The staff are very polite and even when it's busy the service is pretty quick. The store does get a little crowded when ordering food, but while you're waiting you might as well shop around the store rather than waiting by the counter for your food. I got an ube matcha and banana matcha latte and both were really good. You can really taste the ube and the matcha, they weren't over powering each other. The banana matcha was also very good, the banana flavor was faint while still being able to taste the matcha. I also got ube pancakes and an acai bowl were sooo good, I loved it so much. read more

I was staying far the Ritz Carlton which is right near Honolulu Store #89. I walked over one morning I grab breakfast, settling on the Island breakfast deluxe with fried rice because who has fried rice for breakfast? Sounded interesting. It was delicious! Stopped by Honolua Market for a quick lunch during peak time and waited about 20-30 minutes, so plan accordingly as it gets busy around lunchtime. The crispy chicken katsu musubi was well seasoned with a nice crispy texture, definitely the standout of what we picked up. The spam and egg furikake musubi was solid too, though I wish the spam slices were a bit larger for better balance in each bite. We also got the boneless kalbi short ribs with rice. The flavor was smoky and not overly sweet, which I appreciated, but it was a bit too saucy for my preference. Bonus: I love that it's located under ABC Stores, so you can redeem your receipts for free gifts if you're shopping there. This was easy to get to with a lot of parking. There is also some shaded outdoor seating which was nice. You order at the register. They have really delicious ube pancakes, but they do take a while to prepare. They also have breakfast platters you can order but I recommend just getting one of the premade ones as they are cheaper and the same exact thing. read more

This is a traditional local store, but it is the only one near our stay in Napili They have liquor and clothes 1/3, breakfast, fruit and snacks 1/3 , and so many drinks in chillers I have never seen. But they did have eggs which have been absent or 11.00 a dozen and a small bakery. Everything is exact lined up and perfect. No shopping carts. Just hand baskets. This store is an ABC Store but better. It's great to have a mostly reasonably-priced option like this near the Ritz and Kapalua Villas. In addition to usual ABC Store offerings, they also have: - Pretty good sushi boxed up and ready to go - A huge selection of canned drinks - A coffee bar including tea and boba drinks (not amazing boba but worth it since it's so convenient) - Other quick lunch and dinner food options including salads, teriyaki bowls, etc. Definitely check the prices since some things are very overpriced like a banana or certain bags of chips but there are lots of good values to be found here and it's very convenient! read more

Cut to me eating every morsel in front of my mom (who didn't even know what ube was) omg they were good. They have definitely improved since my last visit in 2017. Like vast improvement. They have tons of different food offerings. A grab and go section with hot and cold bentos, made to order hot food section, cold food deli, boba, coffee, small bakery and a lot more. I like that they have monthly specials. Sister works at Montage so I stop by often for a cheap meal. I've tried a bunch of different menu items, some are good flavors/ideas but poor execution. Examples: Prime Rib Moco - Use to be unlisted from the menu but they would make it if you ask. It's not a staple on the menu. They cut thin slices of prime rib and then cook it again on flat top so the precious cut of meat has been overkilled. I sometimes ask they just slice the meat and not cook it again. Nashville Honey Chicken - I liked that the chicken was crisp and spicy. But the honey they poured on the top was way too much and it spilled all over the fries resulting in sticky, soggy fries. =( Kim chee fried rice - hit or miss. It was once extremely soggy, thick, mush. When it was fried properly it was good. Not too spicy, comes with some pork, egg and kim chee. Reminded me of a simple bibimbop. Ube pancakes - always good. Fluffy pancakes smothered in that sweet ube sauce. Sometimes it comes with strawberries, sometimes not but it's a garnish anyways. The food takes about 20-30 min during lunch, it's always busy when I come so give yourself extra time. They take phone orders apparently but I've never tried to call. read more

It's an ABC store, but better! Honolua store is a gem in Kapalua. It's probably the most economical way to get a warm meal in the area and the food is delicious! Highlights are their Kimchi Fried Rice, and Loco Moco - both scrumptious. We have taken their prime rib to go up to Haleakala as well as a nice meal to enjoy at the summit. One of my fave things is to try their staff picks. One recent find was the chocolate covered pineapple gummy bears! You would think they were some lab experiment gone wrong but I guess there's nothing wrong with that and it's absolutely delicious! Also this is one of the few places that serves Dole Whip, so don't forget to get your dose of pineapple ono deliciousness on the way out! If you forgot something at the supermarket, you likely can find it here. We come back every year and the staff are always super aloha. They carried a great variety of ABC store type souvenirs and the other half was like a market with a hot food table, poke, quick grab and go items, and made to order hot foods. Every time I've visited Honolua Store I've been pleasantly surprised with the price and quality of what I purchase. On my most recent visit, I enjoyed their açaí bowl for the special price of $10.99. Pricey for what it is, but definitely on par for island prices and the bowl itself was very good. I love all the variety of the deli too. I'll need to come back to eat my way through the hot foods as well. read more

We came here several times this week. The souvenir selection is awesome! We bought some postcards and some tchotchkes The food option was vast, we ordered Loco moco and the Poké bowl. West Maui has just experienced another setback: a 24-hour blackout that shuttered almost every eatery from Lahaina to Kapalua. Even the restaurant at the venerable Ritz Carlton was not open for meals. But! Word soon got around that the Honolua Store was open not only for coffee but full meals as well. At 8 am the lines had already started to form: coffee and meals. as frazzled as these employees must have felt, they delivered aloha to all those in line. Although the wait could be long, it was well worth it for the quality of offerings.From cafe Latte to breakfast burritos, Honolua won us over. And yes, lunches and dinners were also served. Came here for lunch after a fun time at Kapulua Ziplines! There are so many options to choose from including burgers, authentic Hawaiian food, smoothies, and more. I decided to get the swiss mushroom burger which was delicious! They also have a Dole Whip machine that you only have to pay like $5 for and you fill up the cup yourself. Stayed at the ritz again and had to go to this store bc I got tired of resort food. This time unfortunately not a good experience for me. I got really bad food poisoning from either the poke or spam musubi during lunch hour. I got both at the same time so not sure which caused my illness. Likely the poke since it's raw and the store needs to know how to handle raw food properly. Since they didn't because I got sick you can consider this post a public warning. And no. I did not have breakfast and no. I did not eat anything before or after that. So yes. You can rule out other causes. This store is extensively stocked with a lot of items. Their deli is cheaper than pretty much any restaurant in West Maui. With that, here is what I had from the menu and how it ranked: - Ube Pancakes, worth the hype, excellent. - Mahi Mahi tacos, had twice. Very good but get soggy super fast as they don't flat top / heat the tortillas. - Fish & Chips, bland and I mean bland. Both fries and fish are tasteless, fish was also soggy from the get which makes me wonder if they were fried earlier and then just served up from a heat lamp. My friend and I were staying at the Ritz Carlton Resort in Maui and this store was right at the front of the property so naturally we had to check it out. We quickly noticed that the lines built up around breakfast and lunch times. This was like a small grocery and liquor store which also had a small deli/coffee shop inside. I think this store was so popular because it had very reasonable prices! It was cheaper to buy an entire bottle of wine here than it was to have a nice glass at the hotel - so people stocked up. With the breakfasts being so popular here, we did decide to try it one morning. I ordered the belgian waffle with a side of eggs and I have to admit - both were pretty bad. My waffle tasted like it was popped out of the freezer, into the toaster and onto my plate and the eggs were overly oily. My friend's meal on the other hand looked fantastic so I think it's hit or miss. This store also has meals to go that you can grab which come in hand for if you want something to take with you to the pool - the fresh fruit was my item of choice! Ordered the Shrimp/Rib plate. Brought it home to eat. We were shocked to see the meat. It was a 1/4" thick, a 3x4" slab, marinated and raw in the middle. After checking out of our hotel, we were on the hunt for some grub. Honolua Store was nearby and I had them bookmarked because they have a Teaspresso bar inside for boba and all kinds of other drinks. Honolua Store is part of the ABC Store brand, so you'll find a lot of similar 'touristy' products of souvenirs, trinkets, and Maui/Hawaii made snacks and food. I ended getting a blended Brown Sugar Milk Tea boba and my other half got the breakfast burrito. My drink was honestly just ok. The boba wasn't the best. It tasted over cooked and didn't have that bouncy chew. The flavor also tasted watered down. The real winner was the breakfast burrito. Woah, was not expecting such great flavor from a simple burrito. Not sure if we were just hungry, but my husband and I really enjoyed it! The sausage, the egg, everything was great and we can see why it's a staff pick. Definitely recommend it and would get it in the future! If you're staying in Kapalua and need to pick up some last minute snacks, food, or other vacation essentials, this is the spot. read more

REVIEW ONLY FOR REWARDS CARD: I visit this store often as I live locally and it is beside my home and workplace. It is a great place for coffee, food, groceries, etc if you don't want to hike to Safeway. I gave them a 5* review for their food and stock. However their loyalty card system is annoying and concerning. You have to save your paper receipts (who does that in this technological age?) and carry multiple cards (worse than carrying a covid vaccine card around) to achieve a reward. It is outdated and useless. Worse is the paper litter around the area with cards and receipts blowing into the sea and peppering the landscaping. It is very sad to see. So please, update your rewards system to an online one so someone can actually be rewarded for their loyalty and more importantly to stop polluting our island with receipts and cards from your store. read more

We stopped here during a morning walk for a quick break and air conditioning and discovered it has so many great options. We ended up getting a whole breakfast here before continuing our walk. We ended up with Thai tea, Coconut Milk tea, a spam musubi, spam bacon and egg musubi, a chicken thigh and the Island Breakfast deluxe plate. The teas were so good and the service was amazing, Corrine was so friendly and definitely made our morning. The breakfast plate was average breakfast, but the chicken thigh was nice and crispy and tender and the musubi were average but very welcome. I loved that there was a spam, bacon and egg option- it's an easy on the go breakfast option. We sat outside and enjoyed everything and the pricing was great on everything too. This is a great stop for food for a group or a quick grab and go option before or during a busy day in Hawaii.
