My husband and I came to Gather for our anniversary dinner, and it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. They surprised us with complimentary champagne for our anniversary, which was such a thoughtful touch. Every part of the service was excellent -- from the host to our server to the food runners. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and very on top of making sure we had everything we needed. Plates were cleared promptly, our table was kept tidy, and we never had to ask for anything twice. The drinks were also excellent. My husband had an Old Fashioned, and I had a dirty gin martini, and both were superb. The food recommendations were great, and everything we ordered was delicious. We started with the Caesar salad and shrimp cocktail. My husband had the surf and turf, and I had the macadamia nut-crusted fish. We finished with cheesecake and crème brûlée for dessert, and both were amazing. The location is beautiful as well. It's an incredible spot to watch the sunset with a gorgeous ocean view right next to the golf course, which made our anniversary dinner feel even more special. Between the food, cocktails, service, views, and thoughtful anniversary touches, we had such a memorable evening. We will definitely be coming back the next time we're in Maui. read more

We came here right after landing in Maui to celebrate my husband's birthday, and what a great choice it was to come to Gather! It's about a 30-minute drive from the airport and is beautifully located on the golf course, with amazing views and super easy parking. Now, onto the food and service! We arrived just in time for happy hour (from 3-5 p.m. and is walk-in only). We enjoyed a few drinks and appetizers to start, and everything was wonderful. Our server, Cierra, was amazing! She was so personable, attentive, and welcoming. I mentioned it was my husband's birthday and she surprised him with a special dessert treat. What a memorable way to end the meal! Thank you, Cierra, and the Gather team, for making his birthday extra special. We had such a great experience and can't wait to come back! read more

A year ago, we visited this establishment and encountered a notably unsatisfactory experience, as documented in our prior review. Although we harbored reluctance, we opted to provide it a second opportunity despite the the other excellent alternatives. The waiter was unfamiliar with the menu, and once again, the main courses were served incorrectly. When our guest accidentally dropped his fork, a manager, NOT our waiter, had to get him a replacement. Refilling our water unattainable without explicitly signaling for attention. The main courses were prepared inaccurately, and the waiter blamed the chef. Consequently, we do not anticipate revisiting or recommending this establishment, ever! read more

An excellent place to come to eat. Beautiful views of the ocean while you enjoy your meal. Riley was our server I enjoyed joking with him but he had the last laugh on my husband. The bill came in a book. He said if you read the book you get a free meal. Silly server. read more

Great happy hour! We appreciated having several food and drink options to choose from. The poke was delicious, and the smash burger was incredible. The local catch dip was also really good. Our server was excellent and helped us navigate the GF menu items. My only complaints were the small biting bugs on the patio and that both of our happy hour drinks were a bit bitter. All in all, we will return due to the spectacular view, service, and food. read more

Lovely location, great view, some of the food was good, hit and miss food wise Still worth a visit read more

The view alone makes this place worth a visit. The food is also solid. We ordered all our food at the same time but for some reason received our bread and salad after the main course, which was somewhat disappointing but fine. They are know for the sea bass which was excellent. The crispy octopus was perfect. Our server was new and still fretting the hang of things. Still worth a visit to walk in for cocktails to see the sunset. read more

Very convenient after golfing at Wailea. Making a reservation on Open table is super convenient to do. Just make sure you are able to show up due to their cancellation fees. There's bar seating and regular seating available. It's open air. Option to sit outside or inside. We had mixed experiences here throughout the years that we visit. Food is super good here. Always good. The burger is great. The poke is yummy! We just tried the grilled cheese and that was Ono too! The staff however can vary, depending on who you have. Our last server was super good and attentive. Very nice gal. read more

The husband and I had to go back, as this quickly became our favorite place to grab a late lunch / Happy Hour on Maui. It remains a 5 star place to visit. The food and the views alone are worth the visit! But, add in great service and great drinks, it just makes each visit perfect. Consistency is a big deal, and here they have it! Food and drinks have been consistently great. Again: Eat Here!! read more

As first time visitors in Maui, I'm so grateful to have chose this restaurant to celebrate my husband and I 26th year anniversary. The entire experience was beyond amazing. From the hosts welcome greeting to our exit was wonderful. The food was delectable. Every bite was scrumptious. I want to give a special shout out the marvelous staff, Angie, our server, thank you for being so kind the way you went above and beyond to make us feel special on our day was appreciated. Brook the manager who listened to me and shared wonderful insight as a local. You made us feel so comfortable. Thank you to Vic who brought out our food with immense pride for the culinary art. He introduced every item brought out to our table, you are amazing. I definitely recommend anyone to this restaurant. Even just for a regular dinner or just a drink you are able to watch the sunset if you go at the right time. You won't be disappointed. read more

Came in with high expectations, but unfortunately this one missed the mark across the board. The Kung-Pao Calamari sounded like it would bring some heat and bold flavor, but it landed flat--more soggy than crispy and the sauce lacked that punch you'd expect from ginger-hoisin. The Crispy Brussels were also a letdown; they had a decent texture but were super mild, and the vinaigrette didn't really add anything memorable aside from a greasy taste. We ordered the Hoku Kai Seafood Salad which looked fresh, but the flavors just didn't come together--everything tasted muted and incredibly under-seasoned. The vinaigrette tasted mainly like oil, no other flavors. Same story with the Ahi Au Poivre, which should've been the standout, was in our experience didn't elevate it and was a genuine miss. Overall, nothing was outright bad, just very forgettable and lacking flavor for the price point. The embarrassment was this was intended for a birthday dinner, no dessert menus were offered. Rating of 2/5, disappointed and will not recommend or try again. read more

Wish we came during the day but a very cute spot if you wanna dress up and fine dine on your stay in Maui. If you wanna save money copy this link to use the inKind app. Our waiter was so sweet and very informed of the menu. I usually feel embarrassed, knowing what items are on the menu and having to ask questions, but she made me feel very comfortable. I'll always it seems basic but trust the breaded butter as an appetizer so good!! I had the Huli chicken with noodles, so which flavor and just delicious. My boyfriend enjoyed the Smashburger and he usually eats a lot, but he was surprisingly full. The drinks here were good probably even dangerous because I couldn't taste the liquor but it was definitely there. read more

The sfaff at Lava Java in Kihei recommended Gather to us. It is owned by locals and we aim to support locals when we visit rather than large corporations. Even with this possibly limiting goal we found the food service ambiance top notch. takeaways: go to watch the sunset or expansive views on a clear day The pineapple upside down cake is delicious! A must try. The bread service is addictive $8 per order Be prepared for above and beyond service.. we celebrated a bday here and the waitress saw i excused myself to the restroom. She waited until i returned to serve the bday dessert and candle! large group friendly ; huge restaurant overlooking golf course and expsnsive views of maui The shoyu black cod... delicious with risotto and bok choy pairing Short ribs notable: fusion asian style short ribs , moist fall off the bone non alcoholic cocktails abundant for guests who do not drink entrees $ 28-58 Thank you Gather for the special family dinner experience All seven of us are grateful to Gather here read more

This restaurant gets an A+ for the location and the ambiance! Also the service was excellent and though our server was brand new, she was sweet, friendly and truly concerned about doing a great job! I wish I felt the same about the food however it was fairly lackluster. The chicken was fairly tough and tasted like it had been made earlier in the day and then reheated. My husband had.seabass and wasn't very impressed. While it was fresh it lacked flavor. Also, we thought it was petty to charge $9 for a simple basket of bread with butter. Most any other restaurant would offer this complimentary. Also they charged a 3% service fee on the check to cover the kitchen staff which is distasteful. If they are that concerned about the kitchen staff they should charge a little extra to each menu item and compensate them that way. With so many great options to dine on the island we won't be coming back here. read more

Beautiful open feeling when you step into Gather in the Wailia Golf Club grounds offering spectacular views of the course and the Pacific ocean. Wasn't too busy around four PM and we sat in the outside deck in the shade. Maui Caesar Salad & Maui Pineapple BBQ pork ribs on the happy hour menu(3-5pm daily )were one of the best deals we found while dining out on our trip. Salad @$8 was freshly made with garlic croutons , White anchovy ,house made dressing was a good starter. The pork ribs were tasty, messy but not a lot of meat on them. Side slaw was tasty. Gather Mai Tai with Kula light & dark rum and a plethora of fresh juices was refreshing and so good it required a 2nd round.(also on HH menu @$10) Good service allowed us to relax and take in the nature beauty without feeling rushed or being neglected. Fun time out. read more

Love this place. The staff is always helpful and kind. The ambiance is amazing, the sunsets a gift. We used to go here for our favorite charred cauliflower burger on the island. We left the island for a few months and were disappointed they replaced the cauliflower burger with an eggplant burger. Tonight we gave it a chance. When it came to our table I cut it in half to find a grey patty, not appealing to the eye. The texture was not pleasant either. We have a large family ready and willing to try vegan options at any restaurants on Maui. The things that will bring us back is Happy Hour, drinks, the Brussel Sprouts that are the best I've ever tasted and they brought back a salad we can enjoy, as well. I do wish they'd offer a plant based burger without black beans. There are many options available to restaurants now that you could throw into the freezer to offer to us non meat eaters and keep us coming back. We're ready to support this great place. We're in hopes they will support us too! read more

We went looking for Gannon's and found Gather's instead. Same gorgeous open air restaurant and expansive Pacific Ocean views just a new name and new Happy Hour menu. Apparently, Beverly Gannon, renowned restauranteur and author, sold Gannon's a few years ago to the Gather Group. Mid June, the restaurant had few patrons. Possibly because of tourist backlash or maybe reticence coming back to Maui after the Lahina fire. Who knows. We sat outside and enjoyed the cool breeze and incredibly romantic views. My pre-meal cocktail was an interesting mai tai which contained something like lime haupia flavored whipped cream. Service was quite attentive and we were checked on regularly. This location is one of our most favorite spots on the island. read more

Happy hour visit. The wife and I ordered Mai Tai's. Strong and tasty, not a fan of the lime haupia foam. The waitress suggested a citrus non alcoholic drink with fizz and cinnamon. A hit. Ordered the Beet Poke, Maui Garden Salad, and the BBQ Pork Ribs. We liked the Beet Poke the best. Similar flavor to a fish poke with good texture and flavor. Served over a bed of brown rice. The Garden Salad had good ingredients, we would have liked the vinaigrette to be more intense. The ribs were cooked really well but the sauce was not special. Great service and location. read more

The BEST meal we probably had in Maui. And not exorbitantly priced either. Not exactly sure, but it looks like this is located on a golf course. They've got great views of the ocean and sunset. We were lucky to enjoy a live ukulele player/singer for a wedding that was happening in a private section. Their pina on the rocks cocktail (Mahina Coconut Rum, Coconut Cream, Pineapple, Lime, Toasted Coconut, Dash of Angostura Bitters) is to die for. I had two. Dish highlights were kung pao calamari and ponzu glazed catch. Highly recommend! I would definitely come back. read more

Great Views!!! Situated on The Wailea Golf Course, so views of the course and expansive ocean view. Just so lovely. Food was delicious! We ordered the Beet Poke. So inventive, light and refreshing! We enjoyed a 80th birthday celebration with our good friends in March 2025, where I was fortunate to capture the attached picture. By-the-glass wine selections were very nice, which I consider a key aspect of a high-end restaurant. The menu was sufficiently varied, but we were insistent on eating fish. Unfortunately, most of the fresh fish available on the island that month seemed to be Mahi Mahi. Even so, our dishes were well prepared. We returned a week later for the happy hour -- which didn't turn out to be all that attractive an offering in my opinion -- but we enjoyed ourselves, nonetheless. Our waiter was very accommodating, attentive, and highly interactive, which the girls in our party appreciated. The patio looks out over the golf course and other greenery. Very pleasant and relaxing. read more

I made reservations to celebrate my wife's 60th BDay! I knew the view was amazing as we dined here when it was the Seawatch many years ago. I read the reviews and was hoping we would have a great experience on again as Gather and we were not disappointed. First, we got a table with a wonderful view of molokini and Kahoolawe and Lanai. We enjoyed the sunset as we dined and even saw whales in the distance. (Story for another time). HH started us off right with Mai Tais, Piña on the rocks and caliente wey. We also enjoyed the spicy ahi poke nachos and hurricane fries. For entrees, we ordered Charred Ponzu glazed mahi mahi, the uala catch marlin, mochiko chicken katsu and seafood salad. All were delicious! marlin can be a little tough but this was well prepared with garlic cream sauce and sweet potatoes- the sauce was amazing! We also ordered the coconut corn polenta side which was so good! For dessert we were gifted the pineapple upside down cake. It was unanimous - the best ever upside down cake!
