I do like the new location of this brewery. No longer in a strip mall, instead on the beach of Ka'anapali, it seems to be way busier than the last location which has to be a good thing, I would think. Same great beer, new atmosphere, friendly staff...what is not to like. Other than trying to find a place to park! LOL

Get the IMPERIAL COCONUT if you're a fan of dark chocolatey beers. It is like a Guinness on vacation. I got the flight but would just get the imperial next time. OMG HAZY was also good but I didn't like the Maui lite. It tasted like water to me but I am not a light beer person so I feel that is unfair for me to claim. Lahaina town brown was also good for a lighter dark beer.

The location is beautiful! MBC Has lots a great beers to choose from so my husband was happy. I enjoyed a Mai Tai and it was delicious, especially the vanilla pineapple foam on top. Our waitress was very friendly and gave ua wonderful suggestions.

Dropped in on a Saturday night and was told it'd be a 45 minute wait. Shopped the gift shop and picked up a coaster and then got to the front to be told that our table was ready early. Tried the Da Hawaii Life, pork buns, and fish and chips. Lager 5/5 buns 3/5 not bad but wish there was more sauce and that pork was more melty or cripsy fish 3/5, crispy and huge portions but I didn't think particularly tasty. Fries 3/5 very average. Something under the table (which was inside) kept dripping on my foot.

Nice view, location is right on the beach. Food was bland no taste at all. Were out of several items on the menu. Service was mid.

We came for happy hour, waited in line to get a table, were told it was a 45 minute wait and put our names down. We walked down the beach and back, checked in, and found out the rude hostess had put us down as waitlist for the bar not the general seating or both. We would have completely missed happy hour. We were seated quickly after that. The hostess stand is a hot mess express! The service was very similarly disheveled. Waiters and food runners would run to many different tables looking for where they were supposed to drop off food, beers, plates, utensils, etc. It was comical how badly organized it all was. That said, our waiter was friendly and got us our food. The beers were tasty! The food was good. The truffle fries were fantastic, flavorful, and just the right size portion. The pork bao buns were not buns but tacos and the pork was so tiny in there they should have at least added some more veggies or something - it was mostly bread and would not have been worth it at full price. We love Maui Brewing, but have seen many other locations do it SOOOOO much better than these guys.

Great location, especially when you remember to get your parking validated...definitely a FREE score. The views of Kaanapali Beach are amazing, worth the trip for local brewed beer alone. The wait staff were friendly, easy going and accommodating. The menu is pretty basic, so if you are looking for bar food Oceanside this s the place to go. If you plan on coming make reservations in advance, they have two lines upon arrival and the non reservation one gets pretty backed up..

Out of several beers and my husband was really disappointed! I had a chicken cobb salad and husband had short ribs. Dishes weren't very good.

Came here the other night with my husband being hopeful that they would be open with the storm. Thankfully for us, they were! Honestly, 5 stars for how they handled the storms. They were short staff due to worker's homes getting flooded but everybody that was present was truly genuine and kind. It was amazing to see such friendly faces amidst a difficult time. The wait was 2 hours but they sectioned off a side of the restaurant to wait. You could get to go food and order drinks from the bar. We opted to do this because we had been holed up in our hotel so why not sit and have a front row seat to the storm? The music was bumping, the drinks were flowing, and the thunder was rumbling. It was definitely a unique Maui experience! When our table was ready we were lucky to be served by Claudia. She was so kind, attentive, and personable. She made great conversation and had a wonderful attitude. You couldn't even tell the restaurant was so short with how everyone worked together! Finally, the food was great and for a solid price. We shared the fish and chips and burger and were pleasantly surprised with both! The tartar sauce was so yummy! My husband and I found ourselves saying we enjoyed ourselves more here than at some of the expensive restaurants that we dined at on our trip. Would 100% come back! Thanks to everyone who made our last night on our babymoon memorable and for being so pleasant during such an awful storm.

Located on the property of the Outrigger hotel, you really have to seek this place out if you want to come here. Parking is validated if you park inside the hotel's parking structure. We came for dinner and the ocean views are terrific during sunset. The restaurant is spacious and there's ton of natural sunlight and airflow. We've been to the location in Kihei where there's live music and we expected the same here, only to be told that they don't have live music at this location. Food wise, I thought it was ok. We got the pork belly baos, fish and chips, and braised short rib. I really enjoyed the pork belly baos - it was super fatty and basically melted in your mouth. The fish and chips were whatever - your run of the mill staple while the short rib was decent. The carrots and zucchini were not cooked at all. However, the reason why you're coming here is probably for the beer and with that, it's a great spot to grab a drink and soak in the ambiance and vibes.

Came here for drinks after the beach without reservations. Wait for a table was only about 15 minutes but we opted to find a seat at the bar. Immediately the bartenders took our orders. The Maui Lime Lager was light and great for the hot day. The beer flight is customer choices. The tvs were on near the bar with one on basketball and the other on random shows. But the bartender was willing to change the second tv to a hockey game when we asked. Good place for a chill no frills afternoon.

The location is great. The food looked good on paper, did not workout in reality. Ordered the ube pancakes which tasted like regular pancakes with purple food coloring and coconut syrup. The haupia ice cream made some of it edible. The ipa biscuits and sausage gravy sounded good in theory, but it was horrible. The gravy was a watery thin substance that had no flavor. The biscuit was a triangle dried crusty stale focaccia bread and there was a tiny dried bite size piece of sausage buried under an egg. This was the second time we've been to a Maui brewing co in Hawaii and it's a bummer that it didn't turn out to be as good as it seemed. At least the view of the ocean was beautiful! Service was ok.

If you're working as a bartender, the bare minimum should be acting like you don't hate your job. The bartender came off extremely unfriendly, with a very dry personality, and made no effort to check in or see if we needed anything. The only time we got even a hint of a smile was when it was time to pay the bill--which says a lot. Working in customer service means you don't let a bad day trickle down to your guests, and unfortunately, that's exactly how this experience felt. As for the food, it was just okay--nothing memorable. What really stood out (in a bad way) was the pricing. Charging $17 for a burger and then an additional $5 just to add lettuce and tomato feels like nickel-and-diming customers. At that point, just price the burger at $22 and be upfront about it--it's a much better experience than feeling upcharged for basic toppings. Overall, between the poor service and questionable pricing, I won't be returning anytime soon. Hopefully they can make improvements, especially when it comes to customer service.

Extremely Disappointing Experience, Especially for a Montage Property!…read more We dined at Cane & Canoe last Monday Jan 5th and unfortunately had one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've had--particularly given the prestige of the Montage brand. We planned this dinner carefully. Reservations were made well in advance, originally through our hotel (The Ritz-Carlton), and I personally spoke with Cane & Canoe twice beforehand to ensure everything was correct. The reservation confusion began before we even arrived in Hawaii. On Thursday, the restaurant called to confirm a Saturday reservation, which we never had--we were arriving Sunday and had booked Monday. I immediately called back, asked them to cancel Saturday, reconfirm Monday for three people (2 adults & 1 toddler), noted that it was two birthdays (my husband and my young son), and requested a high chair. Despite this, I received confirmation text for both reservations on Monday morning and had now 2 reservation on Monday a party of 2 and a party of 3, I received a call for confirmation, which I then clarified everything one more time before arrival. When we arrived for our Monday dinner at 5:30pm: * There was no acknowledgment of the birthdays * There was no high chair available, and it took quite some time for staff to locate one * The service was inattentive from the start Our server (his name on his name tag was Juan, however went by John, or Steve--I honestly don't recall) appeared disengaged and uninterested in being there. Rather than focusing on service, he spent time telling us what wasn't available: * Several menu items were "out" * A wine my husband ordered was unavailable * He claimed there was a pineapple shortage across the island, which was baffling given that our hotel had plenty of pineapple available all week This constant emphasis on scarcity set a negative tone and felt unnecessary. More importantly, service was extremely lacking. Our water and wine glasses sat empty. No one checked on us. We had to flag down other staff for assistance. There was no effort to make the evening special--or even pleasant. This wasn't just "bad service"; it actively impacted what was meant to be a birthday celebration for my husband and son. We are frequent Montage guests at other properties, and this was our first time in this part of Maui. While we were not staying at the Montage Maui, we chose Cane & Canoe expecting the level of hospitality the brand is known for. What we experienced was shockingly below standard. After dinner, I went to the concierge to share the experience. They apologized but could not do much beyond that and suggested I speak with management (I didn't have a desire at that time to spend more time on the negative), but instead I told them I would write a review! For the price point, the brand reputation, and the expectations that come with a Montage property, this restaurant falls incredibly short. The food itself was unremarkable--but the lack of service and care was the real issue. I would not return to Cane & Canoe, would not recommend it, and honestly would think twice about staying at the Montage Maui in the future based on this experience alone. Extremely disappointing.

That was so buttery delicious and small enough to make you want more! The homemade taro rolls with butter, oil and honey was a nice accompaniment. Our second course was just right portion wise and savory. My cousin even said he was full, which never happens since he loves to eat! My other cousin enjoyed his Shrimp Scampi with fresh house made tagliatelle, capers, Kula tomato and basil. The dessert course was a great way to end our meal. I got the Pineapple Upside Down cake with a scoop of Ube Ice Cream, biscotti crumble and Kula Rum Caramel. My cousin's panna cotta was made with local Maui Kuia Chocolate and chantilly cream with a tuile that had light sprinkle of black pepper. Overall, a wonderful experience and only $79 for the 3 courses! We will definitely be back.
