What a great find in the middle of Kihei. We went there for lunch and got a pizza, a salad and garlic bread. Everything was really hot, fresh, and amazing! The salad was so tasty with the arugula, lemon, and pickled onions. The pizza was also really good, the pesto was homemade and delicious and the garlic bread was hot and crusty. We also took a walk through the gardens and visited the tortoise. We saw a bunch of food trucks but were so happy we ate here instead! I'm sure they're all good but I'm glad we made a good choice! This is the first time we've been in this area with lots of restaurants and food trucks. We were in the area because one of our favorite restaurants had moved to this location. After eating there we walked the area and found this bakery. We decided that we needed a sourdough baguette to take back to the condo for our evening dinner. It was yummy! I wanted some good bakery bread. Hey, sometimes you get picky with carbs. My son & I had been disappointed by another restaurant & I found this on Yelp. What a find! The campagne I got has supplied me with a nice toasted breakfast for a couple days. My son ordered a cheese pizza and I had something from their all day breakfast menu - toast with burrata and pesto. When you start anything with fabulous bread, your cooking is so elevated. I love the campagne and baguette. Seems like 80% of the time (various times of the day) I go, they can't be sliced "because they just came out of the oven". I should explore to see if i can get one set aside for this purpose. We have tried the breakfasts and were pleasantly surprised they were so delicious and fresh and herbacious and creative. We don't really buy many things here and order drinks when we're in the area. We had the mousse dessert, the kombucha, lilikoi root beer, and macnut nitro cold brew. The mousse dessert had a toffee layer that worked well but had coffee beans it that didn't really work for well for me. I get it as a texture thing. The kombucha and root beer tasted flat unfortunately so who knows how long it has been in the fridge. These are better fresh to me. The macnut cold brew was good though. read more

We tried their sourdough bread a few months ago and it is fantastic! Hot out of the oven in the morning. Then, today, we decided to try one of their pizzas. Sausage and mushrooms to be exact, and once again we have a winner. The sourdough crust is so good; it makes the pizza so much better. The ingredients are high quality too. I went to this location at about 8:30 am on a Friday. There was little to no wait for me to place my order and get my drink. I got the skillet that comes with sausage, egg, and sweet potato to eat. And I got the made in Maui hibiscus lychee kombucha to drink. The seating is in the garden, so it is quite an immersive experience to be eating in a tropical garden that is. The skillet was served in a cast iron skillet. I personally think the plating is a little small for the portion as some ingredients started to fall out as I ate it. The eggs are cooked sunny side up and crispy on the edges. It was a runny yolk that wasn't jammy at all. Oh, and the sweet potatoes were purple!! The skillet also comes with some other ingredients not listed on the menu but are all fantastic additions: pickled red onion, sunflower microgreens, and I think some mushrooms, too? The last thing I would think help improve this dish is to remove the shells from the sunflower microgreens. When I was done, I found myself throughly satisfied. I was unsure of where to bring my dish when I was done. I just brought my dish back to the ordering counter to where the associate took it for me but then I asked if they had a bus tub, to which she informed me they have a bus cart at the end of the counter/storage. The crust here deserves all the accolades. I'm from Chicago; I don't praise pizza crust lightly. Five-star chew and flavor. The toppings were a little on the thin side. I take it that the light sauce and light cheese are a philosophical choice. But I was really looking for more pineapple on the Hawaiian pizza, and especially a better serving of onion since I paid extra to add it. Shortbread lilikoi tart: good but not great. Crust to filling ratio is high, and I like more assertive tartness in the filling. I loved sitting outside in the fun garden food court. Blue Door is my new favorite pizza place. We've ordered pizza twice in the past couple weeks. Our go to is the sausage and mushroom pizza. Love the thin crust and sausage. The sausage is so flavorful.   We've also stopped by for breakfast.  Got the sausage, egg, sweet potato breakfast skillet and the breakfast sandwich with prosciutto, egg and mozzarella. Both were delicious and we had leftovers.  They serve fresh squeezed juices which goes well with champagne; however,  no alcohol is served on the premises. Unsure about BYOB. You can pickup breakfast to go and enjoy their fresh squeezed juice at home.   We recently discovered South Maui Garden food cart pod a few months ago. Outdoor seating and food options for everyone.  Highly recommend Blue Door Bread and Pizza Company for their delicious food, desserts and fresh bread.  Must try when you're in South Maui. read more

I love the ambiance here. The desserts are also top notch. On this visit we ordered pizzas. There was a lot to love but a few cons too. For one thing, both pizzas were overwhelmingly similar due to tons of arugula despite very different descriptions. The arugula was great but it was the overwhelming flavor profile of both the shrimp and the venison pizza. I'm also bummed that they didn't take time to devein the shrimp, but they did take time to cut them in half to make it look more plentiful. The end result was that there was very little shrimp flavor and what was there was muddy. That said, the crust was perfect, service was great and I would give this spot another try in the future although I'd order differently. read more

We had a hard time picking so bought each kind, really liked the dragonfruit, lilikoi, and strawberry pastries. Well, this place had a lot of hype. I ordered the sausage and mushroom pizza, the pizza bread was ok, sauce had zero flavor, not even sure why it was on there, mushrooms were eh, and the sausage.... tasted like freezer burnt sausage crumbles that were in the back of a Walmart freezer for a few years, not good at all. Staff was rude, like we were a inconvenience to them. Then, if you really want to see the attitude, ask for parmesan cheese for some flavor, is that an insult? I really wanted to like this place. It's been a few months since I visited this place with a couple of friends and I still hate to think about our experience here. As someone who works in hospitality, I'm well versed in how paying patrons should be served. The staff or should I say, the one guy manning the front of the house was very rude. We had ordered the Maui gold pizza without the ham because two out of the three of us could not have it. Our pizza comes out and as soon as the employee places it down at our table, there's ham on it. Mind you, we repeatedly said no ham during our transaction. The employee then proceeds to deny that we had said no ham and is visibly upset that we wouldn't just settle for the pizza that was made. For religious reasons, one person can't have pork and another is vegetarian. We can't eat the pizza, we can't pick around it and we shouldn't have to considering the price. The employee was feeling inconvenienced for having to go back and tell the kitchen to remake it. We eventually got our pizza made correctly but at that point, the mood was sour. It was more annoying after we had the pizza because it really wasn't that great. The pineapple was delicious but the crust was meh. I ended up tossing the crust. This situation really ruined the beautiful vibes of the location. It's so unfortunate, honestly save yourselves the headache if you plan to make any kind of modifications to your order. read more

Organic and healthy Found this little gem nearby from where we were staying in Kihei. Arrived here about 20-mins before they closed. I wanted to see what type of bread to bring home as I've read that they are a 100% organic bakery selling nutritious artisan bread. But then I saw the Tiramisu in a glass jar and the Dragonfruit Tart and I'm sold! The desserts looked delicious and appealing. The staff was nice... got to chat a little bit with him about the sudden flash flood that happened that afternoon... he was friendly and engaging. I tasted the Tiramisu first but was a little too sweet for me, the hubby liked it, though. I really enjoyed the Dragonfruit Tart. My heart was suddenly full of sweetness and warmth and deliciousness LoL! Not to mention the dragonfruit helps eliminate toxins and has the effect of weight loss and lower cholesterol. When I tried to order the Tomato and Sprouts Eggs Benedict ($17), I was told they were out of tomatoes and greens. So I was told this would end up basically eggs with pesto.... For $17. I asked if there was any other veggie they could substitute with. Was told no. Waited. Finally I asked, "maybe you could charge me less then?" Was told I could get a 50c discount. Seriously?! This place clearly doesn't want business. And by the way, a week ago I ordered and ate a sticky bun from here. It was totally average at best. This place is not living up to it's rating.
