    Bulgogi Bowl
    Dean L.

First Friday Wailuku is a happening thing. Lots of vendors prepare for the onslaught of hungry hordes on closed North Market street. Garlic Noodles, Queso Birria Tacos, Pad Thai, Smash Burgers are all available. But, it's hard to pass by the aroma of grilled meats so K-Bap it is. It's a two woman operation so be patient. Place your order at the white truck and wait for a few minutes until your name is being yelled over live music. Pork Belly and Beef Bulgogi plates are ample, tasty and reasonable. They are garnished simply on steamed rice and Mac salad, but I missed me some Kim chee. The pork belly slices are tender, unctuous and plentiful. Too much actually. Beef bulgogi was marinated sautéed and mixed with glass noodles. No frills but great flavors. Don't try ordering Kipbap sushi rolls though or the folks waiting in line will murder you with their eyes.

You travel thousands of miles to a beautiful tropical island to partake of the Sun, surf and local cuisine and your most memorable meal is under a giant tree eating Bulgogi from a food truck in Wailuku. Don't get me wrong. Mama's Fish house, Star Noodles, Paia Fish Market all serve up great meals but this unassuming little truck knocked my flip flops right off. My wife and I are fans of Korean food. Back home in California we frequent all the big and little joints but none compared to this. Wailuku is a little town you probably pass by on your way to the airport or the Cruise dock so we weren't looking for anything special. Just something to nibble on before we head back to Kaanapali. We found this little food truck lot and thought we'd give it a try. BTW also a teriyaki and a Mexican fusion truck on the lot. I always order Bulgogi so it immediately caught my eye. My wife gets the Bibimbap. The flavors were perfectly balanced. Of course I got it with an egg on top so when you mix it up you get that egg coating all the goodness. Every spoonful was a joy. My wife's Bibimbop I assume was good since she didn't share any. Now our trips to Maui will always include a side trip to Wailuku. Stop by after hiking up the Iao Valley. Definitely Recommended

Small little food truck in Wailuku near the County buildings. They have a good spicy pork and kimbap at reasonable prices. The ladies manning the station are always friendly and accommodating. I'd recommend everything except the buldak chicken. I was not a fan since it was a bit dry, too much cheese (I know, never too much cheese) and kind of bland. They take CC and lots of parking, especially with the structure now open for business.

This newish food truck opened up earlier this year in Wailuku Town under the banyan tree courtyard area across of HI Thai Maui. My fellow Yelp Elite, Traci C. thankfully put K-bap on my radar with her review. I was very excited to discover a new option for Korean eats here on Maui especially when I spotted buldak chicken on the menu! WHAAAT. No one else has done this dish on Maui yet (as far as i know) and made it a point to visit the truck as soon as I had the opportunity. "Bul" means fire and "dak" means chicken, so fire chicken = spicy chicken that is smothered in mozzarella cheese. You can pick your own spice level and the mild is pretty mild, but medium was just the right amount of spice for me (I don't have a great tolerance for spicy food). The chicken was tender and the rice was perfectly cooked. This is it, guys! This is it. Don't knock it until you try it! I've gone back a few times just for the buldak chicken, but I've also tried their bulgogi kimbap. It's lean on the meat, but full of veggies and even comes with a thousand island dressing dip which actually goes pretty well together. This is a great 'healthy option' that is lighter on the stomach. They also offer other Korean dishes like bibimbap, kimchi fried rice, and have an affordable breakfast bento option. Overall, I think this a great addition to the Maui food scene!

Fabulous! Idk where else on Maui to get this food. We loved our bulgogi kimbop and kim chi musubi. It was our pick for dinner at first friday and we were not disappointed:)

This has become our favorite Korean food truck. Everything is fresh, flavorful and tastes homemade. The kids are a fan of the bulgogi beef with rice and kim chee. The meat is juicy and tender. The kim chee is the right amount of heat. My husband and I split the bi bim bap and buldak chicken or buldak spicy pork. The bi bim bap is perfectly balanced with thin slices of beef, variety of fresh veggies, with a fried egg on rice. Great texture with crunchiness of the vegetables and topped with ssamjang sauce. The buldak chicken or spicy pork is smothered in melted mozzarella cheese and served with broccoli or corn over rice. Perfectly seasoned and creamy. Very happy with what we order and looking forwarded to trying other items on their menu.

I decided to give this new Korean food truck a try while I was in Wailuku for a meeting. It's located on the corner of Vineyard and Market near the Hi Thai food truck (another great food truck). I ordered the BBQ beef kimbob rolls and mandoo. The kimbob rolls are really good! So fresh and yummy. I think the mandoo is homemade! They are big and so flavorful. I'm so happy there's another option for great Korean food in Wailuku!

Yummy plates like kimbap + kimchee pancakes. Aunties inside super friendly! Mahalo nui loa.

    Bulgolgi Kimbap

Decided to try this food truck for the first time. I wasn't too hungry so I only got the bulgolgi kimbap. It was light and delicious to eat. I wish it had more sauce, but other than that it was satisfying. I definitely will try to go back to try their other items. The lady at the window was polite and sweet. The food truck is located in a small food truck lot on Market street. There are some benches to sit on and 2 more other food trucks in the same lot. Nice for a little picnic outdoors if you've been stuck in cold AC all day.

My husband and I were so happy to see a Korean food truck in the Wailuku area! Hours are 11:00am - 6:30 pm. Food: So yummy! The bulgogi kimbap comes with 12 pieces and with how big & tasty it is, it really is a great deal for $7.50! It also comes with a yummy dipping sauce! The bibimbap would have to be my favorite one amongst the ones I've tried from other places. I love that they add alfalfa sprouts! It really compliments all the other flavors of the bibimbap. The bulgogi plate comes with rice and daikon. If you like sweet and saucy pork, this is for you! Next time, we hope to try the other items on their menu like their kimchee fried rice & Korean pancake! Service: We placed our order on the phone & the lady was very sweet and helpful when we were ordering. When I got there to pick up, the two ladies were sweet and welcoming! Area: They are on Wailuku's Main Street, near the big tree. A Thai food truck is also in that area. I think there are 1-2 picnic tables if you want to eat there.

Never tried cold noodle soup but that tricked my mind like crazy. The broth looked clear and flavorless but it was so delicious. I really enjoyed that with the chewy noodles. The La Kalbi made me see the birth of the universe. That thing was ridiculous. I'm still dreaming about it. I've never had Kalbi so soft and disintegrated before even chewing. We also tried the vegetable stir-fry with shrimp because my wife wanted to balance out all the meats but I'm not a vegetable guy. It was still tasty. The reason for coming was to try the tofu soup but we didn't even try that so we'll have to come back. My dining companions devoured the meat dishes and we all slurped the spicy soondobu with spoonfuls of rice to cool it down. Note our table of four shared the three bowls of rice that came with the dishes but if you want more, you need to order the extra. The delicious meal concluded with a carafe of cold barley tea, which one person in our group commented that it tasted like coffee. I did a search on Instagram and came across this business Ohana Karaoke Cafe & Grill, for Korean foods. This is all for my other half since he is a meat Jun Snob, he loves his meat jun so I decided to check out this business for our 2nd lunch. Nice idea, Karaoke and Korean foods, great combination! There are tables for dining and about 3 Karaoke rooms ( small, medium, & large) Connie (owner) greeted us and took our order. She was super friendly, usually at the restaurants here on Koreamouku, I have to be extra nice so they can be more friendlier. *note, no complimentary water here at all, you can bring your own or purchase the water here. Our orders were the meat jun and fish jun combo ($19.) and it has been a long time since I last had my Korean noods, got the ramen noodles with dumplings ( $10.) Big portions, everything was enough for 2 even came home with leftover jun. So the verdict and I ask the other half, so Mr. Meat Jun Snob what is the ratings, he said "7/10 and the fish jun makes up for it". hehe. Even though I can fancy up my Korean ramen better with the fixings, the noods was a great fix, There were 5 ban chan, zuchini and broccoli was too salty but enjoyed kim chee and sprouts. It was one or two workers running back and forth to fulfill all the orders. One of the auntie's at the restaurant advised us to just take a seat anywhere and that's what we did. The chairs are a bit high, so we weren't seen right away, but once they saw us they got us a menu, water and asked us what we wanted. We chose from the menu: soondubu, kimchi jeon, and kalbi (which we didn't get but I'm sure they were overwhelmed and didn't notice since there was a big party). Just by observing the place and the orders placed by the bigger party, if you look around the restaurant there are other food items that you can order. We didn't know and just stuck to the menu, lol but a note for next time! Again, the seats are very high so we were waiting for our food for quite a while. But once they noticed that we didn't have our food, they apologized and got our food right away! First came the banchans, I really enjoyed them! My favorite was the fishcake and radish kimchi. Kimchi pancake had other vegetables mixed in, not just kimchi. I wasn't expecting the other veggies, but it was good nonetheless. Then the grill and meats came. It is a portable grill and each table has an extension cord to plug the grills in. Once the uncle came to our table, he got us started with the grill and meats and cooked for us a bit! The attentiveness and effort was there and we really appreciated that. We then got our soondubu. It was very warm, refreshing and not too spicy. Our once empty table was now filled with banchans, sauces, meats, and lettuce! Once all our food came, the nice auntie came over and apologized again for the long wait for our food. She had said she would give us the kimchi jeon as a "service" which kinda means "it's on the house" as an apology. We understood the busyness with the restaurant and short staffed workers, but we're grateful for the effort and attention they had once they realized. Overall we enjoyed our experience here at O BBQ! We left full and satisfied, but not over bloated! I know Oahu has all you can eat KBBQ, but all you need is some good food, good meats and good company to enjoy KBBQ on Maui! We are glad we chose to dine in and try this new spot on Maui. We'll be coming back again!

The Japanese rice was carb heavy, just how I love it. The potato salad was good, although I typically crave a macaroni salad with my Hawaiian plated food. There was a huge line when I arrived, and I was afraid, very afraid. However, it was a bunch of people standing around who had already ordered (another sometimes bad sign). But, I actually ordered without any line, and those people quickly dissipated. My food probably came within 10 mins. In that 10 mins, we ate the poke first, then got our Ichiban order quickly after. The two restaurants are so close together by driving, that I would highly recommend pairing the two restaurants together, if you want to share food items, and try different Hawaiian things, without making an extra trek. Went for lunch - would recommend their oxtail katsu and kulolo crunch for dessert. Great place for a quick lunch or dinner.

So I have been eating at OGO Since they were a lunch truck in Wailuku. Then when they moved…read moreupstairs from the bar in Wailuku and now in the new location. I like the new location definitely easier for people to get to as the last location was upstairs with no elevator. One thing that has not changed is the food is still just as good if not even better than before. On this trip we had the Lunch Special which was the Waygu loco moco that came with white rice and Mac salad and two eggs over easy. The Wagyu burgers were perfect not over seasoned and the eggs were perfectly cooked. Still runny on the inside. I had the mis fish which was an ahi today. I liked the fact that the Miso was not overwhelming they got them mix perfect and the broccoli was perfectly cooked and it came with a scoop of white rice. Everything was perfectly done and just the right amount of food. The price is still reasonable for the quality of the food you are getting and the service was great even though there was only one waitress and she was doing double duty as hostess. She was very pleasant and the service is some of the best I have had on Maui. I like how the new place has a nice local feel while having that new but welcoming aura. I will definitely be going back because I like to support local and these guys are making some great food for reasonable prices. I definitely recommend these guys and I will definitely be going back. So much more menu items to try.
