We walked up and were quickly greeted. We ordered at the bar as directed then sat down. The music here was a great mix of b-sides and classics. I also had a quick conversation with the bartender who confirmed that the bar was loved by Deadheads. He was friendly. I wasn't too hungry so I had the macaroni and cheese. It was a small but sensible size (see picture). It was sooooo creamy and delicious. The top crust was great. Other things to note: The bathroom was clean. No real parking. Had to go to the paid parking around the corner Everything on this island is pretty expensive including the Mac and cheese Recommended. I would come back

This was my first stop upon touching down! Live music? Incredible happy hour, great vibes, and smash burgers??! What more could a gal ask for after crushing 3 nights of phish at the sphere? To say this place is reviving me would be an absolute understatement. Further, when this joint has 99% 5 star reviews and 1 overly long descriptive 1 review...I think that only adds to the legitimacy of the establishment. Blaze is an incredible bartender and will make you just about anything! 5 stars. Brad from Chicago is alright (jokes, the staff is welcoming and made me feel right at home)! Here's to solo traveling and feel safe and sound in an area I know nothing about!

This is the place for real good food such as the Smash Burger and Cucumber Salad. Fresh patties for sure and definitely fresh cucumbers! Definitely go for the Toasted Eggplant too! I like the place for its funky designs. Lots of outdoor space and best for a cooler day. Wonderful and warm service.

This is the second time I've been to The Parlay, this time with my family. Everything about this place gets it right. The relaxed, retro vibe is the first thing I experienced, with the worn, lived-in furniture, soothing green color decor with lots of wood, people enjoying each other's company. The woman who took our order was charming and welcoming. My son-in-law ordered a smash burger and tater tots, my wife, daughter and I ordered a cucumber salad and eggplant. My son-in-law said the smash burger was one of the best he's ever had --- and he went back again with my daughter to order it again on another day. My wife, daughter and I loved the cucumber salad and eggplant --- both of which were prepared incredibly well. Lots of restaurants don't get salads right; this one does.

The Parlay Maui We've been on a bit of a sewing adventure lately & after class we're starving. Luckily The Parlay Maui just so happened to be in walking distance. Plus the three of us haven't been here yet. At least until now. From the street view this place looks hella cute. Plus it wasn't to busy inside when we arrived. You order & pay for your food with the cashier. Then you can sit wherever you like. Any drink orders are then placed at the bar with the bartender. We ordered a few plates to share. The garlic fries, thin cut fries with confit garlic. Fries are always fun & easy to eat. The Jalapeño pop dip, roasted jalapeño, cream cheese & Okinawaa potato chips. Was fun, I'd recommend mixing pieces of jalapeños to the dip. Plus added more veggies to dip. I actually preferred the celery crunch over the chips. Roasted cauliflower with miso beurre blanc, chili crunch, peanut & scallions. Definitely a fun way to eat cauliflower. Crispy brussels sprouts, prosciutto, parmesan & balsamic. This was my favorite dish, the flavor combos & textures were perfect. Blackberry bourbon smash, bourbon, blackberry syrup mint & lemon. Now this drink is strong but beautiful. However my current favorite goes to the Spa Collins with gin, cucumber, chereau aloe liqueur & soda water. Super tasty & simply refreshing. This would probably also make a fun date night spot too. Until next time. XOXO, ChelsieFletcher I'm

I finally made it over for taco Tuesday and mannnnnn these tacos are good. I wish the margs were on a bit of a better deal but you can't beat sitting on the couches with some yummy chow and your foster dog (adopt dont shop!)

Update 6:30PM Aug 2025 Colleagues, Over 20 something's, beards, tattoos, dogs, Kid's Parents were in force. And, First Friday vibes made this place buzz! Ordering is interesting: Food runners can take drink orders and drop product, but don't take food orders or cash out. You can place food orders and pay at the counter (or with your bartender if they're not busy) but drink orders will need to be paid with your bartender. Not very efficient if it's busy and you need to leave. Food is pretty quick if they can find you and your table number. $14 Smash burger is a hearty, greasy sando without garnishes. Didn't taste no pickled jalapeño and It's on the verge of collapse so use napkins. $24 Fish and chips are hot and tasty for three small pieces. $27 Steak Frites was great and slightly underseasoned. $18 Frozen Midori Sour was good and refreshing, but seemed like 1/3 froth. 5 gallon self serve water is near the kitchen window. Indoor outdoor ambiance is friendly. Behaved Pets are welcomed.

Stopped in for a quick lunchtime snack & drink. Shoutout to our bartender who said yes to serving us their brunch cocktails at noon! I had a boozy cold brew (which I loved) and my friend went full tropical with an Aperol Spritz. We shared the jalapeño popper dip which came with these absolutely amazing crispy purple sweet potato chips that I'm still thinking about. The dip itself was perfectly spicy. I also tried the roasted cauliflower appetizer, which somehow managed to be healthy and addictive. Absolutely coming back for full-blown brunch, I can't wait to see what they do when they're in their brunch prime. I also heard it's a great place to come and watch your favorite sports ball game, if thats your thing.

    Kale Salad

Convenient location, within walking distance from local offices and county buildings. Pleasant greeting. Signage for womenʻs restoom needs to be fixed and I forgot to mention it before I left. Sign directed me outside and I went to my right I ended up in the kitchen prep area. Sign needs a left arrow on it. Menu seems interesting with a vegan cashew dip. I ordered the kale salad at the recommendation of the hostess. $15 for small sized salad of kale, dressing and crumbled croutons. I expected it to be an entree size but it wasnʻt. Dressing was heavy, and was also quite salty. Service style is not unfamiliar but not my favorite. 1. Find your own table. 2. Order from hostess. 3. Get your own drinks from the bar. If you come here and want a dedicated wait person, sit at the bar.

What went well? Everything! The food was fabulous. The service excellent. The ambiance clever and fun. We enjoyed it so much we visited multiple times during our stay!

Not many places opened late at night around here, but I understand why. The neighborhood around this area is a little shady. Didn't have a chance to stop at some of the stores, would have wanted to, but I didn't want to be around a bunch of druggies and homeless people. I left to get away from that. This restaurant/bar is pretty chill though, vibes are there, loud like a bar, but has outdoor seating which cancels a lot of the noise. Music is good.. and food is decent. Fish n chips were good, could have used some more flavor, but the sauce made up for it. The fried sweet potato was good. My fiancé gave the smash burger a 3.5 out of 5. Maybe the alcoholic drinks are better than everything else. Decent customer service. Took a minute to get our order in.

I met this cutey at parlay.

We've been to parlay four times now and every time it has been great. We love the fun atmosphere. We had a smash burger, but forgot to tell them not to put the jalapeño sauce on it - too spicy. Had the best BLT I've ever had, and I'm a BLT aficionado. It's all about the bacon, well, it's also about the bread the lettuce and the tomatoes - all were excellent and plentiful.. Great cocktails, pricey, but good. And I can't forget the fish and chips and or FRESH FISH sandwich. The fish was perfectly cooked. It's a fun, friendly atmosphere great for family, friends, and dogs. I met the cutie in the attached pic at parlay.

Parlay stepped up their game yet again!!! Tried the short ribs yesterday and they were incredible. Can't wait to go back and try the risotto and steak bites :)

The outdoor seating is refreshingly simple, but once you step inside, it's pure vibe. There's a thoughtful design touch to everything--from the mid-century glassware to the way each drink seems to have its own personality. They're not just slinging cocktails here; they're crafting an experience. I ordered the VOG CUTTER--Pisco, watermelon, lemon, absinthe, cubeb bitters--and it came topped with a pickled watermelon garnish. I'm usually not an absinthe fan, but this drink was perfectly balanced, bright and herbal with just enough edge. It landed squarely in the "perfect cocktail" category for me. My partner had the Velvet Elvis and was equally impressed. We both kept commenting on how varied and intentional the drinkware was--punch cups, tea glasses, you name it. It makes everything feel more special. The bartender was sharp, friendly, and clearly knew the menu inside and out--eager to help guide us through the options and talk about the thought behind each drink. At one point, a child wandered in by mistake (Esters is 21+ due to its bar zoning), and the bartender gently asked them to leave--but not before handing over a vanilla wafer as a parting gift. One of my favorite touches? The name. There's actually a thoughtful explanation printed right on the menu: "Esters are natural compounds that are created through chemical reactions during fermentation. Esters give a diverse range of aromas and flavors to rum." It's a subtle homage to the science of spirits--and it fits perfectly with the experience Esters delivers. If you're looking for a cocktail bar that hits on every level--drinks, vibe, service--Esters Fair Prospect is the move.

We started with the crispy kanpachi toll. Then tried the special (uku), the scallops, a salad and cioppino. Everything was so fresh and perfectly cooked. The mash was perfect with whatever sauce the scallops had. We topped it off with two desserts because we couldn't make up our minds. The hostesses fake smile upon entering could be better, we mistakenly gave her the wrong amount in our party and apologized, she sat us at a 4 top at first, until I asked her to be moved to a bigger table with at least one more seat for a child, I apologized again. Her tone and demeanor were trash. Mind you we got to the restaurant at 4, there were 5 tables dining outside. Our waitress I think Alyssa? was her name hadn't introduced herself yet just kept reminding us she'd be right with us so cool, fine. She seemed to be taking care of more tables than she could handle alone. By the time she came to us to take our drink orders it was 4:40, she reminded us about happy hour which ended at 5 so twenty minutes for us to get a margarita or two in before it ended. Although drinks took longer than usual. We had to bother her at 4:59 to put in our last happy hour drinks. The margaritas were inconsistent bc the second round for me was stronger than the first the opposite for my friends who ordered a different flavor. The coconut heaven wasn't very good for an $18 cocktail. Food wise, their crostinis for the appetizers were stale and the braised short ribs my friend ordered was dried out on the outside and a bit gamey, which was unfortunate. Our steaks, the salmon and the risotto were a hit. Just to get to the dessert portion of our meal and to get another drink we waited 20 minutes for our server to come back, I had to step outside, sure enough our server is at the hostess stand leaning on it on a phone scrolling probably talking stories with the rude hostess. Server brought out the birthday dessert we sang hbd, she left and didn't take our dessert order until after almost 10 minutes. Birthday girl and I ordered a tres leches cake.. barely any leches it was dry just by looking at it, her and I agreed it tasted like pancakes with syrup. We were both disappointed, my friends ordered the brownie which the birthday girl tried and enjoyed most. Please don't get me wrong Alyssa was kind and friendly. The attentiveness to her guests is the issue. We spent most of our time waiting for her to return and check in on us. Also an FYI, for those thinking of visiting Fuegos. They charge a service fee. In your tab there is three different total amounts at the bottom. Your actual meal total then a cash payment amount vs a non-cash payment amount which is more. Unaware of what percentage the service fee is, they could be adding any amount they'd like for all we knew. No breakdown what-so-ever. If they intend to charge a service fee I believe it should be company policy that they notify guests as well as on their menus/website and by mouth from servers about this service fee. I understand it's common amongst businesses, but a simple notice would suffice. I asked the server about them and she said "it's not the tip, but a service fee we have, I'm sorry". It wouldn't have made us wonder why our bill could've been less instead of paying more. We know now IF we ever choose to come back.
