I'm not sure why it took us so long to try this place. I remember going to their location on Oahu and having fun. This place is located upstairs right on South Kihei Road, across Kam II, just before the road closure due to the recent flooding. There is plenty of parking available. This place is pretty big inside with lots of tables and booths. It has the same eclectic decor that I remember. The service here is fast and friendly. They even had live entertainment! Moose Mcgillycuddy's is a fun area to hang out and grab a drink. They have their own parking lot shared with other establishments and there is also street parking. The restaurant is directly across the street from the beach, so you can sit near the windows to enjoy the ocean view with your meal. The servers were very nice and always checked up on us to make sure we're doing OK. We ordered the baby Moose wings, which are their buffalo wings. We also orders a few cocktails - passion colada, lychee martini, and the bourbon buck. The wings were good. Pretty much your standard buffalo wings. The drinks were good as well but more on the sweeter side. We only stopped by for a small snack and some drinks but definitely enjoyed our experience. Awesome place with happy hour and a sunset view of the beach! We came here with my four month old baby at the time, and despite the laid-back environment of a restaurant bar, this service was very kind and friendly. All types of groups were here - young couples, families with kids, locals with dogs, you name it. They have a parking lot that is shared with other restaurants in the same building or you can find street parking. This is on the second floor and they don't have an elevator, so just be aware if you have a stroller. Nice bar on the upper floor with a view of the ocean across the beach. We were seated promptly even though we went during the championship game (Bills vs. Chiefs). I had the Royal Canadian Mounted burger (cheese, fried egg, and bacon) with the Asian slaw ($2 up-charge). Was not cooked to temperature (med-rate). Was probably more like well done. It was very good and although not the temp I ordered, was moist and flavorful. The slaw is definitely worth the up-charge and I received a lot more than I expected. My friend ordered the Cuban sandwich. He enjoyed it but I thought it looked a bit on the small size for a $21 sandwich. Their happy hour is 4-7 p.m. daily and pretty good. $8 for call drinks and $2 off draft beers. Also a great place to watch sports games. TVs everywhere. read more

Three of us came here 530 pm for Tuesday's Tacos. Place was crowded early as steady rain for the entire day meant no sunset views, and everyone skipped that and went to dinner early. It also washed out any of the epic steady sunset views from the front windows. 20 minute wait for a table, and when we were seated there were still large numbers of empty tables going unfilled -staffing shortages. 10 minute wait for our 10 tacos to arrive. All the tacos look the same on the outside with a huge covering of raw cabbage covering the item on a flour tortilla, mixed in with a creamy white aioli sauce. Much prefer the firmer and less fattening yellow corn tortilla. Tacos listed from worst to best $6 Steak taco tasted fine, but the portion size was on the small side, with tiny cubes of meat spread out over taco shell. The $6 mahi mahi taco also tasted good, fresh fish, but again the portion size was small, with tiny half inch cubes of fried breaded white fish spread out to give the impression of a larger portion. Compare to the regular menu $18.50 mahi fish two tacos with chips and salsa. Good portion size for slices of seared $6 Ahi tuna served with avocado, corn and cabbage. $6 Calamari taco had perhaps the largest seafood/meat portion size with a one inch thick four inch long fried breaded piece of calamari. Fresh flavor with the calamari 5 quarter size cajun shrimp came with the $6 shrimp taco, not too salty and very tasty. The kalua pork was by unanimous agreement the best of the bunch, with a decent portion size of flavorful shredded pork, not too salty, and the only taco at $4, compared to the regular menu $17.50 two taco kalua pig with chips and salsa. Big elephant in the room is Coconuts Fish Cafe 100 yards down the block with their $17 renowned two fish taco meal. Not to be compared to that let alone Rubio's $4.95 fish taco ($2.75 on Tues) with a three oz fillet in CA. Got out of here at 6:30pm the only ones who came to the 4-7pm happy hour without getting the discounted drinks. read more

Perfect post-beach late lunch feast. We stared our meal with onion rings. They were excellent - real onions, but didn't slide out after one bite. Bingo is fun, the veggie tacos are kind of eh but I feel that's the nature of meatless food sometimes. When I think about it, it's kind of a locals bar. Zero improvements in a couple years. They have changed the shade on the windows to cloth. Works for me. But the mushroom grilled onion burgers were excellent. If you get onion rings it's almost a 25.00 burger. And the beach view is right there for you. Our server was a real nice guy and checked on us to make sure It was all going well. Football on six screens, luckily the same game. And really good speakers. So, don't plan to chat. This is usually one of our favorite places to eat, especially for Taco Tuesday but now it's hit or miss. There are times we go in and the food and drinks are amazing, but this last time, not so much. It's as if someone was hurrying to make the food and everything, including the drinks which were horrible and not even a $10 shot of tequila could fix the taste of the margarita that was served. It's always full and super loud with all the TV's on and everyone trying to talk over them. It's a sports bar. We were so disappointed, we paid for what we ordered, left, and went elsewhere. My husband and I discovered Moose McGillycuddy's the last night we were in Maui! we happen to get there for happy hour, so we were able to try a few different cocktails! I recommend the LaHaina Lemonade, Moose Mai Tai, Lava Flow, and Bahama Mama! (we also ordered the red lobster, but I was not a fan of it because it tasted like cherry cough syrup). We shared chips and salsa for the appetizer, pretty good but wasn't the biggest fan of their salsa, I think it came from a jar. For dinner my husband ordered the mahi-mahi fish and chips and I ordered the coconut shrimp and chips. Both plates were very good and came with Asian slaw (amazing) and fries.
