Ginger Garlic Lobster, $36.95
Sue S.

IMHO With a name like Maui Lobster King, it definitely piques interest, doesn't it? I'm not a shellfish eater, but I can always find something to eat when my friends or family have a craving for shellfish. We had a party of 11 and they quickly pushed a few tables together to accommodate us. My family ordered and paid at the counter, but the remaining group ordered from the table after they had arrived. My husband & daughter shared the Fresh Garlic Lobster Noodle plate, $46.95, and I ordered a Cheeseburger and fries $10.95, plus a side of macaroni salad, $2.50. The others enjoyed a crayfish plate, grilled fish plates, Korean short ribs plate, the Ginger Garlic Lobster plate ($39.95) and fries' w/gravy ($10.95). Everyone cleaned their plates! Friendly service and smiles all around from the staff. The restaurant is bright, clean, and welcoming, with a nautical theme. There is no bathroom, but the restaurant gives out the restroom codes for the bathrooms, which are near the stairs outside. Will we return one day? You bet!!!

Lobster with Garlic Noodles

We had our last dinner here in Maui! Ambiance: Really clean and nice restaurant with gold and white marble essence. Casual vibes. Service: Friendly, quick, and efficient. Food: We wanted to get seafood boil but decided not to because it was too hot xD Garlic shrimps: Garlic flavor was much lighter compared to other places but we actually preferred it this way. The dish came out very fragrant and the shrimps were tasty but also smaller than what you'd get from food trucks. Lobster with garlic noodles- VERY weak on garlic flavor and I'm pretty sure these noodles were from a ramen packet. Lobster was fresh, meaty, and delicious.

Good food and the only place you can have this type of experience on Maui as far as I know! The restaurant itself feels like you're sitting at a higher end fast food chain, but we had fun! The seafood bake with potatoes, sausages, corn, seafood is a big hit. They give you gloves, a bib, and wet wipes. We got the garlic noodles, lobster dish, and really enjoyed it. We also had the garlic shrimp which were delicious. The employees were very kind and friendly.

My favorite place for an affordable hamburger and fries. They have AC, roomy booths, and lots of seating. Very friendly and attentive service.

If you like lobster, this is the place for you. Excellent preparation and not too salty. Kids loved the lobster with noodles and we came back twice for that. Dug in so fast we never got a photo haha. One of my daughters also enjoyed the chicken katsu and polished off the whole thing. Food is made fresh so don't expect the speed of fast food, but it's made promptly and tastes delicious. Service was excellent and always with a smile. Ambiance was a cross between fast food and sit down restaurant. Great for families and any lobster lover.

I was hesitant to come, due to the menu and name changes over the past couple of years. The place looks like a high-end Asian restaurant, all marble/stone and gold, with the exception of the giant windows. It smelled and looked very, very clean. I was greeted nearly immediately, so having been caught staring at the menu, I decided to buckle up and stay for the ride. It promotes its Cajun style lobster boil, which I like the idea, but that concept with the rest of the menu makes it appear like the identity of the restaurant is still being explored. A family having the lobster boil meal in the restaurant commented it was 'delicious!". I'd like to come back and try the boil with a friend. Although it's called "Maui Lobster King", I'd say it's closer in line with Hawaiian barbecue style places, with its options of steamed rice, macaroni salad, shrimp, fish, beef, etc. It also includes hamburgers on its menu, which surprised me, as it surprised another reviewer. Not a bad thing, but hamburgers at a lobster restaurant does raise the eyebrows. I ordered the 5 piece shrimp plate, with rice and macaroni salad. For $12.99, it woudn't be a huge money risk. It was generally very good! The shrimp was hot and crispy. The breading was a little thick but it's likely to provide value despite the small-ish shrimp. Very tasty shrimp breading. A pretty common seafood sauce was included, and it may have been home made. Nice flavor. The rice was perfectly cooked. The macaroni salad was a little tasteless, like it needed salt or vinegar. When I asked for shoyu, I was politely offered an array of seasonings: their own chili sauce, salt, pepper, shoyu, Tabasco and siracha. Their chili sauce was amazing! It brightened up my meal immensely. I am thinking they should almost sell their sauce, on the side, like another restaurant of which I know and enjoy does with its own hot sauce. Their small plates are extremely reasonable: $12.99 for a five piece shrimp meal, mac salad, rice and cabbage salad underneath. Some food trucks are charging double for less. I don't need a lot of food, as I don't like to feel 'stuffed' and my appetite as a person in her 50s is not the same as some of those Maui bodybuilders. So, their small plates are perfect for me, in terms of food amounts and pricing. I'd return.

Double cheeseburger! It didn't look like it would taste that bussin!

This place really shocked us! So our flight was delayed and as it was getting late when we arrived on Maui we found a food place on route to hotel and stumbled onto this hidden gem. We really didn't know what to expect so we ordered the garlic lobster and some burgers. The burgers came out and looked basic af so we started thinking oh we messed up ordering burgers at a lobster joint, BUT as soon as we bit into the burgers oh man!!! I don't know what they season the patty with but far out it was tasty af! Then the garlic lobster came out and that was a flavour explosion! Like it made you wanna just eat the shell and everything! The girl working there was awesome too, she seemed to be the only server and was really doing a great job taking care of all the patrons. Looked like a locally owned business too and not some stupid capitalist chain, so we were happy about that. But man the food was bussin! Best thing? The price was so good! Even in this bs world we live in ran by capitalist scum bag con men, here at least they kept it real and reasonable. Really really good find. We're def gonna come eat here again before we leave. Highly recommend

French fries and fried fish musubi

My mom and I tried this place for the first time. The workers were nice, everything was clean and organized, and they played current pop songs. I was pleasantly surprised with how good everything was. I got the mini garlic fish filet plate. We shared the fried fish musubi and french fries. She got the garlic shrimp plate. I liked mostly everything. I wouldn't get the musubi again unless it was a different meat; I just didn't care for the fried fish on it. I would come here again and recommend it to others.

Place was great, staff was friendly, food was piping hot and very flavorful and was served quickly. Prices are very reasonable and good portions. We hope to visit again and when we do we will make this one of our stops for sure. The restaurant is very clean too.

Checked out Maui Lobster King while on vacation and really enjoyed it. The place was packed with locals, which is always a good sign. Prices were very reasonable for Maui, and the portions were generous--definitely won't leave hungry. The seafood was fresh, and the grilled meats looked (and smelled) just as good. Service was fast and friendly, and food came out quick even though they were busy. Only small gripe was the chicken sandwich bun--it was a bit dry. But let's be real, this is a seafood and BBQ spot, so that's not a dealbreaker. Overall, a solid, no-frills place with great value and a local crowd. Would definitely go back.

Fresh garlic lobster

My girlfriend and I came for Valentine's Day and it was one of the best experiences we had during our time in Maui. We arrived 10 minutes before closing as a few other restaurants had told us the kitchen was already closed. We ordered the fresh garlic lobster with a side of Cajun and it was one of the best flavors I have ever had. The staff was very kind and they brought us a complimentary dessert and a flower for my girlfriend. We felt very taken care of, and can't wait to come back.

Mussels in garlic butter

Lobster King exceeded every expectation during my impromptu visit. After a morning doctor's appointment in town, I was running on empty and craving something comforting--so I took a chance on this spot, especially after reading about the owner chasing his dream. From start to finish, the simple things were done exceptionally well. The potatoes were cooked to perfection, the corn was delightfully sweet, and the sauce was bright and flavorful without ever feeling heavy or overly salty. I tried the mussels with garlic sauce--it was lovely. Beyond the food, the warm atmosphere, friendly customers and service made the meal even more enjoyable. I can't wait to bring a friend back for a proper boil and experience more of their mouthwatering Cajun classics. Kudos to the Lobster King team for following your dream and serving up such clean, honest flavors!

All of his recommendations were spot on. He took great pride in every dish we started with a tuna tartar appetizer and calamari, cocktails were on point as well as the wines selections. The star of the show was truly the dessert. Which was a caramelized Maui gold pineapple served with a frozen pineapple shell filled with coconut ice cream and meringue. My BIL wanted the Cajun Shrimp, but only a single order. We took it to go to eat back at the condo because I was not going to share with the feral chickens patrolling the dining tables. I have to say that the Cajun Shrimp had way better flavor than the Lemon Pepper, which was pretty mild. The double portion of shrimp was pretty massive with very plump shrimp. The panko coated onion rings were incredibly crunchy, even when brought back to our condo and came with 2 dipping sauces. We can't wait to go back to Maui just to have some food truck shrimp again!

My father's was described as Swiss, bacon, onions, mushrooms, and garlic aioli. Our food came out relatively quickly and when I opened the container I loved how colorful the dish looked. Since I was hungry, I dove right in. It ended up being absolutely delicious, mostly because of the sauce. It was super garlicky with a ton of flavor and the mango added the perfect amount of sweetness. There were nine shrimp and they were cooked well with a nice natural sweetness. I also appreciated the bell peppers and onions as I feel like I do not always get enough vegetables while in Hawaii. My dad also really enjoyed his burger and even said unprompted that it was one of the better burgers he has had lately. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my dad and I enjoyed our food and if they bottled that sauce, I would absolutely buy it.

My mahi fragments were dry, over spiced and served with two unseasoned baby bok choi leaves and a slice of grilled tomato. For the price of almost $40.00.
