The entire experience from the staff to the food was beyond my expectations. So, a little back story. A big storm closed the west side of the island and we desperately needed a nice romantic place to help celebrate our anniversary. We were told that Aurum is a must by the locals we have come to know over the years. And all I can say is Mahalo everyone. The server, Santi, was great. He truly cares about the customers experience. He knew about my wife's food allergies and made sure to speak with the chef to make sure we would be ok. We had a few happy hour cocktails and they were fantastic and priced very reasonably. The crispy cauliflower was delicious. The yogurt sauce was delectable. I had the smash burger and was very happy with it. It is definitely big enough to share or make an entree. We will certainly make this a priority next time we come back. Aloha

LOBSTER TOAST- good enough to share.

My friend tried this restaurant and described how amazing the food was. I quickly made a reservation for lunch. We walked in this beautifully decorated restaurant. It has a modern, chic and casual vibe. There's a bar and I love the booth seatings. Our server came and showed us the menu. There are a lot of great choices of food and a very expansive choices of alcohol and non alcoholic drink. For starters, we shared a lobster toast. This is huge to share, almost good enough as a lunch entree for me. My boyfriend ordered the beet salad and added kampachi collar. I had the kampachi filet sandwich and paired it with a glass of Chardonnay. For dessert, we had the chocolate bar with ganache. Very rich and bold and love the sprinkle of salt to contrast the sweetness of the chocolate. I'm glad we came and tried this restaurant. The food tastes good

My first time here and I had a great time! Alisha was the server and although it was busy she was still attentive & still checked on us from time to time. I had the roast chicken, my partner had the steak. Both were great-- and I'm a picky eater! Enjoyed an aperol spritz with my meal. Restaurant vibe is dynamic, ranges from kids to elders. They play music through speakers & everything overall looked pretty clean & aesthetic. I have yet to visit the bar another night.

Aurum in Wailea is always a vibe, but this visit really stood out. We started with the crudo... and it was so good we ordered it twice. Super fresh, bright flavors, and perfectly balanced. Definitely a must-order if you go. We also had the bone marrow, which was rich and indulgent in the best way, and the fried chicken, which was crispy, juicy, and honestly one of those dishes you keep reaching back for even when you're already full. For mains we tried the surf and turf and the pork, and both were incredible. The surf and turf was cooked perfectly and felt like a true treat-yourself kind of dish, while the pork was flavorful, tender, and comforting. Between the food, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, Aurum continues to be one of those spots on Maui that feels special every time. Perfect for a nice dinner, date night, or celebrating with friends. Definitely coming back... and definitely ordering the crudo again (probably twice ).

Aurum is that rare Wailea spot where the food feels fancy, the service feels genuine, and you don't feel like you're just paying for the zip code. The bone marrow? Pure velvet on a plate. Rich, roasted, and so indulgent it probably should've come with a waiver. Slather it on the toast and suddenly you're wondering if butter even deserves a place in your fridge anymore. The grilled kampachi (fish of the day) was just as showy in its own quiet way. Skin crackled perfectly, inside stayed flaky and fresh, and it carried that ocean-kissed flavor that makes you briefly consider moving closer to the docks. Service was dialed in, attentive without hovering, and clearly proud of what the kitchen was turning out. Always a good sign. Aurum might be new, but it already feels like a must-eat in Wailea. Come hungry, leave smug, and tell your friends you found the marrow of Maui's dining scene.

We stopped into Aurum for happy hour and loved it. It had just poured for like thirty minutes and we were totally soaked, but the team still welcomed us and found us a spot near the open patio. Justin was our server and he was awesome -- gave us the lay of the land, talked through the fresh catch, and had great recs. We kept it light and shared the smoked Hawaiian fish dip and the Pono Lō Smash Burger. The dip had really bold, smoky flavor and was great with the crackers. I kinda wished the crackers were crispier to carry that flavor even more, but it still hit. The fries with the burger were insane -- super crispy, hot, and they shattered in the best way. The burger itself had a great balance with the veggies and tasted very fresh. Total was about $29 pre tip for happy hour, which felt like a steal for Wailea. Staff were kind, food was tasty, and the vibe was easygoing even after the rain chaos. We'll be back.

Came here about a week after they opened for my parents anniversary. We had a reservation & were seated right away. A very modern chic looking spot with indoor & outdoor seating. Menu was on the smaller side, with a unique variety of items. For starters we got the loaded french fries & smoked hawaiian fish dip. Dip was good, I wish it had a little more smoke flavor to it. Portion was also a bit small with a few crackers, so all of us were only able to have 1 cracker per person. The fries were really good. Bacon glaze mixed with cheese fondue was the perfect salty sweet balance. For dinner I got the mushroom campanelle pasta, which had a cheesy buttery wine sauce. The lighter sauce really brought out the mushroom flavor, very umami. I'm not sure if our server maybe thought we were only having appetizers, but we sat for a while until he came to check on us & we could order our dinner. While writing this review, I noticed that a couple things we ordered are no longer on the menu. So I guess changes were made within a month of them being open.

    MEDITERRANEAN MEATBALLS AND SIDE SALAD
    Maria K.

I give this place a 3.5 stars. Everyone that works there was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is bright and airy. We came in for lunch and discovered that they offer a small menu that serves as both a lunch and dinner menu. I ended up ordering the Mediterranean meatballs with tzatziki sauce and a side salad. My husband just ordered the loaded fries. The side salad was a great companion to the Mediterranean meatballs and the loaded fries were excellent. Even with all the sauces the fries were crunchy not soggy. We do want to come back for Happy Hour because the options look good too bad it doesn't start until 3:00pm.

Pan Seared Kanpachi (needs more "zing") - VN

Maui's newest eatery opened on 7/19/25 in The Shops At Wailea. Aurum has three other locations in Colorado. ATMOSPHERE: They've taken up several spaces on the mall's west side first level. Decor and lighting is warm and bistro chic with house music playing overhead. Outdoor seating is available along with a private lanai for larger parties. Indoor seating is a mix of plush benches, semi-private booths, low tops and bar. RESERVATIONS: Recommended since they're new. PARKING: Plenty of free parking within the mall. MENU: Intimate mix of American, Italian and Asian dishes, desserts and a happy hour menu. No liquor license as of this review so BYOB is okay. A few dishes were sold out. FOOD: Kauai Prawn Okonomiyaki My second ever Japanese pancake had delish ocean-y flavors from the furikake and juicy shrimp, with a pleasurable crunch from the cabbage. Recommended. Hand Rolled Ricotta Gnocchi The savory fennel sausage is definitely the star of this creamy-esque dish. Recommended. Fried Chicken Sticky like ribs, the tender and moist chunks of chicken were crazy flavorful and not overly sweet. Highly recommended. Crispy Curried Cauliflower A nice alternative to the mundane fried Brussels sprouts offered everywhere, these lightly-curried and slightly sweet Brassicaceaes had pleasing crunchiness and sear to their exteriors. Highly recommended. Lopes Farm Pork Perfectly cooked and juicy, the meat simply needed more seasoning/salt. Pan Seared Kanpachi With its flaky meat and crispy skin, the fish needed more "zing". Loved the chunky root veggies. Lobster Seafood Roll While not the biggest of rolls, the lobster had a tad too much dill that overpowered the crustacean's natural flavors. DESSERT: Haiku Honey Ice Cream Laboriously hand-churned, the scoop of ice cream was really soft. A first for me, the bee pollen had an unusual chewy texture to it, while a friend was surprised at its intense flavor profile. Coconut Milk Panna Cotta Tasty and creamy, it wasn't set so it was very runny. SERVICE: Everyone was great, especially our male server who was very engaged and knowledgeable. TIP: A 10% kamaaina discount was offered. OVERALL: A definite return.

    Kanpachi
    Jamie K.

Vibes were good - more of a date night area, with seating open to the outside mall space. Kanpachi was just alright though and the gnocchi was way too salty + heavy. Both dishes were on the creamier side so the flavors kind of mushed together soon after. Lychee lani was, however, the best drink I had ever ordered in my life. It has lychee, plum wine, lemon, and comes with some sparkling sake that pairs so so well with the drink. Def recommend for this drink alone.

Fantastic! We stumbled upon Aurum before our dinner reservation. We wished we knew about it sooner otherwise we would have had dinner here. The space is really beautiful and the bartenders were super friendly. Cocktails and appetizers were great. Hope to come back here one day!

    Shani H.

Came here for a friend's birthday dinner. The staff was really attentive and even had a nice card for the birthday boy which everyone signed. I tried the loaded fries and the lobster toast. Everything was delicious and the lobster was really fresh and filling. I also loved my lychee cocktail. Looking forward to coming back for happy hour.

    Meatballs w tzatziki sauce.
    Michaela F.

Everything was so delicious!! This restaurant did a slightly different spin on many things. Brined their fish of the day = tender w a crispy skin, loaded fries had bacon jam, burger had TWO patties!, brioche bun on their burger which stayed firm & didn't get soggy, pickles were slightly sweet vs tangy, & served milk w their cookies. My girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed the meatballs w tzatziki sauce, bone marrow, & beet salad. My only critique would be that the cookies could've been sweeter. They were almost savory despite having chocolate chips in them. Loved the warm & welcoming staff including the sweet hostess w beautiful eyes, & our waiter Patrick.

I had the American Greek Salad, loaded with fresh vegetables, feta, and pita on the side. It was light, fresh, and satisfying. We shared the baklava ice cream cake for dessert -- a real highlight. The layers of baklava with creamy vanilla ice cream were absolutely delicious, and the drizzle of syrup tied it all together. At that point, just price the burger at $22 and be upfront about it--it's a much better experience than feeling upcharged for basic toppings. All I can say is wow I'm giving a five star review. Cannot wait to go back. My only concern was that the receipt on the final bill displays a 20, 22 and 25% gratuity option that is based on the price of the entire bill, including the tax not the pre-tax total.

We were greeted with a very warm welcome from the hostess and had an amazing waitress who was really enthusiastic and really good at what she does. She gave us really thorough descriptions of all the specials and was very accomodating. Try to go during sunset and request seats by the view on the balcony, it is so beautiful with the sunset shining over the trees and hills My favorite items were the raw of the day specials - a tuna tartare and an ahi sashimi. Both with bold unique flavors and very fresh fish. The drinks here were also our favorite from all the restaurants during our trip - spicy margarita was so bomb, that salty foam on top is so unique rather than a rim

They've got great views of the ocean and sunset. We were lucky to enjoy a live ukulele player/singer for a wedding that was happening in a private section. Their pina on the rocks cocktail (Mahina Coconut Rum, Coconut Cream, Pineapple, Lime, Toasted Coconut, Dash of Angostura Bitters) is to die for. I had two. Dish highlights were kung pao calamari and ponzu glazed catch. Highly recommend! I would definitely come back.

There's bar seating and regular seating available. It's open air. Option to sit outside or inside. We had mixed experiences here throughout the years that we visit. Food is super good here. Always good. The burger is great. The poke is yummy! We just tried the grilled cheese and that was Ono too! The staff however can vary, depending on who you have. Our last server was super good and attentive. Very nice gal.

I originally ordered the butternut squash ravioli but the sauce was similar to an alfredo sauce and not a browned butter sauce, so I sent it back. We also split the zucca salad which was great but they charged $2 more...hard to say if it was due to splitting since the menu didn't mention a charge. Also, the waiter asked if we wanted bread but didn't let us know there was a charge for that as well. Minor, but they should mention it. We sat in the bar area on a high top and it was fine. Probably quieter than the rest of the restaurant honestly.

Parking is very easy as it is located in a plaza and the service is very attentive. My water cup was never empty. House salad: sweet tangy and a good amount of creamy cheese Cesar salad: very good and even came with anchovies. I didn't get to try the anchovies but those that tried it said it was quite tasty Meatballs: their signature dish. It was pretty good, but wish there was a bit of a tang to it Bolognese: loved how they cooked the pasta and the meat sauce was tasty, the ground beef they used was quite lean so wasn't super oily Apparata with spicy sausage: good flavor, would order again. I loved the spicy sausage as well. It had a bit of a kick Parmesan chicken: chicken wasn't dry and the pasta was cooked perfectly Short rib: I don't love short rib but my friends said it was savory and not too salty. I personally really likes the sides that came with it Ciao Bella cocktail: I like that it was a strong drink however it felt that the flavors were clashing, maybe with my food that evening
