The food comes out fast. They said 15 minutes, but we got it an eight. Depending on when you come, it can be quite windy and it's a little bit hard to eat when it's that windy. They're also lots of bugs that like to join you so keep that in mind when you decide to eat on site or take it to go there are only porta potties on site although you could go to Costco and use their restroom so just plan ahead. There are lots of food trucks in this area at least eight. But be warned if it says it's open online, it might not be open but if it says it's closed it might be open. It's a little hard to tell when it's actually open and when it's not. We got the salmon and ahi special. The flavors are good. They're definitely flavorful, but I found both of them to be a little bit salty, which made it a little bit harder to eat. The portions were a little bit on the smaller side as well. Definitely glad to have checked it out. Food trucks in Maui are hard to go really wrong. I did have my eyes set on the Geste shrimp place but again it was closed, even though the Internet said it was open. read more

After watching lots of food reviews on YouTube, Thai mee up was a must visit on my list. It's right by the airport so we stopped by with a huge appetite. We ordered the drunken noodle and it just looked.. really sad. Whatever this is was not drunken noodle, the noodles were still white and there was no depth in flavor. If you've had drunken noodle before, it has a smoky and deep flavor from the wok and soy sauce + some spice but this was just noodles with a LOT of garlic. Cashew Chicken is usually my go to and it always comes in a savory sauce and a bountiful amount of yummy vegetables like onions, broccoli and stems, carrots, green onion, cabbage, zucchini and garlic over Jasmine Rice. Also, Thai food tends to cost more, I've seen--food truck or not. I received 5 delicious, plump pieces of shrimp so the $1 was worth it. The noodles and veggies, on the other hand, lacked the kick and flavor I was wanting. The dish tasted like it was half-heartedly stir-fried in oil and dressed in a sweet chili oil. I did not really taste of any spice or shoyu (not umami in flavor). The portion was fair but smaller than expected. When the order was finally served in the compostable container, I could hardly contain my glee. The plate felt light. Inside a large scoop of rice smiled up at me next to a steaming melange of mostly cabbage, a few pieces of zukes and juicy morsels of tofu. The cashews added a nice bite to the dish. Flavor wise, very delicious and almost too salty. Portion wise, it appeared small but with all the chewing of the cabbage, I felt comfortably full. For about $15, it was a good meal. It was a decent sized serving but it was mainly a coconut milk soupy concoction - it wasn't red but white - not much spice - and very very sweet! Not like the amazingly fragrant red and green curries I ate travelling through Thailand. I was disappointed and fished out the veggies to eat on the rice without the coconut milk. I am not even going to lie to you, I was skeptical about how good this place would be because I come from SF and have also been to Thailand. Let me tell you, this was probably the best Thai food I've had in my life (probably comparable to Thailand).
