There might be a line but it was so cool to go somewhere like this while in Maui! I got the banana cream and the Olowalu lime pies; wasn't expecting it, but the lime was definitely my favorite. Didn't get the opportunity to sit inside, but would love to, esp since they have other food items (think savory) available. From what I saw, it looks bustling but cozy. Picked up a thermal bag that I can use as a lunch bag here at home. If I ever make it back to Maui, I definitely wanna make a stop here again. read more

We were just walking around checking out the farmer's market when I realized this was on our list to try for our trip so even though we were really full, we had to get a pie to try out and I'm so glad we did. We got the banana cream pie but ai wish we could've tried all the flavors and their food menu as well because of how poppin this place was, line out the door. It kind of just feels like a standard pie but a little more refined and not heavy. The whipped cream was a perfect sweetness balanced with the banana cream, and their crust was crispy and buttery. We kept passing by Leoda's and the online hype is real - lines out the door nearly all morning each day! Finally, on our way back to Lahaina and with about 30 minutes before Leoda's closing we found an empty parking lot and no line! Unfortunately, you know that means...probably no pie left! And, I was pretty much right LOL! There were literally only 5 mini pies left for purchase and they were all one flavor - Chocolate Macadamia Nut. Thankfully for us that was one of the flavors we wanted to try! Got one packed up to go with an extra fork for sharing. $13 for a mini pie, kinda OUCH yah?! But thankfully the pie was big enough for 2 to share! Was pretty good too, light crust, flaky, chocolate filling was not too sweet, nice serving of crushed macadamia nuts for texture, and fresh whipped cream. Can't mess that up! Apparently this is the place to get a good pie in Maui, so I'm glad we came for a visit. I think we ended up making a bad choice with the Chocolate haupa aka Chocolate coconut pie. The chocolate was very rich so no doubt about that but I think personally I did not enjoy the flavor. We got this one because we heard that coconut is a thing to try in general. But overall I would highly recommend going with your gut feeling and if we had to do it again we would have gotten the key lime pie! Two words: pot pie. We stopped at Leoda's on the way back to our hotel from whale watching last month. We got there shortly after they opened so open tables (yay), short line (double yay) and they had pot pies, new since our last visit (quadruple yay). I got beef; my husband got chicken. They had a puff pastry lid (so flaky and good). He gave me an obligatory taste of his, much too small to make any sort of judgment. He liked it, though, so no complaints. The beef was amazingly tender and everything inside was seasoned well. It came with a side of horseradish cream sauce which made the pot pie even more delicious. Got there right when it opened, and there was a line already waiting. They are super organized and the line goes fast, do don't let that deter you. I asked the cashier her preference between the lime and coconut cream. She said the lime, so I went with that. My friend got the banana cream, so I got to try that as well. Both were really good. I am not usually a big pie person, but they had a nice balance of sweetness. So many pies just taste like straight sugar, but Leoda's lets the fruits shine. Neither of us could finish them, as we were totally full. Definitely shareable. They have seating inside and out, but also a nice big parking area if it was overly busy, and you needed to do a car picnic. I stopped by Leoda's Pie Shop while driving the west side of Maui and I can see why it's so popular. It's a great little roadside spot to grab a bite and of course some pie. We grabbed a couple of their mini pies so we could try a few different flavors and they were all really good. The crust was super flaky and buttery and the fillings weren't overly sweet. The Olowalu lime pie was probably my favorite. The place has a really nice casual plantation-style vibe and is a perfect stop if you're heading to or from Lahaina. We had a great lunch here. Tried the Ahi Sandwich, Turkey club, kids burger and fries and then the lime and apple pies. The pies were delicious. The sandwiches were good, but I wasn't blown away. The ahi sandwich could have used some more flavor. Maybe a sesame sauce or a chili crisp, and the turkey club also needed something. Maybe a little cranberry sauce or something to give it some more flavor. The fries were really good, and even though there was a line out the door, it didn't take too long to be able to order. We randomly stopped here on the way to Lahaina and I'm so glad we did! There was a line to order and a wait for the food but it moved nice and quickly. You can order your food for dine in or take out as there is indoor and outdoor seats which are first come first serve. We ordered the seared ahi sandwich and the banana cream pie. Dang this place was good! Ngl, we had a hard time finding good eats in Maui compared to Oahu, so when we found this place we kept our expectations low. The line moved fairly quickly and there's only like 8 or so tables inside. But we were lucky and found a place to eat inside with all the rain. We had the Ruben, chicken pot pie, choc-Mac pie and the banana cream pie. Kids had the hot dog and Mac n cheese. Our kids weren't a fan of the mustard on the hot dog but we liked it! And the Mac and cheese was very creamy and good. Th Ruben was excellent and rivaled great sandwiches we had on the mainland - the meat was juicy and flavorful and the sandwich was like bigger than my face so my husband and I split it. The pot pie was great too - loaded with veggies and both our kids liked it better than the Mac n cheese and hot dog, lol! And omg the sweet pies were incredible! Like I don't even wanna spoil it for you, you just need to have them. But fwiw, the kids really liked the banana cream pie and us adults loved the nutty, deep chocolate flavor of the choc-Mac nut pie. Ordered a Coconut Cream pie along with a Banana Cream pie. Took one bite! Absolutley delicous! No dissapointment. This place gets really busy! If you are patient, you are looking at 20 to 30 minutes at peak time to order or get seated. Plenty of parking but can vary pending on time of arrival. FANTASTIC spot. My family and I hopped of a lane and went straight to Leoda's. We ordered a few burgers, large basket of fries and some beer. We stopped by, famished after a day trip on the Road to Hana! Expecting to see that majority of the stuff would be sold out, it was a nice surprise to see that there were some pies still available at around ~4pm on the Monday prior to Christmas! You would think that these places sell out quickly, especially due to the Holiday rush, but thankfully there was some left to order. We ordered our food at the front register and it took about 15 minutes for it to be ready. We took a quick pitstop to the restrooms, which were pretty clean! We got the chicken pot pies, and patty melts. By the time we got there, only the apple crumble, banana cream, and chocolate macadamia nut pies were available. We got an apple crumble pie. The chicken pot pies were great for a personal serving, and had delicious tender chicken, kale, peas, and carrots inside. It was pretty tasty! The patty melt was also pretty yummy, with a ton of cheese, and a pretty thick patty in between two slices of rye. It was quite heavy and filling. The apple crumble pie was pretty FIRE! I wished I had it heated up and ala mode (would've made it even better). The crumble was made from what I think were oats, cinnamon, and sugar; which gave it a great crunch and spoonful of sweetness over the tart apple filling. read more

What is the hype?? Their pies look good but that's it. I tried the chocolate mac nut pie and the crust was so hard, I couldn't even get a piece with a pie bite. Was I suppose to let it sit out for a bit? but then the rest of the pie would have been room temp?? yuck! We visited Leoda's on a Tuesday and got there a few minutes before opening, expecting there would be a long line but there wasn't. A small line formed after us and we were the second ones inside. We got the Seared Ahi and Reuben sandwiches, and a chocolate mac nut and apple crumble pie. Seared Ahi: I liked that the ahi wasnt overcooked, but it could have been seasoned more. It was just an okay sandwich. I expected a little more flavor from the basil pesto garlic aioli but it tasted like a plain aioli to me. Reuben: On the salty side compared to the seared ahi. Not much beef but overall I liked this one better. I'm not a fan of sauerkraut but I really liked it in this sandwich to balanced out the corned beef. Chocolate Mac Nut Pie: This was our favorite pie! It looks like it'll be a super fudgey, decadent pie but it's actually not too sweet. Just wish there was a little more mac nut flavor to it. Apple Crumble: There's another review that says this tasted like straight brown sugar and that's pretty accurate. This one was TOO sweet in my opinion. Also would've liked the pieces of apple to be a little smaller. Don't let the personal sized pies fool you! They're huge! As people who aren't really into sweets, one definitely would have been more than enough for the two of us to share. But we came all the way to Maui so yolo. read more

We've been to Maui several times and I can't believe this was our first time visiting Leoda's - we'll definitely be back! We arrived right when they opened and the line was quick. My daughter had a dairy allergy so I emailed them the day prior asking about their dairy-free options. The general manager replied right away, which was much appreciated! Ended up getting the avocado and cucumber sandwich, no pesto and add turkey, sub rye bread. Delicious!! One of the best sandwiches I've ever had - the soft, thick sliced bread made it outstanding! So after arriving in Maui driving to my resort I drive on the main highway where these beautiful trees overhang intertwining and then suddenly you see small market and some food trucks and people just suddenly turning in and got me wondering about it I looked on the map and bam I saw pie shop and I'm like ok pie ... food trucks and store?
