We didn't really plan on going to Duke's, but it was close by. Things started off great with live music, and Aloha Hour definitely helped with pricing on a few items. The outdoor seating has an amazing view--just be ready to deal with the birds. Unfortunately, our server wasn't very friendly or attentive, which took away from the experience. The food itself was just okay. The steak tacos were tasty but extremely small for an Aloha Hour portion and price. The Kalua pork wraps were also fine, but again, way too small for what they cost. The burger was the best of the savory items, with a nice char on the outside. The Mai Tai was just okay, not strong and not particularly memorable. The highlight of the meal was the Kimo's Original Hula Pie. It's a huge slice, perfect for sharing, and absolutely delicious with the chocolate and mac nut ice cream. If we ever return, it would be solely for the Hula Pie.
We've been at this Dukes more than any other restaurant in the state, and it has never disappointed. Last night was no exception! They were super busy, but we had a reservation and were seated quickly. Our server had a couple of big parties, but still came by and got our order in a timely fashion and was friendly. We got the crab and mac nut wantons- which were AMAZING! I got the baked fish with a basil sauce, which happened to be Monchong. Amazing! My wife got the 12oz prime rib medium rare, it was perfect! So good. The evening was finished with Hula pie that was as good as we remember. Overall, a perfect night!
Great service, Good food, and great views!! We are staying here at the resort and had just gotten settled from a very long travel day. Had a resy for dinner and were seated within 5 minutes. Started off with two Mai tais which were tasty and the crab wontons. I would do the wontons again, they were a nice starter. My wife and I split the macadamia nut crusted fish with rice. Really nice, they pre split it for us! Fish (mahi mahi) tasted great but was overcooked. My little guy got the kids burger which was good and my stepson got the fish and chips. Overall, we had a nice first meal. If our fish wasn't overcooked, it would have been 5 stars!
We went here on Sunday August 16, 2026 which is the day after Storm Lala decided to blow on thru and Dukes was the one restaurant open! Victor was our server and he was absolutely wonderful and helpful when it came to the food and drink menu and gave some great recommendations. My dad got the seafood risotto, my mom got the two lobster tails and I got the steamed fish and shrimp in banana leaf. I think the steamed fish and shrimp with the mushrooms and bok choy which was soooo flavorful and yummy! Everything was honestly delicious and I would absolutely come back. I love the open air atmosphere that looks right in the beach.
Sorry guys...I was not impressed! Food was mediocre and prime rib was bland. Filet was overcooked and just did not meet my expectations. Our server Michael was horrible, and out of it. Didn't take our order until 20 minutes later and then realized he had forgotten about us. Asked how are food was, but he didn't really care. He walked away mid sentence as I was speaking to answer the question he had asked. So rude. And here's the worst part, when he brought our bill, he hovered over our shoulder while we were entering in the tip. Felt so uncomfortable and awkward. Please tell your servers do not do this! I highly doubt I will be coming back.

Mai Tais were just ok, a little too sweet for my liking. We had calamari for appetizer, which was just ok. The calamari is small strip style and seemed a little over cooked. Mains were excellent though. I have the fish tacos and they were great with so much flavor. Everyone in our party either had the fish tacos or the risotto and everyone loved it. Of course we couldn't go to Duke's without having the Hula Pie, which was also so good! We split 3 between the 13 of us and it was the perfect amount. It's an outdoor open air type of feel. We were a large party so we were seated inside but we could still see the water and the view. We would come back here again.
When we stay in the area, we always almost come here for either breakfast, lunch, or dinner. This place is one of our go to for places to eat over the years. Located by the beach and great view at sunset. Breakfast times are not too bad, unless it's the weekend. Lunch is a little busier, but you can still get in with maybe a little wait time. Dinner, is a different story, you must make a reservation. They will be booked up. Food is pretty good here. It's decent, depending on what you get. Service is good. The staff are friendly. Hula pie I recommend.
A very good place for dinner. Beautiful sunset views from your table. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer, it was a bit chewy but flavorful. We ordered Duke's fish and the banana leaf shrimp and fish. Both were delicious although the shrimp was a little tough. The real winner was dessert. The hula pie was great. The service was great. A great place for dinner.
Dukes is always a favorite place to eat when we visit Hawaii. I love how fresh the fish is!! I've never been disappointed with the taste, service or ambience. It's always a number one spot for our family!! We had another great experience this week!!

Duke's is a family favorite for sure! The Mac Nut pancakes are so delicious. Perhaps the best on the island! We also tried the omelette with the fried rice and it was the perfect combo. Of course we had to get an extra scramble egg for our little one who ate it all. The service is always great at dukes! Our server was attentive & our coffee cups didn't go unnoticed. The cherry on top is the view! Any seat you get you can see the ocean. Would highly recommend.
Lunch prices are really competitive! Love the ocean front view, the decor, the staff...simple love all of it. This was our first visit to Duke's Beach House, but it won't be our last. Each trip we try to find a new place, this one will be a go to for happy hour and lunch going forward...at least once each visit to Maui. We were celebrating my wife's birthday so they gave us a nice big piece of delicious Kimo's Original Hula Pie after our meal...it was so big we all had plenty and were completely stuffed. The kalua pork sandwich was on point as well, the slaw complimented the sweatness of the pork perfectly!

We celebrated our anniversary with dinner here and we had a really great time!! Duke's seems very popular so I highly recommend reservations. All of their seating is semi-outdoor (covered but open air) which is perfect since it gets you out of the sun and the heat but you still enjoy the fresh ocean breeze. We were seated about 10 minutes after our reservation time, but our server came right away. We started with the Kula If You Can drink to share, which comes in slushie form. It was so good! The alcohol wasn't that strong, so we ordered a second drink, the POG Slushie (with dark rum). The rum comes drizzled on top of the slushie and slowly sinks down in as you sip it. That drink was really good too, although the Kula drink was slightly better. Next we got the Crispy Coconut Shrimp as an appetizer. It was delicious! It came with 4 jumbo shrimp and a lilikoi dipping sauce. The lilikoi was a nice take on a classic sweet and sour sauce. For our mains, I got the Banana Leaf Steamed Fish & Shrimp and my husband got the Fire Grilled Fresh Fish. Both dishes are done with seasonal local fish, so everything is super fresh and the type of fish varies throughout the year based on what's in season. The dishes were both delicious! They were just the right size to be filling without being over stuffed. I actually liked the Fire Grilled Fresh Fish more, because it had stronger and bolder flavors while the Banana Leaf dish was a little subtler. For dessert, we had the Hula Pie (complimentary for our anniversary!). It was SO GOOD. Before we tasted it I thought it might be overhyped since they seem to really play it up as their signature dish, but after trying it, oh man, it really is worth it. One dish was plenty big enough for sharing with 2-4 people. My husband and I devoured it. Our server was excellent and attended to us regularly. He was good at reading the room and gauging whether we wanted more or not, so he wasn't pushy. He was congratulatory for our anniversary too, and brought a card signed by the whole staff saying Happy Anniversary, so that was a thoughtful touch. Made reservations the morning of our visit, so we could only get a late evening table. We ended up getting a table in the bar area so we could eat sooner. Keep in mind it's first come first serve. Live music was good and the atmosphere is very much Hawai'i. Service was a bit slow, but I do appreciate that they accommodated my food allergy. Drinks were tasty. Our biggest challenge was finding parking because the restaurant is behind a time share building and it was tough finding a spot since we were not staying at that resort. Overall worth a visit. Hopping place along the boardwalk to enjoy food, good drinks and a kicking sunset. Pro-tip - snag a seat at the bar for no wait. Service is attentive, quick and friendly. Went for our anniversary. The manager who had a Hawaiin name that starts with "K" went over and above to get us seated where we requested, even though they were busy and had plenty to do. He was patient and professional and we much appreciated his skilled approach. Carlos was sweet and eager to provide excellent service which he did. Beautiful location and lovely staff. Very much worth the drive from Wailea. Thank you Dukes. :) read more

Ambiance = 5/5. Right near the beach. Service= 4/5. Server forgot to apply our kama'aina discount. He re-ran the bill. Food = 4/5. The fluffiest eggs I've ever had in the breakfast burrito. read more
We like the ambiance better than the food, but the food is very solid. Service was attentive and friendly while being quick. The patio was closed because of weather and they put down the shades to protect us, but it did make it very dark inside. We liked the fish sandwich and fries and the fish plate was fine, but not super remarkable. We will keep coming back for the atmosphere and views! read more

Our last night in Maui was the perfect way to celebrate our 45th Anniversary at Duke's! We had a party of 11 (6 adults and 5 kids), and even though the restaurant was packed, Charles and the entire staff were fantastic--especially with the kids. The food took a little longer to arrive, which was completely understandable, and it was absolutely worth the wait! We started with the calamari appetizer--excellent. The guys ordered the Ahi tuna and couldn't stop talking about it. I had the macadamia nut-crusted monchong, and it was hands down the best meal I had all week! A huge thank you to Charles and everyone at Duke's for making our anniversary dinner so memorable. And of course...you can't leave without ordering the Hula Pie. It's an absolute must! read more
Dukes is the perfect place to catch a sunset view while dining on delicious food. We thoroughly enjoyed their drinks pictured you'll see two Lychee Martinis which were absolutely divine. I questioned the pineapple slice instead of lychee fruit but still delicious they drank like juice. Their Maitais were great and they foam is better in my opinion then other famous places. The food was delicious my sister and I had a seafood risotto not pictured but was full of clams, prawns, and scallops. My husband had the ribeye and it was cooked perfectly. The service was truly wonderful and we loved the live music. It was the perfect last sunset dinner to end our Maui vacation with. You should make reservations! Request a table with a view. We stopped into Duke's Beach House for an 11am brunch on a very rainy Maui morning. The weather kept things pretty quiet, and we were seated right away. Service was good overall--friendly and attentive--but nothing especially memorable. We were staying at the Westin and used the guest discount card, which came with a free appetizer. We went with the calamari, and it was a good start to the meal. For our mains, I had the BBQ chicken salad and my wife ordered the fish tacos. Both dishes were tasty and fresh, exactly what you'd hope for at a casual beachside spot. There was a small blip with my salad, but the staff fixed it quickly and without any hassle, which we appreciated. All in all, a solid brunch with good food and a relaxed atmosphere--even on a rainy day. Not quite a standout experience, but definitely a place we'd return to the next time we're on Maui. read more

Welcoming staff, our waitress was great, knowledgeable and friendly but I felt something was missing. Dukes is nestled on the beach in the back of the Westin, overlooking the ocean...but it was stale, the music was blah, the atmosphere was non existent and the food was okay. The breakfast and dinner menu looked promising but unfortunately we decided to go at lunch, middle of the day, so I really want to attribute that to our experience or lack thereof. Underwhelming is what it summed up to be, at least for me. read more
Amazing! OK, let's start with the food. My husband and I both ordered the barbecue ribs and chicken plate. It was the best meal we had the entire trip. We also had the hula pie which was so good! There was something wrong with my husband's meal and almost immediately Chloe, being the superstar she is, took it back and got him a new one immediately. Then the manager came out and also apologized. This is probably the best service we have had our entire trip and they were so apologetic for something that really wasn't that big of a deal. Before we got to our table, they had a card waiting for us because it's our anniversary and all of the staff members signed it. We will definitely be back. This place was probably our favorite restaurant in all of Maui. Also, our table was beachside and probably one of the prettiest views I have had during a meal. read more
One of our first meals in Maui! We made a reservation for 4 on our first full day and we were seated right away. I would highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time as there were quite a few parties that were waiting. The restaurant is tucked behind a resort so we were able to find guest parking in front of the hotel free of charge. It is located by the water with an amazing beachside view. We ordered the POG and mango slush, both of which were fruity and refreshing. One of the best slushies I've had in awhile. We ordered the rib & chicken plate to share. Both the chicken and ribs were juicy and marinated well. Last but not least, the hula pie was SO DELICIOUS. We had received a complimentary coupon for the hula pie from one of the concierges at the resort, even though we did not stay there! the pie was ice cream with a shave ice texture, making it a perfect treat to end the meal. We were very very satisfied with this meal (+ the free pie!) and got to take a stroll on the beach afterwards too. Would highly recommend this place for the ambiance & food! read more

Great food, good server! To start we got the crab wontons. The crab filling was SMOOTH and CREAMY and the Thai sauce went well. But it kind of over powered the crab. The fish was AMAZING and FRESH! We had the Sautéed Mac Nut & Herb-Crusted Fresh Fish (mahi-mahi) and the banana leaf steam fish (hapu'u hawaiian sea bass) Great flavor and butteriness of the white meat fish and the rice and vegetables went really well with the dishes. We also tried the prime rib that was well seasoned, tender, juicy, and had a good chew. Paird really well with the horseradish. The dessert were DELICIOUS! Definitely try out the creme brûlée which came with three different flavors and the lilikoi pie (kinda more like a tart/cheesecake) but it was VERY GOOD. Had a nice tang from the sauce and the coconut crust added a nice crunchy texture! read more
We go here every time we travel to Hawaii. This time I tried the seafood Risotto and Loved it! Make sure to get the calamari- delish! Came back again this year (2025) and the seafood Risotto is the BOMB. Fried calamari is delicious as well. read more

Among the nicer fine dining restaurants at Maui with beautiful ambience and good food. We got an outdoor table with a sunset view that was spectacular. We loved the seafood risotto, Mac nut herb crusted fish, and the hula pie. The service was very pleasant and accommodating. Definitely recommend this place. read more
Super atmosphere right by the beach where you can eat a good meal while listening to the ocean. The food was very good. We ordered the Ahi to start but I didn't get a picture because it was so good it didn't have a chance. The prime rib and macadamia nut crusted Mahi was good. We have been to Dukes in Waikiki and my bf really wanted to visit Dukes while in Maui. We did not have reservations so we did a walk in. They have open seating for the bar top and bar area. While we were waiting a table actually opened up in the bar so we decided to take it. The bar area offers the bar menu and the full dining menu. I love lava flows and was a bit sad not to see it on the menu. I asked the waitress if they had it and she said they do, but it's not on the menu. My bf ordered a mai tai which he really enjoyed! My lava flow was delicious! Sadly, service just wasn't there... we would've loved to get another drink each, but the waitress never came to check on us. For food we ordered the poke tacos and the pork nachos. The tacos were really good and I would highly recommend. The nachos were good, but over baked. We had pieces that tasted burnt and the cheese was crisp vs gooey. They were hard to eat as they were all stuck together and would easily break due to being overcooked. Overall the food was ok, the place had a great view and great vibe, drinks were good, but it is not worth going out of your way to come and it is overpriced. I will also add that there was no live music despite being on the schedule. read more

Stopped in on our first night of vacation! It was the perfect spot to kick off our vacation with yummy drinks and good food and a beautiful view of the ocean. We were seated on the patio overlooking the sunset. As the sun set, they turned on the tikis and live music began, and the ambiance was set! I ordered the furikake ahi steak. It was perfectly seared and plated on rice with a delicious spicy sauce. Our waiter Charles shared that it was his favorite and I was thankful I took his recommendation. The hula pie was not as delicious as it has been in the past. The inside tasted freezer burnt and lacked on the macadamia flavor. This was disappointing as it is one of my favorite desserts typically. Definitely recommend! read more

Not only do they they not take reservations, you will wait in line to put your name on a list and get vague answers to time estimates.
Do they have a Happy Hoir?
From what I can see Dukes discontinued happy hour due to the Covid pandemic.
Do you require proof of vaccination? For non vaccinated guests, is outdoor dinning an option?
No cause it mostly out door dining
Do you take walk ins or only reservation in the evening?
Both. They told us they are limiting the reservations so that people can do walk in meals. They're purposely keeping walk in space open. It's nice especially since it's so difficult to get a table sometimes other places.

Definitely. Might want to consider more appropriate night time attire but they won't kick you out. It's the best place if you are staying in Kaanapali.
