Solid HH (2-5pm) with portions identical to regular priced items. Very kid friendly. They provide writing tablets and cute water straw cups for kids to use. Smoked Hawaiian Fish Dip: Tasty and dill forward. I wished the texture was softer for dipping. Mediterranean meatballs (3): Generous sized and tasted like the ingredients stated. Farm greens: Would have preferred slightly less dressing, but tasty. Lobster toast: very generous portion of lobster. Keiki meal : got it with fish. Comes with a couple of steamed cauliflower, rice and small piece of fish. I wish it came with more cauliflower and less rice. Service was very friendly. Overall, great vibes and also kid friendly.

My wife and I decided to try out the happy hour at Aurum and we're glad we did. The hostess was super welcoming and led us to a comfortable place to sit. The restaurant's decor is really nice: pleasing to the eye, soothing in style and comfortable. I started off with a refreshing Hawaiian beer and then we ordered three appetizers: Mediterranean meatballs (pork and beef with cucumber salad and a lemon yogurt and mint harissa sauce); fried chicken with gochugang bbq sauce with pickled radish and macadamia nut crumble buttermilk herb dressing; and crispy curried cauliflower with shishito peppers, golden raisins and macadamia nut dukkah. All three dishes were delicious, although in the case of the meatballs and the bbq chicken, on the heavy side with robust flavors. Our waiter was terrific: friendly and helpful. And, the prices were very reasonable and good value.

    Beautiful decor inside the restaurant.

Happy Hour at Aurum was good and generous. My favorite was the Crispy Curried Cauliflower. Very well prepared especially with lemon yogurt sauce. However, the Mediterranean Meatballs didn't come off well. They were quite dense. The Fried Chicken with gochujang bbq sauce was too sweet and thick that made the chicken not crispy. The interior of the restaurant is nicely decorated. Service was helpful and friendly.

I really wanted to love this place but ended up just liking it. Walking in the ambiance is a modern boho with curved lines throughout, really well done. The service was friendly but seemed forced making the interactions with the hostess and our server feel awkward at moments. The menu is simple but has options for all cravings and all the food was plated beautifully. The fried chicken appetizer had good flavor was served warm (not hot) and some of the pieces had fatty skin creating chewy pieces. My wife had the fresh catch and it was a little dry and had ok flavor. I had the pork chop and it was more undercooked than the server promised but it was served precut so there was no way to fix it. Also my meal was served warm again and not hot. The mela overall had different flavors that were ok but not amazing. The Apple Cake dessert looked amazing but the bread portion was served cold which was such a disappointment.

As a celiac girly, it's not often I have options (especially delicious options). Not only did the menu offer numerous gluten free choices, everything was incredible. Additionally, our server, Robbie, went above and beyond and made the whole experience even better!

The entire experience from the staff to the food was beyond my expectations. So, a little back story. A big storm closed the west side of the island and we desperately needed a nice romantic place to help celebrate our anniversary. We were told that Aurum is a must by the locals we have come to know over the years. And all I can say is Mahalo everyone. The server, Santi, was great. He truly cares about the customers experience. He knew about my wife's food allergies and made sure to speak with the chef to make sure we would be ok. We had a few happy hour cocktails and they were fantastic and priced very reasonably. The crispy cauliflower was delicious. The yogurt sauce was delectable. I had the smash burger and was very happy with it. It is definitely big enough to share or make an entree. We will certainly make this a priority next time we come back. Aloha

My friend tried this restaurant and described how amazing the food was. I quickly made a reservation for lunch. We walked in this beautifully decorated restaurant. It has a modern, chic and casual vibe. There's a bar and I love the booth seatings. Our server came and showed us the menu. There are a lot of great choices of food and a very expansive choices of alcohol and non alcoholic drink. For starters, we shared a lobster toast. This is huge to share, almost good enough as a lunch entree for me. My boyfriend ordered the beet salad and added kampachi collar. I had the kampachi filet sandwich and paired it with a glass of Chardonnay. For dessert, we had the chocolate bar with ganache. Very rich and bold and love the sprinkle of salt to contrast the sweetness of the chocolate. I'm glad we came and tried this restaurant. The food tastes good

Fantastic food, drinks and service. Kalani (our bartender) was great and explained the uniqueness and efforts that went into their drinks!

Aurum is that rare Wailea spot where the food feels fancy, the service feels genuine, and you don't feel like you're just paying for the zip code. The bone marrow? Pure velvet on a plate. Rich, roasted, and so indulgent it probably should've come with a waiver. Slather it on the toast and suddenly you're wondering if butter even deserves a place in your fridge anymore. The grilled kampachi (fish of the day) was just as showy in its own quiet way. Skin crackled perfectly, inside stayed flaky and fresh, and it carried that ocean-kissed flavor that makes you briefly consider moving closer to the docks. Service was dialed in, attentive without hovering, and clearly proud of what the kitchen was turning out. Always a good sign. Aurum might be new, but it already feels like a must-eat in Wailea. Come hungry, leave smug, and tell your friends you found the marrow of Maui's dining scene.

We stopped into Aurum for happy hour and loved it. It had just poured for like thirty minutes and we were totally soaked, but the team still welcomed us and found us a spot near the open patio. Justin was our server and he was awesome -- gave us the lay of the land, talked through the fresh catch, and had great recs. We kept it light and shared the smoked Hawaiian fish dip and the Pono Lō Smash Burger. The dip had really bold, smoky flavor and was great with the crackers. I kinda wished the crackers were crispier to carry that flavor even more, but it still hit. The fries with the burger were insane -- super crispy, hot, and they shattered in the best way. The burger itself had a great balance with the veggies and tasted very fresh. Total was about $29 pre tip for happy hour, which felt like a steal for Wailea. Staff were kind, food was tasty, and the vibe was easygoing even after the rain chaos. We'll be back.

Came here about a week after they opened for my parents anniversary. We had a reservation & were seated right away. A very modern chic looking spot with indoor & outdoor seating. Menu was on the smaller side, with a unique variety of items. For starters we got the loaded french fries & smoked hawaiian fish dip. Dip was good, I wish it had a little more smoke flavor to it. Portion was also a bit small with a few crackers, so all of us were only able to have 1 cracker per person. The fries were really good. Bacon glaze mixed with cheese fondue was the perfect salty sweet balance. For dinner I got the mushroom campanelle pasta, which had a cheesy buttery wine sauce. The lighter sauce really brought out the mushroom flavor, very umami. I'm not sure if our server maybe thought we were only having appetizers, but we sat for a while until he came to check on us & we could order our dinner. While writing this review, I noticed that a couple things we ordered are no longer on the menu. So I guess changes were made within a month of them being open.

    SIMPLE ROOTS CHICKEN

The Tale of Two Chickens I ate at Lineage Wednesday night and Aurum last night. Lineage is famous for its Korean Fried Chicken ($48) and it's incredible. It was my first visit to Aurum and I like to try a difficult dish the first time I dine somewhere new. I spotted the Simple Root Chicken ($45) and asked the server about it. He said it is cooked sous vide style (to keep it moist) and then broiled to golden brown. He said it a leg and a thigh and very popular, so I tried it. It was a breast, not a leg/thigh, and while it looked great, it was dry and virtually unseasoned. I told the server and almost had a Lineage Chicken delivered to the kitchen so the chef could see what a proper Chicken dinner tasted like!

    MEDITERRANEAN MEATBALLS AND SIDE SALAD
    Maria K.

I give this place a 3.5 stars. Everyone that works there was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is bright and airy. We came in for lunch and discovered that they offer a small menu that serves as both a lunch and dinner menu. I ended up ordering the Mediterranean meatballs with tzatziki sauce and a side salad. My husband just ordered the loaded fries. The side salad was a great companion to the Mediterranean meatballs and the loaded fries were excellent. Even with all the sauces the fries were crunchy not soggy. We do want to come back for Happy Hour because the options look good too bad it doesn't start until 3:00pm.

However, the owner took the time to respond and explain that the entire shopping center wing was experiencing cooling issues and that the restaurant was dealing with significant staffing shortages at the time. While that doesn't completely change the experience we had, I appreciate that the owner acknowledged the challenges and responded professionally rather than dismissing the feedback. One observation I would offer is that, as a customer, it was difficult to tell who was serving tables. I noticed several employees in Pint & Cork shirts moving around the restaurant, but only saw a couple of servers actively covering the dining area. It's possible some staff were assigned to bartending or other responsibilities, but from the guest perspective it gave the impression that table service was understaffed while other employees appeared unavailable. I still think there is room for improvement in the flow and logistics on the floor, but I appreciate the owner's willingness to engage with feedback and explain the circumstances. That being said, I would be willing to give the restaurant another chance. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATED REVIEW AFTER OWNER'S RESPONSE: 6.21.26 I appreciate the response. It's telling that you addressed the air conditioning, disputed the gender of an employee, and questioned whether I was even there, yet didn't meaningfully respond to the concerns about service, timing, attentiveness, or food quality. If a customer leaves with a poor experience, the question isn't whether they perfectly recalled every detail. The question is why they left with that impression in the first place. I suspect future readers can draw their own conclusions from both the review and the response. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Probably the most disappointing dining experience of our Hawaii trip. We specifically asked to sit indoors because we wanted a break from the Maui heat after spending the day outside. Unfortunately, we quickly realized there was no air conditioning, making the indoor seating barely any cooler than outside. The restaurant also felt severely understaffed. It took around 10 minutes just to get a Diet Coke, and every time I asked for assistance, the woman working at the register seemed to defer the request rather than help or find someone who could. Meanwhile, some employees appeared more interested in chatting than helping customers, while only one or two staff members seemed to be working the floor. I understand restaurants get busy, especially in a tourist area, but the issue wasn't just the wait--it was the feeling that customer service wasn't a priority. As for the food, it was nothing special. I ordered a steak that had a nice smoky flavor, but it arrived well done and overcooked. The rest of the meal was average at best and definitely not memorable enough to make up for the service issues. Between the lack of air conditioning, slow service, inattentive staff, and mediocre food, this was one of the few places in Hawaii where I genuinely regretted spending my money. Considering the location at The Shops at Wailea and the prices being charged, I expected a much higher level of hospitality and execution. There are far too many great dining options in Wailea to come back here.

My mom chose the chicken kabob plate, a hearty dish with tender chicken skewers, rice, grilled vegetables, pita, and tzatziki -- filling and well-seasoned. I had the American Greek Salad, loaded with fresh vegetables, feta, and pita on the side. It was light, fresh, and satisfying. We shared the baklava ice cream cake for dessert -- a real highlight. The layers of baklava with creamy vanilla ice cream were absolutely delicious, and the drizzle of syrup tied it all together. We especially loved the vanilla ice cream paired with the crunch of the baklava. The mango iced tea was refreshing and not overly sweet. Unfortunately, this was by far the most disappointing experience we've had. Looking back, we probably should have asked to speak with a manager while we were there, but after everything that happened, we simply felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave. I'll start with the positives because there were several. The drinks were delicious, the sea bass was excellent, and the dessert was absolutely incredible. The pasta itself was a little overcooked and soggy, but the flavor was still very good. The disappointing part of our evening was the service. After our server initially introduced herself, it took quite a while before she returned to take our drink order. When we were ready to order dinner, my husband was still deciding between a couple of menu items. Rather than giving him another moment, our server became visibly impatient and said she would come back after delivering our drinks. It ended up being more than 10 minutes before she returned. When I asked whether the entrees came with bread, her response made me feel embarrassed for even asking. Since they didn't, we ordered the biscuits as an appetizer to enjoy while waiting for our meals. Our children's meals arrived promptly, which we appreciated. However, our server never once stopped by to see if the kids needed anything. I had to flag down another server just to get ketchup. Meanwhile, our server walked past our table several times without checking on us or asking if we'd like another round of drinks--which we actually would have ordered. When our entrees arrived, the biscuits still hadn't come out. Shortly afterward, our server finally checked on us. I let her know that since our meals had already arrived, we no longer needed the biscuits and simply asked that they not be included on the bill. Her response was, "Well, they're made fresh and in the oven now. I guess I can go tell the kitchen you don't want them anymore." I replied, "They were supposed to be our appetizer, and our meals are already here now." Before I could even finish my sentence, she walked away while I was still speaking and appeared to mumble something under her breath. That interaction left my husband and me feeling shocked and disappointed. We've dined at many restaurants over the years and have never felt spoken to in that manner. We had considered asking to speak with a manager at that point, but honestly, we just wanted to finish our meal and leave without any further uncomfortable interactions. This was especially disappointing because Tommy Bahama has always been one of our favorite restaurants and a place we genuinely look forward to visiting whenever we're in Hawaii. We hope this experience was an exception rather than the standard, because the food continues to be wonderful--the service simply did not match the quality we've come to expect.

Food is great (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), gelato amazing. I also got sandals here that are the best pair I've ver had. This was a gem the whole time we were there. Very thankful they made this place. It's awesome!

In the back, you will find a food court with endless options, whether you grab what is already laid out or order fresh off the menu. I had the California roll twice, and the rice was so soft with a perfect rice-to-filling ratio, easily the best California roll I have ever had. I also tried the BBQ flatbread, which was pretty good. Ordering off the menu was also a great option. I got the fried rice and galbi, which came with sides and were all delicious. One thing my friend could not stop talking about was the poke, which was slightly on the spicier side but fresh, soft, and very tasty. This place has it all, and you really cannot go wrong. It might be a bit more on the expensive side depending on what you get, but it is pretty in line with the rest of Hawaii's pricing. Do yourself a favor and check it out. You can also grab groceries and snacks while you are there.

YELP can I give 10 stars to a place that deserves it??? I've been a few times so you all know my feelings of the sensational Smash Burger so just note" BUY IT " cause it's awesome. Well, it's a double patty dripping with love with jalapeno jam and layer of melted cheese with along with sliced onion & pickle. YES, the bar pretzel is an excellent table share and super tasty. Fried chicken is another order large enough for a sharing item. Make sure you wash it all down with a MAI TAI ( MY FAV ) or one of the many craft beers brewed on site. Defiantly an island vibe place with live local hula music blasting through speakers. Seats are in outdoor seating with roof over most of it. You can feel the breeze off the ocean but feel safe from the UV RAYS that aren't crisping your skin.... I'm always greeted with a smile by the host and the staff always address's every question me or my guest has with a smile. Your not gonna regret coming to the Lāhainā Brewing Co....

Skip the food, enjoy the beer…read more Ok tourists, you gotta know that anything in Wailea = wallet piracy. This place is no different. Way overpriced and rather uninspired food. Suggested tip is 25%, that's a huge red flag! Lahaina Brewing purchased Kohola brewing about one year ago. How I wish I had visited before that, because looking at historical Yelp reviews, the previous food offerings look SO much more interesting and were made with local and traditional products. Now what you get is $11 spam musubi, a pretzel that has both fish roe and sugary syrup on it (gross!) for $21, pseudo-Niçoise salad for $28 (WTF!), and imported shrimp cocktail for $5 a shrimp. Piss off! Even the server said it was a total rip-off. The menu is massively disappointing for those who actually have a frame of reference. Good thing we only came for beer. Tried the Kohola beer in Makawao and was very impressed. The Tall Story Pale Ale is really excellent, gold standard for pale ale, but you don't have to come here to enjoy it. Happy Hour is 2-5 p.m., $2 off Kohola draft and $4 off a glass of wine. Regular price beer is $8.50, fairly standard price. Unlike others, we had a good service experience. The ambience is comfortable, but I still would not return.
