    Salmon dish
    Bianca G.

I got their salmon dish, and wow. It was great! Was a bit sweet but still super flavorful. The corn was also very good. They give you plenty of rice. Service was relatively fast to order. But the food took a bit however it was worth it in my opinion. It's in a food truck little location. There are many food trucks. But this one was pretty good!

This is the food truck location in Ka'anapali, in front of the Hilton and other hotels. Craving noodles once again, I thought I'd try the pancit. Ordered the milk fish pancit combo and an order of pork lumpia, since they were out of the banana. Received a beeper to notify when ready. A large portion- came with a scoop of rice, a small container of corn, pancit, and a deep fried, deboned, filleted, seasoned fish topped with a bit of salsa. Fish had a salty sour tasty seasoning, but was dry unfortunately. It could have used a sauce as well or maybe more salsa. I asked for chili paste, but they only had sriracha. The pancit was ono! I mixed it with the corn. The order of lumpia came with 6 pieces and a dipping sauce. Small in size, containing pork only, no visible veggies. My order of milk fish/pancit $25, lumpia $14, and bottle of water came to over $40! Kinda pricey, would not order again, but was happy to try. Fish too dry for my liking.

Best Filipino food truck in Kaanapali. Their marinated pork bbq is really delicious. Lots of flavors and grilled to perfection. My go to is the pancit and bbq pork combo because I get the best of both worlds. Their pancit is unique because it's cooked using glass noodle vs traditional rice noodle or egg noodle.

Lumpia ($16|6 pieces) Ano ba?! WTF?!

We dropped by the food trucks in Honoapiilani near the Hyatt Regency where we stayed. Isla Chibugan had a good looking menu, so we ordered lumpia and a plate with pork skewers and pancit. The lumpia were GBD, and on the larger side. However, the price was really high for 6 pieces. Likewise, the pork was moist and nicely seasoned. Secondarily, the pancit had good flavor, but was a bit salty for my palate. Again, the plate was really pricey. However, this biz supports Lahaina Strong, in support of the rebuilding of Lahaina. So I'm gonna let the high prices pass. Don't be in a rush here bc the food came out on Flip & Hawaiian time. It was a good 20 min before our food was ready, and the truck did not have many orders. Nonetheless, the staff is friendly. Seating consists of communal tables. I did not see any porto potties. All in all, a positive experience for businesses that support Lahaina Strong. Just expect sit down prices and a bit of a wait.

    Chicken Inasal plate

My husband got the Chicken Inasal for himself and I bought food from the food truck beside Island Chibugan. I decided to try something different because I also cook Filipino food. It was the meal that saved me from my own food purchase, which was not good. The chicken was so good. I only ate a small portion, because I didn't want to take the whole plate from my husband.

Large portions - Great food truck - Tasty Pork It was a tough call to make amongst all the food trucks. Looked at some reviews and came here! We ordered the pork with panict and the meat skewers. Pork dish was the winner! Pancit was flavorful and super tasty addition to the dish! I loved the flavor profiles, they blended well together. Pork was well cooked! The chicken and shrimp skewers were okay, not on the same level as the pork. Recommend going for dinner!

I had Isla Chibugan at the food truck park in Lahaina and it was so delicious! I ordered the shrimp seafood platter, which came with grilled shrimp and rice. The shrimp were perfectly grilled! I also ordered two orders of the vegetarian lumpia, and this was so delicious! If you are looking for Authentic Filipino food this is the place to get it!  The staff was really friendly, and the food came out quickly.  I will come back here during future visits!

    Pork lumpia
    Nicole C.

We visited this food truck when it was at the food truck park in Ka'anapali. I went to this truck to get some lumpia as a side with food from other trucks. I ordered the 6 piece pork lumpia. This was the worst lumpia I have ever had. The outer part shell was not crispy at all. The pork mixture inside was a formed, sausage-like log. The flavor was not good, and we bit into a hard piece of cold fat. They also smelled weird. These definitely seemed like cheap frozen lumpia, not fresh at all. For the price, I was very disappointed and only ate half of one before I threw the rest away. Also, the sauce that came with it was not sweet chili sauce, it was a vinegar sauce that just added a weird sour flavor to the mushy lumpia. *After I posted this review, the business reached out to me and offered for me to come back and try again, and that they may have not realized the food was improperly cooked due to the busy dinner rush. Unfortunately I did not have a chance to return while on my vacation, so I do not know if the food would have been better the second time. However, the food truck festival where this business is located is open from 5-9pm, and lumpia is probably the most well known item on the menu, so I would have expected that they would be prepared to make this item properly during this four hour service period.

Pork belly lechon plate ... does not come with Lumpias .. I added that from my order of Lumpias for my picture

Definitely recommend!!! I'm impressed! Came to this amazing food truck event and had to order food from Isla Chibugan .. I ordered the pork belly lechon plate and some pork Lumpias and both were delicious! The salsa on top of the lechon threw me off a Bit but once I took a bite of everything together I understood why... it went so well together.. I didn't know I needed veggies but I did because it was delicious! The pork lumpia was also delicious! Dipped with the chili sweet n sour sauce.. I ate a whole order by myself lol made my kids share the other order The customer service was as amazing as their food! Thank you! I will be back to try other dishes!

We're vacationing from California and happened upon this amazing food truck that I highly recommend. Even though we've only been here a week, I've already eaten here three times, ordering the same grilled pork plate each time. The pork is perfectly seasoned and super delicious. Last night, we decided to get a tray of the grilled pork, and they accommodated our last-minute request with just a two-hour notice. The milkfish is just as good. We shared our order with friends who are also visiting, and they all loved it. Did I mention one of our friends and my brother used to be chefs? Don't miss this place. I'm going to eat there one more time before heading back to Cali.

Cute food truck!!! Lots of delicious options, I'm excited!!!

Went to the food trucks for dinner and stumbled upon this cute red Filipino food truck. Everything looks delicious, but I tried to be good and only ordered one plate!!! If you like pork, order the grilled pork plate. The pork is tender and FULL of flavor, rice is simple and on point. It was everything I was hoping for. The service is great, very friendly people working. We will be back before we leave!!

First time trying food from this food truck and it was so delicious! We got the grilled pork belly plate with white rice and an order of lumpia and both were freshly made to order. The flavors were on point and I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu.

Panchit and bbq combo is so good, volume is huge too. Love the rice noodle and spam, and looks like fish cake thing as well.

We were excited to try a recommendation from a blog we had seen, specifically the sisig tacos, and…read morethe crispy Taiwanese chicken. first of all, it was really hard to catch this truck while it was still open. Although they had hours that where I listed, we missed them the first time because they put up a sign that said back @ 5. The second time we caught them, it was right before they put up the back at 5 sign, and I think that's why the sisig was super tough and chewy - we got the bottom of the pot sisig haha. Anyhow, happy to report the chicken was very tasty. The fry was light, the seasoning on point and the portion was sizable. Both were plated on top of a banana leaf, which I thought was great presentation. Overall I would say it was okay, probably not something we'd hit up again, but glad we tried it!

Every item here at a Merienda Maui food truck was delicious. The only mistake we made was not…read moreeating here sooner, since we would have returned to try more of the menu. We selected two types of tacos, the Shrimp and the Thai Beef Tacos. The shrimp tacos are served with a cabbage slaw, a ginger sesame dressing (not a strong flavor), gochujang aioli (dominant flavor that worked well with the shrimp), and some pickled red onions on top. Somewhat simple but all flavors combine well, the shrimp stands out with the aioli, and it has a tropical sense to it. The Thai Beef Tacos use a Thai marinade on the beef (sourced from Maui, though I couldn't tell the difference from regular beef in these chunks in a taco). Beyond that it's a common taco with a tomato salad (pico de gallo), jalapeño, cilantro, and mint (rather than a common diced onion pairing). The marinade infused into each piece of beef and truly carried the dish. I would have eaten it without the garnishes, though they do help fill out the taco. I also thought this was the most basic item we ordered, and would want to try out other items before repeating this. Lastly the Phili-bistek Sando with fries was the true star of the show. It reads as a cheesesteak with bell peppers and onions, and Mayo/chimichurri sauce on top. Yet I think this meat was also marinated, since I can't conceive how much umami was oozing from this burger. It is hands down the best cheesesteak I have every had...and I've been to Philadelphia. I found other recipes online that use a soy marinade to prepare the beef (tapa beef seems to be the Filipino name), and this sounds like it tasted. There was a lot of beef pieces, we shared the burger along 3 people, and I think that the circular shape made it seem larger than if it had been on a longer hoagie bread. Onion jam rather then regular onions would keep the tastebuds working, the Japanese Mayo would introduce both tangy and sweet flavors, and the chimichurri would add parsley, cilantro, and garlic notes. The burger was messy, but worth it. And the fries were extra crispy, similar to In-N-Out double fried fries but thicker. These work perfectly with just ketchup. We considered the Umami fries, which have gochijang and Mayo and Furikake at the same time, and I think all that sauce would reduce the crispiness of the fries. I would still try it, but the fries are top notch and a quick dip in ketchup is all that is needed. The Okonomiyaki Brussel sprouts also sound like an amazing Asian take on the vegetable and something to try next time.

They had run out of the Hamachi Kama (I overheard they only get about 3-5 per day), so they offered Kanpachi instead -- and it ended up being a great choice. While the prices are definitely on the higher side, that's expected at a five-star resort in Maui. Service was excellent, the atmosphere was stunning, and the food was delicious all around. There was a line of people trying to make reservations also so book before or earlier. We arrived a few minutes early for the reservation and our table was ready. The restaurant is much bigger than I thought. Large covered dining area plus the dining on the newly renovated and extra large deck over looking the pool. Evening time was dark inside but the table lights were bright enough at the table and added the nice ambiance. Our server was so friendly and patient and I saw that she was on top of every request and order from all the tables in her section. Amazing skills! We ordered the white lotus mocktail, a OJ, kids Mac and cheese, curry dusted calamari, Korean seafood pancakes, pork belly bao, Rainbow and Shrimp Tempura rolls, and the blackened tuna roll. The dishes and sushi rolls are generous portions and we didn't understand or were starving. We ordered too much for the table. Even the kids Mac and cheese came in this huge bowl enough for two kids. All the sushi rolls were fresh and delicious. They were topped with this wasabi tobiko. I've never had anything like that, and I wished I had more to top other dishes. The Korea seafood pancakes were really crispy on the outside and light and doughy on the inside with the seafood. The sauce on top was great. If they had called this seafood hush puppies, I would have been happy with the order. Each piece was ginormous but didn't have much green onions. I was expecting the pancakes to have a lot more green onions. The pork belly bao buns had a nice pickled salad on top. The buns were not very fluffy but serviceable. The dish was ok. The curry dusted calamari was also just ok. Calamari was fried well and crispy. The curry dust was just not the flavor we liked. And it came with these grape halves around which didn't really go well with the calamari or flavor in my opinion. I think if we ever come back, we'll stick with the sushi menu.
