This place was great. It was steps away from our hotel room and the beach with huge tvs, great service (thanks Lupe) and even live music. We had a card for a complimentary champagne toast as it was our honey moon so we decided to use it as well as try out their food. We ordered the ahi poke nachos, fish tacos chicken karaage and an order of spring rolls. We left full and satisfied.
It looked busy but we made reservations. So we got seated right away. There was live music which is a plus for me. We got the poke nachos and chicken karaage for appetizers. They were both good! Chicken was crispy and tender. The nacho chips was crunchy and tasty too. I had the eat well fresh catch mahi mahi with cherry tomatoes , and asparagus. See photos!
Sean at the bar is wonderful! He suggested a fun place called Pineapple Robot and we had a blast! I ate the poke nachos with the poke on the side as I have an allergy. They have corn tortillas but they came out with delicious gluten packed crisps that I could not enjoy. The waiter said they use tamari in the poke but we will see! I'm not sure how GF this is but it's my feeding time so I'm eating in slight fear. I did t eat too much as it wasn't as fresh as my arrogant tastebuds. Just next door at Ulu you can have the clams or macadamia crusted fish and it's 100% safe! I know because I ate them (;
Was staying at the Westin for my recent birthday vacation (visiting from O'ahu) and figured for our first night, we should check out this restaurant. We didn't have reservations and upon arriving at the host stand, the female hostess was snobby and did not want to help us and instead, the male host sat us down at a communal table with ottermans for seats. We didn't feel like crouching down to eat so I went back to ask if we could sit at the bar. We moved to the bar and ordered from the bartender; I got the lobster roll and my husband ordered the poke nachos. We realized there was a musician playing and wanted to move closer to the music. So I decided to go back to the host stand and ask if we could get on the list for a table close to the musician. The female host proceeded to snob me WHILE she drinks from her hydroflask. The male host stated to me that since we ordered our food already, we are not allowed to sit on a table since those tables have servers too. He also had an attitude. I asked very nicely and felt that they thought I was interrupting their deep conversations. The male host reluctantly stated that the tables open up after 9:30pm. Management really needs to school these two on how to talk to guests with more respect. This was on 11/14/25, approx. 8pm. As local kama'aina, we expected more but those two failed miserably. After we finished eating our food, we closed out our tab and moved by the musician. Needless to say, we were nicely greeted by a waitress who asked if she can get us anything. This place could be so much more but our experience with the front of the house was enough for us to not return during our trip. On the flip side, the lobster roll was really good whereas the poke nachos was okay. There's so much more dining options within the Westin's vicinity with great service AND food, like Leilani's Beach Bar (at Leilani's on The Beach) so we would not recommend this place BUT if you want a good lobster roll, this is the place to have it.

7/3/24 My husband and I came here for lunch. We shared the vegetable spring rolls. The rolls were nice and crispy but slightly doughy on the inside. The sweet and sour dipping sauce was tasty but typical. I really enjoyed the lobster roll. The lobster was buttery and not over sauced in mayo and the portions were very filling. It came with fries which were crispy and typical. My husband ordered the vegetable yakisoba noodles. They too were tasty but could have used more vegetables and less pickled ginger. We were seated near the walkway over looking the beach. There was a family playing soccer right near our seats which was slightly distracting but overall the view of the ocean was pleasant. Service was adequate, although somewhat slow but that's to be expected in Maui.
My husband and I only shared some drinks at this bar so far but we thoroughly enjoyed the lava flow cocktail that Sean made us! It surpassed any cocktail we had in the beach. Definitely make sure to try one before you leave the island.
Stayed at the Westin and ate at Hale Mo'olelo twice. Entry is right next to the pool - huge bar, TVs, and nice beachy (some sand) area overlooking the water. Had a nice view of the sunset. Drinks were good - Had the poke nachos which were quite good, and the chicken karaage which we both liked. Kids had kids meals which were so-so, the veggies were actually not good, I didn't even try to get them to eat them. Had live music, overall atmosphere was great, we enjoyed it and ate there twice (but no kids meal the second time). It is not cheap, but kind of what you expect for this area and the Westin.
So happy to return to this familiar place and find Guy the bartender who talks to me and is always got a smile on his face and is in a good place. He always remembers my name and it makes this one of my favorite places on the earth/upper west side Maui . If you haven't been here, you should come check it out.
Ambiance and staff is nice. Casual romantic place to eat along the resort. Cocktails are good food is and portion size is good. Half size of the ahi tuna salad was perfect for me but unfortunately too salty and a little too citrusy for me. But had a lot of tuna in it! Also love the wontons. Burger was good. Taste that fire grilled. Overall a decent place. read more
Great spot to grab lunch or dinner. We sat by the water and enjoyed fish tacos and poke bowls. Food was tasty and satisfying with a cold beer. No waiting and the whales spouting made our lunch time even better. Westin's new remodel has paid off and the property was a joy to visit. They are offering good rates for locals with all sorts of perks. Check it out and you'll want to make this place your regular staycation with the ohana.,. We will be back in a few months to celebrate again. Cheers! read more

The lady wearing a green shirt had horrible customer service. I don't know who this lady is but I believe she is a manager or lead for the place. She saw we were customers and needed help. Directed us to the hostess stand but there was nobody there. She could see this but she did nothing. Ended up sitting near the bar and I got all the food and drinks from the bartender myself because there was nobody serving us. read more

this restaurant was amazing for our party of 3. Really great food amazing experience for our first time here. Our server, Kenny was amazing!! So knowledgeable about the menu, gave us great recommendations, and was extremely kind. Definitely recommend coming here and ask for kenny !! read more

So happy to return to this familiar place and find Guy the bartender who talks to me and is always got a smile on his face and is in a good place. He always remembers my name and it makes this one of my favorite places on the earth/upper west side Maui . If you haven't been here, you should come check it out. read more

So besides the crazy swarm of knats that attacked us as soon as we walked in, Hale Mo'olelo is a very cute, trendy outdoor restaurant that can be found beach front at the Westin Hotel. Loved the modern aesthetics while still maintaining the island vibes. The food was absolutely delicious, would definitely recommend trying the wings appetizer. These wings were cooked to crispy perfection, sprinkled with a dry rub that provided just the right amount of spiciness to them. If you're looking for good service, paired with good food and a beautiful sunset view during dinner, then I would recommend Hale Mo'olelo for you! read more
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff, setting a positive tone for our experience. After a long flight, we were pleased that the food arrived in a timely manner, satisfying our hunger. A particularly delightful aspect of this venue is the live music, with a performer serenading guests with beautiful songs, enhancing the dining atmosphere. The ambiance in the evening is romantic, with dim lighting creating an intimate setting. The customer service was exceptional, especially from Gio. We look forward to our next visit. read more

Came to Hale Mo'elelo because we didn't get to the hotel until 7 pm and had a hotel credit that we had to burn. Plus we didn't want to go anywhere else after travelling all day. All I can say is...how does this place have such a high rating? We had $100 of hotel credit to burn, so we got the Thai Sticky Wings to share, Auntie's Coconut Curry with added shrimp, and Tempura Fish Tacos. The Thai Sticky Wings were fine, I liked the sauce on them and the wings were pretty big. But the entrées? Man, these just were not very good. The coconut curry was extremely bland, I don't think I've ever had a more flavorless curry in my life. And the fish tacos were highly questionable. Mahi mahi by itself isn't the right fish to use for fish tacos, but I've had mahi mahi tacos that were passable. The batter on this was flat out terrible. No flavor at all. We couldn't even finish the tacos. If I had actually paid money for this, I would have been pretty furious. Service was fine, no complaints on this front. Again, I'm not sure how this place has such a high rating. Very bland food. You can literally go anywhere else on this side of Maui and get way better food for your money. read more

Came during the week and enjoyed the 5-10pm live music. Menu has a good selection of food, albeit the battered fish tacos were a little soggy. Great view of the sunset and ocean. The adult drink choices are many and pretty good. Fairly quick service and amicable staff. Highly recommend booking a table at least a day in advance if not longer. Overall great experience, next to the outdoor mall. read more

I shouldn't have come, I should have come, I shouldn't have come! I stayed at the Westin Maui Resort at Ka'anapali and was given a voucher to spend on each stay so I decided to grab some crab cake, oysters and a dessert with my boyfriend to end our second evening in Maui. The crab cake was flat and dry and the oyster was filled with wakame and ponzu sauce so I didn't get much of the oyster taste. Around midnight, three to four hours after eating at Hale Mo'olelo, my boyfriend and I woke up to a severe case of food poisoning. We were both up in the bathroom for over 8 hours, couldn't even go out to buy medicine or get anything for our pain. I notified the front desk and they did nothing to help, afterall we got sick from one of their restaurants. Luckily, my boyfriend and I were able to place a couple orders on doordash for some charcoal pills, water, Gatorade, and food that we could barely touch. This was my first time getting food poisoned and I didn't go to the hospital hoping that we would get better. I had to cancel our submarine tour and luau during our third day in Maui and our flight was the following day. We have eaten oysters so many times before and had never gotten sick once. It was unfortunate, that we had to experience this during our short trip to Maui. read more

We absolutely love this place! Our first visit was to redeem the free welcome drinks from our hotel, but we ended up coming back for more. While relaxing by the pool, we enjoyed their poolside drink and food service and ordered the poke and lobster roll. Both dishes were absolutely delicious--some of the best food we've had in the area. The convenience, combined with the quality of the food, made this a memorable experience. Highly recommend if you're in the area! read more

If you're a tourist... this is a tourist trap! I used to live in Honolulu for years so my standards for local foods are probably higher than a typical tourist visiting the Hawaiian islands.. It is located at the Westin and looks nice but the food is awful... we ordered the North Shore Garlic Shrimp since the server even insisted that it's really good and "local style". The shrimp had no hint of garlic at all. It was just fried shrimp that was similar to coconut shrimp. The rice is drenched in aioli and disgusting. Also, my rice had blue fluff in it! I brought it up the guy collecting our plates who seemed like he could care less even after I showed him the blue stuff in my food. The waiter Ray (or Roy?) came back to ask about it so I told him there was blue fluff and he said "I will tell the manager about it" but still handed me the bill charging the garlic shrimp... pretty disappointing. read more
They have bomb mai tai. Probably one of our favorites. It's not too sweet and has a good tart level. But it's $16! More expensive then others around but it's because it a hotel bar in the Westin. They have live music and plenty of seating when everywhere else was full. Food was pricey of course but was pretty good! We ordered the wings, katsu sandwich and short ribs. The wings had good crispiness! The katsu sandwich was really good, huge chunk of chicken in it. The short ribs were good too, a little salty but had flavors. They should serve with a side of rice. If you can't get into anywhere else, this is worth trying! Plus, you can listen to live music and watch the sunset. read more
