shrimp tempura were HUGE. They were good but I wished there was more sauce. - pork buns were really good, especially with the daikon and pickles. Our server was also really good, fast and efficient. Malasadas for dessert were amazing. For four of us and a toddler, it was about $250 with tip. Not much different than Seattle prices.

My wife and I had heard about Star Noodle so much that it was time we finally tried it - our reservation was for 4:45 and we were promptly seated at a table for two with a view of the water. We decided to try a few starters, then move onto an entree or two. Steamed pork buns: the softest, fluffiest, bao bun we've ever had (you can order 3 or 4 to an order.) plenty of pork and veggie filling, and very tasty all around...these are a signature dish, so I recommend ordering if nothing else. Sticky adobo ribs: another solid offering - the adobo was tangy and tasty, and the outer texture of the rib was a little crunchy as if they briefly flash-fried it before serving. I'd definitely recommend this dish as a second appetizer... Green beans: I wanted to be a fan, but the dish lacked any flavor. In retrospect, I would have asked for some type of drizzled sauce to help amp it up a bit. But it's a light, clean, dish that you may want to try if you're sampling healthier items...

The crab fried rice is phenomenal. Unlike many places that skimp on the crab, this dish is loaded with real lump crab that you can actually see and taste in every bite. The flavor is amazing, the portion is generous, and the price is very reasonable for the quality and amount of crab you get. Another thing I love is the location. The food truck is inside a mall, so you can enjoy your meal in a comfortable air-conditioned space without having to deal with the Maui heat. Great food, great value, and a comfortable place to eat. This hidden gem deserves far more attention than it's getting. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend giving it a try.

The lady taking the order immediately gave my husband and I attitude, for no reason. She seemed miserable and almost as though every time we ordered a dish she got madder and more frustrated with us....again, for no reason. We ordered $110 worth of food (and even left an 18% tip) that we were taking back to my family at the hotel. I bought chili for $1.50 and she took it from my hand and said she would put it in the bag. When our food was ready I asked "Is the chili in the bag?" She looked straight in my eyes and said "Yes, I put two in there for big order, ok" I trusted her (shouldn't have) and quickly left because being around her negative energy and attitude was making me sick. We get to the hotel and I see the chili is missing. Of course it was. She probably reused it to charge another poor soul for it after I had purchased it. The food was subpar. No one in my family was impressed and on top of that, the plates all come with a lot of rice and very little of the main dish so everyone had very small portions of everything minus rice, we had a lot of that left over. For the lie, high price, "meh" tasting food, and worst of all the bitter lady taking your order, I wouldn't recommend this place and we won't be going back here again.

Want the luau food experience without paying for the actual luau show? This is a great option!…read more It's an outdoor restaurant, so definitely dress accordingly. If it's drizzling outside, you can bet you'll probably be drizzled on while eating your meal too! But the setting is beautiful, especially if you get a table around sunset--you can watch the sunset right from your seat. There are plenty of food options to choose from, along with lots of drink options. The restaurant sits right next to Old Lahaina Luau, so if you make a dinner reservation around luau time, you can even hear the luau going on next door. They had traditional Hawaiian food such as poi, lau lau, kalua, etc. Service was good as well. Overall, a fun way to enjoy some of the food and atmosphere without paying for the full luau experience!

Disappointing Experience - Overpriced for the Quality…read more I haven't been to Aloha Mixed Plate in years, and I was really looking forward to coming back. My family and I visit their sister restaurant, Star Noodle, quite often, so I was expecting the same level of quality. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. We visited today at 1:15 PM, and I have to say I left pretty disappointed. The shoyu chicken was dry, and the overall food quality just didn't match the price. For a family of five, our bill came out to $178, including soft drinks. That's a lot of money for a casual plate lunch experience. What was also disappointing was being told by our server that they do not offer a kamaʻāina discount. As a local, it's always nice when businesses recognize and support the community that supports them. I understand we live in a tourist destination, but the prices should still reflect the quality of the food and overall experience. Unfortunately, Aloha Mixed Plate felt more like an overpriced tourist spot than the local favorite I remembered. At these prices, I honestly wouldn't even recommend it to visitors. My recommendation? Save your money and head to Star Noodle instead. We go there often, and the quality and experience have been much more consistent. I really wanted to enjoy coming back, but sadly, this visit was a letdown. 3 stars.

Didn't make reservations and waited about 15 minutes for a table both times. Since it was happy hour, the food was all 50% off -- definitely a bargain, and the kalua pork & pineapple pizza was still excellent and the best dish. I was disappointed that nearly than half the draft beers are out, limiting the variety, but I was able to enjoy the only hazy IPAs available and the only witbier available (I forget the name of both). Sitting at the bar was fine, nothing very special about it -- and bar service was also just fine. Similar to the prior trip, not many draft beers were available -- so I just had the IPA again. Table service was also fine, server was friendly and attentive. We skipped the pricey farm tour (we did coffee farm tours last year and are farmed out) and went straight to the chocolate café. They will give you a five piece tasting for free, either a dark, milk, or sugar-free flight. But why would you come here and just take... When you can also give back to folks in Lahaina rebuilding? So we got two free flights, one milk and one dark. My sweetie added on a drink, a pastry, and some very tasty chocolate and salted caramel gelato. I went with a make your own alcohol pairing, which was so much fun and very reasonable. For about $17, I got a shot of coconut rum with two chocolate pairings and a shot of premium Martiniquan JM volcanic rhum Agricole with another two chocolate pairings. And then I still had my free five pieces. What an amazing taste adventure, for cheaper than the price of a cocktail at a hotel bar or even a locally owned foodie place? I don't want to mess up your tasting - so you pick your favorites! But I normally don't like rhum agricole - and the pairings were such an amazing flavor adventure. Honestly, this is my number one recommendation in West Maui. Give the folks some business and have an amazing time! Oh, and they have jazz on Sunday nights' but I'm sure it's more crowded than than popping in during the day on a weekday. Every item here at a Merienda Maui food truck was delicious. The only mistake we made was not…read moreeating here sooner, since we would have returned to try more of the menu. We selected two types of tacos, the Shrimp and the Thai Beef Tacos. The shrimp tacos are served with a cabbage slaw, a ginger sesame dressing (not a strong flavor), gochujang aioli (dominant flavor that worked well with the shrimp), and some pickled red onions on top. Somewhat simple but all flavors combine well, the shrimp stands out with the aioli, and it has a tropical sense to it. The Thai Beef Tacos use a Thai marinade on the beef (sourced from Maui, though I couldn't tell the difference from regular beef in these chunks in a taco). Beyond that it's a common taco with a tomato salad (pico de gallo), jalapeño, cilantro, and mint (rather than a common diced onion pairing). The marinade infused into each piece of beef and truly carried the dish. I would have eaten it without the garnishes, though they do help fill out the taco. I also thought this was the most basic item we ordered, and would want to try out other items before repeating this. Lastly the Phili-bistek Sando with fries was the true star of the show. It reads as a cheesesteak with bell peppers and onions, and Mayo/chimichurri sauce on top. Yet I think this meat was also marinated, since I can't conceive how much umami was oozing from this burger. It is hands down the best cheesesteak I have every had...and I've been to Philadelphia. I found other recipes online that use a soy marinade to prepare the beef (tapa beef seems to be the Filipino name), and this sounds like it tasted. There was a lot of beef pieces, we shared the burger along 3 people, and I think that the circular shape made it seem larger than if it had been on a longer hoagie bread. Onion jam rather then regular onions would keep the tastebuds working, the Japanese Mayo would introduce both tangy and sweet flavors, and the chimichurri would add parsley, cilantro, and garlic notes. The burger was messy, but worth it. And the fries were extra crispy, similar to In-N-Out double fried fries but thicker. These work perfectly with just ketchup. We considered the Umami fries, which have gochijang and Mayo and Furikake at the same time, and I think all that sauce would reduce the crispiness of the fries. I would still try it, but the fries are top notch and a quick dip in ketchup is all that is needed. The Okonomiyaki Brussel sprouts also sound like an amazing Asian take on the vegetable and something to try next time.

We were excited to try a recommendation from a blog we had seen, specifically the sisig tacos, and…read morethe crispy Taiwanese chicken. first of all, it was really hard to catch this truck while it was still open. Although they had hours that where I listed, we missed them the first time because they put up a sign that said back @ 5. The second time we caught them, it was right before they put up the back at 5 sign, and I think that's why the sisig was super tough and chewy - we got the bottom of the pot sisig haha. Anyhow, happy to report the chicken was very tasty. The fry was light, the seasoning on point and the portion was sizable. Both were plated on top of a banana leaf, which I thought was great presentation. Overall I would say it was okay, probably not something we'd hit up again, but glad we tried it!
