If you ever make it to Mauna Kea, Olivine is a must-visit. This place has everything going for it: incredible food, attentive and courteous wait staff, and a view that almost steals the show. The dishes are outstanding -- from the flavors to the presentation, everything feels carefully considered and high quality. But beyond the food, what really makes the experience memorable is the service. The wait staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and relaxed, which adds a lot to the overall vibe. Then there's the view. It's hard to overstate how much a beautiful setting can enhance a meal, and at Olivine the scenery is as good as the cuisine. Every visit feels like a special occasion. We go every time we are in Mauna Kea.

Pizza Margherita - very tasty, with a light, thin crust and a satisfying amount of cheese. I missed seeing their squash blossom or charcoal pizza. Wine bottle prices raise an eyebrow with *3 digits* being pretty common. But? Glad they offer better wines, because you have to splurge once in awhile. But huzzah! $18 for a nice pinot grigio is within reach. Oysters sounded amazing but at $36 for a half dozen, eeek! pass. Service was pleasant, even after I changed my drink order, but not really stellar. He did his job, all good. But no suggestions or check-in after food was dropped. Not a big deal but a noticeable difference in service. View was amazing, pleaseant breeze at 4 in the afternoon. I'd return for the ambiance and perhaps try a drink special.

For a restaurant inside the Grand Wailea, Olivine was a big disappointment. Service was the biggest letdown. One of the servers was outright rude to us for no reason, and the rest of the staff seemed disengaged -- not what you'd expect at a resort of this caliber. The food didn't redeem it either. The oysters were mediocre at best, the olive salad was poorly executed, and my sandwich/salad combo was flat-out bad. Nothing felt fresh or thoughtfully prepared. Between the subpar service and lackluster food, this was not the experience we expected. Will not return.

The hotel gave us a gift card to use at the restaurant during our stay. We sat by a window and had great views of the pool/ocean. The staff were super friendly. We got the panzanella caesar salad which was nothing special. The margherita pizza which was yummy. If you're a spice lover ask for the Calabrian chili oil- it added the perfect spice kick and flavor to the pizza.

It was so nice to relax and enjoy the ocean breeze and the lovely ambiance as we dined at Olivine. I am trying my best to stay away from meat, so I ordered the amazingly delicious Crispy Squash Blossoms. I would describe them as a beautifully delicate, crisp, aromatic dish with burrata, macadamia nut pesto, local hot honey, espelette pepper, and honeycomb. This appetizer was my favorite! I also enjoyed the Mushroom Cauliflower Bolognese, a richly savory, hearty, and wonderfully comforting plate of handmade orecchiette with cashew ricotta and parsley as my main course. I always appreciate and enjoy fresh pasta and veggies. Our server was very kind and attentive, the portion sizes were generous, and although the meal was a bit pricey, the quality and experience made it worthwhile.

We hit the jackpot with Richard as our server. Between Richard and the Fennel Sausage Pizza we had a near-perfect night! Loved our evening at Olivine. We had a beautiful table at sunset near the window. We started with drinks and a salad. Richard made excellent recommendations and really shared his thoughts behind the creation and flavors of each dish. You can tell he's very passionate and excited about the menu and food offerings. We ordered a salad, two pizzas, a fish entree, a pasta, and a dessert. It doesn't sound like tons, but it was a lot of food. The Fennel Sausage Pizza was my favorite - the humbolt fog was perfect on the pizza. The dessert - a flourless chocolate mousse cake was delicious. Compared to other pricing at the hotel, I really felt like the menu was well-priced and not overly expensive. Excellent service, beautiful restaurant, and delicious food!

The food here is delicious. My bf and I utilized both their pool services and went here for dinner and honestly, their pool menu was better than their dinner in my opinion. During our stay, we tried the charcoal pizza, margarita, and squash blossom pizza and honestly, some of the best pizza I've had. Their dough is incredible. Their hummus was also delicious and one of my favorite snacks from the island AND very generous with their portion. It was served with pizza bread and the hummus was h the perfect creamy texture. Dinner was just okay. I got the wagyu bolognese and couldn't eat it because it was so salty but the server did a great job handing it and letting me order something else instead (another pizza of course). The brussel sprouts were also delicious! I love that the atmosphere is more laid back and you have some great views of the sunset.

My lunch here was one of the highlights of our trip. Wandered in after walking along the beach path hot and hungry. We got a great table by the window. Everything I ate was outstanding. Loved the hummus starter with fresh veggies - and the macadamia pesto pizza with mushrooms was unbelievably good. Would eat that every day!

I went here for my final night on Maui, and this meal was absolute perfection. We had the burrata caprese for our appartizer, and shared the lobster pizza (on charcoal crust) and the Wagyu bolognese for our entrees. The ambience was great, not very loud. The wait staff we had were excellent and provided great recommendations. This will definitely be on my list to visit again!

We ate lunch here twice. And because the Fresh Catch Sandwich was SO ONO... we got it both times. The fish was fresh and tender. The bun was melt in your mouth. The chips were super light and crisp with the perfect amount of salt. We sat at the bar both times too since it was easy, open and had TVs showing Football. Both of us (my husband and I) enjoy watching football so it made the most sense for us to sit at the bar. Plus, I like watching the Bartenders in action. Service is very good. The bartenders work as a team and are good at making sure everyone at the bar is take care of while they manage the dining room drink tickets. The kitchen runs your food out directly to you at the bar. We really didn't have to wait long either time for our food. The dining room area has large open windows so the entire restaurant feels like it's outside, but not. The bar is pretty spacious... I think it seats like 20 or so. Olivine also services the Hibiscus Pool which is just steps away.

In all honesty, my family was a little bit disappointed in Olivine. We booked it, excited for a nice meal and were thrown off. The service was fine, but the food lacked - the bolognese had limited flavor and the noodles were undercooked, the chicken piccata was extremely salty, the special of the day was overpowered by the onion. For the price you are paying, I would expect more.

    Gerald H.

I believe this was our first dinner while staying on the property. Italian billed place - we had reservations and showed up prompt. Sat next to the window, which overlooks several pools and outdoor areas. We started off with the caprese salad and for me an old fashioned drink. The salad was interesting - burrata on the bottom of the plate with lettuce on top. Good taste but a little clumsy in terms of execution. For the table we shared a charcoal activated margherita pizza. The charcoal meant that the dough was black which looked odd, but tasted exactly like a regular pizza. The toppings were good and it was easy to eat. For an entree, I ordered the cacio e pepe - which came with a thicker noodles and the sauce was very creamy along with the peppery tones. As a dessert I ordered the panna cotta which was nothing like I expected or desired. Meh.

Pasta - asked for Al dente and it came out good

Dinner is too pricy. Recommend for lunch or before dinner Located right by the adult pool. Enjoyed the view.

For lunch on this day I went with the chicken pesto panini while my father went with a hot dog with mustard and sauerkraut. The menu described my sandwich as chicken breast, sun dried tomato, toasted pine nuts, provolone, and pesto spread, and my father's simply as sauerkraut and mustard. It was busy when we were there, so it took about 10 minutes to order and another 15 minutes for the food to come out. Since we ordered separately, my food came out first and even though I planned to wait, I had enough time to eat it while waiting for my dad's. The chicken pesto panini ended up being quite good. The chicken was moist and flavorful and there was more than enough cheese. The sun dried tomatoes added a nice pop of flavor, although I wish there had been more. My favorite part was the pesto spread and pine nuts, especially the garlicky flavor from the pesto. My dad also thought his hot dog was good. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I enjoyed my sandwich and my dad enjoyed his hot dog, so I would be interested in trying more of the menu.

Charging $17 for a burger and then an additional $5 just to add lettuce and tomato feels like nickel-and-diming customers. At that point, just price the burger at $22 and be upfront about it--it's a much better experience than feeling upcharged for basic toppings. As we waited for our food to be ready, we noticed an area with non-food items for sale including glass cup, a shirt, a graphic similar to the on in the restaurant sitting area, and silverware. The nozzarella sticks were crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside and served with a side of marinara sauce. Considering we were crunched for time, we took our food to go and similar to our first visit, the food was phenomenal. The chicken gyro was flavorful with several sauces and the onion rings were perfectly crunchy on the outside and the sauces Josh provided were creamy. Hubby's mind was blown away by the presentation of the avo toastie (he said this avocado toast was the best her ever had) and despite not being a big eater of sweets, he thoroughly enjoyed the crème brûlée which was soft and sweet. Given Josh's positive energy as well as creative and delicious food, if you are vegan, vegetarian, or veg-curious, I suggest you walk, not run to Earth Aloha Eats.

Not enough room for a large group. Food- we probably tried half the menu! Loaded fries are so good, two meals worth. Burgers are delish. Falafel isn't traditional but tastes made in house and hearty. The kids loved the bowls and tacos. Everything is gooooood.

This was by far the best meal we had in Maui! We had read some ratings online and tried to find…read morethis place but had a hard time because Google Maps was not very helpful. I called and asked them for directions and they actually guided us. They were also really patient in explaining the menu to us and explaining the different types of fish and what not. Really glad we were patient and actually came here! Such a lovely aesthetic to the whole area and the food. Oh my goodness!!! The burst of flavor in everything was phenomenal! Such unique combinations and everything was so fresh and cooked so well and just mind blowing! Husband and I kept saying how we should have just gone there multiple times for food! Mahi Mahi Bento bowl with Ono instead. (It has Crispy Sushi Rice / Black Garlic / Market Vegetables) I really have no words to see how good this combination was! I was actually a little full going into dinner but ended up actually wiping this whole plate clean! The food was that good! Husband got the Roasted Organic Chicken With Coconut with Coconut Carrot Curry and Roasted Vegetables. Very different vibe from my item but also really delicious. Heat thoroughly enjoyed this one! The chicken was perfectly cooked and the carrot coconut curry combination with the vegetables and the chicken was lovely. He kept some leftovers for the next day because the chicken portion size was quite huge and we enjoyed it even the next day! Seaweed salad was also delicious! Super fresh and tasty!

I'm not sure I've had, or will have, a better meal on Maui. It was named one of the top local spots last year, and that recognition feels completely deserved. Set at the far end of South Maui Gardens, the outdoor seating gives it a relaxed but special ambiance. For our 30th anniversary, my wife and I shared the smoked tomahawk steak family-style, along with black garlic roasted rice, pickled carrots and onions, and a roasted vegetable medley with a beautiful spice mix. Every bite was outstanding -- perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and clearly crafted with intention. We finished with the lilikoi meringue pie, which was just as impressive and a perfect way to end the meal. Maui has some incredible dining experiences, and Kitoko stands comfortably among the very best -- food truck or not. If you're looking for a truly memorable dinner on the island, don't miss this one.
