Fantastic bar tender!! Great atmosphere. Swim Up bar is laid back with full bar and great food selection.

I am reviewing this because my next door neighbor told me she went because I spoke so glowingly of Maui, the GW pool and Hawaii in general. Yes I stayed at the GW. See review. http://www.yelp.com/biz/grand-wailea-wailea I loved the hotel and pool. I loved that the pool and bar area was clean and not full of drunken vomit like the swim up bars in the Caribbean are. As a part of your vacation it is a nice option. Being from NYC which is half way around the globe , when I travel to Hawaii I want to experience the culture, food and people. I don't want to just sit at the pool like a drunken fool! You can't experience Hawaii that way! If that is what you want, go to the Caribbean!

Dude, it's a bar in a pool under a waterfall. Pretty snazzy. But plan to pay $14 for drinks, if not more. They're interesting drinks, though, including blended cocktails. It's fun, but crowded, with kind of loud music. It's a little chlorinated. You have to wade your butt over. But come on, it's a tiny bar. In a pool! Under a waterfall! This is Kodak moment stuff. Bring a waterproof camera. Order a drink. Relax under the sun. My only regret is that we bought the plastic $22 pineapple mug (bigger refills) thinking we would go back on our last day, but it rained, so it was kind of a wash. I'll always remember the Grotto, and booping around in a large maze of swimming pools with a giant mixed drink.

Margarita and two frozen drinks. The red and white drink had ice cream.

We didn't have reservations and upon arriving at the host stand, the female hostess was snobby and did not want to help us and instead, the male host sat us down at a communal table with ottermans for seats. We didn't feel like crouching down to eat so I went back to ask if we could sit at the bar. We moved to the bar and ordered from the bartender; I got the lobster roll and my husband ordered the poke nachos. We realized there was a musician playing and wanted to move closer to the music. So I decided to go back to the host stand and ask if we could get on the list for a table close to the musician. The female host proceeded to snob me WHILE she drinks from her hydroflask. The male host stated to me that since we ordered our food already, we are not allowed to sit on a table since those tables have servers too. He also had an attitude. I asked very nicely and felt that they thought I was interrupting their deep conversations. The male host reluctantly stated that the tables open up after 9:30pm. Management really needs to school these two on how to talk to guests with more respect. This was on 11/14/25, approx. 8pm. As local kama'aina, we expected more but those two failed miserably. After we finished eating our food, we closed out our tab and moved by the musician. Needless to say, we were nicely greeted by a waitress who asked if she can get us anything. This place could be so much more but our experience with the front of the house was enough for us to not return during our trip. On the flip side, the lobster roll was really good whereas the poke nachos was okay. There's so much more dining options within the Westin's vicinity with great service AND food, like Leilani's Beach Bar (at Leilani's on The Beach) so we would not recommend this place BUT if you want a good lobster roll, this is the place to have it.

We unfortunately left it to 8:30pm to find a dinner place (had a full day) and many places were closing soon. I came upon Happy Fish during my research and looked at the menu, everything sounded good. Upon arrival it was ~9pm and they close at 11pm, so still have a few hours. It was actually kinda busy for 9pm. Folks at the bar and a few tables. It was seat yourself though so we grabbed a spot and our waiter came within a couple minutes to greet us and bring waters. I already knew what I wanted: TROPICAL MAHI RICE BOWL: mahi filet over a bed of rice with slaw, mango salsa, poblano sauce, sour cream, cilantro & lime. The mahi was grilled and delicious!! I asked for a side of hot sauce and that completed the dish. Absolute !! The service was really great, I enjoyed Michael and his conversation. He was so interesting and definitely made the experience 5 for us. The other thing I really appreciated about Happy Fish is that they didn't bust your wallet. The prices were competitive and because of that, I'll definitely be back. I saw they have a happy hour menu too 9-11pm, I'm going to try that before I leave along with black light bingo Wednesday nights!! More fun to come and I'll def be telling all my friends and family who come to Maui to hit up Happy Fish. Amazing service, bomb food, great prices, and awesome vibe. Can't ask for anything more!!

The chicken nuggets we ordered for the kids were dry and honestly, I'd prefer Costco or McDonald's nuggets at that point--especially for $15+. The mac and cheese was just okay, but it also came out cold--another $15+ item. Everything is over $20, which would be fine if the food was worth it. My sliders were bland and also cold--no flavor at all. The only saving grace from the food side were the chicken wings--they were crispy and the sauces (especially the spicy one) were great. But--major shout-out to the bartender, Sean. He was awesome--super friendly, welcoming, and made the vibe a lot better amidst the food disappointment. He deserves 5 stars on his own. Now, the arcade itself? Fantastic for the kids! Great selection of games and prizes. We spent $40 and the kids had a blast, taking home some decent prizes. Bottom line: come for the arcade fun, not the food!
