    Bulgogi Bowl
    Dean L.

First Friday Wailuku is a happening thing. Lots of vendors prepare for the onslaught of hungry hordes on closed North Market street. Garlic Noodles, Queso Birria Tacos, Pad Thai, Smash Burgers are all available. But, it's hard to pass by the aroma of grilled meats so K-Bap it is. It's a two woman operation so be patient. Place your order at the white truck and wait for a few minutes until your name is being yelled over live music. Pork Belly and Beef Bulgogi plates are ample, tasty and reasonable. They are garnished simply on steamed rice and Mac salad, but I missed me some Kim chee. The pork belly slices are tender, unctuous and plentiful. Too much actually. Beef bulgogi was marinated sautéed and mixed with glass noodles. No frills but great flavors. Don't try ordering Kipbap sushi rolls though or the folks waiting in line will murder you with their eyes.

You travel thousands of miles to a beautiful tropical island to partake of the Sun, surf and local cuisine and your most memorable meal is under a giant tree eating Bulgogi from a food truck in Wailuku. Don't get me wrong. Mama's Fish house, Star Noodles, Paia Fish Market all serve up great meals but this unassuming little truck knocked my flip flops right off. My wife and I are fans of Korean food. Back home in California we frequent all the big and little joints but none compared to this. Wailuku is a little town you probably pass by on your way to the airport or the Cruise dock so we weren't looking for anything special. Just something to nibble on before we head back to Kaanapali. We found this little food truck lot and thought we'd give it a try. BTW also a teriyaki and a Mexican fusion truck on the lot. I always order Bulgogi so it immediately caught my eye. My wife gets the Bibimbap. The flavors were perfectly balanced. Of course I got it with an egg on top so when you mix it up you get that egg coating all the goodness. Every spoonful was a joy. My wife's Bibimbop I assume was good since she didn't share any. Now our trips to Maui will always include a side trip to Wailuku. Stop by after hiking up the Iao Valley. Definitely Recommended

Bulgogi kimbap\gimbap ($7 I believe) I'm not sure what this sauce is, but it taste like a sriracha (not hot) French dressing sauce

Small little food truck in Wailuku near the County buildings. They have a good spicy pork and kimbap at reasonable prices. The ladies manning the station are always friendly and accommodating. I'd recommend everything except the buldak chicken. I was not a fan since it was a bit dry, too much cheese (I know, never too much cheese) and kind of bland. They take CC and lots of parking, especially with the structure now open for business.

This newish food truck opened up earlier this year in Wailuku Town under the banyan tree courtyard area across of HI Thai Maui. My fellow Yelp Elite, Traci C. thankfully put K-bap on my radar with her review. I was very excited to discover a new option for Korean eats here on Maui especially when I spotted buldak chicken on the menu! WHAAAT. No one else has done this dish on Maui yet (as far as i know) and made it a point to visit the truck as soon as I had the opportunity. "Bul" means fire and "dak" means chicken, so fire chicken = spicy chicken that is smothered in mozzarella cheese. You can pick your own spice level and the mild is pretty mild, but medium was just the right amount of spice for me (I don't have a great tolerance for spicy food). The chicken was tender and the rice was perfectly cooked. This is it, guys! This is it. Don't knock it until you try it! I've gone back a few times just for the buldak chicken, but I've also tried their bulgogi kimbap. It's lean on the meat, but full of veggies and even comes with a thousand island dressing dip which actually goes pretty well together. This is a great 'healthy option' that is lighter on the stomach. They also offer other Korean dishes like bibimbap, kimchi fried rice, and have an affordable breakfast bento option. Overall, I think this a great addition to the Maui food scene!

Fabulous! Idk where else on Maui to get this food. We loved our bulgogi kimbop and kim chi musubi. It was our pick for dinner at first friday and we were not disappointed:)

This has become our favorite Korean food truck. Everything is fresh, flavorful and tastes homemade. The kids are a fan of the bulgogi beef with rice and kim chee. The meat is juicy and tender. The kim chee is the right amount of heat. My husband and I split the bi bim bap and buldak chicken or buldak spicy pork. The bi bim bap is perfectly balanced with thin slices of beef, variety of fresh veggies, with a fried egg on rice. Great texture with crunchiness of the vegetables and topped with ssamjang sauce. The buldak chicken or spicy pork is smothered in melted mozzarella cheese and served with broccoli or corn over rice. Perfectly seasoned and creamy. Very happy with what we order and looking forwarded to trying other items on their menu.

I decided to give this new Korean food truck a try while I was in Wailuku for a meeting. It's located on the corner of Vineyard and Market near the Hi Thai food truck (another great food truck). I ordered the BBQ beef kimbob rolls and mandoo. The kimbob rolls are really good! So fresh and yummy. I think the mandoo is homemade! They are big and so flavorful. I'm so happy there's another option for great Korean food in Wailuku!

Yummy plates like kimbap + kimchee pancakes. Aunties inside super friendly! Mahalo nui loa.

    Bulgolgi Kimbap

Decided to try this food truck for the first time. I wasn't too hungry so I only got the bulgolgi kimbap. It was light and delicious to eat. I wish it had more sauce, but other than that it was satisfying. I definitely will try to go back to try their other items. The lady at the window was polite and sweet. The food truck is located in a small food truck lot on Market street. There are some benches to sit on and 2 more other food trucks in the same lot. Nice for a little picnic outdoors if you've been stuck in cold AC all day.

My husband and I were so happy to see a Korean food truck in the Wailuku area! Hours are 11:00am - 6:30 pm. Food: So yummy! The bulgogi kimbap comes with 12 pieces and with how big & tasty it is, it really is a great deal for $7.50! It also comes with a yummy dipping sauce! The bibimbap would have to be my favorite one amongst the ones I've tried from other places. I love that they add alfalfa sprouts! It really compliments all the other flavors of the bibimbap. The bulgogi plate comes with rice and daikon. If you like sweet and saucy pork, this is for you! Next time, we hope to try the other items on their menu like their kimchee fried rice & Korean pancake! Service: We placed our order on the phone & the lady was very sweet and helpful when we were ordering. When I got there to pick up, the two ladies were sweet and welcoming! Area: They are on Wailuku's Main Street, near the big tree. A Thai food truck is also in that area. I think there are 1-2 picnic tables if you want to eat there.

BEST FILIPINO FOOD ON THE ISLAND!…read more During my 1 week stay at Maui I probably came here about 5 times. I went here right after getting off the airport to get some quick comfort food before checking in to my stay in Kīhei and Tagpuan happened to be on the way. I ordered the chicken Inasal and pork lumpia and from those two simple dishes I could tell that this place was legit. IMO that inasal's definitely better than Mang Inasal back in PI and much better than the Inasal I've had in the Bay Area so hopefully that hypes it up enough. Kept coming back almost every single day till I left to go back to the mainland. In that time I also had the grilled liempo (pork belly), crispy pork belly, and longanisa sliders - all excellent dishes. Really love the sauce selections they use for their dishes too - pretty good balance of acid to cut the fat making the dishes feel not too heavy. The food truck is currently nestled in what seems to be an auto shop lot. There's a nice clean bathroom access via the auto shop near the food truck itself. Lots of parking, a few benches to eat at, and of course, really good food. The couple that run Tagpuan are incredibly kind and hard working people. Would highly recommend - not only to support a local business owner (who's from Lāhainā) but because they serve genuinely good and authentic Filipino food.

This food truck is inside a small lot with gravel around a couple benches and chairs. It's across from car wash so you'll hear their loud air drying machines but after awhile it's just background noise and doesn't bother us. Plus they play some nice music on a small speaker at the truck. We ordered the Ahi Poke Nachos and this dethroned our previous favorite from another spot down the road. It is a bit spicy so just be aware. So worth it. Lots of flavor and plenty poke to chip ratio. We also ordered the chicken Inasal since our kid would eat it. She's picky but ate plenty chicken. It has a very nice charred smoky flavor and still super tender and moist. We need to try the other items for sure so we will 100% be back. We got to meet the owners Rocky and Maine? They were super nice and took the time to explain that their name Tagpuan means "meeting place" for those who are not Filipino. They have a build-your-own-combo grindz menu that you can pick a couple of proteins with rice options or check out the picture menu if you really don't know what to get. My wife went for the combo of Pork Adobo & Garlic Butter Shrimp with Mac & Green Salad, both very flavorful choices. Her friend went double pork action with Chinese Roast Pork Belly & Calamansi Grilled Pork Belly and Pancit Bihon Noodles as her side. The Chinese roast pork belly was as crispy good as any I've seen in any Chinatown. My Seafood Trio had a Miso Glazed Salmon Fillet, 3 Baked Mussels, 2 Shrimp Tempura and topped with Kaboyaki sauce & Thai Chili Aioli. The Shrimp were not the typical panko coated but battered and tasted good drizzled with the 2 sauces. The mussels are topped with a heavy cheesy mayo sauce and baked. Of course, it wouldn't be a Hawaiian plate lunch without a scoop of white rice and a scoop of mac salad. All this wasn't enough and our friend went back to chat with the chef and came back with a double serving of banana lumpia in crunchy spring roll wrap and drenched in heavy syrup. This was an excellent dessert and wrap up to a great lunch. We were so stuffed, we had to skip dinner!
