I went here right after getting off the airport to get some quick comfort food before checking in to my stay in Kīhei and Tagpuan happened to be on the way. I ordered the chicken Inasal and pork lumpia and from those two simple dishes I could tell that this place was legit. IMO that inasal's definitely better than Mang Inasal back in PI and much better than the Inasal I've had in the Bay Area so hopefully that hypes it up enough. Kept coming back almost every single day till I left to go back to the mainland. In that time I also had the grilled liempo (pork belly), crispy pork belly, and longanisa sliders - all excellent dishes. Really love the sauce selections they use for their dishes too - pretty good balance of acid to cut the fat making the dishes feel not too heavy. The food truck is currently nestled in what seems to be an auto shop lot. There's a nice clean bathroom access via the auto shop near the food truck itself. Lots of parking, a few benches to eat at, and of course, really good food. The couple that run Tagpuan are incredibly kind and hard working people. Would highly recommend - not only to support a local business owner (who's from Lāhainā) but because they serve genuinely good and authentic Filipino food.

And holy moly they were all phenomenal. There were four adults and we were all completely satisfied with the amount of food from those items. We ate them faster than we usually do and there were a couple of fork fights because they were so stinking delicious. Thank you Al and the whole family!

I thought I was 12 years old again growing up in my hometown Hana. The plate had one akule, 3 scoops white rice, diced tomatoes and onions, and a sauce mix of shoyu, calamansi, and vinegar. I'm old school native Hawaiian weigh about 270 lbs. I'm not a professional reviewer or taster, BUT I am a professional eater. So I lovingly told my wife, "Honey...next time you see this special again, buy 2 plates." I don't know who Bruddah Al is, but he know what he doing. If it could just make it to 3/4 inch (Cooked) it would be awesome.The jack cheese was very mild, adding little to the flavor. The sauce was a good compliment to the flavor of the meat that had that lean taste to it. The bun was pretty fluffy, kind of dominating. Its cool how food from Guam and Philippines are similar. I went for breakfast and I would definitely want to go back and try their lunch menu. The location is in an awkward spot to find if it is your first time here. The parking here is also a little confusing because they are located on a parking lot that shares with other businesses. I was a little hesitant because I didn't look up reviews and being so far from the Caribbean was a hint a caution. But let me tell you what, this truck delivered. Abiki was such a kind, generous woman. Her aura was matched by the food. I opted for the special of chicken curry. The chicken included two very large drums, a thigh and several small potatoes. I chose the rice and beans as the side component. The spice was perfectly balanced. Just enough to be present, but not overpowering for a standard guest. I'm obsessed with spice, so it was fortunate that the plate came with a small cup of a fantastic sauce. It seemed to be more habanero driven, but I cannot be too sure of that. The chicken was absolute perfection. The potatoes fell apart as I chewed them and I think I'm going to dream about them for many years. My husband spontaneously ordered the chimichurri burger one day and while I didn't know what to expect at first, man that burger was mighty delicious! The beef patty is topped with chimichurri sauce and paired with lettuce, tomato, grilled onion, cheddar cheese, chimichurri aoili on a brioche bun. It's burger heaven! Flavorful and moist, it was devoured in no time. It also comes with sweet potato fries and a side of sauce. I don't know if the sauce is for the fries or the burger, but it pairs extremely well with both. Just give your burger a little dip -- SO good. All in all, this burger ranks pretty highly in my list of tasty burgers. We'll definitely be back again to try their other Carribean dishes!

Its lively, well lit and lot of options to choose from including tropical fruits. There is non- stop music going on which adds to the charm of the place. This is probably only on Sundays after business close so the parking lot is free. One thing I learnt is Maui has plenty food truck kinda areas especially on Sundays, but there are dedicated food truck places running all week too. If you want to taste real Maui food, food trucks are best bet as they use local recipes and local ingredients with a personalized touch. The Maui Food Market has lot of shopping options too like a Korean bag shop, jewelry, art and so on. I was specifically looking for Maui magnets for my fridge, did not find those, but enjoyed the fruit cup. It was refreshing.
