Cupies Breaded Teri mini plate for the win! I love that I can get sides other than Mac salad & their green salad is super fresh. The only junk thing is it's pretty expensive for a plate lunch, but the mini plate filled me up. My nephew loved the strawberry banana Nutella crepe as well!

Stopped by for a burger and fries-so yummy! All menu items are made to order, so expect a wait. Service is friendly and parking available in the front. Casual vibes, come as you are, no AC, but cool enough when sipping your cool drink or shake! Crinkle cut fries are crispy and hot-a must order!

Do not come here for nostalgia. The food is definitely not the same. Ordered the breaded teriyaki, per usual. It didn't hit at all. If you're looking for something close to the old school version, go elsewhere. BUT! They have the best bread pudding I've had in awhile! Served hot with syrup it's fantastic! This is something worth going here for! Skip the food, get dessert and you'll be good!

Mini breaded teriyaki plate and a peanut butter smoothie

First time on Maui and first time here and I got to say it's a pretty nice place they got some water shower thing outside so if it's hot you can cool down. Anyways back to the food that you all want to know about. So I had the mini breaded teriyaki plate and a peanut butter smoothie and I got to say that smoothie was sooo good and the breaded teriyaki was also good. Definitely got to come back here to try more of the foods and drinks.

Cupies one of my go to places every once a while when I want a nice treat. Workers are nice and the service is pretty quick in terms of ordering. The area itself can get kinda crowded since it doesn't have the biggest parking space. The tables are outside not in a closed space so it can get hot so I prefer to just do take out most of the time. For me my favorites would be their milkshakes and the badua crepes which are so good. I also really enjoy their chow fun, they got lots of options for local food and breakfast.

This is one of our regular places to pick up dinner from. The food is good and we especially like their slushies and other frozen treats. There is covered patio seating available. Orders are placed at a window. Service is fast and friendly.

Special of the day. Pork loin with mushroom and gravy.

One of my go to places in Maui. Fast and delicious. The staff is always friendly . Will always stop by to get a meal to go.

This place looks like it's mostly visited by locals as opposed to tourists. Their soft serve is generously served and their banana bread was warm. I'd love to return and try their burgers or other items since everything people were eating looked and smelled good :))

Big menus filled with lots of variety, I went with the bacon cheeseburger and ube milkshake. Burger was savory & delicious, milkshake was creamy & full of flavor. What a great prices, yo pay for what you get!

Another nostalgic gem to check out while in Wailuku. We were looking for a place to get a quick bite to eat before heading to the airport, and a friend recommended this place - the breaded teriyaki was specifically mentioned as a must-try. So we got a few breaded teriyaki sandwiches, fish n chips, and fried noodles. The son absolutely loved the fried noodles - ate the whole plate before I had a chance to sample some of it! The breaded teriyaki sandwich was good, but I wouldn't consider it one of the best things to eat on Maui. They weren't serving slushies , which was a big disappointment because I've heard a lot of great things about their slushies!

    Alice X.

This is a great to go meal. A lot locals eat here. There are so many things on their menu but apparently their signature item is the breaded teriyaki. It's pretty tasty!

No matter how many times it may change owners, the taste of someone who's born and raised on Maui can appreciate the simple home cooking of Cupies, and how it was one of the businesses that really supported its Maui community during the pandemic. I recommend any of their shakes/crepes, and also the breaded teriyaki plate - Miguel Morales Photography

    Breaded Teri Beef Sandwich.

This is a whole in the wall gem. If you're looking for some good shakes. This is the place to go. Fruity Pebble is one of there top items. The Breaded Teri Beef Sandwich is something to try. I would recommend getting some fries with this if you want a complete meal. I will be back to try more items and post more reviews.

Ask the Community - Cupies Maui

    What's the ubebangbang?

Jacqueline..... It is on our secret menu. It is our famous Ube Shake with strawberry Pop Rocks in it. Thanks for your question.

Does Cupies now serve shakes as a regular menu item?

Hi Sam thanks for your question. It is kind of a regular item. The Pulehu Steak is a weekly dinner special. it starts at around 6 every Tuesday until it sells out.

Do they serve roast pork daily or is it a weekly special, if so on what day?

    I believe it's a special on Thursdays.

Why choose? Get both, plus a piece of their classic fried chicken. The last few times I've gotten the chicken katsu at Zippy's, I've been pleasantly surprised. The chicken was tender and the breading was crispy. Sometimes you go to a plate lunch place and the katsu is all skin and no meat, but not here. Everything came with the usual rice and mac salad, and it hit the spot. One note: normally we eat on the restaurant side, but this time the host seemed to be in a mood and wasn't very friendly. So we opted for the takeout side instead, where the service was much warmer, and the food was just as ono. Every place has an off day, and it won't stop us from coming back.

Searched on Yelp to see if there was a Zippy's on Maui, and was surprised to see it only had 3.5 stars. I was like, "But why? Zippy's is so good!" When we got there, someone in our party greeted the hostess and told her our group size. She scoffed, "Well, I don't see a name!!" I thought to myself, "Ohhhh, that's why." Apparently you have to type in your name or else the hostess will let her pettiness out. Go get a massage or eat a Snickers or something. Jeebus. Rude hostess aside, our waitress was great. Sorry I didn't catch any names. Food was also great. Just like the Zippy's I'm used to. People saying this is Hawaii's version of Denny's or IHOP are doing Zippy's a bit of a disservice. It's a diner, yes, but the food quality is much better. Plenty of seating on a Thursday night. Parking lot had lots of spaces available too. I'm sure it's busier on the weekends.

I am the biggest fan of fried chicken sandwiches!!!! This was one of the best fried chicken…read moresandwiches I have ever had. Just look at the photos this chicken and the bun was huge. It was the size of a small infant head! Let's just start off by saying this was the last day on our trip in Maui and I just wanted something quick and easy and on the cheaper side cause everything has been so expensive. So I looked up the food court and saw that this place had numerous different types of dishes and restaurants within the shopping mall. There's nothing really fancy about this food hall, it pretty much looks like a cafeteria. We come from San Francisco so we're used to food halls being fancy five star blah blah blah. This is definitely a bang for your buck kind of place. I could see that a lot of locals come to this place for lunch as well. Walking up to the chicken restaurant I walked up to a kiosk and ordered my food through there. It was about 15 minutes. I wanted to say until I got my food and when I saw it, my eyes grew so big! The chicken was so moist, and there was so much flavor that it was like bing bang in my mouth. I got mine very spicy so definitely if you're looking for spice to order it spicy. It's usually hard for me to pick something out of a line up of restaurants I've already tried before. So this time was easy. A name I didn't recognize appeared on my screen. Plus since I always want to try something new. Let's see what Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken has to offer this not so hangry yet, girl. So far so good, their stock photos look appetizing. I already picked out a list of items I'd like to try like the: Chicken Sando, Chicken Fingers, Chicken Wrap, Loaded Fries, Salad w/ Chicken Breast as well as the Loaded Mac & Cheese. As for my first visit I chose to try the Loaded Fries with Medium heat & my fiancé chose the Chicken Bites in Mild. Just to be on the safe side when trying out new restaurants as to what they consider to be spicy. I'll usually start in the middle & work my way up on spice. Mild or medium didn't have that kick I was looking for so I'll try hot on my next visit. Just not sure which item will win my pick just yet. However I am a fan of their logo & overall atmosphere. It's a fun restaurant to order at. They have 3 self serve kiosks to order from. The two on the outside are for ordering Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken & the one in the middle is for ordering off of the dessert menu. Which being that I'm usually not one to order soda. I was extremely excited to have an option to order a Thai Tea Boba from here too. So there's still plenty from their treat menu that I'm eager to try as well. My only suggestion I can think of is maybe having different size options to choose from. Cause my loaded fries came in a massive box. It was enough to feed me for 3 meals, breakfast, lunch & dinner. Dating tips: If you're on a budget take your light eater here for an inexpensive date & just take your leftovers to go. Overall my first experience was a good one & I'll work on getting my spicy lovers to sample Angry Hot. Until next time. XOXO, ChelsieFletcher

However, proper food safety protocol would require discarding the contaminated item and changing gloves before preparing new food. This was not done.
