Kula, HI. In the mood for a burger but not a fast food variety. This location is in a food truck complex with quite a busy vibe. If you can't find a picnic table you may have to eat in your car. I ordered the Kula Burger. It was quite good. Is it a premium $15 burger? No it is not, but it wants to be. I would suggest a bit more size and you got it. The patty was cooked medium plus, still exhibiting juice. It was well over a half inch thick which is a rarity these days. If it could just make it to 3/4 inch (Cooked) it would be awesome.The jack cheese was very mild, adding little to the flavor. The sauce was a good compliment to the flavor of the meat that had that lean taste to it. The bun was pretty fluffy, kind of dominating. It was toasted on the inside faces but still needs a bit more heat. It held up well though to the end, not at all turning mushy. Over all, not bad, above average for sure. read more

One of the BEST burger and fries I've ever had! This is a great place to stop after visiting Haleakala crater. It's a food truck right outside the store. You place order inside the store and they cooked the burgers in the truck. Customer service was great and the store and outside area had plenty of seating. Added bonus, the cat Bella was a cutie and kept us company while we ate. read more

Killer burgers - Kapalua, Kula are our family faves. Also, I know it's a burger place but their hot dog is also amazing, loaded with all the fixings. The staff is friendly, they are quick to serve you when not too busy. Also, my kids get multiple orders of sweet potato fries every single time, so those are highly recommended when grabbing a burger or hot dog. It's a food truck and the seating area has minimal shade so it can be hot at lunch time, recommend getting your take-out and heading to Kulamalu park or Kula park for a nice view while you enjoy these juicy, loaded burgers. read more

When I made my food plans for visiting Hawaii, a burger was not part of any of my must eats one I hit the island. When I saw this place, scanned the menu, I was like I gotta get a burger. I'm a big burger fanatic. I just had to do it. I ordered the Kula, 6 ounces of good premium beef. You can taste it in the beef alone. The shaved red onions. Avocado, cmon this burger was fire. If you haven't met me before, let me tell you - I am a sucker for a GOOD BURGER. I have a list of standards in my head when it comes to the perfect burger. 1 - Bun - Does it hold up? Does it taste freshly baked? Does it overshadow the actual meat of the burger in size? 2) Patty - what's the beef ration? Is it cooked medium? Is it steamed, grilled, prepared on a flat griddle? Does it hold up or break in half after the first bite? 3) Veggies - are they still wet? Are they cut in a good ratio to the rest of the burger? Are they fresh? 4) Sauces - is it sloppy good or sloppy bad? Is it unique? Purist or Purely Bougee? 5) What are their sides? So when we say Stewz had a truck - we had to try it. Waited a long time to try Stewz Burgers, as the Kihei location is only open a couple days a week (think I know why now). But I was in Pukalani today and saw their food truck next to Longs Drugs. I tried the "Kula" burger per the description on the menu it said: "Maui grass fed beef + toasted Hawaiian sweet bun + monterey jack cheese + avocado + roasted garlic + roasted green poblano chillies + shaved red onion + house chipotle lime aioli." What I received was a large burger patty--NOT fully cooked (nearly raw and mushy in the center); a soft UN-toasted brioche bun--NOT toasted Hawaiian sweet bun; some kind of white cheese (couldn't really taste it as it was drenched in burger grease); NO avocado slices as expected--only a small quantity of what tasted like store-bought avocadoish spread; NO roasted garlic of any kind; NO roasted green poblano chillies of any kind; a few red onion slices; and NO chipotle lime aioli--just some store-bought mayo type dressing. The person who took my order never asked how I would like the burger cooked (medium-well, medium, medium-rare), therefore I was expecting [medium] as is standard in the restaurant industry, unless the customer asks for a different temperature. Nope, what I got for over $14 was two soft buns, a grease drenched UNDER-cooked burger, with hardly any toppings, that fell apart in my hands after a few bites, and that was NOT AS ADVERTISED per the menu ingredients. This has become stereotypical of Maui's casual restaurant fare. Charge a lot for poorly prepared, crappy tasteless, unseasoned food--and who cares if the ingredients match the menu. I seriously doubt it was even real "Maui grass-fed beef," as I've had that beef before and it's generally a leaner type--not dripping with fat and grease. One and done for me!... Never going back :( If you want a well prepared, seasoned, cooked to temperature, tasty gourmet style burger, try Manoli's Pizza Co. in Wailea. Manoli's "Jaxson's Burger" is excellent! You'll pay a bit more, but you definitely get what you pay for at Manoli's and their customer service is great! read more

Stewz grilled up a great burger for me tonight. 6oz of Hawaii (Maui?) beef was the just right amount. Bun roasted perfectly. Delicious Swiss cheese draped & melty-licious over the patty.
