Amazing night here at Gillian's for our last night in Maui. The host was a great personality and the dancers were so talented and looked like they enjoyed what they were doing! There was a good selection of sides(Buffet style), and it was filling. There was also dessert. Our waiter was a pleasant and friendly guy, I enjoyed his service and helpfulness. For a first luau, I recommend. We were only in the sun for about 30 ish minutes while sitting so it was perfect.

The place was really clean . The food was really good it was 3 of us . They are very welcoming and very organized. I loved the teriyaki chicken. The drinks needed some help they were way too strong . Our waitress was really nice . The show was great I definitely recommend.

Seating at the premiere seats for dinner b4 the show started.

The food was good, service was good as well but the servers were in the way when the dancers were on stage. Ambiance was ok, considering it was the golf courses Bar & grill. Fire dancer was the highlight!

We had a wonderful time! Dancers, music and food were all great. New stage with beautiful background. Highly recommend

Both performances were top-notch, showcasing incredible local talent and creating unforgettable holiday memories for our whole family. The theater's website made booking tickets a breeze. Everything was clearly laid out and user-friendly, which made the process stress-free from start to finish. Ticket prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the entertainment. Concessions are available and offer a nice variety of snacks and drinks to enjoy during the show. While the bathrooms are located outside, they are easily accessible and clean. Upon check-in, the friendly staff let us know whether there would be an intermission, which was really helpful for planning our evening. Overall, Pro Arts Theater provides a welcoming, intimate atmosphere and outstanding performances. We highly recommend this local gem to anyone looking for a great night out in Kihei!

A few days later, we all came back and brought more friends. Yeah, it's just that kind of place! Every time we came in, the bouncer, wait staff, and bartenders were welcoming and totally on it. The drinks were spot on (why no pics? We were too busy drinking!) and the food hit the spot. Both karaoke KJs were welcoming, organized, and talented singers. Songs are texted in using the well placed codes about the bar. Many of my friends sang on the different nights. The sound was good, the mic/s were good, and the music choices were available. The only meh part for one friend was for one song where the music was slower and in a different key, but my vocally talented friend adjusted. No worries - it just wasn't her favorite. She still rocked it! Everyone here in the crowd was cool. People were really friendly and lots of folks who didn't know each other were chatting amongst themselves and with us. The singers that showed up ran the gamut from fun loving to full of passion all the way to "is this a professional?" Everyone in the audience was appreciative and positively responsive, with lots of high fives, fist bumps, and cheers. And really, isn't that the beauty of karaoke? Sharing and appreciating each other's bravery, talent, passion, and energy? For that, this place is must definitely THE place.

The bartenders were doing the best they could on the busy night and the crowd was very understanding. On the slower and more average nights you could tell everyone was less stressed. From some of the reviews here you'd think some people have never been in a local dive before. I came mainly for the karaoke, which runs every night. Easy system for requesting a song- just send a text with your name, artist, and title. Good crowd for karaoke too, everybody applauds, a mix of good singers and people fueled by liquid courage. Again, just what you want in a karaoke dive bar. Only bar I've ever been into that had a dB SPL meter behind the bar, too. I didn't ask for the story behind it, but I bet there is one. Terrible cell phone reception here, and I kept forgetting to ask for the WiFi password. So if you're using a ride share service, plan ahead. Glad to have a favorite karaoke spot on the island now. I'll be back!

We ordered a 50/50 pizza of Chicken Thai-phoon which has a sweet chili sauce, tasty chicken, green papers, pineapple, basil, & cilantro. The kalua pork has bbq sauce, succulent pork, pineapple, & green onions. Both pizzas are unique, mouthwatering deliciousness that combine sweet, a bit o' heat, and lots of savory flavors along with textures. The unique sauces really amp these pizzas up with flavor. However, when we order next time, we'll likely ask for light sauce as even though it's incredibly tasty, it was on a little heavy for our preference. The tiki fries were also delicious! On one of our trips we polished off two baskets full! Savory with umami flavor and crunchiness, it's easy to have two baskets disappear quickly! Service is always friendly! You're sure to be greeted with a smile and good humor. In the afternoons and evenings there's live music sometimes and that just adds to the overall wonderful experience of hanging out here.

However, the owner took the time to respond and explain that the entire shopping center wing was experiencing cooling issues and that the restaurant was dealing with significant staffing shortages at the time. While that doesn't completely change the experience we had, I appreciate that the owner acknowledged the challenges and responded professionally rather than dismissing the feedback. One observation I would offer is that, as a customer, it was difficult to tell who was serving tables. I noticed several employees in Pint & Cork shirts moving around the restaurant, but only saw a couple of servers actively covering the dining area. It's possible some staff were assigned to bartending or other responsibilities, but from the guest perspective it gave the impression that table service was understaffed while other employees appeared unavailable. I still think there is room for improvement in the flow and logistics on the floor, but I appreciate the owner's willingness to engage with feedback and explain the circumstances. That being said, I would be willing to give the restaurant another chance. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATED REVIEW AFTER OWNER'S RESPONSE: 6.21.26 I appreciate the response. It's telling that you addressed the air conditioning, disputed the gender of an employee, and questioned whether I was even there, yet didn't meaningfully respond to the concerns about service, timing, attentiveness, or food quality. If a customer leaves with a poor experience, the question isn't whether they perfectly recalled every detail. The question is why they left with that impression in the first place. I suspect future readers can draw their own conclusions from both the review and the response. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Probably the most disappointing dining experience of our Hawaii trip. We specifically asked to sit indoors because we wanted a break from the Maui heat after spending the day outside. Unfortunately, we quickly realized there was no air conditioning, making the indoor seating barely any cooler than outside. The restaurant also felt severely understaffed. It took around 10 minutes just to get a Diet Coke, and every time I asked for assistance, the woman working at the register seemed to defer the request rather than help or find someone who could. Meanwhile, some employees appeared more interested in chatting than helping customers, while only one or two staff members seemed to be working the floor. I understand restaurants get busy, especially in a tourist area, but the issue wasn't just the wait--it was the feeling that customer service wasn't a priority. As for the food, it was nothing special. I ordered a steak that had a nice smoky flavor, but it arrived well done and overcooked. The rest of the meal was average at best and definitely not memorable enough to make up for the service issues. Between the lack of air conditioning, slow service, inattentive staff, and mediocre food, this was one of the few places in Hawaii where I genuinely regretted spending my money. Considering the location at The Shops at Wailea and the prices being charged, I expected a much higher level of hospitality and execution. There are far too many great dining options in Wailea to come back here.
