We arrived at Moose's about 12:30 pm November 26,2021. After showing our QR code with ID we were allowed to sit inside. Our server Hayden was awesome! Brought us water to give us some time to look at the menu. By the time he was back with our waters, we were ready to order. Beer, Lava flow, Nachos to share. This is located on the second floor above Fred's, it has a great view of the ocean if you're in the front of the restaurant. I don't know how to describe the decor, but I liked all of the different pictures everywhere. They have bar food but everything we had was great, coconut shrimp, fish tacos, beef tacos and the Mahi Mahi fish and chips. We really enjoyed there cocktails and would go back just for those. This was our last night in Maui...after a grueling Road to Hana trip...lol.. totally worth it... We were ready for a beer! The staff here at Moose McGillycuddy's is absolutely on point! No joke! The hostess...the super sweet bus lady...and of course Kevin were the Best !!! Not only is Kevin all over that restaurant making sure all of his customers are happy and have everything they need ...he does it with joy ! He was so personable and made the last night of our trip a great one I would repeat like Ground Hog day If I owned this restaurant I would be so grateful to have and be So pleased with my staff !! These folks are all gems!!! And work so hard!! They all work as a great team as well supporting one another and giving the Best customer service! The wings were great! But I will say the other food here we tried is ok...not great...we ate here 2nd day of our trip as well and the wings were the best thing I tried on the menu. What I will say is we had such fun! We came here straight from the beach - which didn't matter- super low key, chill vibe. Easy to find a seat at 1:30p on a Tuesday afternoon. Great views of the ocean and palm trees- we grabbed seats at the bar. Numerous televisions all over the restaurant - would be a fab spot to catch a game while visiting Maui. My boyfriend and I shared the nachos with pork. They did not disappoint. I forgot to snag a pic but there was sooooo much pork on there we had to ask for more chips! A good problem to have. :) They smoke the pork in house- so any entree or app with pork would be a great choice! The bartender was running the show behind the bar solo- and she did a great job- even chatted about some local stuff. Highly recommend swinging in here for a bite. While this some what hidden bar / restaurant may seem like you're typical bland American bar it is quite surprising and delightful . The staff is always very friendly and efficient. Danny was out waiter this last time I went and he was great ! They have a variety of American type bar food but they also have a great Kaloa pork that comes close to many I've tried at Hawaiian restaurants. I highly recommend trying it . Their drinks are also good and they have a decent happy hour . Overall I highly recommend coming here if you're in kihei and want a casual dine in experience with great food and veiw. read more

This was the first stop on my and my wife's foodie little foodie excursion. While our cocktails were pretty good, we really questioned the sanitary conditions of the bar. When we walked in towards the bar, there was a really strong yeasty, rotting beer smell. It was definitely not your typical bar beer smell. If I had to take a guess, I would think that they didn't clean their taps, that's usually what causes that smell. It basically causes stale beer to be mixed in with your fresh beer and the old beer actually starts rotting causing this really strong and specific odor. Other than the smell, the cocktails that we ordered were actually quite pleasant. This isn't necessarily a bad spot, I just would steer clear of their beer. It's close to the beach, so perfect for a quick drink after a swim and the service was friendly. read more

Update Jan 22 We came back tonight for happy hour. Our YELP listing has incorrect hours listed. We had the University Burger and the GOB burger. Both were enjoyable. The fries are the crinkle cut and we're just ok I had the French dip with the same fries. It was really not Roast beef flavorful. Kinda flat with melted cheese. The ah Jus Helped with horseradish. I wouldn't do it again. Very nice service Beer was ice cold and a frosty glass. We live this place. TheRueben on sourdough has been discontinued. She has a lot of requests for that. We LOVED Moose's!! Great view, great bartenders, friendly locals and an AWESOME vibe!!! This was absolutely "our kind of place!" We went for happy hour (and stayed late) almost every night of our trip!! Matt and Ian (and a female bartender whose name I didn't get, unfortunately) poured strong and delicious cocktails! The Mai Tais were the best we had in any of the bars we visited! The food was good, too. We really enjoyed the Kahlua pork sandwich! On Monday night they had bingo...SO much fun!! I won $5 in Moose Bucks! Whoop whoop! Wish we could have been there for Wednesday night Trivia, but it gives us something to look forward to on our next trip! Good spot to catch a sporting game and also have a view of the beautiful beach across the street! The food is pretty good and the drinks are cold and reasonably priced for the island. Don't be put off by the odd name or the tchotskis that adorn every inch of wall space in the place. The service is good and food and drink are you fast. The local clientele for early games can be obnoxious but they are harmless and eventually cool it and are friendly to the tourists. Don't miss the funny posters and things by the restrooms to read while you're waiting for your friends! This place is certainly entertaining and offers good air conditioning as a reprieve to the heat and bright sunshine outside. There's a ramp in the back as well for anyone with mobility issues. One of my favorite places to visit in Kihei! I absolutely LOVE the Lava Flow here. On the menu it says dessert in a glass next to it and that's exactly what it is! I don't want to know how many calories are in it, but it's a nice treat every once in awhile! I've gotten some of the burgers here before and they have always been delicious! Moose's is ok. Quite frankly, nothing is amazing but nothing is bad either. It's solid. It does have a nice view and if it's really hot, they close it up and turn on the A/C. They have a nice selection of tropical drinks if that's your thing, but they aren't amazing. Again, not bad either. The beer selection is, for lack of a better word, uninspired. The menu of pretty large... Mostly bar food, burgers, sandwiches etc. Everything was ok. Service was excellent even though they were pretty busy even we were there. read more

Went here this past Sunday, walked in and we were greeted right away by a friendly gentleman I think he was the owner. Told us we could sit anywhere si we chose a corner table. Asked us what we wanted to drink and handed us the menu. We ordered 2 beers.. perfect for a hot day. Looked over the menu. We knew what we wanted. A nice Gal came over and took our order on a phone, pretty sweet. We chose to have everything come at once as we were going to share both dishes. We had a nice conversation as we waited for our food. There were a few tackles being occupied by guests. A family of 4 sat behind us, a table with 7 people sat in the other cornerand a few guys and gals were at the bar. People were depressed at a good distance. Our food came and everything looked delicious. I couldn't wait to dig in to the fish and chips. Food: Mahi Mahi with fries and a side of slaw 20 bucks it came with 3 fish pieces and a nice portion of fries. It was delicious with the sauce and the malt vinegar. I would order this again but I wish it was a little cheaper. Chicken nachos with a side guacamole. It was nice but it just looked too plain, everything was on the side. I guess people like it that way you can put it on if you want. The guac is 3 bucks for a container. That was good to. I will be back with more friends when ther time is right and social distancing and covid is outta here. I like that they wipe there tables as soon as you leave. This place has great views of the ocean that is right across the . It's upstairs above Fred's Mexican Food. It's a great sports bar with tons of TV screens. There is a large bar in the center with plenty of seating. Happy Hour daily from 4-7. It's a pretty fun place to hang out and the food is your typical delicious bar food. read more

Moose in Kihei, Hawaii? No moose here in Maui, except those mounted on the walls of this restaurant along with hundreds of pictures of patrons, and maybe a celebrity or two. Nobody from the post office walls!. Parking is very tight here -we didn't even try bringing our subcompact Nissan Versa Note hatchback, as the tiny 8' wide parking spots can barely fit a subcompact, and there is always a joker with an expensive BMW or Corvette parked over two spots -not that they don't want any dings on his (rented) vehicle, but that there just isn't enough rooms to fit all four wheels into the compact spots closest to the street. More room way in the back, with the locals in their big pickups. But I would back in, as turning around to exit is so difficult that it should be on the Hawaii state driving test! Our first night in Kihei, we walk 5 minutes from our condo on Maui Banyon Club, forgetting about trying to park the car. We arrive at 530pm, just in time to see the magnificent sunset over Kamaole Beach 2 outside the window. OK, the sunset is photo bombed by the telephone poles carrying the power lines, but you wanted an authentic Hawaiian view right? We always come here, not only because of the wide screen TVs showing the game, but because I love the half price Parrot Bay Lava Flow coconut rum colada strawberry puree drink, half priced between 4pm and 7pm. This is the only drink that I consume anywhere, it's that good -tastes like a strawberry daiquiri, but with more alcohol. We come back on a Thursday night. Wife and I eat a Costco Chinese cabbage salad beforehand in the condo. $16 Thursday night special of coconut shrimp fest, $2 off the regular price. We watch the sunset through the telephone wires, while sipping with straws the $5 20 ounce Parrot Bay Lava Flow topped with whipped cream, while others watch the NFL action on the three overhead screens. Service is good, and the $16 meal comes with enough to feed two people. Meal comes with 9 good sized coconut breaded shrimp, Asian coleslaw, and a bundle of fries. The shrimp come with the special spicy Mango chili sauce on the side, to add kick to the otherwise bland shrimp. Wife is always mothering me about eating my vegetables, but this is one case where we know she dislikes the Asian coleslaw, as it has a sharp bitter tinge to the taste. So my mother, or I mean my wife, this time leaves me to eat the vegetables. Clean up duty. World turned upside down! read more

Pretty dismal customer service. I'm an airline crew member and fly very frequently to Maui. First time I came here, waitress would not do individual checks for us. Second time I came, I lost my mask somewhere and asked if I could get one. A cheap paper mask like we give out on flights every single day. The hostess said no. Went again tonight, after stopping on the way to buy some snacks to eat later. This time, the hostess said I couldn't come in because I'd bought a couple of beers at the store to drink later, and had them in a bag in my hand. Our flight today was delayed almost three hours, plus we waited almost an hour at the front desk of the hotel for our rooms to be ready. So when it has already been a long day, just a hot meal did not seem like too much to ask. That's truly dismal service when a visitor from a foreign country faces obstacles on all three visits to a place which is supposed to cater to tourists. read more

My wife and I stopped by here on a Tuesday. It was actually Taco Tuesday and we had a great time. Happy hour is 4 to 7 unlike many places on the islands where it's something like two to five. Our server was Kalani and he was awesome. We ordered the coconut shrimp entree and had a couple of the tacos since it was Taco Tuesday. We also had some beers since they were on happy hour as well. The food was hot and good and we really enjoyed it The place is fairly low key, nothing fancy but that's what we liked about it. Very casual and very comfortable and reasonably priced. Way overpriced really bad bar food. We had the Fishermans platter with a side of potato skins. -The calamari was chewy with HARD inedible spots. Every other bite has an uncomfortable amount of spice and the menu doesn't mention that it's spicy. -Two pieces of fish that had uncooked batter on one side. Totally flavorless. -Three commercial coconut shrimp that were okay. -soggy commercial fries -potato skins were hard and dry. Ive been driving by this place for years and decided to give it a shot. The food was not only bad but it's the kind of bad that makes you worry about getting sick.
