Mango sticky rice ($14) -- sweet and soft, mango was really rice and sweet
Wendy T.

We only got the sticky rice with mango, but it was a tasty snack! The menu photo is a little misleading (rice is a different color, more mango pictures), but I was still happy with how soft and sweet the mango was as well as how creamy, warm, and sweet the rice was with the coconut milk. Wish there was more mango for the price~ It came in a sturdy Glad plastic box that you can reuse :P Their food truck was located in the quiet back corner of the lot with a bunch of tables available for seating. The ladies there were very nice, and they accept credit cards.

We tried to order food for three days in a row. On the first two days, they stopped taking orders early, around 7:00 PM, even though their sign says they are open daily from 10:30 AM to 9:30 PM. Today, we placed and paid for an online order, but when we arrived, they were closed with no explanation. The Instagram also super confuse with other restaurant cellphone number. No one answered the phone. When I called the restaurant number listed on the menu, the staff said he didn't know what was going on and was too busy. This is the worst experience I had in Maui.

My this area of Kihei has changed! And for the better. This area has turned into a great little park filled with food trucks that are all set in a permanent area. They have a beautiful seating, picnic tables and lights with music and trees. But gentle, not screaming. The deco is like a peaceful garden, and the music is soft. They're open during the day and at night. Giving you a great time, anytime. The food choices are amazing. Everything is cooked fresh! The fragrance of the food is intoxicating. The food is absolutely delicious. I could eat it every day. they do take credit cards. However, I don't know for certain about contactless pay on your phone.

Basil fried rice

This was our favorite food in all of Maui. We went two or three times in our week there - the Basil fried rice was INCREDIBLE. The employees were all nice and the ambiance was fun - there were string lights and cute table decorations. Can't recommend enough!

Pad Thai, Mango Sticky Rice, and Red Curry

We ordered the Royal Pad Thai, Red Curry, and the Mango Sticky Rice. It was the best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand. The flavors in both the Pad Thai and curry were so prominent and it had so much flavor. The mango sticky rice was incredible and was the perfect balance of flavors. The mango sticky rice is super creamy, flavorful, with perfect fresh cuts of mango. The Pad Thai was cooked to perfection and the flavor literally explodes in your mouth. The curry had the perfect spiciness and amount of sauce. It wasn't like a soup like many other places do and had a rich amount of vegetables. The rice with the curry was well cooked and paired with the curry perfectly. The service was incredibly friendly and the ambience was very calm and enjoyable. The plants and outdoor seating were beautiful and was amazing with the good food. 1000/10 I love this place!

I called and asked them for directions and they actually guided us. They were also really patient in explaining the menu to us and explaining the different types of fish and what not. Really glad we were patient and actually came here! Such a lovely aesthetic to the whole area and the food. Oh my goodness!!! The burst of flavor in everything was phenomenal! Such unique combinations and everything was so fresh and cooked so well and just mind blowing! Husband and I kept saying how we should have just gone there multiple times for food! Mahi Mahi Bento bowl with Ono instead. (It has Crispy Sushi Rice / Black Garlic / Market Vegetables) I really have no words to see how good this combination was! I was actually a little full going into dinner but ended up actually wiping this whole plate clean! The food was that good! Husband got the Roasted Organic Chicken With Coconut with Coconut Carrot Curry and Roasted Vegetables. Very different vibe from my item but also really delicious. Heat thoroughly enjoyed this one! The chicken was perfectly cooked and the carrot coconut curry combination with the vegetables and the chicken was lovely. He kept some leftovers for the next day because the chicken portion size was quite huge and we enjoyed it even the next day! Seaweed salad was also delicious! Super fresh and tasty!

I'm not sure I've had, or will have, a better meal on Maui. It was named one of the top local spots last year, and that recognition feels completely deserved. Set at the far end of South Maui Gardens, the outdoor seating gives it a relaxed but special ambiance. For our 30th anniversary, my wife and I shared the smoked tomahawk steak family-style, along with black garlic roasted rice, pickled carrots and onions, and a roasted vegetable medley with a beautiful spice mix. Every bite was outstanding -- perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and clearly crafted with intention. We finished with the lilikoi meringue pie, which was just as impressive and a perfect way to end the meal. Maui has some incredible dining experiences, and Kitoko stands comfortably among the very best -- food truck or not. If you're looking for a truly memorable dinner on the island, don't miss this one.

Frank B has dined & approved of this Thai Food truck in Kihei due to orgazmic dining experience served up in a bowl. YES folks I LOVE Thai Mee Up's culinary delights so much I've stopped counting I make my way to the truck. First off the truck itself looks clean & regal especially with the giant elephant located on the roof. It looks clean , smells clean and with the giant plasma TV's show you what's about to be served you'll feel safe about your choices. Simple order process and then after 10 mins your order is called out and ready for pick. Every dish I've dined on has its own taste signature and is rapturous to the body.. My top food choices is Garlic Shrimp ,Pad Thai with Shrimp and Ribeye & Lobster. Needless to say all items are sensational for the tastes buds and the costs are extremity priced out well for your budget. Come on and try a BIG BUDGET TASTE for a low budget cost.. I'm sure you'll agree with FRANK THIS OLACE IS GREAT !

They were only taking to go orders because we came in quite late and they seem to be very loaded with orders even that late into the night! They actually missed our order because we went there a good 30 minutes later and still didn't receive our food. So they were kind enough to give us a beverage on the house and rushed our order as well. They were also very apologetic for making his weird this long so we appreciate it. Overall, that pad Thai was delicious! Husband is a pad Thai connoisseur and he approved. Quite a big portion size too.

The truck itself is fun, painted with bright tropical colors and scenes, and they seem to be known for their loaded tots and bao buns. I placed my order on the touchscreen outside and then sat down to wait for my food. For lunch on this day I went with the buffalo chicken tots and the Island Piggy bao. The menu described the bao as kalua pork, BBQ sauce, tropical salsa, and pickled red onions. The buffalo chicken tots were described as buttermilk fried chicken, buffalo sauce, jack cheddar cheese, house made pickles, and ranch dressing. It took less than 10 minutes for my food to be ready and I sat down at one of the shaded picnic tables. When I opened everything up it all looked good, but I did notice that the tots were missing the house made pickles. I started with the bao and thought it was pretty good. The kalua pork was super juicy and the bao bun was light and fluffy while still holding together well. The pickled onions added a nice acidity and the tropical salsa brought good flavor. The only thing I did not notice much was the BBQ sauce. After that I dug into the tots. The tots themselves were cooked nicely with a crispy outside and soft inside. The chicken was good as well with a nice batter and the buffalo sauce added flavor while the cheese was gooey. The only thing worth noting is that the chicken was softer than expected and not very crispy. It worked since I did have the texture from the crispy tots, but it stood out. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I would probably not order both a bao and tots again as it was a lot of food, but I would definitely come back for one or the other.

If you see this truck, do not skip it.

They have lots of things, though. There was a yoga session happening in the middle lawn area. They have a butterfly area, even though the butterflies were somewhere else. There is an aging tortoise, I forget his name. There are also different businesses in the buildings, like a spa and a salon. There are different small vendors with their booths and several food trucks; although, some were not open in the morning and the Thai food truck had all their items sold out on their menu already. The prices were even more pricier than the food trucks at Maui Food Trucks. One vendor had hand crafted desserts for $20/piece! I admired from afar, haha. Everything is advertised as "farm to table" maybe justifying their prices. We shared an acai bowl and it was mid. The the peanut butter was just scraped on the side of the bowl. Our typical acai bowls at least put the peanut/almond butter in the middle like any other topping so you can get an even bite with everything. But the dallop of peanut butter just on the side, it was like we ordered peanut butter on the side of our acai bowl. It was weird. I bet it's more alive at night with more food trucks open and live music. We came and saw and didn't come back. I can see how it can be great for families with toddlers running around, giving them a safe space to burn their energy. Until then, this probably won't be the top of our list.
