It's been about 10 years coming to Kaanapali. We stopped at Pailolo for lunch. The prices sure have increased over the years. In 2015 the prices of a drink of the day was $6. Now it's $17. But the food is very solid. The drinks are good. They open at 11 and were instantly busy. There were lines of people getting drinks at the bar. It felt a bit understaffed and it took a while for our server to come over, but he was great. No complaints about food or service.

View is amazing!!! Best sports bar in area! Our group enjoyed the NFL playoff games with many TV's. Our server Zarian was the best server I've had. Food was awesome!!! Will definitely go back. Ask for Zarian's section!!!

Nice ambience here at the Westin location where this restaurant is located. Had a nice table near the evening singer near the fire pit and enjoyed both the fresh fish burger, coconut shrimp and the music. The fish was cooked just right. The coconut shrimp was butterflied and battered because it was thin, it was overcooked and couldn't really taste the texture of the shrimp. The waitress was attentive and came by regularly to check on whether we needed anything or not.

Why so many negative reviews? We're staying next door at the Westin Nanea. We couldn't get a seat at the bar n grill there so we walked over to the sister resort. The landmark is a food truck aptly named Pailolo. Come to realize later that's where the food is made. We spotted several empty tables from the boardwalk so we walked over and sat ourselves. We were soon greeted by a server who brought us water and menus. The three of us all ordered the fish n chips. Battered Ono. Cocktails - hubby had martini, I had a lava flow, and daughter had IPA. Our food came quickly. Small filets but very satisfying. Best battered fish we've had. After asking what's the coating we were told it's pancake batter. So onolicious. The fries were crispy and warm too. Pro tip: live entertainment on T-TH from 5:30p to 8:30pm. Last night (Tuesday) it was a solo guitarist. Both diners and non diners enjoyed the entertainment as the pool loungers are right there. Portion sizes are moderate. Just enough to ease any hunger pains.

Nice patio and other outdoor seating next to the resort. We just went for appetizers, had a 20 dollar gift certificate from bingo, but waitress led us down a goose chase to try and redeem it instead of doing it there, kind of ruined the mood a bit. Coconut shrimp was good though! Would recommend as long as you don't have a gift certificate you want to redeem.

Got the local catch fish tacos, served with pickled slaw and avocado moco sauce. Wait staff and bartenders doing great work. Can beat the open patio concept for ocean air and rays. Why fish tacos? Because fresh catch is the bomb.

Conveniently located within the Westin Ocean Resort Villas next to the beach and pool, Pailolo Bar & Grill is a good place to order meals and drinks while on vacation. The servers are friendly and helpful when deciding what to try out. There are plenty of tables on-site with good shading while enjoying the view of the beautiful and peaceful ocean during the day, and even better as the sun sets. The amazing view of the ocean and sunset can make it romantic with a casual setting. I ordered the following menu items (* = highly recommend) : *Food Truck Nachos *Island Fish Tacos Pound O' Wings Junior Cheeseburger The Food Truck Nachos are definitely sharable for 2-3 people. There is a generous amount of chips and BBQ Kalua Pork. I was also told that the Fish "N Chips are one of the favorites, but I ordered the Island Fish Tacos instead. The Island Fish Tacos are so deceiving because they appear small, but they are so fulfilling. The salsa that comes with the chips included in the dish was okay--just dip - don't heap the chips. The Pound O' Wings sizes are bigger than the typical winglets commonly offered from various restaurants, so when I opened the container, I expected to see more than 6 wings. They are good for a quick bite to eat by itself or on the side. The Junior Cheeseburger, I was told by my kin, was good but wasn't feeling the bun for some reason. The fries were good as well. There are plenty of cold adult beverages to try also, but since we had our own in our room, I didn't place an order even though I am very tempted to splurge and try something. You can order online by the QR code provided in the room, but the menu isn't the same as ordering in person and seeing the actual menu. Overall, try it at least once... well, maybe try it a couple of times, at least. If you love seeing the sunset, this is the place to enjoy good food, drinks, and the sunset ocean view.

I started off with a drink IN A CERAMIC PIG. Like, what could be better?? Hubs and I shared a fantastic nacho plate for our lunch, then asked about a dessert menu. I told her I was still working on it and she put it down and walked away. We asked to order ice cream. Waited about 20-30 mins and she never came back to bring the dessert. Finally we asked her again and she brought it out. We asked for the bill when the ice cream finally came out and again we waited probably another 10 mins before she brought the check. When we were ready to pay, she scanned our card and waited while we selected tip. We said we would pay tip in cash. This rude waitress stood by us waiting for us to hand her the cash tip. WHO DOES THAT!!! This lady was so rude and I would highly recommend finding another place to eat because there are so many better options. Whoever runs this place should really invest in customer service training for their employees...

We didn't have reservations and upon arriving at the host stand, the female hostess was snobby and did not want to help us and instead, the male host sat us down at a communal table with ottermans for seats. We didn't feel like crouching down to eat so I went back to ask if we could sit at the bar. We moved to the bar and ordered from the bartender; I got the lobster roll and my husband ordered the poke nachos. We realized there was a musician playing and wanted to move closer to the music. So I decided to go back to the host stand and ask if we could get on the list for a table close to the musician. The female host proceeded to snob me WHILE she drinks from her hydroflask. The male host stated to me that since we ordered our food already, we are not allowed to sit on a table since those tables have servers too. He also had an attitude. I asked very nicely and felt that they thought I was interrupting their deep conversations. The male host reluctantly stated that the tables open up after 9:30pm. Management really needs to school these two on how to talk to guests with more respect. This was on 11/14/25, approx. 8pm. As local kama'aina, we expected more but those two failed miserably. After we finished eating our food, we closed out our tab and moved by the musician. Needless to say, we were nicely greeted by a waitress who asked if she can get us anything. This place could be so much more but our experience with the front of the house was enough for us to not return during our trip. On the flip side, the lobster roll was really good whereas the poke nachos was okay. There's so much more dining options within the Westin's vicinity with great service AND food, like Leilani's Beach Bar (at Leilani's on The Beach) so we would not recommend this place BUT if you want a good lobster roll, this is the place to have it.

I found this place on line and when we drove over to it from our resort on Kaanapali, my husband pitched a fit because it was in a strip mall and he thought it was going to be terrible. We walked in and it was nicer than I thought it would be. He still wasn't convinced. We went back to the resort and went to one of the hotel restaurants on the beach, his idea of where we should be on our last night - despite the fact that we'd already had oceanfront dining at two other places and were ready to try something different. The rest of us didn't want to be there. My daughter got dress-coded for having a bathing suit top on at the beach (literally oceanfront, outdoors, and part of our resort). I get it, but it just added to the mood. The water they gave us tasted like it came out of a hose. The prices were dumb. We left. Everyone was mad at dad. And hangry. After going back to our room and looking at our options, we decided to go back to the first place (Sergio's) and just get takeout. I ordered a bunch of stuff, we picked it up and brought it back to our room. Everyone - even my husband - agreed the food was amazing and probably the best meal we'd had all week. Bonus that it didn't break the bank. Looking back in my camera roll, I actually did not take photos. Probably because I was mad. You should still go. The reason for my extremely late review is today I was talking to someone about to travel to that area and I told her she might want to look it up. They deserve the rave review.

The chips and salsa were yummy. Chips perfectly salted and the salsa was uniquely blended, not a ton of spice but pretty nice. I ordered the nachos, they were pretty standard. Enough meat and cheese. The chicken was very tender and flavorful and I liked the good amount of pico de gallo on there. Honestly wish I had tried a salad they sounded very scrumptious. The people I was with ordered the pork tacos and the kids taco plate, both looked good and were pretty standard. Service was pretty nice and attentive, ambiance was decent. All in all, wouldn't go out of my way to come back, wouldn't be opposed to it. :)
