I ordered the Pandan Killer Milk punch, which is 8yr aged rum, Planteray Cut & dry rum, pandan liquer, clarified coconut, pineapple, vanilla, lime, and nutmeg. I was truly blown away! It's simple presentation was deceitful in the best way possible. All flavors were beautifully captured and left nothing else to be desired. The Pina Colada on the other hand....my friend felt extremely underwhelmed. The other two cocktails we had in the party were the Ultra Violet Seventy Five, which was very gin-forward and the Snoop PPOG, both of which were thoroughly enjoyed. We ordered 3 items from the Happy Hour Menu: Tuna Crunch, Sunomono, and Kimchi Dip. Tuna Crunch and Sunomono was my favorite. The Tuna Crunch had garlic chips, chili crunch, and ponzu sauce poured over table side. The Sunomono looked simple with a stack of cucumbers but it also had the most addictive sauce of Garlic Tamari, Chili Crunch and Micro Cilantro. The Kimchi Dip was delicious but I'm not a huge fan of Yorkshire Puddings and would rather had crostini's or bread for dipping. My cousin ordered an Old Fashioned and a Manhattan and he said the drinks were made real good. Another cousin and I opted for Alcohol free drinks, my cousin had one with grapefruit and I enjoyed my "martini" with mango and lilikoi (passion fruit). The Signature Sushi Rolls were delicious. We shared the Anuenue (Rainbow) which included Crab, Ahi, Salmon, Hamachi and Ebi and the Nani (Beautiful) which included Spicy Salmon, Cucumber, Avocado, Yakiniku Sauce, Sweet Soy and Micro Greens. We also ordered the Katsu Pork Belly which our bartender recommended. There's 6 crispy pieces atop Rice, Katsu Sauce, Cabbage and Japanese Curry Mayo. My cousin got the Hot Rock Maui Nui Venison Striploin which was cooked on the Hot Rock for 15 seconds per side and served with 4 Homemade Tortillas and Shiso Chimichurri. We shared dishes that featured Truffle Fries, Prime Rib Steak bites, Pipikaula Jerky, a Kampachi Filet and Fettuccine Alfredo. Cocktails were good, but nothing too special. Food was colorful and tasty, it came out quickly seeing that the resort wasn't jam packed like we've seen it before. Never thought I'd mention this but prices are reasonable considering its pricy exclusive Wailea. The beautiful Andaz Wailea Resort (a Hyatt collection) is perched 4 stories above sea level with tiered pools before ending on Wailea's Polo Beach and boardwalk. We had an opportunity to view their beachside suites a month back at a special event and are luxurious and spacious. And it's nice to enjoy dining during a cool Dec. sunset evening, but the sun goes down by 5:30 pm, so go a little earlier and use the valet parking.

We took the pizzas home, and they were delicious. Our favorite was the sweet kalua. It was not overly barbecuey or sweet, but actually pretty savory. The margherita pizza was good too. In general, their pizza stands out because there is not too much crust. It was not crispy, but instead airy and on the doughy side. The reason I am giving 3 stars instead of 5 is because one of our group members found a blonde hair baked into his pizza slice, not just sitting on top. That was disappointing, especially since the pizza itself was actually very good.

It's got that unmistakable dive bar energy: dark, unpolished, and full of personality, with a few Hawaiian touches sprinkled in to give it its own Maui vibe. The crowd was entirely colorful regulars and their pets including the dog of one of the bartenders. We even met folks later into the evening who knew the bartenders--and got some confirmation on their uniqueness. The biggest downside? Cowboys memorabilia on the walls. Vomit. Truly unfortunate. But despite that I can't resist a dive with real character. I wish we could have made it for a night out to get the full local dive experience!!! Go Steelers. -1 for Cowboys. But Kahale's? When you see someone in the party is disabled and using assistive devices you should be more accommodating. It kind of felt like we were being punished for not having a reservation. Also, expect a 3% service charge for the back of the house. Really, for the prices they charge for mahi fragments you could pay those people without a surcharge. Portions here are tiny. My mahi fragments were dry, over spiced and served with two unseasoned baby bok choi leaves and a slice of grilled tomato. For the price of almost $40.00. The beer was good and so was our server so they got one star for that. Otherwise, this place is touristy, overpriced and the maitre d' is slow on the uptake. Overall, there are plenty of great restaurants on Maui, recommend you try one of those.
