We ordered 3 dishes and had leftovers to enjoy again. We ordered Macadamia nut panang Curry (I love curry anytime..), Drunken noodles (Pad Ki Mao) and Thai-railway fried rice (recommended by server). All dishes were delicious, full of flavour in every bite. Our whole family enjoyed every dish. The portions are good size and the prices were ok! The servers kept to themselves. Once you get your food, they only show up with your bill and ask you how the meal was. When you view your bill, you are automatically charged 18% tip for the meal, which was a little bit of a turn off considering the service you were getting is very little.
Gonna start this with the food. If you only care about the taste of the food I would give this a 5/5. The food is pretty good, we got the tofu fried rice which was really good (yummy and authentic flavor), the calamari (kinda interesting, it's tasted more Chinese like dimsum, rather than like a Vietnamese/American calamari), the drunken noodles, the Tom Yum stir fry, and the steak. All the food was very good. Medium was the perfect spice for us, everything was cooked with lots of flavor. Nothing too greasy or salty. The reason why I give it a 3 is more for the service and ambiance. The entire time we were there, there were maybe 2 other parties yet the staff in the kitchen were laughing really loudly. Doesn't help we were sitting right next to the separator between the dining area and the kitchen. When we got our check they automatically added 18% gratuity. Mind you we were a party of 4. Wasn't a fan of this at all. Prices were alright, about $20 per plate (forgot to take a picture of the menu).
Well recommended by the Blue Book and close to our condo. Service was fast and efficient. Bottle of ice water for each table. Medium spice was just about right for us. My wife liked the pumpkin curry so much sh would not share. The Drunken Fried rice had lots of vegetables mixed in that were perfectly cook and not soggy. The Phuket fantasy was an assortment of very good seafood. Total before tip and tax including 1 beer and a Mai Thai was $85.
We came here because it was closeby and there were so many reviews. We got a variety of dishes and none of it was good. Worst Pad See Ew I've ever had in my life. The seasoning was terrible and the noodles were not good. All the dishes that were served were very mediocre. The meat was very chewy but in a bad way. I was honestly pretty disappointed because I wanted a great meal for dinner but left with disappointment.
What a great little back of the parking lot restaurant! We were a party of 6 at 5 pm on a Saturday night and were treated as if we were the only people in the restaurant. The staffs attention to detail and specifically our needs were top notch. The food is delicious! Unfortunately I forgot to snap a photo of our appetizers but the other dishes I did. Please come give this place a try you will be glad you did. Five stars!
I'm a big fan of Thai food and I self-claimed that I have pretty high standard of Thai cuisine! This Thai restaurant is above and beyond my expectation, not only authentic but also quite tasty! We finished every single dish and the service is also efficient and attentive, highly recommended!!
We were craving Thai food for dinner, and didn't feel like going out, so we ordered over the phone for pickup. I got the Drunken Fried Rice, my bf got Pad Ki Mao, and my friend and her husband got Pad Thai and some curry. We all enjoyed the food; it was all flavorful. I ordered 5 stars, and you can actually taste some spice. My friend has a lower tolerance to spicy food, so she actually thought my dish was pretty spicy. Still enjoyed it as leftovers the next day
Dinner or lunch, both are great for a nice change from eating fish on the island. The service is great and it's a chill place in the back of the shopping center.
This place serves 100% authentic Thai food. I ordered the seafood pad se ew which consists of shrimp, squid, and scallop. Absolutely delicious! The squid & scallop were so soft and not super chewy. I also ordered the Thai tea which was not that sweet and was good. The restaurant was very clean and staff were friendly. Overall id come back and recommend everyone to come here!
Very casual place. Comfortable, can wear shorts and tees! The food is excellent. Been going there for over 10 years. Every time I come to Maui I go there for dinner at lease once per trip. Had the seafood mix; scallops, prawns, calamari, mahi-mahi. So much food I had to take half home for next day. The crab wontons are excellent too! That's what I ordered this evening! Everything we've had has been good. Give it a try if you like Thai food.
Their dishes were deliciously prepared. We ordered the papaya salad, pumpkin curry with chicken, pad Thai, eggplant dish and the drunken stir fry. I enjoyed the pad Thai with shrimp the most. Service and ambiance is comparable to many like restaurants.
I was visiting the island and I saw this place near by the beach. I was disappointed , the food had no flavor whatsoever. We picked this up to have at the beach and I was sad that I had dry noodles and had no option to get a side of sauce since I didn't eat there. My partner got the fried rice and a same thing no flavor. My cousin got the pumpkin curry and that was delicious I wish I had gotten that instead.

We've owned a home in Kihei since 2015, and yet, had never been to Thai Bistro. So, today, we finally realized maybe we should give it a try? The lunchtime meal was *amazing*! I had Thai-Railway Fried Rice, which has diced, cooked NY steak chunks, in a bed of brown rice, as well as peas, carrots, scallions, Maui onions (yum!), with an egg over easy on top, with toasted onions. I dialed the spicyness at "medium". It was *perfect*! My wife had Pad Thai with chicken, and she left it at the default spicyness (medium), which ended up being too hot for her, but she soldiered on nevertheless enjoying the wonderful flavor. Perhaps because of the noodles and curry, the spiciness of the Pad Thai seemed much stronger than the Thai-Railway fried rice dish. Of course, we had leftovers and I'll probably end up eating hers, and she'll eat mine. The service was prompt, and the girl waiting on the tables was courteous, with a beautiful smile. The restaurant is deceptively roomy, seeming to be smaller from the outside, but once inside, it was quiet, clean, with comfortable chairs, clean tables, and large windows to enjoy some of Kihei's views (like today's gentle rain). As with most things these day on Maui, where everything comes in a shipping container, food costs are very noticable. Our meal, including thai ice tea and a soda, with a coconut ice-cream to finish it was about $44/person. Not cheap, but also not as bad as, say, Tommy Bahamas. read more
This is a tucked away Thai restaurant. It has parking around it but you may need to drive all the way around to get a place to park. The food is prepared well and there are plenty of options. The table service is great and they bring you a cool bottle of water to pour. Appropriately lit for a romantic scene with someone or just to enjoy your meal. One thing that is obvious is there a/c is set at a higher setting (81 when we were here) and you might need to fan yourself when you get in from outside. Managment please just turn down the A/C a bit and you will most likely get five stars. Thanks for a nice lunch meal. read more

Our second time to this restaurant. Food was very good with generous portion sizes. Service was fine, considering there was only 1 person working the busy dining room. Had a nice German Riesling that paired well with the food. Having spent time eating authentic Thai food in Northern Thailand, I consider this Americanized Thai food, with heavier and bolder flavors than what we had in Chiang Mai. read more

Just wanted to add another dish to try. Their famous Kao Soy noodles. Kind of like laksa. Ramen noodles, chopped cucumbers, tomatoes and red onion with some crispy noodles. The broth is like yellow coconut curry. Very tasty and I was very pleased with my lunch. Also got a Thai tea and that was great as well. read more

Everything was wonderful. The service was friendly and helpful. The space was clean and open and not too crowded while we were there, early on a Sunday evening. The food was delicious! We arrived during happy hour and ordered the green papaya salad to start, and received $2 off for HH. We enjoyed the pineapple curry with ahi and the pad ke Mao with shrimp, both medium spice and asked for some extra on the side. It was the perfect temp for us and the extra allowed us to dial it in for our taste buds. Definitely recommend. read more

Wife's sister's first visit to Maui and this was her choice for first restaurant to eat in Maui. 3 of us had come in on a Sunday night at 5pm, and the place is half empty. Hard to find as at the very back of a shopping strip, not visible from the street. We sat by the window, watching perhaps a half dozen cars stop in the take out parking spot directly in front of the restaurant during our hour long stay. Good sign as these are likely locals who know a good restaurant when they see one. Wife's sister had the $20 shitake stir-fried mixed vegetables with 7 shrimp, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, baby corn, zucchini and shitake mushrooms. The oyster sauce did not add much flavor to the otherwise bland dish. Wife 's $20 tom yum stir fry came with 7 shrimp, baby corn, tomatoes, mushrooms and onions with a tom yum sauce including hot chili sauce for kick. Lots of flavor in this spicy dish for onion lovers. I got the $23 macadamia nut panang curry with short ribs. Generous serving of fall off the bone tender beef in a rich red curry with cumin and coriander flavoring. This was the most popular dish, as wife and her sister took ample portions of this spicy dish right from the start. $2 for a small portion of thin rice noodles, $3 for small portion of brown rice, and $4 large portion of wide rice noodles. Profit generators. We were supposed to share the noodles and rice, but wife's sister could not separate the rice noodles sticking together, and dumped the whole thing onto her plate. Next day wife's sister took photographs of the setting sun amid the clouds over Kamaole Beach 3, and we could not get to Coconuts Fish restaurant until 645pm, with a half hour wait standing in line for food ordering. Should have come to Coconuts Fish restaurant at 5pm on Sunday and Maui Thai Bistro at 645pm on Monday, as probably no waiting here during prime time. read more

Decent Thai food, portions were okay, the only stand out dish was their take on the Panang curry. It was so delicious and the macadamia nuts brought in a whole new flavor, it was delicious. A bit disappointed with the railway fried rice, I felt like it could've had more flavor and meat in it. Overall a decent meal. read more

Dined here on a weekend for lunch. Tried a few different dishes and shared. I ordered the green curry with chicken (medium spice) and it came with side salad and steamed rice. We had an order of tofu pad thai, crab fried rice and the beef ginger stir fry lunch plate with steamed rice and side salad. Everything was fresh, flavorful and good portion sizes. The highlight was definitely the ginger beef stir fry. Tender pieces of meat with veggies drowning in the ginger sauce. It was so good, we didn't even have a chance to take a picture of it. Lots of parking, dining area was modern and clean. Server was friendly and helpful. They offer kama'aina discount with ID. We'll be back. read more

What gem of a place. Never been here but heard how good it was. We ordered to go. Red Curry A blend of herbs and spices with the most dominant flavors stemming from varieties of dried red chilis and shallots. All proteins besides fish recommended Beef short rib (boneless), Yellow Curry A cumin, coriander and turmeric based Souther-style Thai curry. This dish carries a strong, delicious aroma and flavor with a recognizable yellow hue. it's a Vegan! Shrimp Classic Fried Rice Traditional fried rice cooked with eggs, onions, peas and carrots Protein options: Chicken, Pork, Beef, Tofu, Veggie, Shrimp, Seafood Pad Thai Stir-fried Thai rice noodles and egg with a tangy flavor, chive, bean sprouts, sprinkled with ground peanuts Again, we ordered our food to go. When we arrived to the house we realized that they forgot our pad Thai! We were too tired to go back. Anyway, we still enjoyed our food. I tried to come back in the am but realized they didn't open until 11am. Look forward to trying it out again as I missed out to enjoy the pad Thai! read more
Quick to be seated - food was really tasty - the chicken satay app was grilled to perfection and seasoned with curry thai seasoning... the veggie tom yum hit the spot and the e-san thai steak was so tender and flavorful!!! we'll def be returning before our trip ends read more

Foods and service was great. People was very friendly. The dishes was good and a lot of food. Highly recommended if you wanted good thai foods in Muai. The down fall is the restaurant is little deep in the shopping center so it hard to notice. read more

Anyone know why the green curry can't be made vegan-- on the menu pictures it says only the yellow one can?
I think it's because they use fish sauce on other curries except yellow.
