Crispy Pork Belly Loco Moco
Emily Y.

It's real hard to find Filipino food where I live so we had to get some food here. I had the grilled pompano, which took a while because they grilled it to order, but MAN it was SO GOOD. Flakey and crispy with that addicting smokey grill flavor. Paired with the fresh tomato and onion, it was a cycle of delicious-ness. Bite of grilled fish, bite of fresh tomato/onion, rinse & repeat. Add in a bite of rice to reset. My aunt got the crispy pork belly loco moco. The gravy goes real well with the lechon kawali, but it IS a really heavy meal. She was only able to eat about 1/3 of the plate, so it's great if you want leftovers! The Simply Local shop next door is a nice place to kill time while you wait for your food.

Banana lumpia

Found these guys on yelp in anticipation of a tasty treat $6 for 4 pieces I bought 2 orders. Looked good but ate 2 lumpia and threw the rest away. Either they use green banana and try to add sweetness with the sauce but the banana itself was bland with no taste. Disappointed and lost $12 most diff won't go back.

Came here for some skewers and a sausage plate. The sausage plate was rice and sausages, so saying it's a plate was a little generous. That being said, the sausages were a bit flavorless. Wouldn't recommend. Also got some skewers. They are all sauced and flavored the same. Got the pork, pork intestine, pig ears. The pig ears were my favorite and it had some crunch in the ear but still had that gelatinous feeling from the skin. The intestine was good too. Weirdly enough this had too much sauce imo. Place has potential but I don't think I'll be back

So glad this place re-opened after the fire. The food is just as good as I remembered it. Crispy pork belly with tomatoes and onions, rice and soy sauce. Perfection.

Kusina Ni Jayboy is the place that I would go when they used to be in Lahaina and just happy that they're in Kahului. This place is located by Bank of Hawaii in Kahului area. This place makes it more special because Westside Boba I'd next to it. The bbq just cooked so good and it makes it more yummy with the sauce. I like their Chicharon with tomatoes and onions that one is the bomb! The cashier is nice and just know her menu.

WOW! The pork belly is AMAZING. It was crispy and flavorful! The tomatoes and onions were so fresh. Such a solid spot for Filipino food!

So Good!! I had the fried pork belly (lechon kawali) with tomatoes & onions. Will definitely come back here again next time I'm in Maui.

Visiting the island of Maui from Glendale, AZ for my 50th birthday and wanted to make sure to get some fried pork belly! Read a couple reviews and saw that the pork belly sells out quickly, so I made a call to preorder before the drive from Kaanapali to Lahaina! Not knowing what to expect, I plugged in the address in the GPS to find a food truck park and the aromas were wafting and beckoning! I kept the box closed until I got back to the resort in Kaanapali and opened it to find delight! Every bite was orgasmic! The only picture I got of the food was when I first opened the box! I completely devoured everything and taking pictures was the last thing on my mind! Oh how I will dream of this place until I return! For those lucky enough to visit Maui before I do, please treat yourself to the fried pork belly (lechon kawali)!

Friendly service from this truck! Got the pork belly which for the majority was crispy and juicy. Sauce was sweet and the flavours all mixed well. Decent portion of meat, though it was a lot less in the beginning but it ended up as a good portion for the price

Stumbled upon this food truck and was intrigued by their menu. We ordered the crispy pork belly with white rice with tomatoes & onions, bbq pork skewers, and the bangus sinigang (sweet & sour soup with a whole milkfish and rice on the side). We loved every single bite of all three dishes! Absolutely flavorful and delicious. There was a bit of a wait for our food even though there was no one ahead of us, but we appreciated that the food was made fresh. This was one of our favorite meals here in Maui. Very friendly staff and very clean tables.

BBQ Pork. Yes!

I've always wanted to eat where the locals eat in Maui, so I found this Filipino food truck nearby. Only an 8 minute walk away. It was soooo good! The Crispy Pork Belly with tomatoes, onions, and fried rice with vinegar soy sauce and banana sauce was superb! Pork Barbecue on skewers and rice were very tasty. Beef Tapa with fried rice, a bit salty for me but my husband loved it. The Vegetable Lumpias were awesome! So hot and crispy. As Gen. McArthur said, "I shall return". The fam said excellent choice for lunch!

I was drawn here by the stellar yelp reviews and hopes of a filling and tasty meal. I ordered the crispy pork belly with tomatoes and onions, but unfortunately, they had already sold out for the day when I ordered at 1:45 pm. I asked the cashier for her recommendation and she suggested the beef steak, which she said is their second most popular dish. The food took about 20 minutes to come out, even though there was only one person ahead of me when I arrived. The food tasted fresh and was hot when I got it. It was tasty, but when I ordered it, i didn't realize it would just be beef with a few onions. It was tasty, but next time, I would probably order something different to get more variety of flavor.

Crispy pork belly with fried rice (+$2 for fried rice).

This place is probably the most authentic Filipino food in the area. I ordered the crispy pork belly with fried rice and it was AMAZING. Blown away. The pork belly was cooked perfectly -- juicy, tender, and crispy. It was covered with fresh tomatoes and onion which matched well with the rice and meat. The portions were enough to split into two meals. Be sure to call to place your order in advance or else you'll be out waiting with the hot sun with the hungry chickens and roosters. Be sure to bring cash! They take venmo as well.

Are the hours on the yelp page not accurate? I stopped by at 6:50pm on Monday 5/20 and the food truck was closed.

The hours posted are correct. We were just there on Friday and Sunday. They probably closed early yesterday cause there's not a lot of foot traffic in that area due to an accident that closed the road in Lahaina

It was a short 5 min hop over from the airport to Da Tambayan Corner and parking in the adjacent lot was easy. All the food trucks are ringed around the central tables and look for the aquamarine Da Soriano truck over by the road. Their food style is Filipino with a Hawaiian twist if you hadn't discerned it from their name. They have a build-your-own-combo grindz menu that you can pick a couple of proteins with rice options or check out the picture menu if you really don't know what to get. My wife went for the combo of Pork Adobo & Garlic Butter Shrimp with Mac & Green Salad, both very flavorful choices. Her friend went double pork action with Chinese Roast Pork Belly & Calamansi Grilled Pork Belly and Pancit Bihon Noodles as her side. The Chinese roast pork belly was as crispy good as any I've seen in any Chinatown. My Seafood Trio had a Miso Glazed Salmon Fillet, 3 Baked Mussels, 2 Shrimp Tempura and topped with Kaboyaki sauce & Thai Chili Aioli. The Shrimp were not the typical panko coated but battered and tasted good drizzled with the 2 sauces. The mussels are topped with a heavy cheesy mayo sauce and baked. Of course, it wouldn't be a Hawaiian plate lunch without a scoop of white rice and a scoop of mac salad. All this wasn't enough and our friend went back to chat with the chef and came back with a double serving of banana lumpia in crunchy spring roll wrap and drenched in heavy syrup. This was an excellent dessert and wrap up to a great lunch. We were so stuffed, we had to skip dinner!

Peeked their Instagram and saw a corned beef and egg grilled cheese sandwich. Say what? Less than 5 minutes later I was texting my order in. Unfortunately, no one actually ever answered my text (please don't tell people to text if you don't reply). Being impatient, I said screw it and just drove myself there to check. They are located in Kahului Industrial in the Ferguson's parking lot, across the way from Lee Bear's. It's a really, really random spot and parking could be a challenge if it gets busy. If it's slow, you could park right in front of the trailer. The family that runs this food trailer is born and raised in Guam and their menu features Chamorro cuisine like arrozcaldo, corn soup, etc. It didn't seem like it to me at first because everything was so so familiar to me, but my friend who was raised in Guam reminded me of how it's heavily Filipino influenced and mentioned that the grilled cheese sandwich was her childhood growing-up. No wonder (I'm Filipino)... Anywho, got my corned beef and egg grilled cheese sandwich! The corned beef isn't like your St. Patty's day corned beef, but more like the Palm brand canned corned beef. The bread was also slightly sweet and was the perfect vessel for all this deliciousness. The sandwich was so tasty and had the perfect amount of meat and cheese. Definitely a great way to start my morning and can't wait to have it again. My friend also recommended trying their corn soup & their red rice whenever it's available. Will definitely try those in the future too.

We have tried quite a few of the trucks and there were long lines and I was hungry so we drifted over to Kaipo's as they didn't have much of a line. Staff were ready for a laugh with us and we ordered the Shrimp Dynamite and the Rib Eye. They were quick to cook em up, just long enough for us to buy some pineapple lemonade from the stand next door (Wailemi). The food was MOUTH WATERINGLY GOOD. I cannot understand how they didn't have a long line!! People are missing out here! My Shrimp Dynamite was served in a small container, full of melty mushroomy goodness, with crunchy courgette, shrimp cooked to perfection and a creamy sauce on top. It wasn't as hot as I like, but I only deem something spicy when I can't feel the front of my face and steam is coming out of my ears so perhaps it is spicy enough for the general public. Nevertheless it was DROOLWORTHY, so good I had to share a single piece of courgette with my husband, but that was all he was getting! No more, Nada, nope. All mine! Hubbs didn't take long to demolish his with gusto, and he was 110% satisfied with dinner. Meat was cooked just right. We liked the scoop of macaroni salad, and the green salad with mustard dressing and scoop of rice that came with each dish. All were delicious and complimentary to each other. Very filling, very satisfying and totally DEEEELICIOUS. If you visit this roach coach park you have to try Kaipo's. It is one of the best there and you don't have to wait!
