The Burger Shack has definitely been the highlight of our stay at the Ritz! We have eaten burgers all around the world, and there isn't any burger made better than here. We tried several different kinds over the past week, and our favorite is just the simple cheddar cheese burger with the fresh Maui onions. Each burger is a generous half pound of meat and cooked perfectly. Also, the fries are perfectly crispy! One of our favorite parts were the milkshakes... the peanut butter one comes with a cookie AND Reese's, and the Oreo one comes with a cookie as well. The service here is very friendly and felt really local and warm, with beautiful views of the ocean. We are even making this our last stop to eat before flying home! read more

Amazing burger! Wow it was one of the most memorable burger I've had so far. Granted that I'm also working at The Ritz Carlton (at different location) but seriously the burger I've had was bomb! I've had the Aloha Burger cooked rare with fries. The wagyu patty blend was juicy, delicious and cooked to perfection according to what I love, little bloody. The pineapple, sweet & spicy aioli and the buns were so well complimenting each other. The fries were awesome and so tasty as well. The ambiance was beautiful right by the beach and very casual. Got to about 10 feet and was yelled at by an employee that it was private event. All I wanted was to feed my family nothing more. I seen no signs that said anything. I was escorted all the way close to my car. My familyI were hungry. I will never come here again. Be nice to people. The Burger Shack is a beautiful location overlooking the surf and sound of Maui. The fish sandwich was excellent and the service from our Wisconsin transplant was excellent too. Bartender was good but we had to wait about 15 minutes for our drinks after paying upfront because she was having to change out three kegs by herself with no manager or dude to help her out; evidently management at this Ritz-Carlton property. The poor bar tender could have been selling more food and drinks which is the name of the game for business; however no bar-back or even management engagement. The Mai Tai was good when finally received but I was frankly ready to cancel my order. Wife's chocolate coco peanut butter drink was a great dessert first drink but took forever to make. We did not stay at the Ritz, but saw this restaurant on Tik Tok and we wanted to give it a try. It's a casual restaurant on the Ritz's property at the back of the resort. They serve American classics such as burgers, salads, and shakes (plus full-service bar of course). The menu is extremely pricy ($32 for the burger + fries, ~$12-15 for the shake) however it's at the Ritz, so that's expected. You get to see the beach from the restaurant, and potentially enjoy the private beach if you have all your beach gear with you. read more

The food was actually really good! What I didn't like was the service. We had to ask for menus twice and weren't greeted by a waitress until 10-15 minutes after sitting down. I had one beer but would've ordered a second if the waitress came by while we got our food. Biggest concern was the aggressiveness of the birds. The staff needs to be more swift when people leave their tables. I was a little worried we would be attacked while eating. read more

Ate lunch at the burger shack on a Sunday afternoon. It was lovely sitting under the umbrellas next to the water on such a beautiful day. The waitress was very nice and kind, especially knowing that we were locals. My friend and I shared the double stack Wagyu burger, which was more than enough for us. The burger was so juicy and very tasty. Easily one of the best burgers I've had. We were so full that we were not able to order a shake, but from what I hear the shakes are legendary. Came here for lunch. Open seating and we are lucky we got here when we did because once we sat down people started to come. Dennis, our server came quick once we sat down and took our order. First off I wanted to let you know that we went to your restaurant last year and had an amazing burger and experience. We decided to go back this year because of it but Unfortunately this year had little to be desired. The view is beautiful but the service and food were mediocre. The table of 4 next to us of whom were seated after me and my husband were served before us, quite a few minutes before us, they were almost finished with their meal before we got ours! I asked our server, Dustin, about it and he said he would check on our food immediately. Instead of going to check on our order he promptly went to another table seated in front of us to see if the gentleman needed anything. Our food finally came out and it was very disappointing. The burger patties were thin and dry and I'm sure that the pineapple with my burger came out of a can and were not the "grilled pineapple" you would expect in Hawaii! They also put tomatoes on my husband's burger after he specifically asked Dustin not to. I brought the tomato problem to Dustin's attention after he finally came back he just said "oh sorry" and walked away. We arrived around 1:30 and were not served until way after 2:00, even though others were. We don't mind spending $33.00 on a burger if it's fantastic but I can tell you that we won't go back after such a bad experience. read more

This place has a bar, seating at tables, and a to-go window. Our group of seven visited in the afternoon, and it was open seating at that time. Being that we weren't planning a full meal, we just ordered from the to-go window. It was such great scenery though (obviously), that we decided to just stay and finish our $21 shakes there. It wasn't crowded at that moment, so we politely asked if we could sit at a nearby table. We were told no, because that table was reserved for groups of eight or more. So we asked if we could sit at two four-person tables and we were told no, those were reserved for dine-in customers. Again, it was open seating and it wasn't crowded at the time = discrimination. You're definitely paying for the view, but oh, what a view it is! The hostess seated us and was very accommodating when we asked to move. Our server did a great job and took a moment to take a few photos for us. We both got burgers, which we enjoyed. Some of these reviews are mind blowing. It's May 28th 2026 and I just wandered down from my Golf Villa Airbnb to the burger shack for lunch. It is nothing short of outstanding. I was greeted immediately. The bar was completely empty so I sat there. The bartender was like he had a PhD in bartending. I had an insane chocolate milkshake and the Aloha Burger. Turned around and there's Moloka'i behind the crystal blue pacific ocean view. Hard bass lines from classic Reggae subtly riffing through the speaker system. I could tell the service was slow looking around, but that's totally expected, isn't that island culture? Considering it's the Ritz Carlton West Coast of Maui Hawaii Oceanfront Tiki Shack... Only come here for the shakes, which are delicious. $30 for an average burger and $25 for a Mai tai. French fries are very good and service was great. Milkshakes are the only reasonably priced item at around $15. But they are definitely big enough to share. Go get yourself a shake and some fries and call it a day. read more

Ofcourse i chose fries :) and the burger and fries both were delicious - katsu burger 3/5- slightly chewy for me as it seemed double fried to me. Went with my family of six, around 2:30 PM. Since it is located right on the beach, the view is amazing! Workers are so nice and friendly, food came out extremely fast as well. Burgers were a nice size, however, the menu itself is pricey (averaging around $30-40 per dish)! I ordered the California Poke included in the July Special. It was good, not great. This was a great little spot right on the ocean. There's free park parking but the lot is small, there's paid parking close though too. Overall the ambiance is gorgeous, the food tasty, but it's the price that has me holding onto that last star. We paid $65 for one burger, one shake, and tip. I get that stuff is priced higher on the island, and rightfully so, but for two menu items, wow. I'd recommend going back for shakes, we got $14 Hula Girl a creamy pineapple coconut shake which they kindly split into two for us. It was so good! The burger we got was yummy but not worth the $39 price tag IMO. Go get a shake or two and enjoy the view, grab lunch of dinner elsewhere if a $30+ burger is too much to swallow :) read more

Great views and a nice spot to relax, but our experience was a bit mixed. They're only open until 3, and we came right before closing, so service was a little slow. I came here to try their milkshakes and ordered on the side window to-go. They had a caramelized peach shake special that sounded delightful so I went ahead and ordered that, and I believe my friend got the nutty cocomel shake. Initially only one guy was taking and making orders, but another dude popped in to help once the line started forming. The presentation of the shakes was astounding but the peach shake was a slight let down. It was practically a vanilla milkshake with graham cracker dust, and a slice of peach on top. While I was bummed, it still was a solid vanilla shake lol. I had a taste of the nutty cocomel and if you love peanut butter and chocolate, you will love this one. Came here after a lovely beach day just a 5 minute walk away. Love how their beef burgers are all wagyu. It definitely makes for a juicy burger! I ordered mine medium rare, and it came out more medium. So I'd say if you're picky about temperature to be super specific :) They had tons of shakes on the menu too that looked great! Being right off the coast made for some gorgeous scenery. I'd love to come back closer to sunset to really enjoy that view! read more

What a great view to have with lunch! The burgers are very tasty I skipped the Shakes for a couple Mia Tai's. The servers are very friendly asked your name for the room charging and were friendly and polite for the entire meal. The view is so amazing it was hard to remember you were there for a meal. Ocean breeze kept us nice and cool. Signs warning to beware of chickens, they mill about free range. The real bandits were the pigeons, I got up to use the restroom and one landed at my spot with my wife still at the table, lol. Overall if you are nearby stop in you will love it! read more
