Absolutely did not need to do that but if they were trying to get rid of an extra order of food - by all means THE FOOD WAS WORTH IT. OMG. The burger was so juicy and savory. Wow, what a feast at Haven's food truck for lunch today, the Tuna Sando on the specials board - fresh local caught Ahi, mayo, pickles, red onion, jalapenos, tomato and cheddar cheese all stuffed haphazardly into a toasted bun. Finger licking, mouth watering, messy but oh so yummy ;) They gave me extra napkins because they knew how messy it was going to get, and boy did I need them...lol. Delicious from first bite to last. The guys were friendly and fun to talk to and the menu was rocking. I was tempted by the Hurricane Shrimp initially but the Tuna Sando had the words Jalapeno and Pickle and that forced my decision, and I'm very happy I changed my mind. Maybe the best poke I've ever had. So fresh! We were coming from the airport and had to wait a long time for our bags. I was starving and needed to eat something before heading to our hotel. Luckily I had looked up this food truck park in advance and it was like 10 minutes from the airport. I was thinking of getting a plate lunch but those would have taken longer and my family was waiting for me. So I went to Havens and ordered the LOCAL POKE bowl. They have a few other styles, but this is the one, people. So ono!! It was $23, and I would have liked a second scoop of rice because it wasn't huge. But it was seriously the freshest pokey with the most delicious marinade. Sea asparagus too. I can't complain about the size when it really was poke perfection for my palate. I'm posting pictures of my experience. I went in where it says entrance. A despicable punk came over and said, "Next time come to the entrance on the other end," and spun around and walked off. I went BACK out the way I came in and left. It's real sad that these brats have no manners and are representing establishments as stuck up and snobby, besides the fact that I am 71. We kicked off our stay in Maui by making Haven's our first stop from the airport. It was super easy to order online and we made sure to do that when we first landed since it takes about 20 minutes to prepare the order. Located across from Costco gas, there is plenty of parking in the lots. When we arrived at Haven's, our order was ready and we easily found a table to sit down to eat. My son had the original smash burger and my daughter and I had the spicy ahi poke bowls. I had a bite of the smash burger and it was saucy and delicious. Messy, but worth it. The poke bowls were really good too with the perfect amount of kick. I'd definitely return to try the paniolo burger. The applewood bacon, onion rings, and BBQ sauce that go with it sounds right up my alley. In any case, do not miss the crinkle fries!! They have a couple of items for kids too like cheeseburger and chicken strips. read more

We ordered two different poke(Spicy Ahi and Hamachi Ponzu) and the Hurricane Shrimps which were tempura shrimps with sauces on top. I had planned on going to Havens in Kihei before leaving Maui the year before but ended up not having enough time. So, their food truck at Kahului was my first stop this most recent time around. Not quite the Smash Burgers that I am used to in the Bay Area with the lacy edges but since it is a single vs. double patty with the bougee burger, it is understandable. That Bougee Burger is made with wagyu beef, mushrooms, gruyere, black truffle, and garlic mayo but was lacking any truffle flavor whatsoever and was a bit too oily for my taste. I hate to have to write this review, but as a long time customer of Havens, our meal today was sub par at best. I've always thought they've had one of the better burgers on Maui too! I've been telling my Mom how good they are for awhile now & today we finally picked up lunch to go for her to try. We ordered 3 burgers & 3 fries. Meat was very overcooked, dry & too salty on all 3. Buns were squished down to almost totally flat. Almost no pickles at all. Not even close to the quality we are used to! I mean there was no juice in these patties AT ALL, which is unusual. Luckily 2/3 fries were good with the exception of the kolohe fries being completely drowned in the cheese sauce enough to make them soggy instantly. For the price point, this quality is unacceptable. In fact, the last few times we've spent our money choosing Havens out of all the other burgers choices popping up on Maui, it's been going downhill. I don't know if Havens Harborside is taking up too much attention, but this is not the burger we have been used to for the last few years recently. Sorry to say my Mom wondered why we have been raving about these burgers when she thought they were less than average & won't be going back after paying $70 for 3 burgers/fries. We were there two nights before heading back home. We saw it as we were leaving the harbor after snorkeling. It caught my husband's eyes and I am so glad that we went back to have dinner. Great service, great food and great location. We will be back in Maui before the year ends and we plan on going back hopefully for lunch this time because the poké that I had as an appetizer was the best poké I have ever had! (They only offer the poké bowl during lunch). The oyster shooters were so good and I don't even like oysters! For the entrees I had the broccolini and risotto. My husband had the ribeye and jalapeño mashed potatoes (pomme puree) and my kiddo had the chicken strips and fries. When I say everything was just delicious I mean it! I am posting a review today about Havens, a food truck located across the street from Costco in Kahului Maui. Whenever people go online, it seems like more and more reviews are on the negative side, but I have a raving review for Havens. Firstly, they have the best smash burger that I've ever had, and I've been eating there for the last three or four years, with 100% satisfaction- without any disappointing experiences. Not only is the establishment popular because of the food, but the service, the caring kindness exhibited by every employee that I've encountered at Havens, makes this food truck, second to none! If this is of importance to you- I highly recommend Havens. Especially if you're hungry for a really good burger, or a real delicious simple spicy tuna roll or a tempura roll or a California roll wrapped - to check this place out, because once you go, you'll be back, for sure. Read about the reviews for Havens a couple months back and that the Paniolo smash burger and saimin were must trys. We visited the Havens food truck in Kahului and discovered that only Kihei serves noodles. Still had a good variety of burgers, temaki rolls and sides to choose from. We each ordered our own paniolo burger, and for sides to share- crazy tots and hurricane tempura. Also bought a spicy ahi roll too. The smash burger had a nice charbroiled taste, crunchiness of the onion rings, to the pickles and aioli sauce really gave the burger a lot of dimension. It was a decent size and very flavorful. My favorite side was the hurricane shrimp tempura (5 pieces). Crazy tots had a mayo sauce, kimchee and furikake. Ordered one spicy ahi roll too. It was a lot of food and we ended up finishing the tots and roll later in the day. Will stick with burgers and one side next time since we know they give alot.
