The food was good. It was a good chirashi bowl. It had 1 piece of yellow fin , ahi , shrimp, bbq eel, tomago, seaweed salad and flying fish roe over sushi rice and it comes with a bowl of miso soup. There was only one piece of each fish. The fish was fresh. I just feel like there was more filler than fish. With the small can of Arizona it came to around $30 so that is why I didn't give five stars. The miso soup was very good tasted homemade. The service was good. I will definitely be going back to try some other menu items. The ambiance well it's a food truck in an old gas station. So that's why I didn't go 5 stars I feel like the pricing was a little high for a lot of rice and seafood salad and about 5 pieces of fish and a small Arizona.

Bro. Best food truck around! The food is freshly made each and every time! We got poke bowl and beef bowl. Both a little pricy but so worth it. The service takes a bit longer but we get to enjoy the Hawaiian sun so it was cool. It's in an old gas station with other food trucks so it can get busy.

My fiancée and I were here on Maui for the weekend I have to say quality and taste was a 5 star. We ordered the spicy ahi roll, shrimp tempura roll and hamachi roll. Definitely our go to for sushi!

Delicious food, convenient location on Dairy Road, and nice hours! Black garlic ramen is delicious and my favorite is the takoyaki. The sushi is great. There is close parking and sit down eating is available. They have a pretty good variety of food items and drinks. Customer service is great every time. I usually call the order ahead if it might be busy around lunch time. Food is consistently good and I'm so thankful for their late hours, especially for Maui. Late night sushi and ramen? Right on!

We tried the chirashidon and braised pork. Both were really good, very flavorful. The fish in the chirashidon was very tender and really fresh, and the unagi was the best I've ever tried so far. The service was friendly and quick. The area is where the food trucks are by the old gas station at the corner of Dairy road and Alamaha. So the ambiance is very casual.

Lono Blue is a hole in the wall run by the staff of a catering company. I was curious to try it because of their extensive menu. I tried the gyudon beef bowl, Sunday bento with mahi mahi, Okinawa pork belly, Japanese chilled ramen, housemade pork hash, futomaki, housemade kimichi, and tamago nigiri. Overall, I thought the quality of the food was subpar. I didn't enjoy any of the dishes except the housemade kimichi to be honest.

I literally had to stop in the middle of my meal to write this review because their food is that delicious. Lono Blue Kitchen is definitely worth the wait. I do recommend bringing patience with you though since it is evident that this is a pure small business. It appeared when we went that there was one person manning the kitchen and the front. Staff was clear about wait times though and that they check availability on certain items. For ambiance, there isn't a ton of seating available and it is open air. If you want to sit and dine, you may have to wait if another party is there already. There is street parking available so keep your eyes peeled when you're looking for a spot. Everything is seasoned so well. And the flavor profile that you're expecting with dishes like the takoyaki are delivered-which definitely makes the taste buds happy. Our katsu was crispy and didn't feel greasy.

This time I went with my friend and we basically ordered a pretty big survey of the menu. The thing that stood out is really good with the spring rolls with brown rice wraps. Full of fresh veggies and very tasty. I had a combination, salmon, tuna, almost like a poke bowl with some veggies and egg I'd say it was a 3 1/2 star item. We had the cabbage pancake, which reminded me of eating in Japan. And some potato croquettes which also we're pretty good.. the service was friendly. They were patient attentive, answered plenty of questions about the menu. The all the food was made fresh. They do have tables out to eat, but we chose to take our food to a park.

Amazing Japanese food. The katsu curry is great! The braised pork belly is also a winner! Oh and the lemon salmon sushi was really good!

Sam Sato's still gives the feels!…read more I haven't been home to Maui in years, and one of the first places I wanted to eat on my list was from my childhood - Sam Sato's! We made sure to pay a visit on our first free lunch day! Of course, coming during the lunch rush we had to wait for maybe 20 minutes outside before getting a table for 4. Longest 20 minutes of my life LOL! Paid off though when we finally got seated! Ordered the usual suspects: -Dry Noodles (Dry Mein) ($18.95) - DOUBLE sized for 2! Or one Hungry Hawaiian HA! -Cheeseburger Deluxe ($5.95) -French Fries with Mustard/Mayo ($5.95) -BBQ Stick (Beef and Chicken) ($3.75 each) -Manju ($1.25 each) -Turnovers ($1.85 each) I was so hungry I forgot pics of half my order! Shared the Dry Noodles with my Mom but honestly I ate 75% of that double order LOL! Just as awesome as I remember - just needed a dash of the soup, splash of shoyu, dab of Tabasco, and a lot of cracked black pepper! Ugh, so ONO! The Cheeseburger Deluxe and French Fries were honestly not gourmet, but the nostalgia factor brings it up a notch for me. Don't forget to dip into their Mustard/Mayo mix, it's a game changer! The BBQ Sticks were a little overdone this time but I'll let it slide because I do love that char on the edges. And you can't leave without having a manju and turnover (or 2....of each LOL) for dessert! Not much has changed at Sam Sato's over the decades (except maybe the prices, they went up!) and that's the way we like it! Old schoo for an old foo like ME!

Had tons of people waiting for take out as well. Server was super on it and took our order quickly. Got the dry mein, cheeseburger, french fries, and beef stick. Dry mein was delicious. Like friend noodles with some soup on the side. Noodles were flavorful and cooked well and light broth complimented it well. Got to try the cheeseburger as well. So flavorful. Reminded me of in-n-out with the thin patty and the mustard mayo that they gave on the side. The beef sticks were charred super well and had a nice meaty flavor. I ate it so quickly! Got some french fries too and they were hot and crispy! On the way out got some of their manju. Small, but delicious! Will be back again! Parking: Parking in the lot in the front or on the street.

Noodles and Rice is located in Kihei. There is plenty of parking (free). There is a single-room bathroom for customers. Super clean! The restaurant is impeccably tidy. There was not a speck of dust or a single water stain in sight. Well done! Plenty of seating inside. Very inviting, cozy space. Perfect for late night noodles (and rice)! The staff were extraordinary friendly and kind. The pho was delicious! The Thai chili oil is quite spicy, but tasty too. I wish we were hungrier because their appetizers look good. RESERVATIONS: Not needed. PARKING: Free & plentiful. MENU: Vietnamese apps, noodle & rice selections, desserts. FOOD: Crispy Tiger Shrimp (4 pcs.) Sizable, peeled shrimp that needed to be cooked more as they visually and texturally tasted a tad rare. The coating was light and crispy but needed more seasoning as they relied on the included dipping sauce for flavor. Lettuce Wrap Romaine innards provided for the perfect vessel for the ground chicken, though the poultry needed a serious flavor oomph. Special Pho The pictures, especially the dark-hued broth, looked so good, I had to try it. This was my first ever beef pho and it was very disappointing. First off, the broth was not hot, a serious flaw for me. Secondly, the flavor was very subtle. I did enjoy the tender slices of meat, especially the meatballs. I wished my carb overload didn't go to waste, but it did. SERVICE: Greeting was immediate and welcoming. Food delivery was quick. Wait staff were friendly but there was no follow up. TIP: There's an automatic gratuity for kitchen staff and a surcharge for using credit cards. OVERALL: Meh.

The staff were friendly, fast and attentive, which always helps elevate the meal. Their signature tonkotsu broth is rich, creamy, and packed with umami -- you can tell it's been simmered with care. Hubs ordered the White Ramen and it was perfectly balanced with tender chashu, a soft-boiled egg, and fresh greens -- all the ramen classics done right. The Black Ramen with burnt garlic oil was another standout, bold and flavorful without being overwhelming. We also sampled the toro-taku maki (fresh), then the takoyaki and karaage off the happy hour menu-- both crispy and well-seasoned -- and might i say-- it was great to have a Happy Hour menu with tasty bites to start. Atmosphere was casual and fun without being loud. Great spot for lunch or dinner -- locals and visitors coming and going. This place has satisfying portions and solid prices compared to other island eats. Overall, this is one of the best ramen experiences on Maui -- perfect for when you want comforting Japanese cuisine that hits all the right notes. Will definitely be back next visit!

We ordered the garlic Ramen and the spicy beef Ramen and the chicken Katsu. We don't have any pictures because our phones were dead from no electricity from the storm, and the folks were so nice they let us charge phone at the counter. The portions are humongous. We were shocked, even though we were super hungry since we haven't had any real food for almost 24 hours, we could only eat half of the food. Granted we order three plates for two people, but still. And even at dinner, we couldn't finish the leftovers because it was just very filling. The flavors are really good. I didn't expect to have dined here, but I'm glad that we did. For how busy they were, they were very attentive and apologize for just slightly longer wait times. But honestly for such a crazy rain storm, it was so wonderful to have them be open! It's a simple restaurant in a plaza with a Safeway. Nothing fancy, but also not really a hole in the wall either. It's not a particularly trendy or a cute place, but it does the job. There's plenty of parking in the plaza that's free and then the restroom is also easily accessible and well kept.
