    Double Deuce burger
    Alex K.

Facebook kept showing me videos about this place and it was just down the road from me in Kihei at the Kihei Food Cart Oasis, worthy of a visit just for itself. Lots of seating available and I appreciate that they have misters running for those hot days. We ordered the Double Deuce smash burger and frankly it was damn good! Like we couldn't stop talking about it. The video hype is real. 100% wagyu beef burgers, homemade sauce, pickles, soft bun and it was a pretty big burger at a reasonable price for the quality you get. I'm so glad I stopped by.

The smash burger and fries were phenomenal. I enjoy all the outdoor seating and music. Highly recommend you give them a try!

We found Burger Boys in this super cute little food truck village with tons of options, and the guys at the counter were really friendly. They gave us the lay of the land and let us know they were out of pineapple for the Tropic Thunder, so we swapped in jalapeños. The burger itself was massive, like the size of my hand. Two Wagyu patties with cheese, onions, and jalapeños. Flavor was big and hunger was handled, but it leaned salty and really saucy, so it got messy fast. I also missed having some fresh veggies to balance it out. Price was $26, which felt steep even for Wagyu, though Maui pricing is real. Would've loved a water station or something because that salt hits hard. Return visit is a maybe, but I don't regret trying it, and the staff were genuinely nice.

Was told this was the best burger on island! Well we have definitely gotta find out! So off we went! Slightly hard to find, but overall a very nice food truck area! Ordered the original double burger as is with the lemonade and the iced tea... The lemonade was not worth it. Too plain and tasted like water with a hint of lemon. The iced tea was just plain bad. Do not order it! I honestly thought it was me, but had my friend try it and we both agree it tasted like burger sauce...the worse iced tea I've ever had. Skip! The burger finally arrived and it looked good, but not like the pic my friend sent me. Well slice in half and let's try this. The meat was good, the bun soft and fluffy, and just the right amount of sauce. Is it good? Yes. Is it the best burger on island? I didn't think so. Worth the drive? Nope. But if you're in the area it's in a great place to check out!

Burger was super good, the patty and the bun was a 10/10. The sauce was good too, wish they had ranch though. And the area it's in is super chill.

Amazing local spot with great ambiance! The service was quick and all the employees were super friendly and helpful. With the burgers they had an amazing flavor and the fries have a great crunch. I'm sad I can't bring this place back home with me haha.

Really enjoyed this delicious, juicy burger. The burger was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I enjoyed every single bite! Lots of seating area with shade. The fries are my favorite fries I've ever had. The service was overall good. Food came out fast and was very fresh! Can't wait to go back for more!

Deuce Deuce Burger. Tastes like a high-end Big Mac with no lettuce tomato and onion. The burger meat is great though!

Staff are friendly. I got the Deuce Deuce burger. The meat tastes great. They don't really add much else to this one particular. No lettuce tomato or onion. Which is fine. There are picnic tables around to sit at while you wait or you can eat there as well.

These are Smash Burgers, waygu beef. Actually very good but they don't match the picture. And the classic fries are normal shoestring with out the skins. At 44. For 2 burgers and one French fries I expect great. No s&p or forks or knives. And Pepsi products only. Update: thank you Nicolas We Are just Leaving the area. At the window , the man said no to s&p and plastic knives n forks. No problem. Maybe move them to the.window so he can see them. Or he is new Thanks for your reply.

First of all, I love burgers and fries. Probably overall my number one option ever since I was a little kid. We were in the mood for burgers and decided to try Burger Boys because the reviews were pretty good and it popped up as #1 on Maui got burgers on Yelp. Huge disappointment!!! Way too greasy!!! I can still taste the grease with every burp and I ate 2 and half hours ago and I have been burping a lot even 2 hours after eating. We got four burgers (4 The Original Deuce Deuce burgers, three with bacon) and split four sides (sidewinder fries, shoestring fries, and onion rings). The bill was around $136, $160 with tip. Average of $40 per person. The grease was so bad, the bun of the burger of just slick with grease and it was bad enough that I had to squeeze the burger pretty hard to make sure it didn't fall apart or I didn't drop it. I got The Original Deuce Deuce and added bacon. I barely got half way through the burger before I couldn't take the grease any more. My group split the sidewinder fries, shoestring fries, and the onion rings. They weren't bad, but it was a huge mistake. They are all fried in the grease, so I feel pretty disgusting right now. The onion rings would be the best part of the meal, but nothing worth going back for. For $40 a person, I'm definitely never eating here again. I feel another disgusting burp coming:(

This food truck is located inside the South Maui Gardens. I've heard this is a good burger place so I decided to try it out. I chose *The 156° Western 1/4lb wagyu Smashburger, three slices duroc applewood smoked bacon, aged white cheddar, house pickle, heirloom pickled Fresno chili peppers, house sauce, House barbecue sauce on a locally baked shokupan bun. *Sidewinder Fries - Thick spiral cut, skin on beer battered fries with house seasoning I ordered it "to go" so when I opened the box at my cousins house it sure didn't look like those other pictures I saw! lol The fries were good and unfortunately I wasn't as impressed with the burger. On top of that it was also on the pricey side.

Decent burger, fair price. Kind of slow on the service. Burger was too rich tasting -- you don't need Wagyu on a smash burger.

The bun stayed intact, the guts didn't fall out or apart, making each bite perfectly composed balance of bun, beef, condiments, toppings. - this burger was perfectly moisturized, with the magic combination of type and quantity of condiments. 9 out of 10 times I have to add dressings to my burger, but this one required zero alterations on my part. The fish tacos were massive. The fish had good flavor, although it leaned a little on the dry side for me. The coconut shrimp, however, were my favorite thing we tried. Crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. We happened to arrive between their two happy hour windows, and while looking at the menu, we noticed that coconut shrimp were also available during the second happy hour along with other small plates. What I found odd was their happy hour policy. Apparently, you can only order from the happy hour menu if you've already purchased an entree and can show your receipt. I've never encountered that anywhere else, and it seemed like a strange business concept. Also, it is not posted anywhere that I saw. When my husband went back to order from the happy hour menu, the cashier asked if we had previously ordered food. He said yes, but our receipt was back at the table. For some reason, she had to go to the back to get approval before allowing him to order. It felt a bit awkward, especially since she was the same cashier who had taken our original order when we first arrived and we asked a bunch of questions, so I would def remember someone like me. lol That policy aside, the coconut shrimp were fantastic. I'd definitely come back for those alone.

However, the owner took the time to respond and explain that the entire shopping center wing was experiencing cooling issues and that the restaurant was dealing with significant staffing shortages at the time. While that doesn't completely change the experience we had, I appreciate that the owner acknowledged the challenges and responded professionally rather than dismissing the feedback. One observation I would offer is that, as a customer, it was difficult to tell who was serving tables. I noticed several employees in Pint & Cork shirts moving around the restaurant, but only saw a couple of servers actively covering the dining area. It's possible some staff were assigned to bartending or other responsibilities, but from the guest perspective it gave the impression that table service was understaffed while other employees appeared unavailable. I still think there is room for improvement in the flow and logistics on the floor, but I appreciate the owner's willingness to engage with feedback and explain the circumstances. That being said, I would be willing to give the restaurant another chance. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATED REVIEW AFTER OWNER'S RESPONSE: 6.21.26 I appreciate the response. It's telling that you addressed the air conditioning, disputed the gender of an employee, and questioned whether I was even there, yet didn't meaningfully respond to the concerns about service, timing, attentiveness, or food quality. If a customer leaves with a poor experience, the question isn't whether they perfectly recalled every detail. The question is why they left with that impression in the first place. I suspect future readers can draw their own conclusions from both the review and the response. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Probably the most disappointing dining experience of our Hawaii trip. We specifically asked to sit indoors because we wanted a break from the Maui heat after spending the day outside. Unfortunately, we quickly realized there was no air conditioning, making the indoor seating barely any cooler than outside. The restaurant also felt severely understaffed. It took around 10 minutes just to get a Diet Coke, and every time I asked for assistance, the woman working at the register seemed to defer the request rather than help or find someone who could. Meanwhile, some employees appeared more interested in chatting than helping customers, while only one or two staff members seemed to be working the floor. I understand restaurants get busy, especially in a tourist area, but the issue wasn't just the wait--it was the feeling that customer service wasn't a priority. As for the food, it was nothing special. I ordered a steak that had a nice smoky flavor, but it arrived well done and overcooked. The rest of the meal was average at best and definitely not memorable enough to make up for the service issues. Between the lack of air conditioning, slow service, inattentive staff, and mediocre food, this was one of the few places in Hawaii where I genuinely regretted spending my money. Considering the location at The Shops at Wailea and the prices being charged, I expected a much higher level of hospitality and execution. There are far too many great dining options in Wailea to come back here.
