During my October visit to Maui, I came across photos of Patsy's Food on Activity feed page, after checking out the Yelp page, I had Patsy's bookmarked. I took the advice of Maui's CM Maria and made sure I visit this November trip. I asked the hubby to take me, although he said it was a little farther out since we had a few more stops to go before we leave my favorite island, but he happily took me here. Patsy's started from out as a food truck, now to cute little shop. I met and spoke to Marisa, she is super friendly and got to learn more about Patsy's Food. The cute photo is Grandma Patsy's her food, sauces legacy ,continues on here at Patsy's Food. The menu is very simple, ( about 5-6 items) & the special of the day. This way the cook which is Marisa's husband can focus on those dishes! I wanted to know what's popular and Marisa mentioned in this order: chicken tempura, chicken katsu & the donburi. I'm sure all of them are all popular! Since I already have some other foods that I picked up along the way and wanted to try the signature chicken tempura bites, I got a plate of that with all rice, no sides and got a bottle of the spicy sauce. I can't wait to use that! We ate the food at the airport and I loved it, the tempura batter is so soft, not as crispy since we didn't eat it right away and taste so unique. I never had tempura with chicken, ever. I loved dipping the chicken tempura in that sauce, so yummy! ( dip, eat with rice, repeat. repeat..) I can't wait to go back for more next visit and I need to try the donburi and rest of the menu items . Did you know you can get an entire bucket of tempura chicken, $40.?! Please support this local business, my very first time visiting and I am a fan!

This is the cutest little lunch spot in Wailuku! It's located across the street from Four Sisters Bakery. Parking can be a bit challenging but I found parking right in front. There are five 4-person tables inside. The service is super friendly and quick. I got the mini Okinawa Shoyu pork which was amazing! The pork was so tender and flavorful. Next time I want to try the tempura eggplant.

Still one of my favorite spots for lunch. Food is great, customer service is great & the owners Mike and Marissa are super sweet. Support local and check them out.

I have loved, I still love and I'll continue to love on this local business. I can honestly say this sweet local couple provide sweet service paired with delicious food that so far hasn't disappointed. I can count on them to whip out the goods. Recently after picking up our take out, we discovered they have junior bites. We came back to try their chicken tempura Junior bites only $5. Such a good snack or meal for someone with a smaller appetite. It was so tasty with the sauce evenly spread on top. If you're looking for a new spot to eat or just a local business to support, stop in! Literally everything I've tried is so good! You can dine in their casual spot or take out. Follow them on instagram for current updates and recommend calling in your order because they're quick to sell out for the day or close for catering events.

Patsy's is my favorite comfort food. I've been a customer since their food truck days, and so happy their new location is close by with expanded weekend days/hours. My favorite is the ono katsu, but it's currently a special that appears sporadically. Our go-to's on the regular menu are chicken tempura bites, eggplant tempura and beef stew. The chicken katsu donburi and Okinawa should pork are amazing too. We love everything on the limited menu because it's done well. The food is fresh, tasty, consistent and perfectly portioned. All plates include steamed rice and Mac salad or corn. Would recommend calling in your order ahead of time due to limited parking. Makes pick up a breeze. Mahalo for serving up delicious food Michael and Marissa!

We loved Patsy's Food since they started out as a food truck. Their food is always cooked to order, so it comes out hot and fresh! We wanted to try their special for the week of 8/21-8/24 - shrimp tempura. We placed our order to be picked up at dinner time on Friday (highly recommended because they do sell out quickly). We got their shrimp tempura plate, shrimp & chicken tempura combo and their eggplant tempura. As always every plate we got was delicious!

Their Tempura Chicken Bites are always talked about locally and I can attest that their worth the hype! Super delicious and savory, along with various sauces that you can dip them in (paired with rice and mac salad) , I recommend putting in a phone or instagram order and getting to try a plate lunch yourself if you're on Maui! - Miguel Morales Photography

A great treat from Patty's with a Sam Sato collab. Extra tasty tempura Fried Chicken and chewy SSato noodles with char siu bbq pork. Drench it with a little Patty special Fry sauce and it's a beautiful lunch. It's hidden behind luxury auto dealers, but worth the hunt near Pipe Pacific and the road crossing Safeway. Hint: Great place to pick up eats before or after the airport!

This place is a hidden gem less than 2 minutes from Raising Canes and Chick Fill A. The prices are much more reasonable and they sell out of their items because those in the know order in advance. Their chicken is tastier and the portions larger. They are located in the Pacific Pipe parking lot, which is a block from the new County Service Center.

    Yelpers enjoy a perk today.

We love the food at Patsy's - crispy crunchy tasty goodness - and did you know you can also buy their own unique sauces to take home? Great presents, but be sure to get some for yourself too. Once you find them in their out of the way spot, you'll appreciate no parking hassles or crowds. Lunchtime hours only makes it challenging but plan your trip around this spot.

My brother has been picking up from Patsy's Lunch Wagon for years! This time around I got a chance to go directly to the food truck parked in the Pacific Pipe parking lot. Marissa was so friendly and Michael's cooking skills are so amazing. I loved the tempura chicken bites and enjoyed the Okinawan Shoyu pork special on Wednesday so much. The pork was marinated so well and the tempura batter was perfection! Portions were generous enough to share. This was more than enough for 3 people to be satisfied. We'll be back the next time we're on Maui!

Only eight reviews? Patsy's needs some love! In addition to their truck parked on Pulehu Road near the Kahului Safeway, I believe they do appearances at the Maui Sunday Market at Kahului Shopping Center. Even in these tight economic times, Patsy's was generous enough to team up with Yelp to offer us Elite Squad members the chance to enjoy a plate lunch from their quaint menu - Ono Katsu or Tempura Chicken Bites. I went with the latter. MENU: Just five local-style dishes and a daily special in either mini or regular sizes. Various versions of chicken, pork and a beef stew. FOOD: Tempura Chicken Bites I've had many-a-shrimp tempura but never done with chicken!? This was an easy decision as the pics looked so scrumptious and an excellent choice as the dish rocked. Genius! Ten big chunks of chicken were coated in a smooth, creamy batter and deep-fried to golden goodness. Eating them plain was good, but dipping them in the included sweet-savory soy-based sauce took it to the moon! I wish I could've tried their mac salad but instead chose corn as my side as I'm trying to cut down on carbs. I shared my plate with two friends and they really enjoyed it as well, even wanting more info so they could visit in the future. Very generous portion for the price. Highly recommended! OVERALL: Fried chicken loves, rejoice. Try this version because you won't be disappointed.

We were greeted as we came in and told to check out the menu and join the line when we were ready to order. Tables were on a first come first served basis. The server on floor was a man of many suits is what my granddad said. He juggled hosting, clearing tables, taking orders, food delivery service, phone orders, and serving meals. His service was very efficient and hospitable. Their menu is expansive which made deciding both easy and hard for most of us since their whole menu sounded great. We all ended up with their top sellers, the server knowing it was our first time to Hawaii recommended this famous Hawaiian dish. Something about hearing homemade gravy and burger patties along with runny eggs sounds too good to miss out on, with being name Loco Moco, what's not to try? Their famous smoked pork (what they are known for) glazed with this sweet pineapple sauce with a nice punch of heat was definitely a highlight for everyone at the table. We also got the Korean style beef ribs that's served on a hot skillets. The aroma filled the restaurant and definitely captured everyone's attention, this by far was my favorite thing on our table aside from the coconut cake which we had for dessert (Justin, tell your sister I need the recipe!). For seafood we got the Ahi katsu salad (we had to be somewhat healthy lol) it was nice and crispy on the outside. Sauces complemented the juicy flavorful dish so well. I never had papaya seed dressing before until today and I ended up buying my own at Safeway! Sweet, tangy, refreshing paired well with the fish. Hurricane mochi chicken was juicy on the outside and the crispy skin was coated with Hurricane sauce (Teri aioli sauce) so good my nephew bought a bottle to take home. Overall the food was amazing. Server checked on us several times, offering to go plates if you need them ( we didn't need it, we had a proper "mopsesh" ) Disclaimer: They serve their food on paper plates, trust me the food taste better on these plates. The locals next to us said that's what you call a plate lunch while watching our food hit the table Overall experience was great, the service was impressive, the food was amazing, and the place was neat and clean. Thank you Justin for sharing a piece of your family with mines. We will definitely be returning on our next trip. Congratulations with the restaurant expanding as well! You guys are an inspiration! PS: While you wait for your food, read up on their wall and learn a bit of Hawaiian History. They also have a portrait of Sparky's himself.

Pies are also pretty reliable for taste. Their pastries are delicious and I do like their new Ube ensamada. The new Ube haupia pie is good too but the filling is very thin. Also like the orange bang drink, burrito, Portuguese bean soup. Service is good as the employees are helpful and friendly. The small piece of fish was dry and only lukewarm. The sides included chili, potato salad, and a generous portion of rice. The chili and potato salad were solid, but the rice was cold. We actually got seated fairly quickly, around 10 minutes. The hostess was clearly overwhelmed, she was throwing menus on tables and was quite rude. She was arguing loudly with servers about rearranging the tables, it wasn't pleasant. I ordered the short stack banana pancakes and breakfast loco moco, and they both were good. The wife ordered the day's special prime rib sandwich. Initially they brought out the wrong sandwich - a french dip. They noticed and corrected it, but the $20 prime rib sandwich looks really sad, with a few tiny bits of chopped up beef with a little unknown kind of cheese, the meat doesn't taste like prime rib, and the fries were stale; the french dip actually looked much better. My wife barely ate half the plate. Maybe that's why a lot of the chefs said, don't order the daily specials; they are getting rid of old ingredients, LOL. We are locals living in Honolulu; we have come to Tasty Crust many times in the past when we visit Maui. This is the first time we didn't have a good experience. Lessons learned - don't go on a Sunday and not during lunch hours, and no daily specials.
