    Thai Restaurant

The food was authentic, so delicious, one of the best meals we've ever had, great service, the restaurant is really small but so worth it. If visiting Maui must try.

This was my last meal in Maui and we made sure to eat locally the 3 days we spent in Paia. Therefore, I didn't see the menu beforehand but it was close to our Air Bnb so we gave it a try. We got there about 1.5 hours before they closed and once we arrived, it took a while for someone to come out from the back. We then realized they were getting many to-go pick up orders back to back so it seemed like business was booming for them. Eventually, our server did hand us the menus with the specials for the day. It's a very small restaurant with very limited seating indoors but we were the only patrons so it didn't feel crammed. There's $5 parking directly in front or you can park a bit farther away for some free spots. For starters we split the spring rolls, pretty good nothing extraordinary. I got the Tom Yum soup with chicken and my partner got the pineapple fried rice with shrimp. Honestly, we could've gotten away with splitting the second meal because the serving was way bigger than we expected. Nonetheless, the soup was delicious and had so many different vegetables in it that I lost track. What I enjoyed most about the fried rice was it contained browned cashews and I think that really sold it for me. I like crunchy textures like nuts and i feel that it balanced out the usual softness of the shrimp. It seems like a lot of people don't dine in, rather they just come to pick up their food and head out. Either way, I'd recommend trying it out if you like Thai Food. They had many specials going on and a good variety to choose from.

Deliciously authentic! Food is excellent and so was the service. This is given the fact that 1 person is doing the hosting and order taking; it's worth the wait. She was on it with a smile and bringing everything out hot and delicious. We ordered the crab Rangoon, the spring rolls, drunken noodle and the cashew chicken, so goooood! We only wish we were in town longer so we can enjoy the restaurant again.

It's a hole in the wall restaurant with literally 5 sitting tables. The staff seemed overwhelmed and forgot to bring out silverware or dishes or thai iced tea. But they were nice and not rushing us. They also promoted take away for the extras. We got the panang curry and the pineapple fried rice. Paired with our staple thai iced tea. This was one of our top 5 thai iced teas! The portion size were huge and even after a long day at road to hana we couldn't finish the dishes. The pineapple fried rice had good flavor, the pineapple was fresh, and I liked the crunchy cashews. The parang curry was well spiced but I should have went 1 level higher and filled with nicely cooked chicken and vegetables.

My wife and I enjoy Thai food on the mild side. We started with the coconut shrimp and shared the Massaman curry, which was cooked to perfection. There was an abundance of vegetables and chicken. My Thai iced tea was flavored to my taste. The service was friendly and efficient. When we travel and are in a location for several days, we enjoy finding a local Thai restaurant. We have eaten here on previous visits and were not disappointed. We plan to return during our April visit to the Islands.

A must if visiting Paia! Some of the best Thai food I have ever had! Highly recommend the fresh spring rolls, chicken satay, green curry, pad Thai and the tom yum soup! The service was the best and the kindest sweetest woman. Thank you Thai Spice for the wonderful experience.

Thai Spice is a Thai restaurant located in downtown Paia with nearby street parking - it's a great place for takeout. We ordered 4 dishes to share and had leftovers. They were flavored and packed well as well. We were able to order on the phone and pick-up pretty quickly too. The dishes were reasonably priced and fulfilled our craving for Asian food while in Maui.

This place is the real deal! It's the best Thai food I've had in a long time, possibly ever. A casual hole-in-the-wall spot with very friendly and quick service. The small dining room has 4-5 tables inside. The pad Thai is amazing

Honesty this place's food is bussing. Been going there for some time now. Always worth the wait for the food. Not a big fan of tropical desserts HOWEVER their mango sticky rice was perfect; not too sweet and just the right combination of flavor with texture. Must checkout if you're passing through Pāʻia

Better than I remembered! Even though service sometimes can be slow and inside dining sometimes is not open, But the food is even better than I remembered. I had both the green curry & the red curry and they were both very good. Also the green papaya salad is solid and highly recommended. Take it to go, this place is tiny. But the flavor is mighty.

Food was amazing! While we were here the food inspector made a surprise visit. Said it was the cleanest kitchen he'd ever seen.

As a Thai person spending a month in Maui and eating my way through several Thai restaurants and…read morefood trucks, My Thai is the best by far! The menu has all the familiar Thai favorites, but also dishes that are hard to come by in the States. We tried quite a few things, and everything was excellent. Our favorites were the Spicy Basil (pad krapow) and Mom's Sausage (sai oua). The pad krapow comes with ground meat, as it should, and has that savory, spicy, fragrant flavor I look for. Mom's Sausage is incredibly flavorful and definitely worth ordering. The Pad Mama is another standout. It's a simple Thai comfort dish made with instant noodles, but they do it perfectly. And don't skip the mango sticky rice! The sticky rice was warm, soft, and pillowy, and the mango was perfectly ripe. Everyone here is super friendly too. The interior is cute, creative, and full of little details that show how much thought went into the place. They even play Thai country music in the background. One tip for first-timers: when you arrive, grab a menu from the check-in spot outside the restaurant, to the left of the dining area. Then head into the dining area and they'll seat you. You order through the QR code at your table and pay + tip when you place your order. Food is served in paper takeout containers. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in Maui!

They've done this twice and I can't even call them to ask them because their number doesn't work and there's no way of getting a hold of them. I wish their menu was more accurate or if that's the case, note that the fish could be substituted because what we ordered versus what we got, are definitely 2 different things. I know what tilapia costs versus pompano and if you're going to charge me $30 for fish, I would expect to get what I ordered. I messaged them through their social media since their phone doesn't work so hopefully they respond and do the right thing. We've been loyal customers and this isn't cool. Dinner takeouts are not cheap on island so when we splurge for the $30 fish, we hope to get just that.

However, when you have to wipe the dust off of your dipping bow and plate, that kinda concerns me. The outdoor tables are located under a tree. Who knows where the "dust" came from. Strike 1. Unfortunately, there were no oysters. It was actually a bit tough to find a place with oysters in Maui (shoutout to Fleetwood's). It was perfect because we ended up just wanting a light dinner, and this restaurant has tapas and small portions. Not a bang for your buck, by any means, though. I was a bit bummed because I wanted a specific appetizer (similar to a wagyu beef tataki), but they did not have it. Instead, I got the hamachi carpaccio, which was still good. I also ordered a spicy rainbow roll. You could tell that the fish was very fresh on top, but the roll itself was just decent. Not worth the $25 and it was also not spicy. I think my favorite food item was the karaage. It was crispy, tender and the sauce was the cherry on top. I am looking at the menu and I realize that a lot of these cocktails are new, which is another bummer because I would have loved to try all of them (guava mojito, spicy lilikoi mezcalita and vana colada -- yes please!) The restaurant itself is so cute! There is definitely a rustic vibe to it. It could look like a treehouse because there's a big tree in the middle and string lights. It is an outdoor restaurant, and there is an extended outdoor section as well that has a little more secluded feel. There's a bar area, but it is a bit small.

We live on the other side of the island and while we have an excellent Japanese restaurant (Takumi…read more- try the omakase) we decided to drive over to experience Nuka as it has so many fantastic reviews, and we really appreciate and enjoy Japanese cuisine. Nuka was exceptional. Authentically Japanese, the restaurant is beautifully yet serenely decorated, the staff are welcoming and well versed in the menu and flavors, and pricing is competitive for island restaurants. In fact when you know the healthy ingredients are the best available, locally grown/caught/raised and cooked to perfection it takes it up a notch. We arrived just as they opened for lunch at 11.30am and luckily managed to be seated straight away. I've read that dinner is much harder to get a table and there is a long wait so arrive accordingly ;) Parking is available in the car park next door beside the gym, free and self parking. So, what did we order?......... Grapefruit lychee spritzer - we chose the mocktail version but you can make it a cocktail too. Sooo citrusy and thirst quenching. Not sweet, zingy. Very refreshing on a hot Maui day Miso - earthy, salty, brothy, umami, steaming hot in a bowl to start off your extravaganza of a meal Shio koji cabbage - finely shredded with sesame and house milled bran and seasoning, like an elegant Japanese coleslaw, I loved it! Nasu Miso eggplant - slightly sweet because of the miso, I liked the taste but it wasn't a texture I'm used to eating, which I found a lot in Japan, eg mochi. But I can't fault the dish because of that, the miso umami was richly broiled and it was a popular dish House Nuka pickles - crunchy, fresh and sprinkled with sesame (daikon radish, carrot and cucumber), a good palate cleanser and a nice texture to complement the eggplant above. Not vinegary, just fresh Saba Nigiri - two pieces of moreish mackerel sushi, melt in the mouth with so much flavor, decent sized nigiri too Shiso Country sushi roll - on the specials list, and it was amazingly special! Ahi, habanero masago, orange masago, shaved shiso leaf, ponzu, so many flavours and textures combined into a party in the mouth, with a slight heat build as you ate it. A favourite Miso Butterfish - OMG it looked so amazing and was another popular dish, for a good reason, it is delicious. Melt in the mouth, flaky, savory cod, a nice sized serving, and the miso sauce is sooo good with the buttery fish Lilikoi ice cream - hubby only had room for one generous creamy scoop served with chocolate wafers and decorated with fresh mint. Perfect end to a delightful meal We both felt that this is definitely one of the best restaurants on island, culturally and gastronomically, pricewise and food presentation, authenticity and awareness of local produce....it all adds up to an outstanding dining experience. We will most definitely be returning even though we have to drive an hour and half to get there! "Gochisousama deshita"

Anyway I was expecting a bit lower price scale, but it is what it is. So .. For fifteen bucks plus tax and tips I got the seared salmon. The fish was nicely cooked, I enjoyed it. The vegetables were pretty meh but did help bring more of the sauce to the palate. Yes, the sauce was good, right on the verge of too much soy, but they did a good job keeping it balanced. The salmon portion size was small, but not insultingly tiny. The roast duck was really good actually. The general tsao's chicken and chicken lettuce was good, I've definitely been to other spots that were better but I don't have anything bad to say about it. What I really disliked about this place was the Seafood Bird's Nest. Initially, they thought I ordered a Seafood Delight, but my order was missing the noodles. But they basically just fried up some noodles real quick and threw it under. And that part wouldn't have been a problem for me, but it was honestly waaaay too salty (and I like really salty! so that says a lot to me) It was difficult to eat to be honest, but I of course didn't want to waste it. The seafood included 3 pieces of shrimp, about a stick of imitation crab meat, a couple small pieces of scallop, and A LOT of calamari pieces that were soooo tough to chew, we couldn't even really eat them! For the chicken lettuce, they gave us about 3 full pieces of lettuce that was cut up and then charged us $4.00 for more pieces of lettuce which is pretty pricey lol. The siu mai was mid.. but you get what you pay for. There was also a 3% additional kitchen surcharge which was weird...? Still not sure what that was for lol. And then on top of that there's another 3% charge if you use credit card, so just be aware of that. The service was fine, because there was basically no one else in the restaurant anyway. Also - my boyfriend told me they had no soap in the restroom at all which was inconvenient. Overall, the price of their food does not make sense for the level of quality. I wouldn't recommend to my peers to come here, except maybe just grab their roast duck to go.

We decided to try and save money an purchase the lunch specials which run $19-$22 dollars each. I ordered the Sweet and sour, spicy chicken with the side of fried rice. The chicken was heavily breaded but the sauce was nice. The fried rice was a dark brown mixture that didn't look like any rice I've had before. My companion ordered the curry chicken with vegetables with her side of chow mein. The curry was ok and so was the chicken but the Bell pepper needed to be cooked a little longer. The chow mein noodles were more like spaghetti noodles with seasoning. The restaurant doors were wide open and the fans were spinning and the air conditioning was turned off. I wanted to give this place a good review as I selected the place based on existing Yelp reviews but sorry can't do it.
