I ordered the Ube latte once it was okay, doesn't come with espresso I added three shots cause I knew it was gonna be sweet if not. Breakfast I liked the skillets most over everything. They add fries to almost everything, and I noticed it seems like the fries are fried in like pan oil not like a fried because they come out oddly extremely oily. I arrived right at 630am when they opened. It was a great option for breakfast at the start of my Road to Hana journey. It took them about 10 minutes to prepare my bagel. The bagel was perfect for filling me up for a day filled with activity. My first bite of the cinnamon roll, I was initially disappointed with the frosting . It's a little different but come 2pm after a long hike it was just the sweet treat that I needed. I ordered the haiku omelette because i love eggplant but after waiting for our order i was informed they were out of eggplant, they substituted with tomatoes, onions, etc and it was still an excellent omelette. I also had their blue matcha hot latte, which was really delicious. The potatoes were cooked to perfection and perfectly flavored with spices. Served with sliced baguette. We were looking for a new restaurant to try for breakfast. My cousin found this on yelp, and I'm so glad she did! I ordered the ham & onion omelette. The carmelized onions were sooo good! 3.5/5 stars. What a cute environment! I had an early skydive apt in Hana so I ordered ahead since I have heard food-waits can be on the longer side. I was thrown off because the eggplant on focaccia had different ingredients listed on their website as it does in-person. In-person there is no mayo listed, and goat cheese on it, and online there was mayo and no goat cheese. I thought they changed its recipe so I asked for no mayo and to add goat cheese for a +$2 up charge. They said it would be ready at 10am, 23 min after I submitted the order. When I arrived at 10am I got a drink (their blue matcha vanilla latte is DELICIOUS) and asked about my takeout order. The cashier said they were working on it now so I sat down. When my drink came I asked the runner about the order (it was about 10 min later, now past the time it said it'd be ready) and she said they were making it now. I waited another 15 min or so assuming I was on their radar now, before going back up to the cashier to ask about it and she had it behind her and gave it to me. I understand the online ordering is probably new and they're still figuring out how to be efficient with it but it was something that hindered my morning timeline despite me thinking ordering ahead would be effective. The eggplant on focaccia was not very good, as it was absolutely SMOTHERED in goat cheese. Now, whether this was an issue with the fact I had to up charge myself to get it since it wasn't listed as on it on the website so they put double, or it was just what they happened to do that day, I'm unsure. But I was with my friend who is a regular and it was my first time going there and I'm pretty bummed with the price and ingredient errors as well as the poor system for online ordering and pickup in general. Baked on Maui had some highs and lows for me. The French toast? Absolutely worth coming back for. It was so good that I made a point to return just for that. Plus, the location was super convenient--just a short walk from my Airbnb in Haiku, which made it the perfect breakfast choice. But the service? Questionable. The first time I went, it felt a little disengaged, and the second visit (with just two people) was slightly better. However, when I came with my full family of seven, the lack of concern about our seating situation was frustrating. I had already spent over $140 on food, and I wanted them to at least acknowledge the issue or make an effort to help us out. Instead, it felt like we were just left to figure it out on our own. It was a similar situation with the drinks. Outside of coffee and a water container, if you want anything else, you have to walk next door to the Pauwela Store to grab a drink. Not a huge deal, but inconvenient if you're not expecting such a DIY breakfast experience. The food is solid, but customer service matters, especially when accommodating larger groups. If they had shown a little more care, this could have easily been a higher-rated experience. Three stars for the great French toast and walkability, but if they're crowded, and they often are, your best bet is taking your food to go and enjoying it elsewhere. At the end of the day, understand that Baked On Maui is just an overpriced takeout spot with seating as an afterthought. read more

I've eaten here a few times and the food is tasty! However, today I ordered a burger $16 + Fries for an additional $6. I was disappointed in the serving of fries. This tiny but mighty coffee spot is one of my favorites. They hand craft all of their specialty lattes, matcha- and have a lovely "Iao blend" earl grey tea as well. Baked has been around for a while, and it's evident that they know what they're doing. From beverages to food- you can't go wrong. Inside space is limited but they offer a super cute and cozy outdoor space to enjoy as well. Just remember, this is a local business that is creating everything mostly from scratch, and per order- so don't expect a quick "in and out service" unless you call ahead and they can accommodate a pickup time. If you want to get a head start on your day and have a "decent" coffee, DO NOT COME HERE. I ordered 2 coffees, and ONE breakfast benedict. It took an hour and a half to get a wrong coffee order that tasted like water. I completely understand it was the day after Christmas; however, I am a firm believer that these are the days that should be staffed more adequately and/or orders prioritized much more efficiently. For instance, if you have a smaller order right behind a large order (which happened to us), make the smaller order first (right?). Moreover, I really don't have anything to offer for our coffee to be messed up. I ordered 2 iced lattes with coconut - they came hot (the milk was burned, for that matter), and watered down.
