A nice place to eat after snorkeling They have a great outside eating area right on the beach! Tables in the sand with great drinks. The food is good but pair with the scenery it is just very hard to beat. The crab wontons were crispy and delicious, the taro chips were the bomb.com, and as I said the drinks are righteous. You won't go wrong stopping here to enjoy the ocean, a bit of food, and a cocktail. But when you stop... get the taro chips!

We had the poke bowl, fish tacos and burger. Yum

Amazing food, views and experience. Put your feet in the sand and enjoy delicious drinks/food with live music and a view of the sunset.

    firecracker fish, very tasty!

It's called the barefoot bar because there's actually sand under your feet. I didn't care too much about the sand, but my wife actually loved it, kept digging her feet into the sand while eating. I love that the Barefoot Bar is a reasonably priced option amidst a strip of very high priced options. And I believe it's the same kitchen as the Hula Grill (but without the price tag). We had no trouble getting in with a little bit late reservation. My wife got the thai chicken flatbread. The waiter said it was super unique, it wasn't; but it was actually quite good. It wasn't huge but was still filling and it had a really good spicy kick to it. I had the firecracker fish which was a fillet of a fresh fresh that was pretty well spiced. It also had a good kick but wasn't overpowering by any means. It also came with some rice and salsa. Didn't need to eat too much of the rice. Would come back. My wife also had a really tasty coconut cocktail that even I enjoyed!

Came here 8 years ago and had their mai tai which was great! I remember it being perfectly stiff and refreshing. Finally back in Maui and came by with the fam bam and the mai tai was still delish and served in a large mongo cup. Was here for hh and although the prices arent that "happy", it was still good considering you have a great view of the beach, hula huts, and sand at your feet. I like the vibe better than Leilani across from it. I liked the music better too. I was there on a Thurs night and it was 1 musician on his ukulele. Very chill and relaxing. Our server was great too. Hh prices were about $8-$10 for apps and $8 for cocktails, $5 draft beers. I remember liking the flatbread, the kalbi tacos, and the burger. Our bill for 5 ppl was $180 and we did over eat and drink as usual. Took home most of the fish and chips. I didnt get to try any of this unfortunately. They validate for 4 hours inside the whalers village.

Below average drinks. Long wait if you don't have a reservation. Service at the bar was quick. Very touristy! I won't be going back.

I asked for a recommendation of what to have and was giving several great options! One of which was lemon-lime and strawberry shave ice with fresh lime juice and coconut cream on top. After hearing coconut cream on my shave ice, I was sold! Great customer service and some seating inside and outside to enjoy your sweet treats!

Nice happy hour. Note that appetizers are small for the price. The fish of the day was mahi mahi and was terrific and so was the hula pie.

Yes, and they seem encouraged. Feet in the sand? Why not?

We didn't have reservations and upon arriving at the host stand, the female hostess was snobby and did not want to help us and instead, the male host sat us down at a communal table with ottermans for seats. We didn't feel like crouching down to eat so I went back to ask if we could sit at the bar. We moved to the bar and ordered from the bartender; I got the lobster roll and my husband ordered the poke nachos. We realized there was a musician playing and wanted to move closer to the music. So I decided to go back to the host stand and ask if we could get on the list for a table close to the musician. The female host proceeded to snob me WHILE she drinks from her hydroflask. The male host stated to me that since we ordered our food already, we are not allowed to sit on a table since those tables have servers too. He also had an attitude. I asked very nicely and felt that they thought I was interrupting their deep conversations. The male host reluctantly stated that the tables open up after 9:30pm. Management really needs to school these two on how to talk to guests with more respect. This was on 11/14/25, approx. 8pm. As local kama'aina, we expected more but those two failed miserably. After we finished eating our food, we closed out our tab and moved by the musician. Needless to say, we were nicely greeted by a waitress who asked if she can get us anything. This place could be so much more but our experience with the front of the house was enough for us to not return during our trip. On the flip side, the lobster roll was really good whereas the poke nachos was okay. There's so much more dining options within the Westin's vicinity with great service AND food, like Leilani's Beach Bar (at Leilani's on The Beach) so we would not recommend this place BUT if you want a good lobster roll, this is the place to have it.

We unfortunately left it to 8:30pm to find a dinner place (had a full day) and many places were closing soon. I came upon Happy Fish during my research and looked at the menu, everything sounded good. Upon arrival it was ~9pm and they close at 11pm, so still have a few hours. It was actually kinda busy for 9pm. Folks at the bar and a few tables. It was seat yourself though so we grabbed a spot and our waiter came within a couple minutes to greet us and bring waters. I already knew what I wanted: TROPICAL MAHI RICE BOWL: mahi filet over a bed of rice with slaw, mango salsa, poblano sauce, sour cream, cilantro & lime. The mahi was grilled and delicious!! I asked for a side of hot sauce and that completed the dish. Absolute !! The service was really great, I enjoyed Michael and his conversation. He was so interesting and definitely made the experience 5 for us. The other thing I really appreciated about Happy Fish is that they didn't bust your wallet. The prices were competitive and because of that, I'll definitely be back. I saw they have a happy hour menu too 9-11pm, I'm going to try that before I leave along with black light bingo Wednesday nights!! More fun to come and I'll def be telling all my friends and family who come to Maui to hit up Happy Fish. Amazing service, bomb food, great prices, and awesome vibe. Can't ask for anything more!!

The chicken nuggets we ordered for the kids were dry and honestly, I'd prefer Costco or McDonald's nuggets at that point--especially for $15+. The mac and cheese was just okay, but it also came out cold--another $15+ item. Everything is over $20, which would be fine if the food was worth it. My sliders were bland and also cold--no flavor at all. The only saving grace from the food side were the chicken wings--they were crispy and the sauces (especially the spicy one) were great. But--major shout-out to the bartender, Sean. He was awesome--super friendly, welcoming, and made the vibe a lot better amidst the food disappointment. He deserves 5 stars on his own. Now, the arcade itself? Fantastic for the kids! Great selection of games and prizes. We spent $40 and the kids had a blast, taking home some decent prizes. Bottom line: come for the arcade fun, not the food!
