    The show!

Totally lucked out because we were visiting while Anthony Pluke was performing here. ( Saw him on the Mainland back in 2018!) The Playhouse is a gem--intimate setting with incredible acoustics. Reasonable pricing and looks like a super lineup of events. Warm and welcoming staff too!

    Concert with Amy Hanaiali

Amy Hanaiali i it's a premier singer and songwriter who provides a rich cabaret show experience with a single guitarist as an accompanist. It was an enjoyable 90 minute show with some multimedia thrown in discussion about Hawaiian culture and history. The location is very good. Felt intimate sound system is strong. I only wish there was a piano player and a drummer, but I totally enjoyed the show.

On my last visit to hawaii I stayed at the Hilton Waikiki Beach Hotel. What a treat it was to see…read morethat there was a magic show offered. The first showing impressed me so much I had to go again! Micheal (Kekoa), brings such a special brand of charisma as does the rest of the staff (whom usually alternate). This really brought back my appreciate for magic. The best part is that this is close up magic, so you get a very intimate feel and see things as close as possible. As with all magic shows there is a bit of story you have to buy into, but that's the beauty of it all, is to give that feeling and belief that something can happen. This show and staff really captures all those in the most entertaining and hilarious way possible. Thank you again Kekoa and staff, next time I'm in Hawaii I will surely find any excuse to visit.

If you're looking for something new and different for a fun night, date night, or an alternative to…read morethe movies, I would definitely recommend this show. My hubby and I have been together for more than 30 years so this has been a great new date night option. We have been to 2 of these shows, different magicians, and left thinking both times, "how did he do that?" We've been to the big Vegas Shows but this was like sitting in a cozy living room with a group of friends while watching everything close up. You would be extra lucky if there are children in the group because they add to the "Wow!" factor. The magicians are top notch and do a fantastic job engaging the audience and adding their own humor to their delivery. Last night we were lucky enough to attend Shoot Ogawa's last show (for now. He made everything look so simple, natural, some were old slight of hand but still left us scratching our heads. We understand that he is going to be back in a couple of weeks). If you share your email address, they also provide you discount coupons to attend another show, no strings attached. They said that they rotate through the top 20 international parlor magicians. Even the most skeptical audience members left with smiles on their faces. The magicians also stick around at the end to pose for pictures with people from the audience. We also received a complimentary drink and free validated parking. I would recommend following the instructions on the confirmation to be there early. They take people in by groups. The staff members are super friendly and funny. They take you into a small room with a bunch of neat stuff that make you ask, "is that for real?" The first group will get first choice seating. Sit in the middle for the best view and get ready for a no - low tech night of old fashioned entertainment.

The Queens, every single one of them, sashaying n shimmery, glittery n glam, extravagant n outrageous, classy n sassy, diamante laden and booty strutting, doing the splits and Beyonceying, da bomb music, wigs, sparkle, drama, girrrllllll SO MUCH FUN!!! Get there early if you want a seat or pay extra for the small VIP section (which also has it's own bar area), plus a lot of Queens enter from this vantagepoint. Drinks weren't as expensive as I thought they would be, and luckily for me (the nominated driver) they had a good selection of non alcoholic options, including cocktails and beers, as well as juices n sodas. Staff were friendly and professional, bouncers fair and bar staff friendly and quick. Free parking in the evening. For a small venue this place rocks, and I"m looking forward to watching the Queens perform a Halloween scene, and also going to see an EDC show, or maybe some reggae in future.

You can feel right away that it's a safe and inclusive space, definitely LGBTQ+ friendly from the start. The bartenders greet you with a smile and a big aloha super attentive and warm. Drinks are on point too! The Margarita is a home run, poured heavy (if that's your style, you'll love it). The Lemon Drop is smooth and refreshing, almost too easy to drink because you can barely taste the alcohol so it's dangerous in the best way. Their branding logo with the rainbow lip bite is powerful. Everything about this place feels intentional, fun and inviting. The show itself was perfect. The way the performers engage with the crowd was amazing and pure talent from the heart. The outfits are bold, creative and absolutely stunning, adding to the power of the show. The crowd is incredible, going absolutely wild, screaming and of course letting out those Cheehoos that lift the energy even higher. This has to be the longest review I've ever written, but it's worth it. A place and experience like this deserves every word. The atmosphere is lively, colorful, and just makes you want to settle in, let loose and have a good time :) Definitely will be coming back!

It was…read morereally awesome to learn how their mango farm works -- as someone interested in gardening, and especially curious about exploring the "food forest" permaculture side of growing food, it was really educational. She taught us the different plant groups that feed each other, and what order to plant to get the most productivity (and safety! We learned that papaya makes a good windbreak for smaller and more delicate plants, and agave makes a good firebreak!). I wish I lived in Maui because I'd be planting mangoes, papayas, bananas, coffee, and cocoa, RIGHT away. It was wild finding out how fast and tall papaya trees grow! These plants don't grow well in Seattle, but we are still going to take what we learned and see how we can apply similar features for our own food forest. I appreciated the very real perspectives about what works - as well as pitfalls and challenges with their food forest / mango farm. The tour was really interesting and fun, and we even had a resident cat named Tyson who took the tour with us! SO CUTE! The view there was beautiful, and though our tour group was tiny, I could see this being a fun activity for kids and families, too. Enough safe space for little folx to run around safely, and so much is stackable. She let us try mango (and wild mangos), ice cream beans (what an experience!), fresh coffee, and more. So good! They said they are going to do dinner parties here and I look forward to coming back to the Maui mango farm when we visit next time. Hopefully we'll have some good photos to show off of the garden upgrades that they've inspired. We really wanted to do something to support the Lahaina community (without being a disaster tourist, either), so visiting a regenerative farm seemed like an awesome choice, and I'm very glad we went. Bonus: since Olowalu was on our way back, we got a spectacular sunset, too.

We had to sign a waiver for this tour beforehand so my idea about this trip was pick all you can…read moreeat mango. "Do we need a hazmat?"We were joking around. "What are the odds of having concussion due to the high velocity of mango falling on your head?!?!" We were greeted by a very nice couple and served a very refreshing glass of lemongrass and cardamom leaf tea to start to hear about regenerative farming. It was invigorating and soothing at the same time. It was especially helpful for me to get over the mild cold during this trip. The walk was very easy and informative and we wore tennis shoes but it could have been easily done with flip flops or sandals. At the end, we were served delicious box of star fruit, papaya, and different mango samples . Also, we were given some recommendations on good local eats, cafes, and bakeries and some or then we spent time ourselves to find!! They are planning on serving dinner as well in the future mango farm tours so be on the lookout!!!
