Still my absolute favorite in Maui! This is one of two place I HAVE TO VISIT each time in Maui. Get there early, or order to go out the back door. I dream about the macadamia nut pancakes when back at home, and I'm still trying to replicate their breakfast fried rice between visits. Came here at 8:45. The line was so long. We decided to order take out (from the back of the restaurant). Got our food in 15 minutes. We sat and had our breakfast by the pool just outside. It was perfectly cloudy, so we enjoyed the fresh air and fantastic view. Had the eggs Benedict. . Oh soooo good. Maybe next time, I'll bring my own plate and cutlery, so I can enjoy al fresco breakfast even more (I don't enjoy eating with plastic fork). Great whale watching time. We ordered the combo Mac nut pancakes which came with a mountain of homemade whipped cream, Mac nuts, banana, and pineapple. The pineapple was underwhelming and stringy / not super flavorful. But, everything else was phenomenal - so fluffy pancake, creamy caramelized tasting whipped cream, plenty of Mac nuts - just WOW. We also got a side oder of corned beef hash which was fresh and hot, along with the country potatoes which were ok - tasted like the oil may have been a bit stale. Amazing views and one of the few options on the beach in the area. The lines can get long but it's quick and service is awesome. Food is fine. The egg Benedict was mid, but the fried rice was huge and solid, I spied the breakfast burrito that looked massive. Overall, a solid spot if you're walking distance and want a filling, basic, big portion meal. The views are stunning, but easily gotten at the beach below. Popular breakfast spot with beach views. We read other reviews that recommended arriving here earlier than the 7:30am opening time. We arrived at 7am and it was 35 minute wait after opening. The line moved slowly because there's limited seating and people don't rush but it's a vacation vibe, so what do you expect. We ordered the combo pancakes and the half order of fried rice. The half order portion was huge - I still had leftovers after the meal. Cash and credit cards accepted but it's more expensive to use credit cards. We were staying within walking distance to the Gazebo, from all our research for this trip a must visit for breakfast. While there is usually a line to get in, I figured because it was rainy we would get right in. I was wrong, there was still a line. The Gazebo had large umbrellas you could use, the line is outside. The damp morning brought a beautiful rainbow over the water. About 50 minutes later we were in. There was a line the entire time we were there. The pancakes are the thing, and also it turns out, fried rice. Under their Specialties, I ordered White Chocolate Macadamia Nut, two fluffy pancakes topped with those items plus a generous topping of whipped cream. While it was wonderful without syrup, I did eventually try their white super sweet coconut syrup. Another in our group got for the table a full order of their Egg Fried Rice, and it was a mountain of food on a large plate. The savory rice really helped balance the sweet of the pancakes. The rice had a ton of different ingredients. Once ordered the food took less than 10 minutes. This open air spot overlooking the water was a fantastic start to the day. read more

All around amazing. The banana macadamia nut pancakes order comes with two perfectly cooked pancakes topped with a mountain of whip cream. I added their coconut syrup that is made locally and completely elevated the dish! My husband and I split the order and our waitress so kindly served it on two plates for us. We also ordered the fried rice to share - it was more than enough ! Could have done with the 1/2 order however, it was nice to have left overs for later. The fried rice was delicious and the perfect salty compliment to the sweet pancakes. In regard to the wait, we showed up about 30 min early and were able to be sat right away. The Gazebo is one of those places you have to try to experience Maui. The food is unique, the setting is beautiful and the service compliments the experience. She had the Macadamia Nut pancakes and they are outstanding! The whipped topping, the macadamia nut infused pancake, topped with house made coconut syrup, you couldn't ask for more! It's an experience in itself! I got the massive serving of Fried Rice and it was onolicious! I'll also be eating for a while, since we brought the leftovers with us. There was quite a long wait to get seated and we had to stand in the sun, but they had plenty of umbrellas available so we could stay out of it, which helped. For breakfast: * My husband ordered the mac nut pancakes. * My kids each ordered a fried rice dish. Each one was huge -- we definitely could've ordered just one and added another dish for variety. * I ordered a tailor-made omelet, which came with home fries and sourdough bread. Since I'm gluten-free, I gave the bread to someone else. The food was all very good. If we went back, the only thing I'd do differently is not order two of the same dish -- the fried rice portions were so large that my kids couldn't finish them. My husband really isn't a pancake person, so I'm not sure why he chose the mac nut pancakes other than that they seem to be a specialty. But I can't - some people arrived around 6:30 to get in line to ensure they were seated upon opening. We arrived at 7:20 and it took about 40 minutes to be seated, so highly recommend arriving early. They stayed their line is like that every single day so just go take an early day to do this. The fruit was cooked into the pancakes which added amazing flavor. At first we thought they were just plain but quickly realized our mistake in this. The service was quick and efficient to make sure the turnover kept happening. I never had to ask them for a refill because they made sure my coffee stayed full. I highly recommend this place! This was a very cute spot in north Lahaina, very close to the beach. We got there at 10:15 and the line was over an hour long, so we ordered takeout. It took about 10 minutes after ordering to get our food- very fast for how long the line was! The restaurant is super small, but we sat on the lawn chairs in front by the hotel pool with a great beach view. There is a bell you ring if you see a whale. The portions were very big- the big kahuna omelet was my personal favorite, but the macadamia nut pancakes were also really good and served with a bunch of the macadamia nut whipped topping. read more

We finally got to try this place! We were here in May and when we tried coming the wait was 2 hours!! But this trip we finally got to try it and it did not disappoint! We waited about 15 minutes in line. We are a party of 6 and the space is limited so we had to sit a separate tables which we didn't mind (they did have a table for 6 but we would've had to wait awhile for the group that was already at the table to be finished). They have umbrellas outside to use while waiting in line which is nice especially if you're going to wait in a long line in the sun. Service was great! The food was delicious. But you'll pay the price, not so much in dollars but time. People in line said it would take an hour and came previous days where it was even longer. For pancakes and eggs? Yeah. So a pro tip: order by phone and it takes 25-20 minutes. Grab a table or lounger right next to the restaurant outside by the hotel pool. Same incredible view but much faster! But they're super nice. They have umbrellas to shade from the sun. They gave cups of ice water too. Food: Pancakes were average. Not particularly fluffy or special quality. And they gave a huge platter of cream which of course made them better. The omelette with Swiss cheese (forgot the official name) was pretty good but ya gotta like cheese. Come here for lunch instead and it's a lot less crazy. There are a few places around that are a lot of hype but not much to it when you look at the food itself, this is not one of those. We walked right in for lunch without a wait , the views and experience is amazing . Service was very warm and you feel like being transported in someone's local kitchen. Note those lil cute birds that come in are super aggressive with pecking your food so be aware if you plan on stepping away to the restroom or something if food is on your table. Not sure why their fried rice which is like the best thing here is not on their menu but thanks to other yelpers I got it. Awesome texture with local veggies. It is quite busy so expect to wait a bit. Cool beach vibe interior. The service was really good the waitresses were really nice. The food is really solid. Fried rice was huge got a full plate and did not expect how big it was still finished it though. Lots of flavor and meat in it. Minor nit pic but not big on the purple cabbage in it. A great little place overlooking the ocean with island flair and good food. But, make sure you get there early, like an hour before they open early, or you will be waiting in line to get in. We were staying at one of the nearby resorts so it was a short walk across the beach to get to the restaurant, and we had been warned to go early. We were there about 45 minutes before opening and several other customers were already in line before us. As soon as they opened, people were seated quickly and served just as quickly by the friendly waitresses. We ordered POG (passion fruit, orange, papaya) juices and a pineapple to start. The POGs were a bit watered down, but the pineapple was fresh and juicy. Hubby ordered the macadamia nut pancakes with bananas added and thought they were ok. He had hoped that the nuts and bananas would be cooked into the pancake batter, but they were more of a topping. The pile of whipped cream was a bit overwhelming. He did like the coconut syrup. It's a large pancake portion, so you may want to share. I ordered simple ham and eggs, and it was exactly what I expected... ham and eggs. Come (early) for the views and for the atmosphere. Sorry to rain on the parade, but The Gazebo is not THAT good, certainly not enough to wait as long as many have been reporting. The parking situation is not great as you have to navigate through a strange path to get there. When you're there, get ready to be greeted by a line longer than The Road To Hana (no reservations accepted). The place has 10 or so tables so it takes a while to get through things. There were roughly 20 people ahead of us and the estimated wait was an hour. We eventually gave up and placed a to-go order by calling in and got our food around 15 minutes later and ate outside the restaurant at seats that we're not sure even belonged to the restaurant. We got an order of macadamia nut pancakes with a side of portuguese sausage and an order of buttermilk pancakes with a side of bacon. The result: meh. The macadamia nut pancakes were alright but the cream was very very thick and sweet, basically robs the pancake of any flavor itself, the portuguese sausage was very flavorful though. As for the buttermilk pancakes, they tasted like any pancake you could get at any restaurant, and the bacon was just alright as well. Don't get me wrong, The Gazebo is beautifully located on the water and not far from the bay so we understand why it's a hit. But once you take off your rose colored glasses and the magic of Hawaii fades, you realize this is a very average breakfast spot. read more

We arrived on a Thursday at 915am. There is a small parking lot for customers located through guest parking for the hotel that can accommodate maybe 20 or so cars. We didn't get lucky with parking so we parked on the street and walked through the lot. The line hugged the pool and stretched to meet the stairs so we waited about 45 minutes for a table. They try to accommodate the wait by offering free decaffeinated and caffeinated coffee with cream and sugar. There's also a nicely shaded gift shop to peruse and stand if you seek shade like me and have someone to hold your spot in line (thanks Fiancé!) I can't imagine being a hotel guest and wanting to spend time at this pool while the restaurant is open. read more

When visiting the island you ask for recommendations for places to eat at and to visit. Many people were by this place and recommended this as a must visit restaurant for their breakfast offerings. So there we went on day one - planned ahead and made it to the entrance 10 minutes before the opened. To amazement they're already were at least 60 people waiting to get seated. Goes to see how famous this place is. So we waited and waited to get our spot to be seated. This restaurant has a patio seating and has the most amazing views looking at the ocean. How better would you want to start your morning with some great local flavors and a cup of Kona coffee? We tried their coconut pancakes with macadamia nuts, and the order of pineapple (how can you miss when in Hawaii?). Guava juice with just what was needed to some the whole experience. So, was the food good? Absolutely yes! But was it worth the 90 minutes wait to get a table? Really not in my opinion. I'd say get a takeout and sit somewhere with a scenic view and enjoy the food.
