This "salad" had me heated lol
    Vanessa B.

I've been here one other time and it was okay but since a few people I know told me to give them another chance, I did.. I got the BLT which was okay and a caesar salad which I was upset about. I paid $10 for lettuce, Costco croutons, Parmesan and some dressing. Each time I pass by it's empty and I've been disappointed twice now so I'll probably won't return to be disappointed a third time... mind you their food isn't even that great for the amount they charge.

Hubbs was craving an ice cream and googled what was available in Kihei and found out Peggy Sue's stocks Roselani ice cream, his fave, so we had to give it a try. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Easy free parking right outside the door, a few outdoor tables and then you open the door to reveal a 50s diner in blue and pink with counter stools and booths, great vibe![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The ice cream selection was delicious and I ordered my usual mini Haupia with hot chocolate fudge, while hubby went for a sugar cone with orange/pineapple. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a little hot in the restaurant but we were eating cool ice cream so not a problem.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their menu has a 50s diner feel too with burgers n fries, milk shakes and chicken wings and the usual fare. Their burgers smelled nice while they were cooking on a grill right in the restaurant.

Peggy Sue's is a very nostalgic place to me. I remember coming here for the first time as a teenager. My go-to would always be their milkshake and a plain cheeseburger. Nowadays, I'm opting for their Great Balls of Fire burger that is juicy, full of flavor, and is a great balance of fresh ingredients with a grassfed burger. The service is always great at Peggy Sue's! Everyone is so welcoming and happy to be there. As for the ambiance, it resembles a true diner, coming down with the details of the colors to the pictures on the wall. Peggy sue's is a fun place to eat and they have great burgers

I don't know why this diner is rated low. It's nostalgic and what we ordered was flavorful. We ordered a garden salad with Blackened Mahi Mahi and a grilled cheese with sweet potato fries. Basic diner food so no surprises there but everything was spot on. Grilled cheese and fries came temperature appropriate, it was not greasy at all. Salad was crisp, and the fish tender and temperature perfect. We enjoyed our lunch, nothing fancy. Reasonable prices and friendly staff with good suggestions.

Friendly staff Lucas was great . The hamburger and fries were cooked perfectly and the blue soda so good ! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The 50s decor made the experience feel nostalgic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The shakes looked delicious but I was full have to try next time.

This place went downhill!! Used to be good, what the heck happened? Only two people working here! Food is super expensive, just wasn't good at all! I think they're new owners seems like they're struggling to keep it open... [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place looks very tired and worn out... torn seats, very run down... Desperately needs updating ....[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Super disappointed! I won't be returning... Ever! On a scale of 1 to 10... I give it a ONE and that's being generous!

My Tuesdays are usually reserved for shopping adventures & of course food. Except this was an unexpected treat getting to stumble across Peggy Sue's Maui a restaurant I surprisingly haven't tried yet. However the ladies in my Ross Tuesday crew mentioned they've dined here before & stuck to ordering their favorites. I on the other hand was intrigued at the opportunity to experience this classic 50's style diner. From the moment I walked in I was practically drooling over all the ice cream flavors visible from the entrance. Plus once we found a booth to sit at I was still trying to check out all the art decor throughout the restaurant. It definitely has an old school cute vibe. I was definitely happy our server was super nice, accommodating & brought everything out in a timely manner. I did find a few items that I'd be interested in trying but ended up settling for one of my absolute favorite things to order, a Caesar salad with added avocado. Which was delicious, I enjoyed the even amount of ingredients so each bite had a little bit of everything. If I wasn't so full I might have attempted to lick the bowl clean. Overall I really enjoyed the atmosphere & I've already told my boyfriend we need to do a date lunch here. So I'll definitely be back to try something new off the menu. Until next time. XOXO, ChelsieFletcher

Peggy Sue's is an all time favorite of mine on Maui! Food was flavorful, cooked perfectly how i liked it. Service was amazing, our server made sure we were okay and that our food was made to our liking. Once you step into the diner, you really feel like you're taken back to the 50's with the old big jukebox and the small individual jukeboxes at each table!

Really cute place... "Sunday, Monday Happy Days!" Peggy Sue's just brings back those nostalgic memories. Especially down to the foods. Yummy Milkshake with delicious burgers! You won't be disappointed for that Umami flavors! && The jukebox sooo Right on!

Ooooo Peggy Sue's has been around forever. So glad we went here. We walked in and was immediately greeted by a friendly gal. She asked if we knew what we wanted and I said no she gave us a menu. Looked over it for a few minutes and knew what we wanted a bacon cheeseburger with avacado. Yum. My favorite anything and everything with avacados makes it better. We talked to people we knew but we also did social distancing. Perfect for me. They have every other table taped off and no seating at the counter. Our order was cooked fast. Friendly service, fast service too. Come here if you want a good burger. If you order a drink to go it comes in one size. We choose to eat outside at our truck. This place does get busy. But they have fast service.

Coming here during COVID times like now is a bit depressing. I did a take out cheese burger and onion rings. Both were good, but at 16.00 hard to justify stopping in for a burger. Of the two, the onion rings did stand out. Plenty and all good bites. Nothing to drink. And I had a happy hour rate.. Inside, all COVID precautions. No counter seats , just the booths. They do play good music.

Special covid 19 review: due too special circumstances business as normal is not an option. I went to peggy Sues with 2 sets of twins, one set teenagers the other set young adults, me and my wife middle aged We sat under a tent outside in the parking lot, actually pretty cool, it was a beautiful day they were kind enough to push 2 tables together so we can sit as a family. We all truly enjoyed the setup. Food: I had the "Don't be cruel" Burger, a wonderful thick patty cooked the way you like it, I liked mine medium rare, while a burger is a burger it come down to the type of meat, their meat is fresh and local. Mine is basically a chilly burger the chilly is ok, didn't taste homemade it needed a bite to it some heat, something to let it know it's there. But the flavor was good short of great. The onion ring were perfect, made with real onions soft crisp crunchy shell wonderful all by itself. Young adult twins: My son oldest twin by a second or two had jalapeno burger known as " Great balls of fire" he loved it!! Smiled after every bite, My other twin had the "Be-bop- a- lula" a hamburger with a chipotle and avocado. Again a delicious delightful wonderfully spicy burger. My wife had " the good vibration" known as a mushroom burger. She said it was only good when I asked her why she stated it needed MORE mushrooms. Teen twins 16 years old: Boy & girl, both had the "Hawaii 5-0" Boy said it was easily the best burger he ever ate in his Long illustrious life. He meant it! I believe him. Teens tend to stay with what they know and this was a treat for sure. Girl would not shut up about how she enjoyed the burger she could not finish but at the same time could not stop eating because it was so delicious . OMG! Was apparently the initials of the day as she repeated it constantly We all had shakes I had the chocolate and banana with rear bananas in it mmmm happy place The strawberry shake had real strawberries sipped as Angel's sang in heavenly voice....or maybe that was in my head ...jock a mo, what does that mean ? I don't know, but I digress Kona coffee mud pie Is all the awesomeness of a great coffee with out the heat, they put the yum yum in yummy To bring it all together we had a $140.00 day . If I had to do it again ...I would fresh out of being stuck at home for a LOOOONG TIME, this was needed for our family and for their business. Make the effort to support. The president has done a good job putting money in our pockets, let's help out these small awesome businesses. It was worth every Penny I promise

This deli is located in a strip mall and is bigger inside than it looks from the outside. On one side they have the ordering area with a beverage cooler, a display case, and hats for sale with their logo. The other side has seating and can probably fit around 30 to 40 people. For lunch on this day I went with the chicken pesto panini while my father went with a hot dog with mustard and sauerkraut. The menu described my sandwich as chicken breast, sun dried tomato, toasted pine nuts, provolone, and pesto spread, and my father's simply as sauerkraut and mustard. It was busy when we were there, so it took about 10 minutes to order and another 15 minutes for the food to come out. Since we ordered separately, my food came out first and even though I planned to wait, I had enough time to eat it while waiting for my dad's. The chicken pesto panini ended up being quite good. The chicken was moist and flavorful and there was more than enough cheese. The sun dried tomatoes added a nice pop of flavor, although I wish there had been more. My favorite part was the pesto spread and pine nuts, especially the garlicky flavor from the pesto. My dad also thought his hot dog was good. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I enjoyed my sandwich and my dad enjoyed his hot dog, so I would be interested in trying more of the menu.

Apples were nice and chunky with sweet cinnamon sugar filling, good filling to crust ratio. Pulled up to Cafe Kaila about 10am and yeah... get one line. Nothing crazy though, about nine names…read moreahead of us. I was already doing the math and thinking , "Eh, we might be here awhile." But nah, good timing. People were finishing up, bussing tables, and bam, maybe 20-30 minutes tops. Not bad at all. While we was waiting, they come out with waffle samples for everyone in line. I mean... who does that? That's how you keep people from getting all hangry. Instant good vibes, the whole line outside was just smiling and waiting patiently. Finally get seated and both the hostess and waitress were super nice--real friendly, no rush, no attitude. In the front they had mushroom soup on the specials board, so we figured we go sample um. I had them bring a cup of soup out to start along with my wife's coffee. Gotta be honest--when I dipped my spoon in, I was already judging. Looked kinda thin, not creamy like other mushroom soups I've had. I was thinking, "Ahh here we go." Took one spoonful and immediately had to humble myself. That soup was money. Like, stop-talking-and-just-eat. My wife tried it and confirmed that this soup was "winnahs" . Deep mushroom flavor with the right amount of seasoning. It also came with a little piece of focaccia toast which I would have really enjoyed but had to take my wife's word for it since she ate um all . Should've ordered the bowl. Rookie mistake. For my main, I went with the original eggs Benedict. Portions were a little on the small side, but with the roasted potatoes, I was good. Didn't leave hungry, didn't need to loosen the belt--perfect middle ground. My wife got the strawberry waffles and yeah... those were legit. She's not a syrup person, so she asked for more whipped cream. The waitress comes back with a little mountain of whipped cream in the little silver ramekin. All in all, solid spot. Friendly people, ono food, and little touches that make you feel taken care of. We will be heading to Cafe Kaila again to try some other stuff like the "chicken and waffles", and next time, I'm not playing around with the soup. Bowl, Garans.

I stopped by here yesterday for lunch. Sun's Out Buns Out is located in a food truck pod, so I did…read morenot realize exactly where I was going until I saw all of the trucks. The truck itself is fun, painted with bright tropical colors and scenes, and they seem to be known for their loaded tots and bao buns. I placed my order on the touchscreen outside and then sat down to wait for my food. For lunch on this day I went with the buffalo chicken tots and the Island Piggy bao. The menu described the bao as kalua pork, BBQ sauce, tropical salsa, and pickled red onions. The buffalo chicken tots were described as buttermilk fried chicken, buffalo sauce, jack cheddar cheese, house made pickles, and ranch dressing. It took less than 10 minutes for my food to be ready and I sat down at one of the shaded picnic tables. When I opened everything up it all looked good, but I did notice that the tots were missing the house made pickles. I started with the bao and thought it was pretty good. The kalua pork was super juicy and the bao bun was light and fluffy while still holding together well. The pickled onions added a nice acidity and the tropical salsa brought good flavor. The only thing I did not notice much was the BBQ sauce. After that I dug into the tots. The tots themselves were cooked nicely with a crispy outside and soft inside. The chicken was good as well with a nice batter and the buffalo sauce added flavor while the cheese was gooey. The only thing worth noting is that the chicken was softer than expected and not very crispy. It worked since I did have the texture from the crispy tots, but it stood out. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I would probably not order both a bao and tots again as it was a lot of food, but I would definitely come back for one or the other.

One of the better food trucks in the Maui Food Truck court…read more Bao Bun Sandwiches is definitely my jam so I was happy to try this place out. We came here twice and I got the 3 bao slider combo each time. - The BAO*CHICKA*BAO*BAO was one of my favorite sandwiches. - My second favorite was the ISLAND PIGGY. I got this both times. - the LITTLE PIGGY was good, but a little overhyped in my opinion. But good to try. - the DUCK DUCK GOAT was wildly disappointing. As you can see in the picture, all meat and almost nothing else. Maybe a few silvers of cabbage. But where's the goat cheese and the fig jam?!? We also got the ALOHA TOTS. Huge portion so that was nice. But the kalua pork was pretty watery and made the crispy tots go soggy pretty fast. Overall a solid spot. Definitely worth trying at least once.
