Poke Bowl
Patrick L.

Good food at the resort, but service was a tad slow when there wasn't any line. Got two Poke bowls and a side order of fries. The fish and side greens are great, but the rice was mushy. As for the steak fries amazing flavor, texture, and size!

Just a heads up about the Family Dinner specials. It is awesome‼ We ordered the 2 person as didn't feel like going out and fighting the crowds and it was sooo delicious. The Hulu Hulu chicken and bbq Kahlua pork are amazing and roasted veggies with white rice and mixed greens were all wonderful and plenty of food for leftovers or 4 people. Highly recommend-this is the 2nd time ordering for us

Cheeseburger on brioche bun with a side of fruit

3.5 stars. I was surprised by the quality of our meal since this is essentially a small convenience store inside a resort. We ordered two burgers. They were grassfed meat (a plus!). My husband was not impressed because he felt like it was a reheated patty. I chose fruit for a side and hubby got chips. We both felt satisfied with plenty to eat. The downside was the price, both coming in at over $20. We could have gotten a similar meal with higher quality ingredients from Monkeypod a few miles away, but ultimately, we enjoyed the convenience of not having to leave the resort and being able to watch the sunset from our lanai as we ate.

Taste delicious Very convenient while staying at the Residence. The pool and restaurant is just next to each other. They have a lot of choices from the menu.

Mark and the staff working this morning were great! Super friendly and helpful. Went the extra mile for me! Thank you guys!

Egg, cheese, bacon, and sausage sandwich, warm. Enough to feed 2 if you are not a big breakfast person. It was pretty good for $11

Love the coffee. The Hawaiian coffee is a favorite of mine and my wife. The service is always great.

Food was underwhelming and service was lackluster. This hotel food is not a great example of what Maui has to offer

We ordered and the guy taking orders was super cool, great energy. Then the lady who was on drink duty was so incredibly rude it killed my vibe. We got a cold brew, a cola and a brewed coffee. I wasn't expecting the cold brew to have cream/milk in it so I politely said "Was this one the cold brew?" She snaps "No, that's the cold brew" and points to the cola. The she asks if my name is my name and says, "No that's the cola, that's the coffee and that's the so ono (cold brew)." So instead of simply confirming that I'm right, she killed my vibe on the whole experience. Foods good but fix the attitude of your employees or good food only gets you so far.

Don't panic, trust the process. The food is divine! Great portions and flavors. The chilaquiles with chorizo were a nice spicy. They do hit but they also have a nice chili flavor so it's not just heat. Loco moco was good. My only change would be to cook the patty a little more on the medium side rather than well done but none the less it was very good. French toast was amazing - no syrup needed!

We were there for happy hour, and had the following: Sweet potato taco - I've never had one in my 69 years, and it won't be my last. The texture of the purple chunks of sweet potato was different, but wonderful. Fish taco - the fish and slaw filling was superb Birria taco - my favorite, with moist birria meat that filled the tortilla Southwest salad - made with romaine (and not organic greens) was excellent. Order a side of dressing, and chicken to make it a full meal. The tacos are street-size but filling, and the beer is cold! Out the door (with tip) for $50, which is a real bargain in Maui. The server (Dan) was friendly, and quick to point out the 3 levels of heat with the hot sauce...the mango habanero should only be used by the adventurous... You're across the street from the water, but ask to be sat outside on the patio - a cool vibe

I'm from South East Asian descent (and we eat a lot of coconut in our food) and I lived in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Possibly my standards were higher. Fish tacos were standard with delicious pineapple slaw! I love how the fish isn't battered. Fried Brussels Caesar barely had any Brussels sprouts. The amount of Brussels felt like how much croutons were added to a salad. Coconut crusted mahi.... I really wanted to like it but couldn't understand why this would be so popular. It's definitely unique with coconut rice and shaved coconut. Maybe it needed more coconut? Got the toast for dessert, not bad! Coconut jam with is pretty good. Overall, this place isn't phenomenal as some reviews mention. They must have really delicious drinks with their coconut foam, we just had water. Service felt cringey and felt like he wanted to upsell us. He was around to check if we needed anything. Asked a weird question if we were from the Hyatt or Marriott, could have asked us where we were from. This would have been 3 stars however our kids loved having the keiki room, had a blast looking for toys. They had crayons, coloring paper, and a keiki menu as well. The keiki had toys that toddlers to10 years old were into.

Baby they put the "nom" in phenomenal!…read more The wait is ridiculous (line out the door). They need to expand but this review is in spite of that. The garlic shrimp dish?? So good! I smelled it before it was brought to the table! So succulent, so flavorful! Perfect combination with the rice and the salad and fruit! I haven't had anything on the island like this and I've been here a week! I had the pitaya smoothie and the taro bagel. Delicious and delicious. The taro bagel is also beautifully unique. I haven't seen anything like it yet which is weird because it tastes really good. Altogether, it was worth the wait and the hectic environment!

As someone who loves super sweet coffee drinks, I was surprised by just how sweet the drinks here…read morewere. Even for my taste, they were almost overwhelmingly sugary, to the point where I could barely taste the actual coffee. I don't mind a sweeter drink, but I still want to be able to taste the espresso and have some balance between the coffee and the other flavors. The frozen mocha was probably the best example of this. It tasted more like a chocolate milkshake than a coffee drink. It was rich, chocolatey, and definitely delicious if you're in the mood for something sweet, but I could barely taste any coffee in it. I'd consider getting it again as more of a dessert or sweet treat, but definitely not when I'm looking for a caffeine fix. I would have liked a stronger coffee flavor to balance out all the chocolate and sugar. The island latte was again very sweet, I liked the syrups they used but i wish there was a stronger coffee taste. Prices were also on the expensive side, almost $20 for 2 drinks. Parking was another downside, as it was pretty difficult to find a spot nearby. Overall, I'd say this place is better suited for people who enjoy dessert-like coffee drinks rather than those who want a good balance of sweetness and coffee flavor. If you have a serious sweet tooth, you might enjoy it, but even as someone who loves sweet coffee, these drinks were a little too much for me.

Want the luau food experience without paying for the actual luau show? This is a great option!…read more It's an outdoor restaurant, so definitely dress accordingly. If it's drizzling outside, you can bet you'll probably be drizzled on while eating your meal too! But the setting is beautiful, especially if you get a table around sunset--you can watch the sunset right from your seat. There are plenty of food options to choose from, along with lots of drink options. The restaurant sits right next to Old Lahaina Luau, so if you make a dinner reservation around luau time, you can even hear the luau going on next door. They had traditional Hawaiian food such as poi, lau lau, kalua, etc. Service was good as well. Overall, a fun way to enjoy some of the food and atmosphere without paying for the full luau experience!

Disappointing Experience - Overpriced for the Quality…read more I haven't been to Aloha Mixed Plate in years, and I was really looking forward to coming back. My family and I visit their sister restaurant, Star Noodle, quite often, so I was expecting the same level of quality. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. We visited today at 1:15 PM, and I have to say I left pretty disappointed. The shoyu chicken was dry, and the overall food quality just didn't match the price. For a family of five, our bill came out to $178, including soft drinks. That's a lot of money for a casual plate lunch experience. What was also disappointing was being told by our server that they do not offer a kamaʻāina discount. As a local, it's always nice when businesses recognize and support the community that supports them. I understand we live in a tourist destination, but the prices should still reflect the quality of the food and overall experience. Unfortunately, Aloha Mixed Plate felt more like an overpriced tourist spot than the local favorite I remembered. At these prices, I honestly wouldn't even recommend it to visitors. My recommendation? Save your money and head to Star Noodle instead. We go there often, and the quality and experience have been much more consistent. I really wanted to enjoy coming back, but sadly, this visit was a letdown. 3 stars.
