    Food & Beverage Menu 1/2 - March 2020 - VN
    Vince N.

One of my friends always mentioned a bar named 'Poni' that she frequents. Not being a fan of typical Korean bars where a $20 drink buys you company, I was happy to know that Poni isn't that kind of establishment. ATMOSPHERE: Poni is located in the same row of businesses in Puuone Plaza that includes Tokyo Tei and M Sushi. The bar is split into two rooms though the lower room is more of a storage area and where the women's restroom is located. Décor is minimal and the place was clean. Seating styles include bar top, high tops, low tops and picnic-style tables. Color-changing LED rope lights span the ceiling which gives the place a dreamscape-like ambiance in hues of pink, blue and purple, so pictures will come out horribly (see my menu pics). TV's line the bar and pay-for karaoke is available ($1 per song or $2 if no one claps, according to the sign, LOL). There were just four others there on a Friday night around 7pm, with a few souls trickling in thereafter. Reggae tunes played overhead. MENU: Full bar along with a small menu of Asian-influenced bar apps, local fare like saimin, spam and egg sandwich, and oyster shooters. EXPERIENCE: My gang and I were going to attend a funeral nearby so we decided to pop in and have just one drink. Our two chardonnays and one beer came out to $18 and change. Paying via credit card would result in the fee being passed onto us (75-cents for this particular amount). Conversing was easy as the music was at the perfect level. The bar was nice and cool inside. SERVICE: Greeting was immediate and very friendly. We were a party of just three so the server broke down an 8-topper in half for us. Drink service was lightning quick as the place wasn't very busy at 7pm. OVERALL: Chill vibe, great service. I'd return!

Great vibes! Delicious drinks. Wonderful bartenders and servers. Karaoke too! For seating inside, there are a couple of stand up tables, a couple of booths, and a few tables for small groups plus the bar seating :) Awesome place and can't wait to come back already! Find Poni near Tokyo Tei. Plenty free parking in the area.

Let's just say there wasn't a single thing on the table I regretted ordering. Everything looked amazing and tasted even better. Honestly, if calories don't count on vacation, I was doing great. Huge shout out to Joe! He kept checking on us to make sure everything was perfect. I told him to surprise me with a drink, and he came back with the Island Magic...and wow, he wasn't kidding. That drink was dangerously good. If I didn't have a flight to catch in an hour, Joe probably would've had me missing my plane! Great food, great drinks, great service, and a clean, welcoming place. What more could you ask for? Tiffany's is officially my #1 must visit spot in Maui. Do yourself a favor come hungry, order the Island Magic, and maybe don't schedule a flight right after......just in case.

My coworkers and I went for their Happy Hour. They got refreshing Margaritas and I got myself the Paia Bay which had rum, coconut cream, pineapple and POG (Passion Orange and Guava). If you like fruity and creamy cocktails like me, this is a great choice! I think it was dusted with some Nutmeg which gave it a nice kick of spice while sipping. We ordered the Spicy Tuna Poke Nachos as our starter. It had crispy won ton chips, spicy ahi, and cucumbers mixed with the spicy sriracha aioli and furikake on top. We got 2 Fish and Chips and my coworker shared a sliver of her Baja Shrimp Tacos with me (which I wasn't able to take a photo of lol). The Fish and Chips had a nice crispy beer batter with Seasoned Fries and 3 sauces, ketchup for the fries, tartar sauce with yummy dill and the most delicious guava vinegar! I am a sauce lover so I loved the trio! The Baja Shrimp Tacos were nice and crispy with a pico de gallo on the side and a salsa verde butter. I love the Harborside setting and the seaside theme inside with a nice bar and the open concept is very inviting and refreshing! If we had more time, I would've loved to try their dessert menu. Guess it just means I'll have to come back soon! Happy Hour is 3-5 pm and if you're Kama'aina (Resident) you can enjoy a 25% discount this month of May. This is a nice spot to take friends and Ohana!

Easy parking, cute shops to check out treats and then headed to brunch. We were seated in the back overlooking the plantation. It was spectacular! Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. I got a side salad with the papaya dressing and the maui onion soup en croute at the waitresses recommendation, both were so good and the greens were grown right at the farm. My husband got the Caesar salad with chicken, he liked it. One son got the loco moco and said it was good. We were very happy with the location, the ambiance and the food.

We were with locals who actually live here, so there was no excuse for the attitude. The vibe? Absolutely dead. Zero friendliness, zero aloha spirit. If this place thinks this is "hospitality," then the owner clearly doesn't care. Honestly, the bartender needs anger management classes or maybe just a different career altogether, because customer service clearly isn't for her. Do yourself a favor: don't waste your money or your time here. There are plenty of better places where you won't be treated like garbage the second you walk in.

When the steaks are brought out warm it is delicious, but who wants to eat a cold steak. What was more embarrassing was the manager tonight coming out to explain to us that it's because of the health department standards that our steak can be cold, depending on the temperature we order. He was trying to tell me because I order medium rare, it's typical for the steak to come out cold sometimes. What a lame excuse. Just apologize and move on. He reluctantly offered me a $10 discount, but truly, I would've been more impressed with an apology or nothing at all. The excuse that it's the health departments fault is absurd. I guess all the other restaurants we visit have figured out how to bring out our steak medium rare and not cold but fuegos has not. Yikes.
